Title: [2020] Positive news!
Post by: zasad@ on December 23, 2020, 05:08:02 PM
2020 ends. It has been a very interesting year for the crypto community.

My suggestion is to end this year in a positive way.
This is not my idea and it has already been implemented on the forum (unfortunately I cannot find links). I want to continue this tradition.

Share your 2020 achievement, any good news, success, and so on. Say something good about any user or how this forum has helped you succeed.
In short, write something positive to cheer up other users.

For each post in this thread, I will give 1 merit and will continue to do so until I run out of merit before the end of 2020.

I found the author of this idea - fillippone (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5212867.msg53450922#msg53450922)

I believe this is the thread you're looking for - [Merits Giveaway]2019 in review. A big thanks to many forum users (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5212867.msg53450922#msg53450922). I'm not certain if it was done in earlier years.

I think this has been my first complete year on the forum, without any away time. And it has been a very impactful one for me.
I have learnt so much and also contributed in the little way I can to help other members. Cheers to every member who is genuinely contributing to the growth of the forum regardless of the rank, you have all been helpful to me in a certain way. To name a few;

• Cryptopreneurbrainboss: He has been very influential in helping members both on and off the forum, through charities and other contributions.
• DdmrDdmr: I've learnt a lot from your posts and data, I've also messaged you on a couple of things with helpful feedback.
• LoyceV: Your contribution has been very useful to the forum.
• Filliponne: I've learnt a lot from you, particularly in the economics section.
• Hhampuz: One of the most helpful and reputable members on the forum.
Special appreciation to those who contribute to keeping the forum safe (mods and reporters).

my 2020 achievement- i purchased bitcoin.

this is the first time i have invested in bitcoin. i had planned to invest in 2017 but for some reason, i didn't and later i felt like i did the right when i saw bitcoin was falling. it took me almost 3 years to learn that 2017 was not a bubble, we are probably entering in a new era and i didn't want to miss that. i had read a lot, planned a lot. i had seen people talking about bitcoin everywhere.
so, finally, last month i had purchased bitcoin. it was  one of my great investment so far. still i'm holding.

It was a rough year to say the least, covid-19 pandemic was a thorn in our flesh (and still is), but nonetheless it wasn't bad at all for the Bitcoin community, from the halving to the point at which we are right now, and that's above the ath, as well as looking forward to a special year for Bitcoin next year, that's positive news indeed, one all Bitcoiners are looking forward to.

Interesting year as well for the Bitcointalk family, I'd like to thank Royse777 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=366632) for Project Covid-19: An approach to support the Bitcoin Community (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5243099.msg54287738#msg54287738), this comes first to mind cause the pandemic was really unbearable for quite a lot of people and to come up with that initiative was a life saver for some, thank you!
Thanks to zasad@ (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2654005) for organizing one of the most interesting event I've witnessed on the forum, talking about the [Interviews] with Bitcointalk members (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5262967.0), it was really interesting and uniting, I still go back to read a couple of great interviews.
It was a great year for bitcoin, and it's adoption, thanks to fillippone (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1852120) for keeping us abreast with most of the latest info and development via Bitcoin Treasuries (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5280947.0).
Last but not least, thanks to icopress (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1137579) for organizing Bitcointalk Community awards [Voting 2020] (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5284749.msg55462634#msg55462634), it was fun voting in that thread and it was a very good initiative I must say.

This are some of the most interesting topics I loved on the forum this year, most especially cause they were threads that somewhat unified the community even in a turbulent year, I hope we and Bitcoin have a better 2021, happy holidays guys.

I registered my bitcointalk account on Mar 07, 2020 but I was surprised I could have gone this far. I made few mistakes but yet made many quality articles. I was even able to be one of the most merited daily four times.

https://i.imgur.com/0WaXyz2.png

I joined five campaigns so far and was able not to miss in the recent bullrun but although not enough bitcoin but the few I had really counts.

I was able to see how this forum is so good, especially from the good members all around.

dbshck, I noticed he do focus on newbies, members and full members that post good and award them merits. He really helped me when I was at that stage. He his a staff on this forum.

I remember the day I contacted LoyceV that he did not merit my good post and merited other member that posted below mine, he gave me four merits that day and told me not to really be bothered about forum. I remember that day very well and it made my day good.

I can never forget ddmrddmr because he is so kind, he do visit 'biginners and help' so often to look for good posts and never hesitate to give good posts merit(s). He is the second person that merited me most. I check many users profile to know how ddmrddmr has been so generous in given merits to quality posts. He his always at the top of users given people merits.

I have to mention CryptopreneurBrainboss, I was able to know him on this forum, he merited me most while able to hear and help me anytime I call for his help, he is a great man.

Mucacinno, I just have to comment that anytime you come on the forum, you do get merit, just because your posts are quality enough to earn it, I really always gain from many of your posts.

pooya87 is professionally writing his post and knows more about bitcoin. Seeing you in the highest rank campaign on bitcointalk is never a surprise.

o-e-l-e-o, he made the forum hard for me at start, but able to understand that he saw great things about me to make sure he helped and improved me. I still always like him for that. Also, I learn a lot about bitcoin from him, he knows a lot about bitcoin too just like pooya87

Upgrade00, I wanted to post like him, he is a good poster.

Suchmoon, I checked how he gives merit, he gives 4, 7 or more. I was able to know he shares merit good. He do post in meta and reputation, and gave me merits especially when I am not expecting.

20kevin20, he saw my post worthy one day of being given merit, he sent me 9 good merits one day that really made my day

fillippone for his good research.

The Pharmacist, he likes posting on meta and economy, he is a good poster that shares his opinion the way he think it is best. I like following people like him.

NotATether, he is my rival, but I think he is better than me because he knows about CSE and computer related things more than me. He his a good poster that worth better campaign.

These are the few I can comment about but there are still many I can comment good about, just pardon me if I have not mentioned you.

2020 ends.
Finally, and good riddance to it as well.

OP, you don't have to give me any merits for posting here.  Save it for a lower-ranked member who isn't a merit source who makes a decent post.

I'm trying to think of some positives of 2020 and I'm coming up short--I don't even think I did a decent job distributing merits this year, though I did my best.  It was just a shitty year all around, but I'm hoping 2021 will be just a wee bit better (and at the very least won't be any worse than this year).  Happy holidays to all my fellow forumites, and may you not come down with anything deadly or contagious.

2020 ends. It has been a very interesting year for the crypto community.

Finally, the worst year (so far and hopefully the last) has come to an end.

Though this year has shook everyone due to the unexpected pandemic, this is also a humbling experience that I was able to focus on the things that I neglected before. My biggest achievement for this year would be the time that I supported and paid half of the education of my younger brother through the proceeds that I gained from participating in campaign signatures. My brother is 10 years old and I was able to pay for his education for one semester and it definitely helped my dad in alleviating his expenses.

Just can write what others also have written , that a bad year for humanity and peoples going to the end .
But there was also good things like a lot of people and Users started reporting and we was fighting good about scammers and spammers !
Also the ATH for Bitcoin at the moment and few other things that will take to long to write all here .

For sure it was a positive year for Bitcoin .

2020 has been such a shitshow, it has done more harm than good. However, that didn't change how some people reacted on this forum at least for all the good moments that happened here,: QS and Lauda forgiving each other was a highlight for sure. 2020 has been so fucking long I can't even tell if this happened this year or if it happened in 2019. Still fuckin sucks that Bruno isn't with us and Lauda left the forum, and a lot of OGs leaving, gives me a hard time everytime I talk about it.

Shoutout to the whole chipmixer roster, they have helped me quite a bit just by their normal regular posting. I will always be grateful to those lot.  :D

And merry christmas and a very happy new year. To a better 2021.

2020 was the year nature decided to decentralize the consequences of poor hygiene.  :(

Although the world around me changed little physically, everything has changed online and I feel the smart ones are moving their careers away from public physical interaction.   I'm happy that this forum gave me the ideas, support and opportunity to hopefully spread a lot more coin around to those who need it in the new year.  Crypto = Opportunity!

Unfortunately, 2021 will start out worse for many who are losing rent and other debt protection.   Enjoy this holiday season as much as you can - you may never see a lot of the participants again.  :/

Well, 2020 and quarantine made me find something that I had been lacking for the past couple of years: time. I'm sure that's not something new or innovative but I reconnected with people I hadn't been in touch with and even found more time to dedicate to crypto. I picked up a couple of hobbies, wrote a few stories. Surprisingly, I am ending the year wealthier than I started (not by much but I think in 2020 that's an accomplishment, at least among my peers).

2020 was strangest year in my life and sometimes I still can't believe it's not some kind of movie or bad dream. 2021 simply can't be worse.
But it's something incredible that Bitcoin hit ATH during this year. I doubt that many of us expected that such thing can happen, especially during March dip. At least I didn't panic sell even single Satoshi back then.
In general, 2020 was not great, not terrible for me. At least I didn't got Covid, my family members didn't got it too and it's already something positive. Also, I didn't lost my job - it would be big hit during these strange times. And what I can say that working not remotely during lockdown is big advantage for me when I still meet my colleagues and have real social contact :D. I would get mad if I'd have to work from home.
But in general, 2020 is year to forget for me, nothing significant didn't happened for me and I can only enjoy some small things. But I imagine that after 10 or 20 years it will be very strange to remember these unbeleavable time that we lived.

The best way to approach a topic like this is to write about the first things that come to mind and the first things you will remember. Sadly, my memories of 2020 are joyless.

A good friend of mine left the country to find a better life for himself elsewhere. But we never lost touch. One day he calls me and says that he has been diagnosed with Leukemia and doesn't have long to live. Stem cell and bone marrow transplantations were attempted but his body rejected it. He was dead within two months.

A work colleague of mine got infected with COVID. She had a bad cough but kept telling everyone it will pass, it's nothing to worry about. As the days passed, it got worse until she started having trouble breathing and was rushed into hospital. A severe pneumonia developed because she didn't act quicker and she didn't make it. She was 49 years old.

On a more personal note. My occupation allows me to work mostly from home, so I wasn't affected with layoffs, lack of work, or financial difficulties like many of my friends. Another close friend of mine got fired and had to move to another city where he found another job. The pandemic and me working from home allowed me to spend more time with my family and that is something I will cherish. We are all healthy in spite of some problems, and I hope it will stay that way. I miss my family who are scattered all over the world and who I couldn't visit like I usually do because of this freaking pandemic.

I wish my review was more positive but I wanted to write about the first things I thought off.

Stay safe everyone. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Year 2020 has been wonderful for me as far as Bitcoin Forum is concerned. My learning about crypto and Blockchain  improved significantly by reading posts and communicating with members of this Forum.
Digital currency markets have climbed significantly in value all year long, despite the gloomy global economy and the aftermath of Covid-19 responses. Bitcoin prices have been hovering at values not seen since 2017, and the top crypto asset in terms of market cap has gained a whopping 159% since January 5, 2020. In fact, many crypto assets have seen spectacular 12-month returns in 2020.

I am glad that 2020 is finally over. This has been the worst year in a generation, if not longer for many if not most people throughout the world.

There has been a lot of pain and suffering this year, and I can only pray that the end of 2020 will bring the end to that.

Well 2020 started like every other year for me, while others were complaining on how bad the year was, I was just lively one of my best years of my young life on a low key until my greed got the best of me. I lost hugely to one of the defi projects, I did a thread on it on the forum but just don't want to revisit to post the link here to avoid falling back into depression caused I always lost it although tried staying strong. Most of my profit (if not all) got lost in chasing that over hyped projects and got dumped on by the early investors.

On the good side, the Covid19 didn't cause much harm in my region so I didn't have to go through the fear of contacting the virus. My condolences though to all those that had to go through the hell the pandemic caused. This year brought out the best of me as my old habbit of always wanting to help those in need got resurrected after I got a chat from Royse777 concerning overseeing the outreach planned for my region (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5252309.0). Special shout out to all those that made this event possible and successful, (the donators, volunteers and organizers) you guys were the real MVP (heros to me) this year.

The year is also ending on a good note, bitcoin has done impressive numbers in regards to price appreciation but to be frank I didn't benefit much since I got trapped in alts although I'm happy generally for the growth of bitcoin and the industry in general. I see better days ahead and as far I'm still breathing there's hope for a better tomorrow starting with 2021. I know she's going to treat me nicely.

I also want to say thank you to everyone who has supported me this year. It was a leap year, they always say that such years are never easy. But this time, COVID-19 amazed the entire planet so much that 2020 will be remembered for a long time.
But despite all the hardships, we have become more experienced and stronger, so we need to accept what we have passed with dignity and move on.
The next year according to the eastern calendar will be the year of the Bull, which means that the bull is a hardworking and determined animal. All who will develop and work will be successful. Let's forget about all misunderstandings and enter the New year with a pure heart.
Today is Catholic Christmas.
I congratulate everyone from the bottom of my heart and wish health to all family and friends. And, of course, to all Bitcoin supporters of a further bull run.

2020 was just an amazing year for me in terms of personal growth. I learned a lot this year. A website I worked on rose x5 times and that was an unbelievable achievement to me even though I was returned to the place where I started after Google's December update:D. Thank this year, I have a strong enough plan, finances, knowledge and experience to start a brand new online magazine (maybe in crypto) that I always wanted next year.

Other than that, thank God, I did not lose anyone close because of the virus (some of them suffered real bad tho, but considering that at some point people kept dying in a couple of days after being infected, I'm thankful to God).

Also, no need to mention how fantastic year was it for the world of crypto! We got back to the point where we actually belong after the last two awful years. This is only a start and cryptocurrency will more and more be valuable by time.

Thank you everyone in Bitcointalk for being a part of it, blessings to mods, admins, scammer busters :D, data guys, quality posters and all other contributors of the forum. Sending you all my heartfelt wishes with joy that never ends.

Happy New Year!

Well hopefully this year will see the end of EU control and interference in our affairs. I hope we will get the no deal result that we voted for so long ago, but it looks as idf they are still trying for a last minute stitch up lets hope it fails.

The exposure of the covid vaccine and it undoubted failure may lead to an end of the modern vaccine myth. The differences between protein vaccines such as smallpox ( which take 10 -20 years to test), and RNA vaccine such as the modern one like Covid ( which are being tested in months) is starting to be publicised. Increased health education and awareness may help us all to live the current anticipated lifespan for the young of 150 years.

Bitcoin has found its role in the modern economy, and this is a store of wealth alongside gold and other precious metals. A few altcoins seems to be establishing themselves as internet currencies. Hopefully this use will increase in 2021, and such coins will gain public acceptance.

The role of vitamin "D", hydration, zinc and fresh air in helping to build natural vitus immunity id being publicised by a few government officials - lets hope that people start to take notice.

Questions are being raised about environmentally damaging electric cars, so I hope the demise of petrol and diesel vehicles will be postponed.

2021 will be a year of great wealth transfer. I hope we can work together to ensure that it flows in the right direction.

2020 is a very eventful year in my life. I just want to mention the positive side here. The biggest positive news is that I joined this great forum this year. I achieved Full membership on this great forum.

A few days ago, the result of Bitcointalk community awards was published. I also voted there.  Although not all of my nominated candidates are winners. Yet at the end of the year I would like to recall some of the members here who have helped me in various ways or who I like.

LoyceV, DdmrDdmr, Coolcryptovator : These three are the most helpful person in the forum. It is not too late for DdmrDdmr to encourage a good quality post in the Beginners and Help section.
Suchmoon: Suchmoon is the moon of this forum.
Ratimov : Ratimov is like a teacher of this forum.
CryptopreneurBrainboss: He is a gentleman of this forum.
zasad@, icopress: This two are the entrepreneur of this forum.
Hhumpuz: Most successful manager of this forum.
YOSHIE, lovesmayfamilis: This two are the Scavengers of this forum.
Vod: Vod is the guardian of this forum.

And the new year is coming a few days later. I hope everyone will forget the filth of the old year and move forward with new vigor in the new year.

There’s no argument that 2020 has been a woeful year , but in times of hardship , communities are brought together and this has certainly happened in the bitcointalk community .

Project Covid- 19 has been a fantastic community charity and I totally respect all organisers and donators ( too many to mention) who have been involved in it - well done !

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5243099.220

On a personal level , knowledge is crucial and at least during lockdown I’ve had the chance to increase my crypto knowledge.
Thanks OP for starting this thread and giving us this opportunity to say thanks and be grateful for all the positives . Onwards and upwards for 2021.  :)

Have a great holidays all  :)

for me personally, the year 2020 was a very positive one in terms of crypto, which of course has been surpassed by the new ath of Bitcoin. it makes me very proud that i have been a member here in the forum for almost 10 years and have already invested in digital gold back then. ;D

as for the review of the year in terms of humanity and the world, i think we have seen an unprecedented "catastrophe" by the covid-19 pandemic ... too many dead, catastrophic conditions in the respective countries and their hospitals, refrigerated containers where the corpses are stored, etc. i hope that now through the starting corona vaccinations now the whole thing so slowly comes to an end and we can sometime in the summer of 2021 again live somewhat "normal" :-\

merry christmas and stay healthy!! :)

2020 was the year when I started learning Python(with almost zero knowledge of other programming languages), and my inspiration for that was a user from this very forum, namely @LoyceV. Seeing how helpful one can be by knowing how to code, I decided to learn a language myself, and I chose Python, for many obvious reasons.

I've been in this business for only 4 months, but I already have an achievement I'm proud of. At one point, about a month ago, I decided to try to write a program that prints out the Fibonacci Sequence, with the knowledge I had at the time. I intentionally did not google it, and you can't imagine how happy I was when within 2 days I succeeded!

The program is so simple and short that I think I can show it here.

Code:
x = 0
y = 1
while x < 100:
    print(x)
    print(y)
    x = x + y
    y = x + y

#Insert any number you want instead of '100' to obtain a sequence of the desired length.

Then I googled it, and I didn't find a code this simple and readable, which made me even more happy. :)

So, apart from Bitcointalk Poker Series, started this year, one of which I won, earning around 0.045 BTC, that was my greatest achievement in 2020, I guess.

Thank you, Bitcointalk community, for making this world a better place!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! :)

The Ledger leak is a poor ending to 2020 (cryptowise), but the positive side is that people may go around changing their emails and phone numbers, which once in a while causes a likely healthy practice, so there’s that (albeit one that is cumbersome) – just trying to flip the outcome with some positivity.

Sent some sMerits around for xMas ( 206 profiles merited (by me) in under 4 minutes – What’s got over me? (v 6.0) (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5105622.msg49567272#msg49567272)) to drain it all from the well …

Merit xMas …

It's been a shitty year overall and I won't remember it for good, but if I have to find something positive, it's two things:
  • I reaffirmed my hodling beliefs. Few years ago I though that I will sell at least half of my bitcoin stash when we reach previous ATH, but as time was passing, so was my plan. New ATH came and passed and my stash is almost intact (if anything it got increased).
  • 2020 was my first full year on forum during which I learned quite a lot from many knowledgeable and helpful people here. That process still goes on and will hopefully continue in the same manner during 2021.

Merry Christmas everyone, stay safe and healthy!

What can be the good news other than BTC reaching new ATH? I don't think there is any more good news for anyone who love bitcoin, who are into it for a long time, who have invested in it and HODL tight in the bearish season, even when a lot of noobs have capitulated. So, that's the best news for me.
Cheers

August 2020 is where I started a new business (irl) with my bitcoin capital. I have an initiative to use bitcoin which I got during January to August by breaking it into 2 parts for trading capital (as usual) and real business then comparing both profits at the end of this year. So far, my real business has unexpectedly grown despite the pandemic. At least so far it has generated about 80% profit (in fiat). Maybe I started this business too quickly when bitcoin was under $12k at that time, if I had started now I might have got more capital but I'm happy to finally start my real business with capital from bitcoin. Surely this will be one of my stories that bitcoin has started this if my business continues to grow, hopefully.

This is a memorable year for me because I am involved in crypto this year. Everything has its ups and downs. Although Covid-19 caused a lot of problems in my real life, maybe this is why I joined this forum for Covid-19. And now I am very happy to join this greatest forum.

Since I am a beginner I visit Beginners & Help section to learn some new things. I have seen some members always helping newbies like DdmrDdmr, pooya87, o_e_l_e_o, mk4, 1miau etc. I thank them all from my heart. May the new year fulfill everyone's expectations with this wish Hapoy New Year.

Share your 2020 achievement, any good news, success, and so on.
Achievement/success

  • I'm someone with a medical background that happens to be working in a hospital that became dedicated [almost 80% of our departments] to Covid-19 patients and knowing that how close I had to work with my patients [some of them have/had Covid-19] while still remaining uninfected [including my family] is definitely one of my biggest achievements for this year.
    • Even though this pandemic forced us to wear special masks, suits, and shields [that resulted in less freedom and harder communication at work], it's still worth all the extra effort it took to protect us and others around us.

Good news

  • Seeing that a lot of you are still around [with the exception of a few] while reading every single one of the posts makes it the best news ever.

Say something good about any user
It wouldn't be fair to only name a few and since I've seen a significant improvement [in general] among users of this forum, I would like to point to those that make positive contributions [small or big, known or unknown] and just say, THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS FORUM A BETTER PLACE FOR THE FUTURE.

You are right! But those are just 2 merits. At most that user will be able to attain Jr. Member rank and join some shitty altcoin bounties with minimum rank requirement. I don't see any other significant abuse. At least he's in the radar now because I suspect him as an alt account so it will be easy to locate if he abuses a campaign with multi-accounting in future.

But most important of all - it's Holidays week man! And as the title of this thread says - 'Positivity', let's try to be. :) Last year Theymos distributed tons of merits to newbies in art contest. That's the spirit of festival and celebrations.

Previously I apologized to everyone on the Bitcointalk forum, 2020 is only 7 days away, of course there are many positive things that can be obtained here, of course l cannot say one by one, clearly everything is the best and positive.

I hope the beginning of 2021 and I pray for the bitcointalk forum community and crypto users, especially Bitcoin around the world: healthy, safe, and still given the best and positive by God.

There are not many comments that I can say here, the bottom line: always provide the best for the Bitcointalk forum from all sides.

Positive news with this year where altcoin going to the moon and bitcoin reach higher price in this year, nice waiting for what happen this year could going on for the next year and become motivate how to be better in trading or investing with many project, but most important have to prepare right now is most active when trade on dapp exchange market, today many people earn much money from 1inch coin after receiving more than 600 1inch coin, maybe for next year when bitcoin reach higher price give surprise for bounty and ICO project running well.

I have learnt so many things from this forum. Bitcointalk has not only made me improve my vocabulary but also has improvised my knowledge in various domains.
I have met so many people on this forum who are talented and have achieved a good reputation for themselves. 2020 has been the best year for me.
I have made some very nice friends from this forum who have helped me develop my skills and motivated me to further improvise my overall skills and domain knowledge.
I got the opportunity to be a part of different communities such as discord, Telegram, IRC etc.. I have also started my journey towards bitcoin core development this year.

Personally, since the implementation of the merit system I have seen good progress on my posting habits. It might not be so good in other's perspective but I believe I have put in significant efforts to make some good contribution on this forum and this won't stop here. I will continuously try harder to deliver greater contribution towards the forum.

Here is my summary of the amount of merits earned since the implementation of the merit system.

Amount of merits earned in 2018 : 0
Amount of merits earned in 2019 : 39
Amount of merits earned in 2020 : 147
Total merits earned                      : 186

I hope I will rank up to become a Hero Member in the first quarter of 2021.

In short, write something positive to cheer up other users.

the only achievement I can consider(not even sure If I should consider it) here in the forum is that I finally got my first 100 merits although it is not something to be proud of I am still glad that there are members appreciate my post

as for member who has helped me(well, not just me but the whole forum) LoyceV and TryNinja the projects, scripts they created are extremely helpful not just to me but to all the members who are using it.

Merry Christmas and Happy holiday to all who celebrate this festival.
2020 is a glorious year for cryptocurrency. In this year Bitcoin reaches its ATH. Bitcoin halving occurs in this year. After 2017, the price of cryptocurrency has been increased in 2020. Cryptocurrency has been able to cope with much of the economic downturn in our lives for Covid 19.

The BitcoinTalk forum is a self-contained forum. Thousands of guides have been created here for the convenience of the members. If anyone wants help in the forum, hundreds of members come forward to help him. That's why I like this forum so much.

2020, what can I say? Tough year for most people who aren't accustomed to earning money online but there were some who adjusted quite smoothly. I'm not going to mention any more members here [there are other threads that already highlighted their achievements].

Despite a rough year, I'm kinda happy that the pandemic happened since we get to see bitcoin breaking its previous ATH in just a matter of days because more institutional investors see more value in bitcoin now compared to fiat. Who knows if it will break $30,000 as we approach the new year? I know that's selfish but that's how I see its effect on BTC.

P.S.
Merry Christmas and I'm looking forward to a bountiful New Year!
BTC $100K by Dec 2021 hehe.

2020 is the year to fulfill my dream. Some good things have happened in my life even though some critical moments. First of all, the value of my deposited BTC has more than doubled since the BTC achieved at the new ATH, I really appreciate that. Now I can say to everyone that Bitcoin is my strongest financial support.
Secondly, on the 21st of Dec, I received an offer letter from my dreaming university. I got an offer letter from Ostbayerische Technische University in Germany.  :-*
Soon I will be on my way to Amberg-Weiden ❤️ in Germany to complete my bachelor's degree.
Please everyone pray for me.

Hey everyone,

First, I would like to wish you all Merry Christmas to all Christian fellows.

What I have learned in the past years is that if you made mistakes in your past (here on the forum and tried to explain but no one listened, and you moved on with it) but you are a skillful person and can provide good services to your clients and work up to the mark then you must forget about ratings and start thinking about your future.

The same happened to me I made mistakes tried everything but then I lost hope but I kept working hard for my clients made all clients happy, Now I have clients which are working with me for months and they are happy with my services and I got many positive feedbacks from them.

So in the end forget about your past - accept it - move on - work hard and earn respect. In the end, it all comes to respect and everything is not about money sometimes you have to work for free to show how worthy you are.

Regards

I thank zasad@ for providing a place to generate merit, and also provide the opportunity for me to share positive things and achievements
that I got in this forum. When the beginning of 2020 I am quite optimistic that there will be many positive things, but it turned out that after
the Bitcoin halving the Bitcoin price did not go up as I expected and plus the COVID19 pandemic was getting tense. I feel like 2020 will be
worse than 2019.

It turned out that my guess was wrong, Good things started to happen around September I was accepted into the SimpleFX signature campaign
even though it only lasted for a month. It has given me the opportunity to earn money in a pandemic situation. Then it was continued that good
things happened in October, I was accepted into the AMEPAY signature campaign for two weeks with a BTC fee. And the last positive thing I had
in December was like a Christmas present to me, I was accepted into the IOI Game's signature campaign and also the Bitcoin price made it to
the new ATH. I am very happy to end this year happily, and I thank to TheAndy500, Small Rabbit and roycilik. It has given me the opportunity
to earn income in this economic crisis situation in 2020.

When I start February 17, 2020, I don't have any idea where I need to post in or comment a thread just exploring some boards and immediately I make a thread to earn merit but the struggle is real some of the members critique my contents due to being a low-quality poster,  growing up to earn merits I start creating good content and helpful threads some of the members now appreciate this and give me some of their sMerit this gives me more motivation to create a different thread. Actually, my goal is to have an Avatar before I reach that AFAIK I have only ~60-70 merits before reaching the Full member rank I try to create a Quiz game but with the use of the c# programing but the problem is I gave the project in some instance some of the members(DdmrDdmr, LoyceV and crwth) suggested to make a website so I try to learn some javascript, HTML and CSS so I create a quiz game with the use of the website which this [GAME] Bitcointalk game (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5251833.0) I rank up to Full member. Right now I'm trying to work on another project for the bitcointalk still lacking information and knowledge so I need to work on it more I courage my self to create a new project again because of the project created by Vod, LoyceV and TryNinja publish here on our forum.

During on my progress I notice that some of the members immediately earned merit quickly such as BlackHatcoiner, Charles-Tim, and bluesnow they are my secret motivation because what if I catch up their merits, well there is no official race or conversation with them I just want to reach the amount of merit they have but still it's quite hard to me. This is my first Christmas in our forum and right now I haven't explored some of the board but I discover some of them and those board helps me a lot of there are a lot of information I can use to my future investment and helps me to build more my knowledge. Hoping I will reach another rank for the upcoming year and meet other quality members.

Thank You so much,

2020 has been such a shitshow, it has done more harm than good. However, that didn't change how some people reacted on this forum at least for all the good moments that happened here,: QS and Lauda forgiving each other was a highlight for sure. 2020 has been so fucking long I can't even tell if this happened this year or if it happened in 2019. Still fuckin sucks that Bruno isn't with us and Lauda left the forum, and a lot of OGs leaving, gives me a hard time everytime I talk about it. ~
I've read your post, tears came to my eyes. It is a fact that a lot of OGs are leaving. I'm really missing all of them, especially "Lauda, TMAN". we can't ever forget their contributions.

Is this your happy day with bitcoin trading now? really you are lucky with what the story did before and now you can reap the perfect profit.

For us, it doesn't matter not being able to vacation because of the government restrictions that have been implemented, but this is our joy to see the price of bitcoin for us to share stories here and I always remind us to keep our distance to stay safe.

There are some good experiences and achievements I got in 2020. Maybe below some of them that I can share with you.
1. I can improve my post quality, even it is a bit.
2. I am starting to contribute more to the forum in more aspects such as reporting spammers & bad posts, giving more merits among the members, ensuring to participate in my local board, etc
3. Buying BTC at the beginning of the year and start to sell it gradually at the end of the year. (lucky experience)
4. Inviting my friends to join this forum and crypto as a whole both via online or offline media. (never did it in the previous year)

Well, it may be sound a bit private or not so great. But for me, those are necessary things to happen this year.

Thanks, buddy.

I don't have many achievements in 2020, maybe the most memorable for me is that I can get 8 merits so far in 2020. Because I was
inactive in previous years, maybe the merit that I get is very small for many members on this forum. But for me the 8 merits that I get
are achievements. Another positive thing is maybe I can get a big profit from Bitcoin this year. Soon 2020 will end, I hope I can be even
better in 2021. And my target is in 2021 I can level up to become a Sr Member.

Positive things about 2020? Well, let's see.

Several personal projects, which had been in the drawer for a long time, were finally launched. Plus, I'm spending more time with my family.
I guess that's the good thing about working from home.  ;)

And, of course, I also had more time for this community. In this year, since I joined, I've learned a ton about cryptocurrencies and I've come to know some interesting people.
With my modest contributions and slow progress, I have reached the "Full Member" rank. It might not seem like a big deal to some, but I am proud of myself.

And the "Senior Member" rank is only a few merits away. :D

2020 started for me on a great note. Things then went a bit downhill due to Covid and all the different events going on in the world, as they did for many other people. That's not to say 2020 didn't have any positives though. On a personal level, I had much greater success in my career this year. And my Bitcoin holdings are also growing at a tremendous rate. And I am grateful for people like you that bring such positivity to this forum, as can be seen from the idea of this thread.

Here's to hoping 2021 brings more positive news in our lives!

This year many unfortunate situations happened. Taal Volcano erruption (January), Covid started to spread and scare us (February)
Plus the natural calamity such as storm, earthquake and fire that really affect most people here. But in light of this situations we managed to stood still and move on because everything happened for a reason.

For some of us 2020 is not really a good year but for me it is one of the best because my son is born. He is the reason why we always stay positive despite of the problems that we encountered.

In this forum I always look up to popular members (many to mention) because they are sharing their knowledge and guiding the newbies. Just want to mention @CryptopreneurBrainboss and @cabalism13 for their good deed in their respective community. They're a reputable member here as well.

On the other side bitcoin reached a new ATH and its really a best gift for us hodlers. Indeed good things happen to those who wait.

Allow me this image here, but it reflects that not everything was bad in 2020 and on the bitcoin issue that unites us all in the forum, 2021 comes with a good boost but thanks to how bitcoin resisted this rigged 2020.

I joined the Bitcointalk platform last year 2020. I am glad I got this platform where i can increase my knowledge by connecting with peoples.
The 2021 has been a great year for Bitcoin. Because Bitcoin has made its highest price to date this year.
