Title: Newbies account upgrade
Post by: habilamesure on December 20, 2020, 05:47:12 PM
I know this topic have been raised countless times here, but this is me addressing my own concern, no hard feeling please!

I have never really give a denm or find any needed of upgrading my account rank in as much as am able to use it to do whatever I want to use it for such as;
creation of threads, comments, and  sending of DMs.

But not until recently I've find the need of upgrading it a to higher rank and not newbies anymore.
Since newbies have some certain restrictions such as posting of images etc... And this had been a big drawback for me.

Like I understand ones account can only get upgraded only when he's been giving a merit by others forum users.

So I want to know, is there no other way one can get his/her account upgrade without hoping for other forum members to award him/her a merit?

Am not used to being dependent on something, and me hope to get merit from any member of the forum is no different from being dependent.

You could always buy a copper membership: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote

Or just wait to earn merit.

You can buy the copper membership (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote) lifting at least the image restriction. Check this (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2385104.msg24371150#msg24371150) out for more information.

Am not used to being dependent on something, and me hope to get merit from any member of the forum is no different from being dependent.

Getting Merits is not hard at all.
You basically just have to contribute something.

There are so many users around here giving merits for literally anything which is not just a stupid copy/paste or dumb question.

Just invest a little bit of time into something valuable and you'll receive more merits than you need.. or hope for a charity merit.

For a new member, I'd say it's pretty hard unless they can write pretty well and put a decent amount of effort into what they're posting--and unfortunately most newbies don't.  If you're an established member who's been here a while, I'd say it's much easier to earn merits.  There could be many reasons for that, but regardless that's what I've noticed.

I gave OP a merit here since he did put some effort into that post, even if it was to bitch about ranking up.  Being stuck at Newbie rank sucks, as you have all of those restrictions.  I'll take OP at his word that he's not interested in climbing the ranks and just wants to get past those restrictions.  And hey, it's only one merit anyway.  Merry Christmas, bro.

I reviewed your post history and have concluded that you are putting in a decent amount of effort into your posts. I have given you merit, and you will rank up to a junior member (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2766177.0).

Seems like you are trying so hard to get merits. But this is not the way to get it. Try to make qualitative post. You won't receive any merit by creating this type of useless topic in meta board. Can't post images (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5301304.0)
People already suggested that how you can remove those such restrictions. But you are asking pretty same thing again. Quoting a reply from your another thread, always remember that
I really was tempted to give you a merit, but then I saw your post history and most of it was just shitcoin bounty applications, and nothing in particular that was actually constructive.

Make some good posts, and I will personally merit you. You have my word. I like believing in people, don't let me down. Dm me if i forget, but if you still keep the same quality of posting, I will just put you on ignore.

I think this post was not even worth to receive merit. Though you got it now. Hope you will try to contribute in the forum by making good post without running behind bounties.

Sorry what do you mean by running behind bounty, yes I made some post relating to bounty a year ago, but is it a crime to make sure post or did I break any rules.

What's your point about bounty, I can see you're trying to claim a expert in the forum!

Also you said I should make some good post, did you see any shit post when you previous my profile posts?

Your first few post was bounty related. And in this month you have made 34 posts till now. Among those you have made 18 posts at same topic. No matter what you post in tokens(altcoins), most of your post won't be appreciated by other forum members. But if you have changed your mind recently then it's great. Good wishes for you :)

Posting in bounty isn't a crime, you are free to do it. But it's better to make good constructive post without creating topic with same concept. I'm not trying to claim myself expert in the forum, it is your bad thought. Everyone can see what you are doing and I just said it.

You just need to wait for your payment has successfully gone through as there are currently a traffic on the network and make sure that you've send the exact amount or more to the address provided to you.

Once your transaction has 1 confirmation, revisit this page and then use the form which will appear in order to wear your new membership. Your transaction will not be accepted until it has 1 confirmation. Bitcoin network fees and exchange/wallet withdrawal fees will not count toward your payment
We are commonly asked how we know that you sent a payment. The address above was newly generated just for you, so when any BTC is sent to it, we will know to credit it to your account. It is all automatic.

Yes OP, the point is that if people see that you are here only to make money through bounties or signature campaigns they will be reluctant to give you merits. Especially bounties have a bad reputation here. Too many people posting crap to make a few bucks.

It seems you have gooten 3 merits in a row. You now only need to use the forum to exchange knowledge. If you don't know about something, ask. When you know more, help others. Merits will come.

It's either you pay for the copper membership or you just wait for 30 days and get 1 merit and don't pay anything at all. If you aren't here promoting anything like any other new account have I think it is best if you just wait it out since merit will always come to a sensible and helpful post you will be creating. For a newbie it might seem to be a tough mountain to climb but the truth is its really not something that will burden you forever.

OP's gotten to Junior Member, so all he has no troubles posting images now :)

Today I see two active accounts, one of which is participating in the bounty.
Nevertheless, you continue to mislead everyone here, and even be rude.

Sorry what do you mean by running behind bounty, yes I made some post relating to bounty a year ago, but is it a crime to make sure post or did I break any rules.

I don't think you are special and the rules are the same for everyone.
As a result, I can say that you are a liar who has been present on the forum for a very long time, having several banned accounts. And today you are participating in the bounty from another account, which completely contradicts your words.
Your account, or rather two, are evading the ban!

Oops, and then there's plagiarism ;D

So newbies buy copper membership?.

I reviewed your post history and have concluded that you are putting in a decent amount of effort into your posts. I have given you merit, and you will rank up to a junior member (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2766177.0).

As you can see, there is a long list of users constantly looking for posts to merit. Sometimes posts and posters go unnoticed, but the second they raise a legitimate concern about struggling while putting in real effort to be part of the community we're all over it.

I don't know if there are still any that are active, but awhile ago there was a handful of threads designed specifically to get your posts reviewed to see if they were "under merited" and rectify that.

I understand your concern of dependency, but I'd suggest you look at it less like a dependency and more like a chance to earn your stripes around the community and feel proud of every single merit you earn. They're not given out of pity to dependents, they're earned by contributing members of the community and there is no shortage.

I will give you merit instead xD.

Please I have a question
 Which one is copper membership?
I don't seem to understand at all.
Copper membership are usually bought by newbie account to be eligible to upload images on the forum, normally, it enables them having the same features member rank account has.
By popular demand, newbies can now pay to have some of their restrictions lifted. If you pay the fee, you become a Copper Member, and you can post images. That's the main point of this: allowing newbies to post images.
So newbies buy copper membership?.
I don't understand.
Someone should put me through.
Not all the newbies buys copper member account, mostly companies that need to upload images finds their way to upgrade to copper member with a total sum of 0.00119981 BTC, click here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2385104.msg24371150#quickreply) for more information
