thanks a lot for the heads-up and for the status update. Notes look great.

Does the "short supply" means that a certain amount of notes were printed/created, and when/if sold out, those will not get reprinted again? If not mistaken, you usually announce the total production mintage of each note release, in advance...

These notes were announced as unlimited. However...

In short, we have only been able to print and ship 100 pcs of the 1mbtc, and 66 of the non demom. The goal was to get them ready for sale before the end of the year.

The printing quantity is unlimited but is divided up on series & date of production. So once 2A-U sells out, it will be at least 1 1/2 months before we can sell more.

Also the serial numbers are not refreshed on each series. So essentially this is the first batch.


Non Denom:
66 pcs were produced in 2020. Series 2A-U (ND) - 06/12/2020
More coming in 2021 under Series 2B-U(ND) 2021.

1 mbtc Denom:
100 pcs were produced in 2020. Series 2A-U - 02/12/2020
More coming in 2021 under Series 2B-U (ND) 2021.

I recall that you mentioned (in the other topic) that for this series "only major difference is the total production run and change from hologram to scratch off style protection", and you prolly said before, about the unlimited mintage.

However, I got slightly confused with the term "short supply"

Received mine in mail recently. Great work of art I must say.

I have a question and was hoping you could answer that. Is the private key under the hologram in mini format or is it in base58 format?

I couldn't find this information on your website and I don't wanna peel off the hologram to find that out :D

Also wondering whether these are waterproof or not.

I've put a polymerbit note in a glass of water before and it didn't do anything to it. it's quite interesting.

As for one with a holo in water for any amout of time ??? No idea! :P

Please be advised:

This was on our Polymer notes. The STC paper is not waterproof! It is a cotton linen blend similar to US currency.

We have however printed the keys in a non water soluble method. If the note gets wet, it will damage the design but the keys should still be recoverable.

But if the paper disintegrates then unfortunately then there's very little chance. This could happen if a note gets flooded for a long time.

Our testing showed that the notes get damaged but the keys remain legible. This test was conducted by having tap water at full blast on top the note for a duration of 60 seconds.

Hey there, so they are in Base58. Legacy keys. We are working on more modern and less expensive solutions (fee wise) this year.

They aren't waterproof. See comment above.

I just got some waterproof paper to test with my next set of keys.

I assume its the special paper Krog found!

We used something similar in our early days called Teslin.

@DaveF sent it to me - sent me 2 or 3 sheets to test. but yes, it was Krog that identified the one I plan to purchase then DaveF sent me some of what he has and I for the life of me atm cannot remember what it is/was called.

my notes arrived today and are of course loaded with the obligatory value of 0.001BTC ;)
