Title: Newbie seeking for a answer
Post by: Zotak337 on December 29, 2020, 06:23:09 AM
Is Satoshi Nakamoto the founder of bitcointalk forum as well? I checked his profile and it says founder instead of legendary member or hero members like others, if he is the founder then I can easily add this to one of my reasons why this is the best place for crypto new comers to be. Thanks

Yes. Sirius was the second member and was in control of the domain and hosting for an extended period of time. After that, Theymos took over as the administrator in 2012 IIRC.

Yes, he is the founder of this community.

satoshi (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3) announced it here: Welcome to the new Bitcoin forum! (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5.0)

You could say that it's his privilege being the founder having a tagged of "founder" than commoners like legendary and hero member someone should be an exemption. Even up to now, that he isn't not active anymore, the title Founder should remain known and must be known to many. Cause literally he is the Founder of digital crupto currency since he started bitcoin.

Multiple YES has already been awarded to your question and if it matters to you that much then its alright but the thing is, the Satoshi Nakamoto has not been inactive for a while now for obvious reasons avail to the founder but then, the perseverance of the group is left to the hands of set ups by the founder and the various seat of authority in the forum. So, its not just about the founder when it comes to the success of bitcointalk but the bitcoin community which you are now a part of and the sense of duty you owe yourself to consume its knowledge and contribute to the store of knowledge in the forum.

Yea, that's correct as theymos has confirmed it

There was a period where both Sirius and I were active administrators. For convenience, I reckon Jan 1, 2012 as when I became head administrator, though it was actually a gradual transition starting before and ending after that.

Satoshi is indeed the founder, but he is not the first member on this forum. Here is him , user with UID=1 admin (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1)

Those were test accounts, which were (presumably) created by Satoshi. So technically, he's the first user because he controlled the test account at that time.

Hmm, now who says that this isn't the right place to be for any crypto related discussions and also finding answers about a project too? There are many things one can learn on this forum, thanks to satoshi and other admins 🙏, I honestly don't need other crypto forums since everything started from bitcointalk forum...

So what do you already know about Satoshi Nakamoto and what has he said in this forum.
However, if you believe that Satoshi is the founder of this forum, you should also know what he has to say about the Bitcointalk and Bitcoin forums.

You know the name. You should also be aware of some of the talk in this forum about Satoshi by members in this forum.

For that you can see below, what is being discussed about Satoshi.
Topic: I gathered every Satoshi Nakamoto thread. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5271796.0)

I hope your can add information for you about Satoshi while he was still active here and also member of this forum.

Probably you've confused about satoshi the rank, instead of Legendary or Hero member as you can see, a Sr. member rank next to the "founder" badge under his name that found on the satoshi's profile (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3).  The reason is, that account was inactive a long time ago and didn't reach the requirement to rank even though satoshi was received enough merits to rank up, supposedly.  The Merit & new rank requirements (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0) was introduced by theymos (admin) on January 24, 2018, and satoshi was inactive since December 3, 2010, so that account ain't able to rank up due to the requirements needed.

And you're right, this forum is the best place for all crypto enthusiasts.  Welcome on board and this is the best place to hang out while learning different discussions relating to blockchain technology or cryptos in general.

Well said, this is why I took project's ANN very serious on this forum, any projects that don't have one on this forum is a big no for me, bitcointalk forum is very popular and I expect smart people to find their way up here to gain knowledge about crypto and also stay on the right track

The question has been answered already, but let me just clarify one thing that Theymos is not satoshi. As he stated in that post I read last time.
