why would anyone want to waste their time listening to what owner of a terrible centralized company that feels threatened by the very existence of bitcoin has to say about it?

last year, while the decision changed in mid-2020. companies will be very easy to change decisions if it has become a measure of sustainability. I don't think it's strange what companies do with this kind of thing. well it's paypal the fact they say we are now adopting bitcoin.
This is very funny  ;D

You will see how someone would change in a few years and change their outlook on what things are. Anyways, if you focused and watched the video, you would see "Former PayPal CEO," so it's a different person throughout. Bill Harris is the one who is interviewed there, and the current PayPal CEO is Daniel Schulman.

I hope you would really pay attention to these kind of details because it's spreading fake news.

Well... pretty normal for a 'big boss'. They have to answer to the public, PR, etc.
Marketing conditions have changed, Bitcoin price has changed. PP are reacting. Their PBTC is a clever way to stay away from crypto and offer 'crypto' to clients at the same time.

That's the reasons why you shouldn't trust PayPal lols , before they are against Bitcoin, but right now they are continue buying newly mined Bitcoin,  what is the reason and suddenly they changed their beliefs and now bitcoin is included in their platform and you can now buy and sell using their platform. They are just afraid because  Bitcoin is their biggest competitors for online payment and a big lost for them if many choose to use Bitcoin for online payment than using their platform.

These people with "nice suit" are businessman and they mean only money, and nothing else! You will soon see JPM Chase to roll out crypto related services while its CEO is an ardent bitcoin hater! Nothing is permanent in the world of politics and business!

But anyway, I don't think anyone should use Pypal's crypto services because there is no way to withdraw your bitcoins from their coffers! It's a bigger scam anyway!

Does that mean that you have earned enough and built a wealthy life through crypto having that said? it was said before that many don't like bitcoin and it is understandable because they don't understand it and it's against their business principle. But just like the early adopters said that it's just the start and everyone will adopt it afterwards.

We're done with those people CEO, experts, economists or any financial title that makes them above than others telling things negative about bitcoin. It doesn't matter anymore if they've said it in the past like Dimon or there will be more in the future. The most important matter that we have is that we're looking in to the bullish trend of bitcoin.

Not only Paypal but in other companies as well. They would say some negative words towards things and if they do find out that they can benefit nor
wont able to suppress it down then they would accept it later on.

So any sentiment out of these big companies or words came from CEO's or similar isnt really something for someone to hear and believe of easily.

This is why we should really be careful when it comes to fundamentals.

Did they buy anything though? Paxos is handling their btc and from what i understood Paypal isn't touching btc at all. Paypal merely acts as a fiat ramp. Someone please correct me if i am have misunderstood something.

And you meant SEC has possibility to did the same like paypal? Paypal was changing their opinion about bitcoin after there have been lots of changes in the market. it's not the same like when SEC was suing ripple.
BTC is fully utility coin and that's why US is welcome for bitcoin to be used there.

Thats the truth with the cryptocurrency adoption of PayPal. Looking upon the growth happening with bitcoin, more companies started to have their services integrated with cryptocurrency. As a result PayPal CEO wants to widening his market without getting into risk. This is why paxos is handling all the transactions.

They do not change base on sustainability, they adapt because they see profit in bitcoin. The reason that the former CEO says that about bitcoin is that is because of the volatility which is understandable at that time, why would you hedge on something that could go down overnight, right? Pretty ironic that they changed their stance and integrate bitcoin in their payment system.

It is not that hard to understand. Back then Bitcoin was being hyped as a mode of payment, and as a challenger to banks and payment processors such as PayPal. But it is true that Bitcoin never gained much traction as a payment method. Nowadays, it is mostly being used as an investment asset and therefore PayPal no longer considers it as a competitor. So I don't think that there is anything surprising with this video, or with the stance currently being taken by PayPal regarding cryptocurrency.

There are lots of people saying bad about bitcoin because they don't believed the ideology of what we are into that's why they neglect and denied the true essence of bitcoin. Now, they changed minds and now starting to accumulate bitcoin and on paypal now integrating bitcoin into their payment system. It's a good thing that they finally realizing the ideology and starting to embrace the adoption.

On the contrary, it is very hard for the vast majority of folks to understand the actual motives behind PayPal's decision to integrate bitcoin into their platform. They consider that it is through centralized platforms of the fiat system bitcoin will be widely adopted. This is a common misconception, bitcoin doesn't need PayPal to be efficient and widely used. It can and should be used as an independent payment system without any additional intermediaries. PayPal understands this and is trying to create a system in which it will be necessary to ask permission in order to use bitcoin. What they do is take a decentralized sovereign payment system, integrate it into the platform, and impose all sorts of restrictions. They make it so worthless and inefficient that users will likely avoid using it whatsoever.

Anyone can create wallet called paypal or anyone other.
.. Step one create wallet name it paypal.
Step 2 add some digits wich representing the Bitcoin but the fact that users cant transfer out the crypto means they even not have any real crypto.

I don't think he changed his point of view. He just realized that now a huge fortune can be made on bitcoin, since all the prerequisites indicate an increase in the price of bitcoin, so in order not to be left out, he decided to take such a step. In fact, he did the right thing, by his own decision he raised the cost of bitcoin to the moon. Maybe he bought bitcoins before that, so he will make money anyway and attract a lot of attention to his PayPal company, which again will bring him a profit.

PayPal doesn't need Bitcoin, and similarly Bitcoin doesn't need PayPal. But a healthy relationship between the two can be mutually beneficial. For the vast majority of the ordinary people, purchase and storage of Bitcoin is a big headache. PayPal simplify these two aspects and ordinary people are able to purchase Bitcoins with their PayPal balance or credit card for the first time. Restrictions will be there, and that's the reason I believe that the vast majority of the PayPal Bitcoin users will move their coins to personal wallets after sometime.
