Or a hack/bug. Why would they need to pump the price if they are exit scamming? Don't they already own/hold the exchange's wallet with all the coins? Maybe if they are expecting greedy people to deposit their BTC, try to sell them and get them stuck there?

I found out about Exmo got hacked today, and Livecoin a few days ago, today Altilly got hacked too https://altilly.com/
I am not sure about Exmo or Livecoin being exit scams or not, but look Altilly, they mimic Livecoin behavior, i had a small amount of coins there and i tried to withdraw but because withdrawal disabled for many days now i probably lost them forever, i tried to post on Altilly post here but seems like is disabled, the reply link is missing, anyone knows where Alitilly is being discussed in this forum?

I found it

Perhaps in this way they wanted to attract as many deposits as possible in order to steal funds.

That was definitely the case there.

This trick is being used by many shady exchanges which weren't hacked too, so that they get more traffic which means more funds for them to block withdrawals, freeze accounts or any other attempt to refuse whole or a part of the funds that you deposited there.

Good thing both Coingecko and Coinmarketcap now have a warning on their Livecoin page as well so I highly doubt they get any new funds deposited there.

I can't understand how they could add the warning banner on their main page although they don't have access to their server and to their platform's backend? And why it's taking that long to fix this problem?
What about their hot/cold wallets, did they get comproised too?

The whole thing looks fishy!

I remember similar bugs occurred in several platforms, the error was updated quickly and people or who had open orders were compensated, but the persistence of the error indicates a fraud.

I was expecting the server to be shut down, claiming that the platform was hacked and then deducting 10% of clients with promises that the amount would be returned within a period of time and overtime that amount was stolen, but they seem to be greedy scammers.

this is is the best to make fake altcoin bumping.

If his domain name (livecoin.net) is still under their control, it is possible to redirect them to another server. Hackers if they really exist have access to the IP address and they do not need the web address or domain itself.
It also suspicious to me, they say that this is a long-planned attack. why they had not taken security measures earlier? Probably we will never know what's happened here.

edit: now I just visited livecoin.net it seems they haven't control under his domain name also or there are all amateurs.

The price reached 2,000,000 USDT for 1BTC and then the exchange shut down. Now there is such a warning:

It might also be something to make it appear that they were hacked not dissimilar to a distraction. Exchanges cryptcoin prices exist only in their trading engine. They can fake the price and claim that they were hacked while they pretend to be the hackers to steal the coins.
