The doge community is probably one of the most generous of the cryptocurreny community. Not sure why they get so much flak from r/bitcoin.

Probably because it's a currency used largely by annoying morons, regardless of how generous they are.

There is a large thread in the alt coin forum, and it's also mentioned several times in the main DOGE thread.

this is actually a pretty cool idea. Even though i hate the doge memes and what not. i like this type of thing and it would raise so much attention toward doge and crypto currencys n general

This is good promotional idea. I wonder if its possible to get the driver's helmet customized to doge's head. More people may donate even more doge to that cause.  ;D

I guess Bitcoin is 'serious business' and doge is just a 'joke' for the Bitcoin community. It can't comprehend a fact that something that does not have a 'global economic idea' behind can be so big.

P.S. I'm not dogecoin fan or something, just love the concept. Making something real and good for other people (I mean all dogecoin donations) out of internet meme is the thing I could not even imagine.

Wow I'm really just now becoming aware of these charitable events and I'm sort of shocked.  I wonder what is next on the agenda for the Doge charities.  This coin is on a roll regardless of what people think about it an impression has been made there is no doubt.
