Title: News area. Is it a bug when I click on quote Post by: tranthidung on December 26, 2020, 05:18:39 AM Normally, the News area will be displayed like this:
But if I click on the Quote button, it is broken and hyperlink will be shown in the brackets like the following screenshot. Is it a bug or only a broken display from SMF then can not be fixed? Title: Re: News area. Is it a bug when I click on quote Post by: ranochigo on December 26, 2020, 05:29:14 AM Hyperlinks are always disabled when you're trying to post something. It has always been the case for hyperlinks at the top and images in the post are displayed like this : But if you use a reply button those hyperlink will not be shown on news area. Oh, I get what you mean now.Title: Re: News area. Is it a bug when I click on quote Post by: bL4nkcode on December 26, 2020, 05:38:30 AM I just noticed it too also for edit button.

Is it a bug when I click on quote Post by: Upgrade00 on December 26, 2020, 05:49:59 AM As I can tell, it's not just affecting the news area but the entire thread; If I click on reply the images in OP be displayed the way they appear when I scroll down. But when I use quote the images are disabled, apparently for forum security, and only the imgur link is shown.
I doubt it's a bug, as it could have been designed that way right from time to recognize 'quotes, edits' and 'reply' differently. The idea could be that someone replying to a thread may need to view the whole thread while typing, but someone who is quoting some other user or editing their own reply may not need that. This is just a wild guess. Title: Re: News area. Is it a bug when I click on quote Post by: hugeblack on December 26, 2020, 08:10:28 AM No, it is not a bug, but all the things that can be clicked appear with their links, meaning that codes such as "[/img][/url]" stop working, which is a good insurance feature.
Sometimes when I have time, I do this quote to check the links, especially when I am browsing from the phone where knowing the modified links becomes difficult. So I don't consider it a bug but rather a good feature. Title: Re: News area. Is it a bug when I click on quote Post by: actmyname on December 26, 2020, 09:46:40 AM It's a security feature. Reveals the link to the URL in plaintext.
theymos just didn't bother to change it: it's been like this for a while now. It's not worth the time, anyway: who the fork needs the news when they're trying to respond to a thread? maybe if you're the type of person who meanders endlessly while in the reply box: hit alt+s already Title: Is it a bug when I click on quote Post by: Husna QA on June 04, 2021, 12:31:45 PM Sorry, I posted here and did not create a new thread.
Some time ago I made a post and quoting laszlo's post. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5253221.msg57153843#msg57153843 https://i.ibb.co/7rcMDH0/57156899.png In the quote, there is a bitcoin explorer link. After posting it turns out that the link is not clickable. While in the original post it is clickable even though it doesn't use BBCode. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=109.msg5141191#msg5141191 https://i.ibb.co/dkG8dmB/57156899.png Is this a bug? I mean people can say I'm stupid, but it was a great deal at the time. I don't think anyone could have known it would take off like this. Is it a bug when I click on quote Post by: hosseinimr93 on June 04, 2021, 01:18:50 PM ------- There are two spaces before the link posted by laszlo. If you delete one of those spaces, you will see that the hyperlink will no longer be disabled after you edit the post. I don't know whether it's a bug or it has been designed in this way for a reason. Look at the links below. I put two spaces before the second link. As you see, it's not clickable after I edit the post. https://blockchain.info/address/1XPTgDRhN8RFnzniWCddobD9iKZatrvH4 https://blockchain.info/address/1XPTgDRhN8RFnzniWCddobD9iKZatrvH4 So, this has nothing to do with quoting and can happen even when you make the post without quoting another post. Below is another example. https://twitter.com/ https://twitter.com/ Title: Re: News area. Hyperlink work fine on the first post as well as on preview. But when I edited the post I realized that the hyperlink was disabled. If the post is edited, it means that the solution must insert Code: [url][/url] I spent it all on pizza long ago: https://blockchain.info/address/1XPTgDRhN8RFnzniWCddobD9iKZatrvH4 (https://blockchain.info/address/1XPTgDRhN8RFnzniWCddobD9iKZatrvH4) 3-4 years ago there were less than 100 people frequenting this forum, and I was pretty happy to trade 10,000 coins for pizza.
