no other coin is more profitable than BTC and ETH. if we talk about the long term, there are many possibilities that will happen, and among them there will be failures. So looking at this, the coins with a low risk of failure and are able to recover faster are only btc and eth.

so there may be a lot of coins with a 100x or 1000x higher potential, but only these 2 coins can give us a guarantee for the future.

Bitcoin and Ethereum.

No further explanation. They are the top 2 coins right now and if you are a conservative trader then just invest into these coins. Don't include XRP in your list since it is a shitcoin for now :D. If you are an aggressive investor and not scared of huge losses then you might consider the coins below but at least on the top 100 in terms of market cap. Don't buy illiquid coins/tokens.

Newbies who are just entering the field of cryptocurrency may not know what to buy. As a newcomer, you can choose platform currency. The platform currency is controlled by the exchange, and the development of the exchange is good, and the prospect of the platform currency is good. ZB is produced by the big platform ZB.com and has great potential for growth.

In my opinion, Bitcoin is a great opportunity for long-term investment because Bitcoin As a limited asset and cannot be printed arbitrarily, speculatively is clearly very promising in the long term. In fact, many investors have begun shifting their funds to Bitcoin because of clear profit offers and transparent transaction processes and price movements.

In terms of long term crypto holding, BTC won't fail you. You can look at the chart and history that investing in Bitcoin would yield you reward in the long run. Especially now when companies and large institutions are pouring their money in the market. This is probably one of the best time to invest in Bitcoin because of the support of the larger whales.

Bitcoin and ethereum only focus on that two coins if you are looking for long term investment you can hold it for years without worrying that it will be dead soon. Unlike other altcoin that only porpuse is to pump and dump  .that two coins is proven have strong demand that will never fade what ever happen to other altcoins.

If you want the best peace of mind Ethereum and bitcoin are the best crypto projects you can rely on, you can comfortably hold them for a very long term with no worries compared to many other altcoins, whatever happens on the holding journey they are best know to be the first to recover

The answer is already obvious though, the majority would choose bitcoin and ethereum when talking about long-term investment. You already mentioned giant companies focusing on them so both already have a stronger foundation compared to other coins and there is more assurance that it will still be doing good after a long period. While there's more risk linked if you are planning to invest in other altcoins for the long term.

I think everyone has given your advice very clearly and precisely. that BTC and ETH are assets that should not be missed to have, either long term or short term. as long as you know when is the right time to buy it. because BTC and ETH are like a married couple who have many offspring, namely Tokens/altcoin :)

With the exception of Ripple which will soon become a death coin, I prefer investing in the top 10 coins in the market, they have the volume they have trust and the liquidity, that is if you have a big fund to invest if you only have small funds then choose Bitcoin and Ethereum, you can make a profit from these two coins both on the long term and short term.

Invest on Blockchain project that focus on scalability solution. Soon in the future, this project will be the most useful in case mass adaption will occur since demand will increase dramatically and a single blockchain will not be able to handle it alone. I don't want to mention specific project because its your personal investment. You can always DYOR to find them.

Bitcoin and ethereum could become your first consideration and then you can stick into the top 10 or 50 coinmarketcap because the coins that can be listed on these positions were reliable to be used as investment too. You should also learn to diversify your portfolios into the some promising altcoins.
Learn about how to enter in the market at the correct time. that will give you more chance to gain profit from the market.

Long term is relative term in Crypto, most of the tokens and coins from 2016 are dead or low volume and this is the fate of 90% of the tokens in the space. Unless you are holding BTC do know invest into any project and think this is long term because things move fast in the space

When it come in altcoins having long term plan is not suitable especially if it's not included in top altcoins or no entity or government SEC uses or accepts it uses meaning those coins that have not much use in everyday life or not acknowledge by governments may not last long in the market. We need to be very careful on how long we will invest since we never know up to when that project will keep their coin or how long they can sustain the business.

Yeah staying in coins from top10 or 20 is the best thing to do because they have got the maximum acceptance in the market already. Analysing the current prices i think eth and tron are good to buy as they are still below previous highs so potential is high.

The main advantage of investing long-term in cryptocurrency investing is maximizing profits, and minimizing losses.
and in my opinion besides bitcoin the best choice for long-term investment, the top 10 altcoins can also be relied upon for long-term investment and besides that are coins that have been around for a long time and are trusted which in my opinion will provide good returns in the long term and most importantly have to be patient .

not all in the top 10 alts can be trusted right now. just look at xrp which is in the top 4, and this one is somewhat fragile to touch because of the current issue with the SEC. imo, btc and eth are the safer choices for the moment. eth with the ongoing development with their 2.0 version will likely increase their price once phase 1/2 has been rolled out. though there are promising ones like BNB and LINK but need to be very careful if you want to store it for long term. what im trying to say here is that if you are eyeing for long term investment, you need to carefully choose those alts as no one will choose that for you. and to play safe, better trust the established alts.

No need for further explanation, just stick with BTC.

Jumping on other coins requires advanced self-knowledge and not just because others suggested it to you. Results may vary depends on how we managed it.

There are promising and good coins out there but since your mindset is already targeting a good return out to your hard-earned money at 100%, it's difficult to give you a set of lists that will come to my own preference. Spend time analyzing on your own and try to pick only at least 1 or 2 for now if you really want to test other altcoins.

Bitcoin and gold are relative good virtual currencies in the blockchain space that you can invest in on the long term. Bitcoin is bullish long term while gold has always retained  a consistent value over the years. You should not worry about centralized institutions that tries to privatize bitcoin; focus on satoshi itself and do our own research.

Stick with top 10 excluding stable coins then you're good to go.
Dont tend to go with low ranks or low caps just for the hope on making tons of profits because its never been a precise thing that every low cap will rise.
It is some sort needing some luck for it to be pumped by some whales and if you do able to buy it early then youre lucky but in most cases
people who do make out investment with this do really end up on holding shitcoin and useless tokens into their stash.

Here you need to be careful if you want to save altcoins for the long term, because at the moment altcoins can not promise
100% profit. Unless you trade short trades, maybe you can  take a little  advantage of the altcoin  habits when  they pump
and dump. If you really want long-term altcoins, maybe you can choose ethereum.

contrary to what a lot of people will say, i dont believe investment in cryptocurrencies is a viable long term investment for most people
this is especially true for people who do not have a lot of funds to invest.
this is because the level of uncertainty surrounding cryptos is too high and you never really know the right crypto to invest in

You've just had the idea and said the best crypto to invest in the long term, bitcoin. You can add Ethereum with bitcoin as these two are the most preferred but put bitcoin into priority. Is that a problem if most of the biggest financial institutions are investing in bitcoin?
They are helping it to grow in value and that's why you don't have to doubt if you know what's in it for bitcoin. Ride the train while you can.

If you are looking for stable altcoins, I would suggest you Ether, Binance coin and Polkadot.

But if you want to make a bigger ROI, you will have to risk with newer projects and IEOs.

It must be some legit coins like LINK, binance or any other top coins that already developed a proper product. There only reason caused by those coins have long term product that can generate the profit for the platform. Binance coin is fully utilized coin and it might go even higher in the future. You should avoid to invest in the shit scam coin.
It's not all of top ranker coins are worthy to be owned.

I personally think that the most suitable coin for long-term investment is Bitcoin. Bitcoin is an old currency. Moreover, Bitcoin has now broken its historical high, and the prospects must be good. It's time to go to ZB.com to buy more Bitcoin.

Yes, I think so too. For long-term investment, it must be Bitcoin. Bitcoin has experienced many plunges and surges, as well as management and control issues, but it still has come to the present firmly, indicating that it has passed the test of time. I also plan to go to ZB.com to stock up.

It's no brainer that the long term coin is the one which has huge market capitalization otherwise it's gonna have such huge volatiltiy that within days the price could change drastically.
You just should stick with major coins if you really intend to invest for long-term or do staking at the same time while waiting for another bullrun.

Also, you need to consider how healthy the people behind a projects are and what I mean by that is their planning, roadmap, etc.

Not all coins or tokens that come from the trading platform are eligible for the long term. some of the coins that come from platforms like TEN don't have a very good development. Their coins are traded at very cheap prices. The only good coins I see coming from the platform are BNB from Binance, OKB from OKEx, and HT from Huobi. other than that I don't believe the platform coins are any good in the long run.

I support ETH. Ethereum is almost impossible to break the chain after you choose a platform, it just makes less money. But Bitcoin is different. It may collapse at any time. And now some people are playing QETH on ZB.com. Its liquidity is guaranteed, Compared to the traditional eth, it was different. This 0.1ETH saves tens of thousands of yuan. And the node is maintained by the platform, and the income is issued according to ETH2.0.

I think you need to first decide on the number of coins you want to hold this will give you a clear picture of how your Portfolio will look like, but most preferably holding 2 or most 4 is better, so that you don't go about spreading your funds on shitcoins.
Now before choosing a coin for long term holding since that is your category, you need to understand what the team are working on and their long term goal as well, it is this long term goals of the team that will make your long term holding worth it, if not, you will lose out at the end. Therefore, with all these in mind, I believe the best coins to hold for long term is Bitcoin and Ethereum, these coins till date are the best in all ways. Also, if it interests you to increase it to four, then BNB and ADA can be on the list.

If you are looking for long term investment, best go for the ones that has been in the market for a while and is well known. Go for coins that has active community and huge support. Coins like you said, bitcoins and ethereum are the one with least risks for long term investment. Avoid those that are new or aren't well known. Don't fall for the hyped coins. Most of them are scam and shit coins.
If you still want to invest in different altcoins, then put most of the investment in bitcoin and ethereum while using the rest for other coins.

Apart from Bitcoin, very few of the altcoins are suitable for long term investment. Check the exchange rate of these altcoins versus Bitcoin and you can see that they have lost most of their value during the last 2-3 years. Only a few have moved in the other direction.

Stablecoins are also available now. QC is a stable currency anchored to the RMB 1:1. Everyone says it is the king of stable coins. ZB now supports USDT/QC spot trading and 10 times leverage trading. After all, it is a stable currency, and the income is still very stable.

I don't know why noobs always have to post their stablecoin BS, in the discussions about investment. Is it that hard to understand the basic definition of stablecoin?

I believe all the people that said bitcoin are right. I understand that you may like other coins and tokens as well but I find them too centralized for my taste. I am not going to talk about the lower end of the deal, but look at the big ones? XRP has Ripple company, BNB has binance and cz, ETH has foundation with vitalik at the head, LTC has charlie lee and foundation, EOS had it, Tron has justin sun, BCH has justin wu and roger ver, bsv has craigh wright.

I can go on with my list but basically all the coins you see are either not decentralized or they are disguised as decentralized with people supporting the centralized organization to change it whenever they want. If ETH can turn into ETH 2.0 and a new thing, who says others can't be? Which is why I like bitcoin more than I like all other ones and I still support it to this day.

There would be no long talks anymore for it seems like majority of the answers are leading to an obvious fact that it is preferable to each and everyone to get into Bitcoin if you do really want a crypto currency that is good for long term investment that is promising and will not let you down. There would not be any other sure crypto currency that can give so much assurance that Bitcoin can give. Yes, there are other promising and good crypto currencies out there in the market but if you are really looking for a quality crypto that is good for long term investment, it is commendable to get into Bitcoin directly.

For long term investment, I will suggest you buy Bitcoin as much as you can. Although Bitcoin price is at an all-time high now, for the long term bitcoin is the safest investment that I believe. Besides Bitcoin, try to hold some Ethereum, litecoin, etc.

Also, don't forget about altcoin, I strongly believe another altcoin season coming soon. Try to do your own research and buy some altcoin for short term/midterm/long term.

I'm guessing what your aim is by hunting for altcoins that are suited for long term investment, Ethereum and bitcoin thus fit better here but still I prefer investing on more than two altcoins, yearly crypto space is reshaping and in the future there is possibility that other altcoins might gains the heart of crypto lovers, id say give a room for more than two coins in your portfolio

All you need to do is make sure the altcoins are very useful and will be useful for many years to come and also make sure that the team are experts too, do it's safer to invest on what you can afford to lose just in case but two heads are better than one they say, create more rooms for better future

Taking a look at the crypto industry, there are lot of potential crypto asset to invest into for a short and long term. But as an investors, long term is more preferable for me , from your opinion, what will be the best crypto asset that worth my hard earn money l can invest into  for a long term. although bitcoin and ethereum are center of focus for big financial institutions such paypal and the rest of the fintech giants.

looks like you have answered your question, that is Bitcoin and Ethereum, because I personally definitely answer Bitcoin and Ethereum to be used as a long-term investment, of course I choose Bitcoin and Ethereum because I believe in the future the price of Bitcoin and Ethereum will always increase, then no other cryptocurrency can replace Bitcoin and Ethereum for long-term investment, because many people already believe to investing in Bitcoin and Ethereum, so of course the price of Bitcoin and Ethereum will definitely increase very high from the current price in the future, that's why I think Bitcoin and Ethereum is the right choice for long-term investment.

I checked MOSS project according this link. It has done a lot for the cleaning the planet against pollution. It is good that blockchain can be used to solve the environment problems.
How far has the project gone now? and what progress has the project made for the environment? I think it will be very interesting too if you want to tell a complete story in this forum, maybe someone is interested in the project.
You should never believe with such project, it doesn't make sense to use blockchain to solve the pollution. This crap and I should remind you that the pollution happen caused by we are consuming more and more energy, that was also coming from the daily usage of motorcycle , car or many more. The only solution that can solve this project is the human itself. There's no reason for blockchain can be used to solve this problem.
That's another shit money grabber scam project. that will never be a success project and it's just another project that sells the gimmick to the buyers.

Stablecoins are also available now. QC is a stable currency anchored to the RMB 1:1. Everyone says it is the king of stable coins. ZB now supports USDT/QC spot trading and 10 times leverage trading. After all, it is a stable currency, and the income is still very stable.

Just browse the top 10 currencies with good capitalization at the moment. Tokens that are invested in more often than others are valued higher in the market. If your chosen exchange does not have, for example, any coin that seems promising to you, look at the rating below.

They are the best 2 coins at the present time and in the event that you are a moderate merchant, at that point simply put into these coins. These are the Bitcoin and Ethereum. Try not to remember XRP for your rundown since it is a shitcoin until further notice Messy.

I think you should do your own research after reading the reply here.  Each one of us have our own set of portfolio and would gladly share it to whoever asks which one is a good investment so you would read different cryptocurrency and might confuse you.  So you should weigh each one's reply and rate the stated cryptocurrency according to what you have learned.

That said I have my own set of portfolio and will share one of them and that is Utrust, of course, Bitcoin, ETH and other top 10 cryptocurrency in the market is always worth investing (except XRP for now)

Based from the posts here, a lot of users have confidence with the combination of btc and eth to be included as part of long-term investment.
And on my end, I also believe in these 2 cryptocurrencies. They are pretty much well-established in the crypto market.
And eth, has very solid foundation which, I believe will not go down just like what XRP is now facing with the authorities.
Other than btc and eth, one should really be very careful in choosing the project as you are looking at long-term scenario here.
If you feel that the project is about to go down, better discard the asset before it hits rock bottom.

What happened to XRP made me realize that the top 10 cryptocurrencies are not necessarily safe for long-term investments. So my advice is
to keep investing in Bitcoin and Ethereum for now if you want big profits in the future. I haven't found any other coins that are safer than Bitcoin
and Ethereum, so don't risk investing in other coins. Moreover, the prices of Bitcoin and Ethereum have continued to skyrocket, so there is no doubt
that Bitcoin and Ethereum are the best choices for now and are the most suitable for long-term investments.

In my opinion there are two main currencies that deserve to be named 'long-term' investments. The first one is Bitcoin and the second one is Ethereum.

These are the Adam and Eve, if you like, of all the cryptos.

The thing is if any other alt goes up in value at a crazy fast and high rate, by default, its 'parents' will inherit the momentum. Similarly, if BTC or ETH pumps so will most of the other reliable alts.

XRP case was an unfortunate case and the fundamental reasons still stay the same for this project. Maybe the lawsuit against the XRP team will end well for this project and the price recovery will bring another reason for next alt season. The decreasing BTC dominance will bring the dead altcoins back to life sooner or later. Unless the BTC dominance falls, there is no single reason to enter the new altcoins trades, the whole new level will be open for the altcoin investors if BTC dominance can go back down 40%.

It depends on how much money you have to invest. If you have a lot of money, you can invest in safer large cap assets like BTC and ETH. If you don't have a lot of money to invest you need to buy microcaps like UNCX and 0xMR.
