Title: What you'll do when BTC price will go down heavily and fast?

assuming the history of BTC from 2017 - 2018 will repeat this year, what you'll do with your BTC?

Other.

I'll keep regularly buying bitcoin, I'll keep regularly spending and using bitcoin, and I'll keep regularly putting some of what I buy in to long term cold storage. Bitcoin wasn't designed just to be held long term or as a medium to buy and trade altcoins - it was a designed as a currency, and I'll keep using it as a currency regardless of what its fiat price is.

Keep holding.
As no one has seen the future right? What we can just do is based on assumptions predict the next price.
But as I need profit therefore i am ready to take risk.
I have a strong belief that BTC won’t disappoint me with the price.
Rather i have bought some BTCs when the price was around 13k USD.
So i am assuming BTC will now keep the fix price of around 22 to 23k USD, and that will be still profitable for me.
Anything can happen, so let’s hope for the best.

in my opinion other.
because if the option you make is for those who hold bitcoin, if not, the answer is we will buy bitcoin at a fairly cheap price and spend as much of our money as possible.
and of course for bitcoin users, it's clear that the options you make can be converted to fiat, to USD, or even if you don't have time to convert, they will automatically become stoic holders :)

what you'll do with your BTC?

I'll do most probably what I usually do: sell some of my bitcoin earnings and also hold some.
The ratio depends though on the price, trend and... the household needs.

Although more options would have been better (at least one for BTFD), it's good to see you've put check boxes instead of radio buttons.

Which drop are you counting?

Last time I think we did $17k-->13k-->$23k. And last time I sold at $8.5k and $6k but I was just fiddling with what happens in a pump and dump considering it was my first and I was busy with quite a few other things at the time.

I imagine I'll sell some as we get in the region of $250k+ (whenever that happens) and sell some towards the bottom again but I keep using it for buying groceries and other stuff so I'll also keep doing that regardless of price while it's still possible.

Unless there is any major fundamental event that somehow overpowers all Bitcoin's advantages (aka a flaw found in the code - which probability is close to zero) I see no reason to sell Bitcoin even on violent 50-70% dips. I mean the historical yearly gains are self-explanatory to be honest. BUT, someone who is trading Bitcoin and not keeping it for long-term, might sell much quicker in the event of such a retrace.

If you are a holder then you wouldnt make any further step but just simply hold but if you are a short term investor then you would definitely consider on putting it to fiat.

The question here is that, how you would able to know if the price will be going down that fast? or that would only be just a small correction or a typical price pullback?

We wouldnt able to know if we dont able to see those actual numbers or movements. In times like this then its a typical one for people to get panicked.

Whenever the price spike so high, most traders do convert it to stablecoin as far as i know. There is always a possibility that price will plunge sharply when it spike up to 10%. With BTC its more than that. Its best to turn it into stablecoin for you to be able to buy the BTC back at cheaper price than turning it into fiat. This is why its recommended to stay on DEX where you can stay on exchanges while you have your coins with you on your wallet but  easy to get to buy back.

I am an active trader, so it's obvious that I have a stop loss active on the BTC/USDT trading pair. In case the price drops so fast, It will be sold off foe USDT after which I will rebuy shortly after recovering from the deep.

If the price drop gets me trading that day, I could also just short BTC to make some profits during the drop

I'm already numb if bitcoin goes down heavily again.

What's new with that? we like seeing it go up quickly and we hate it to see go down. I'll just do the same and nothing will change even if bitcoin goes on high, I'll keep holding, buying, and selling at any point that I like.

Also will still shop using it.  :P

It is not desirable for anyone. Nevertheless, since Bitcoin is flammable, there are ups and fluffs. When the price will go down heavily and very promptly, there is nonentity to do but hold. If there is no scramble, hold on until a reasonable grade is achieved.

Buy dips are always the best option for bitcoin. but I think it will be difficult because now many people have started using bitcoin regularly and many big companies are already investing in bitcoin. so yes, use it, buy dip, hold, simple.

This should be obvious, once Bitcoin or any other coin hits a wall after a long uptrend, you should chart it up and look for a good short entry and make profits out of it. You just trade whenever there's a huge shake up of market to maximize your profits, either day trading or scalping would be good.

You might be wondering what I'm saying, I'm not promoting or anything but trading in futures and not just hodl will gives you a huge advantage to make more money. But of course you need to study first before engaging in Trading. Trade slowly with very small amount of entry, make it consistent until you're all familiar with the strategies and stuff in Trading.

We have different perspective about it in my case I would covert it to fiat then wait for a while and buy again, sometimes it's better to cashout your money so you would be able to buy more Bitcoin my current goal was not to have more USD in value but to have more Bitcoin as much as possible.

BTC went down from 2017 to 2018. It was not a good year for BTC, if you are being specific about this time period. What to do during a bear run if you ask me, in general - I tell people to put aside the negativity and use their available liquid cash to buy bitcoin if feasible.

While 2017 was a bull run for bitcoin, at that time you sell bitcoin and hold the fiat so that you could buy during the bear run.

See this cycle was nicely happening in that 2017-2018 but many people bought at the then ATH of 19k USD and got busted in 2018 bear run. What we should learn is not to repeat such a mistake, because it costed investors a lot.

That's actually a good question I haven't think of it and what I just do is to wait for the Bitcoins price to increase but I forgot that the price will be going down anytime soon.
I think there are many ways I could do such as buying more at lower price but I think it's more better if you are going to sell and jump before crashing
and just by again at the lower point but also I could just reinvest my coins to other projects maybe buy some altcoins?

I really do not care what the "price" of bitcoin does directly, obviously I care that bitcoin is loved and liked and everyone supports it, and that means bitcoin should be high price if all of those are true, and when the price goes down unfortunately many people sell and leave, which I do not want. But that doesn't mean anything for my own finances, it is irrelevant to my finances.

I mean I could have a lot more bitcoin or a lot less bitcoin and I know that in the end bitcoin will go up, you could have bitcoin 10k tomorrow if you want and I wouldn't worry about it. A friend of mine bought at 2017 peak and he was upset, a year later he sold all his coins, I told him he bought at the peak and he should wait years if he has to, and he didn't and got out, right now it is 50%+ higher than the price he bought, which is obviously a big profit if he waited. That is what I believe in.

Even if this does not happen this month and important correction is needed since the price has grown significantly during the last months, I really think that this time around the crash can be even larger than last time, a great deal of institutional investors despite their claims are invested in bitcoin just to get profits, so if bitcoin begins to go down they will sell and many people knowing what happened in 2017 are not going to remain still and will sell as well generating an impressive flash crash in the process.

As a trader, the goal is always to preserve the value of your capital and funds at all times. Here's how I'll handle the situation in case Bitcoin BTC goes the wrong way:

- Convert my funds to a stablecoin (eg: USDT)
- Wait till Bitcoin drops to a considerate amount
- Buy back in and end up with more BTC value than before.
- Keep DCA (Dollar cost average) if it continues to go down.

If anyone waits for Bitcoin to pump and then watch it go down too, then; it's safe to say he/she is an investor rather than a trader. Leaving it and not selling the top to buy again when it's lower means you're leaving money on the table and might not get so much out of the recent Bitcoin growth.

For sure the recent correction where the price had gone down back in 29k where people had presumed already that this one is already the dump where some people been waiting.  ;D

What i had done? I have already sold out my coins when it was still in 34 or 33k in price and waited for some pullback and it did really happen. It might not really be that too deep as anticipated
but i do able to buyback when it hits up in 29k which is a nice entry point.

If you do look at on the current price then that was a 2k in profits in a short span of time.Im an active trader most of the time and thats the beauty when your gut tell
you on when to enter and of course it will be corresponding into your own knowledge.

But those of you who have btc and bought more... don't you only want btc to go down if you want to buy more?  Then again if you already have a lot of btc, wouldn't you want the btc price is go up?

Its like if you have little btc and want more... obviously you want price to go down so you can buy more.  But if you have enough btc... then obviously you want btc price to only go up.  But what about if you have btc but want to buy ... but still hold btc?  Its like okay go down in price when i want to buy... but don't go too down?  Or that doesn't matter if you are long term holding?

It all depends what is your idea of BTC and where you think it will go. If you think it will go to 100k its more or less same to buy yesterday or today. But if you look on less profit then you look on graphs and you can get pretty good idea when to buy...

I sold already and I will buy when I see the opportunity to have Bitcoin at a cheaper price, I know this is going to happen its just a matter of time. Don’t over confident with Bitcoin, what goes up will go down soon so the correction is inevitable as well with Bitcoin. Make a strategy now and save some funds so you can buy more Bitcoin when it becomes cheap again.

It is interesting to see how much people's perspective about BTC has changed in the past few weeks. It was surprising to see that most people feel strong about BTC and they'd be willing to hold it through good n' bad.

The one thing I would not do for sure is convert it to fiat. You will always need crypto to buy more crypto, you can't be in only for the ups, you'll miss a lot of opportunities.

If history repeats itself like 2017/2018, the price of Bitcoin will eventually fall very quickly. What I do as quickly as possible convert to stable coins,
after that wait until Bitcoin has dropped really deep. I will start buying back Bitcoin, because in my experience if we keep holding and don't
do anything it will take a long time for our losses to recover. Meanwhile, if we convert to fiat, we will accidentally use it to buy something, let alone
convert to altcoins where the losses will be even greater.

100k is out of the realistic spectrum for now. Current price saw a downtrend from 34k to 30k - thats is a heavy resistance and selling pressure. The more realistic target would be the 35k USD provided the current floor pricing holds at 30k.

Making unrealistic claims to bitcoin price and holding till that is reached is being stubborn. 100k will take a long time to achieve and hold even with this bullrun - because when the bear run starts we dont know how low it will go and trust me, bear run will happen with time.

Hence you must sell at a 10% or so gains range. Then buy back at bear markets. This is not a hit and run game but a continuous grind.

If that happens, I will not panic and trying to calm down. I will buy more satoshi at a low price, and I am sure that I can get more amount in satoshi. Before that happens, I am sure the price will hit the highest price, which can help us sell some satoshi to prepare the price drops. If we can have more money, we will be able to buy many satoshi and hold it back again until the price can increase higher.

I see two options here. 1) exchange part of bitcoins into stable coins or fiat just to hold or at least "feel" that you have earned 2) just hold. Price historical chart might be a good proof that everything returns to ATH and grows further.

I'm a new guy in cryptocurrency world. I'm here since 2017. I've seen how the price went up to $20k and jumped in that train, saw how it went down to <$4k. Now I observe how it updates ATH. I'm more concerned that if price goes down heavily, it will recover in few years.

If ever such thing will happen again just like the scenario after the bull run in 2017-2018, I will still keep on holding into my Bitcoin since I have another source of income on my part so it won't be a cause of problem or panic but still I am considering to convert some into stable coins for a while and some parts to be taken into hold and since I have other source of income, I would spend some from my salary to buy more Bitcoin at a lower or cheaper price for we have been into many ups and downs and see Bitcoin undergo recovery so I would just be still and trust the process and take opportunity and advantage of the scenario to acquire more possible Bitcoin I can have to hold them until price recovers to gain profit from it.

It is not on the options.

I am saving some of my salaries for that and if ever, let's say it actually happens and drop to that point; obviously, I will be reinvesting. With the recoveries that happened in the history of Bitcoin, we should know that the lower the price drops, the higher it will come back giving us more profits in the process. Buy low sell/hold high.

I think it is not going to be that difficult to actually get out, but wait out would be easier as well. Last time bitcoin reached 20k, there weren't really that many people who bought there, but even worse, we went to 3k, there were tons of people who bought over 3k, so everyone lost money, only very early birds didn't.

However this time around, the price went over 20k very quickly, we were all here before 20k, it was a loooong time before we broke over 20k, and we could say that even if it crashes to 20k, we are going to be fine, and if it stays above 10k+ there are tons of people who would be fine as well. So long story short I think people will be fine even if the price of bitcoin suddenly crashed and we will not have to do anything radical neither. I am not afraid honestly, it can drop to 13k and I would still be fine, which I doubt it would fall.

Have you ever heard of stop loss? If you ever had your BTC from 30K upto its above price, you should stop loss at 30K as well, same applies as to those who had it from 30K below, in which you would just take the profit and then return/buy on the dips. But honestly with the current uptrend and huge whales continuously coming to the crypto market, it is really impossible to break the support or half the current ATH. So selling it isn't really a good idea now, but accumulating is the best and safest way, whereas it is inevitable that the BTC would soon reach for maybe 1 USD per sat. Too impossible? Well think again.

Taking advantage when it reaches the highest ATH is now the choice I make. Convert to fiat and hold a few percent for prep when prices start getting high again. Converting to Fiat would secure my advantage. I've reached the target I wanted and that's enough. and when the price of bitcoin starts to fall I will buy it again when the price really drops. the 2017-2018 bearish cycle warns me that there will still be more shocks to wait and be patient. Better to take advantage of the targets that have been achieved than and that's enough, don't be too greedy.

I think I'll actually keep holding, as if previous history is anything to go by, the price comes back up in a couple of years' worth of time. And selling recklessly isnt a good idea, as I've learnt firsthand lol. As blockchain technology is implemented in more mainstream uses, I believe that more people will get to know about bitcoin and thus as interest increases, its value will someday go back up, due to the limited supply.

As you can see from the graph below, search trends spikes in Google also correspond to price hike of bitcoin, and that just shows that more the people get to know, more is the benefit in long term for all of us, as strong market emotion towards bitcoin directly correlates to how its price changes.

Perhaps I might just do like what I had done before like buying at a cheap price. However, this also depends on my entry point, if I enter the market near its peak price then I might just hold it until the next rally because it will be a big loss if I will sell it right away so better if I hold it. If I enter a good spot where I already have a profit then I might just liquidate it and buy it again if it falls really hard. I won't place it into some altcoins because most of the altcoins are just following the track of Bitcoin, if it falls and so do the alts( Not entirely though because there are still some alts can be pretty good too).

I'll look for some factor first which can make bitcoin price drop heavily. Panic selling should be accompanied by the factor not just following what other people do. We have seen many situation when bitcoin drop heavily then we will just in a few time its price will break the previous resistance, and make many people/trader regretted what have done by them. Exactly, I'll just intrust to the fundamental factor to assess that the uptrend market is end or just a decresing price is a correction only. So, technical analyst and fundamental analyst should be used simultaneously, either you are day trader, swing trader, or investor.

I'll take it as another opportunity to buy and accumulate more again. We should take every market situation as an opportunity to earn instead of panicking. I'll also buy altcoins since the altcoin season will surely approach right after the ATH of Bitcoin. We shouldn't end things in selling but rather think of new ways to earn through investing again.

It all matters on how much risk you can put on and on what you do really need.It is really need to be spent but not all would really be willing on doing that
specially that they do know its potential when it comes to future prices thats why they do end up on holding up instead.
On the question on what would i do in this kind of situation? I would really make out some conversions to fiat and then buying up again when
i do saw if the price is really just right for me to get in.Its hard but this one will really be depending on someones experience and capability.

I do not think an altcoin season is going to happen right now, it is true that altcoins move more easily than bitcoin due to their lower market caps but the interest in bitcoin is so high right now that who in his right mind is going to exchange their fiat, stable coins or their bitcoin for altcoins that have been underperforming bitcoin for most of this movement? Altcoins had their turn during the past year, now it is the turn of bitcoin to grow and reach new heights.

I
I'll take it as another opportunity to buy and accumulate more again. We should take every market situation as an opportunity to earn instead of panicking. I'll also buy altcoins since the altcoin season will surely approach right after the ATH of Bitcoin. We shouldn't end things in selling but rather think of new ways to earn through investing again.
Well, that is right. Actually, there are two different people in cryptocurrency, one is the smart accumulator, and the other one waiting to cut the profit.
Those who had capital are waiting to accumulate if there is a downtrend but they will perhaps be sad if the price of bitcoin will rise. On the other hand, bitcoin seller, sell after they saw that their profit slowly melting due to the price incline. Holders should always think that bitcoin is good for holding long term, not for the short one, if you really want to make a good profit, you can start monitoring the market and watch when it will happen again.

This is the reason why USDT has a higher volume than Bitcoin, because many people convert to stable coins to save the money they have when
Bitcoin suddenly drops. Then we can buy back Bitcoin when the Bitcoin price has reached a low price, I even often save my profit when trading
on stable coins. Because for me, saving money in stable coins can avoid a volatile market, so if I trade Bitcoin and altcoins I always use stable coin
pairing.

Currently, I don't have bitcoin on my holdings as I sold it early. If bitcoin goes down really fast then I will wait for it to be stable and then I will buy from there. Too scared to get caught in the hype now that bitcoin is almost at 40k.
It is normal to hold back from buying at this price. Indeed entering the market at wrong prices means having to suffer when not being able to sell at even higher price. It can happen that you might buy at 40k and sell at 45k but truly the >40k USD has not be achieved yet which makes it a more risky thing to bet on.

There are chances of bitcoin price falling as well on which case one needs to be ready to buy again. However the support levels for the new ATH have not been tested yet.

Other:
That for me would be to sell (it won't necessarily be at the peak (for no one knows that) and then rebuy at intervals when there are signs of exhaustion to the downside, judging from technical analysis.

...and sell some towards the bottom again
But if you knew a bottom would come why would you not sell off before then? Well, it goes to explain that we all are mere speculators in this game. Even the early adopters can't say till date that they knew Bitcoin would be this valuable. This is the interesting part as the idea of Bitcoin keeps everyone on their toes. Who would've thought Bitcoin would see this phenomenal rise at a time like now that the world is in a big health & financial mess?

I would spread my wealth to USDT, USDC or any reputable coins out there then cash out safely because in this scenario I could catch the glimpse of massive dumping otherwise I'd weep my tears because at such high rate and if it's to get dumped without me knowing I'd definitely missed the sky high profit.
But, I'd definitely set an alarm at certain price point just incase because always watching the market is not really my thing and will only makes me stressed out, moreover there's bot that automatically sell if the market got dumped.

assuming the history of BTC from 2017 - 2018 will repeat this year, what you'll do with your BTC?
If I am late to sell my bitcoin at the highest price, I will still buy more bitcoin because bitcoin is at a big discount if it repeats.
I can do that while I now have money to buy many bitcoin because I already sold my bitcoin.
It is hard to see if bitcoin will be back to the lowest price like what we saw before, but that could be possible.
If I can have many bitcoin, I will use them for trading and holding the bitcoin. With trading, I can increase my bitcoin amount more than what I have.

When bitcoin's price goes down heavily, the same as what happened in 2017 and 2018, I will hold my remaining bitcoin and waiting for its price to recover, and I will grab the opportunity to rebuy bitcoin while its price is low. Instead of panic selling, it would be terrible if I am already accepting the massive amount of losses, so it is better to take every chance than to escape it.

Convert it into a stable coin, waiting for the price of bitcoin to reach the bottom, and then try to buy back again. it's simple as that. I don't wanna only holding my bitcoin but i wanna try to get more bitcoin from my trades.
We will see what will be happening with bitcoin started from the next month.
The bearish trend that's happening a few years ago started in February.

I honestly believe people who do DCA will not really care about the price at all. I am happy that the price went high, for the first time ever I am not leaving anything to luck and doing something with strategy and it makes me feel better. Don't get me wrong I was one of the lucky ones who sold his coins at 18k+ btc back in 2017 peak time as well, but that was literally just one move that I did on the right time, but it wasn't a big amount and I got like 700 dollars, that's it, and obviously that was nothing.

Now however I have been putting my savings into bitcoin each month instead of going all in, that way I have been collecting bitcoin from almost all price points you may have seen, and it is profitable, with this notion I believe price can go back to 7k and I would still be happy, I know that I will profit in the end no matter what happens.

Nothing, keep holding will be the solution.
When the price of bitcoin went down unexpectedly in 2018, I keep holding my coins, until the price of bitcoin change positively to my satisfaction before I release them. With this season we are now, many customers are waiting for the price to decrease for them to buy and hold for future profit purpose.
Many people that hold their coins when the price of bitcoin fell in 2019, they got a massive smile when the price of bitcoin increase to $40k in 2021 before they release them to market.

The price got stuck at 6k USD for a long time. How did you even manage to sell at that price considering you bought at higher or even if bought at lower you missed an opportunity to make a bigger profit. Try not to use the "grapes are sour" statements to nurse your wounds. You missed a big point to buy when bitcoin dropped.

But only if they sold at the proper time. Currently the selling pressure has taken over and bitcoin dropped to 34k USD. 40k USD was touched and could not be held for long after briefly reaching 41k. While it might be pleasing to watch such prices the fact that they did not sell at the point means they lost this cycle's profitability.

How to know when its over? Some had already the impression that this might be a dead cat bounce but now we are seeing that price is stabilizing again in 34k at this moment.

It is really fast for the price to drop in last hours where I do presume that lots had panicked on that time and sorry for those who panic sell.

This is one of the things what makes it hard where we don't know on where the price could possibly dump.

Literally before our eyes, the question asked in this topic was realized. Bitcoin plunged $ 10,000 down, which means a lot of people have a story to tell.
Namely, how they behaved during this downward movement. Personally, I managed to transfer bts to usdt at a price of 40,500, just before the fall.

I think no and good chance buy bitcoin during have lower price then when bitcoin up you can sell. Looks simple if you understand with bitcoin price and never make you panic for buying when bitcoin have reach higher price.

That is the basic idea we have to do when the price of Bitcoin increased heavily in the exchanges, which we need to convert them to USDT, in order to protect our profits. It will give the opportunity to buy the Bitcoin again when the price of Bitcoin drops again. That's how we need to play with the cryptocurrency.

I think as an individual traders we need to use or apply stop loss in trading to prevent high losses into our assets.
Or if your not selling your Bitcoin and yet the price rapidly goes down, so the better way for you to do is continue what you had
started in the first place in which is hold your Bitcoin until it goes up again.

I try to have an strategy, and stick to it. It doesn't matter if BTC price goes up or down. There are selling points and buying points, and if you get nervous, use stop loss. If you lose money try not to lose more than the potential loss that was contemplated in your strategy

The smart to do is to swap or sell for stable coins whenever the market price is falling so fast in order to reduce the effect of loss on one's fund. Swapping to fiat currencies in some the 3rd world countries isn't advisable because their country's currency might even fall as against dollar before they start to buy the coin again.

Keep holding is better than have sell with lower price because I think bitcoin always have bigger chance back to higher price and not worry for investing and keep holding bitcoin or altcoin. I think during bitcoin have lower price have many bigger investor wanna buy back bitcoin and they wanna get more profit after bitcoin pass correction price and going up, maybe many time bitcoin success pass correction price with higher price more than 20x before correction.

I think the same, the whales like to play with the price from time to time to see how strong is this market and I think that we have passed this first test, the price went down but it was not an uncontrolled crash it was a nice correction that happened during several days and while the price of bitcoin is only making a mild recovery this is just the beginning, as it is obvious the whales will get back in the market once they see there is enough support coming from retail investors.

the whales  give big impact for many investor when take position what have to do, when getting news about thousand bitcoin transfer from unknow wallet to Binance or coinbase so they will think bitcoin later will have lower price, now we got with future trading whale when some investor wanna get short with higher amount we can see their entry and become recommendation for us what have to do. So far still make whale as my source information what entry have to choose, buy or sell.

I think the answer is "buy more" for many people. I have seen bitcoin do a correction about 7 or 8 times in the past 5 months and anytime it went down, people ended up buying more and more and the price recovered very quickly, which is why I think people end up buying a lot whenever price goes down. That is a smart thing to do and that is why I think it is quite possible that people end up with these kinds of results, they have seen that if they buy bitcoin, they are going to end up with a lot better results during the falls, and end up in profit during the ups.

I personally haven't taken part in it too many times, just twice so far but I am sure I am going to end up doing a lot better later on. All in all it is obvious that people want to make a lot more profit so they will keep on buying whenever it goes down, which makes me feel better about all these corrections.

If traders can anticipate market changes, they use stablecoin to keep funds safe, and again to buy at lower prices. The change in the price of the USD with the change in the price of the local currency often worries traders.

But those who have long-term holders are not too worried about short-term market changes. So they know how to keep themselves safe.

I'd never think that Bitcoin will do the rally reaches at $40k, it is really out of my mind but now, my plan is to accumulate more if the times will come that Bitcoin facing the dips again $5k, $4k just like last year. I could be more positive and prepare my funds for this case.

You don't control the feelings of others.

When they see the dump, it will affect them a lot, and won't feel it's safe to stay in bitcoin and keep holding it. And as a result of that, they panic sell, dump, and forget that bitcoin has been in many series of dumps and corrections.

That's why there's a quote made about weak 'hands selling'.

Since the market prices are based on crypto<>fiat, say you sold bitcoin at high and the fiat value of that coin is still low if you bought back you could theoretically shift to a stablecoin for the time being till the market drops again to buy back at a greater multiple value. Check yourself what Dollar cost averaging means and you might get a better idea.

See if you want to make great profits then you need to gamble with your money.
I dont think that is going to promote the proper sentiment. You dont "gamble" with your money, but take calculated risks based on previous market metrics. Gambling here will mean pertaining to a casino to the users of this forum. ;D

Other.

I'll keep regularly buying bitcoin, I'll keep regularly spending and using bitcoin, and I'll keep regularly putting some of what I buy in to long term cold storage. Bitcoin wasn't designed just to be held long term or as a medium to buy and trade altcoins - it was a designed as a currency, and I'll keep using it as a currency regardless of what its fiat price is.

you have mistake about calling Bitcoin a currency. Bitcoin is Money, Bitcoin worth it's price as like as gold. but using it as currency with high fees, slow transactions, while there are better coins as like Litecoin, Bitcoin is no longer a currency these days.

I'm Bitcoin user since 2016. I'm holding and spending it to buy products before. but recently it's almost impossible to use Bitcoin as currency like it was before.

My mom tell me about old days, they was using Gold to buy cheap products. now they use Gold as Money, you can't go and buy from supermarket using gold easily as like our parents did before.

same happening now with bitcoin. it won't be usable as currency for cheap products.

In any case, it is very difficult to determine the price when you need to sell bitcoin. Because everyone is waiting for the further growth of the coin, forgetting that BTC needs a correction. And when did you decide at what price you are willing to sell BTC, you need to use a stop loss in case there is a dump.

Umm, no way I’m not doing that mistake again and again because I have already sold due to fomo. Many times bitcoin went down hard and I sold because of big loss but soon after I sold bitcoin went up like crazy. Even in this bull market I experienced same thing. Now it’s time to stop this bullshit and Keep holding no matter what bitcoin does.

One thing is sure that I will buy even more bitcoins when it will go down hard this time. It’s for the goodness and I know it because numerous investors are now jumping into it and supporting bitcoin. The future is great, if you want to be part of it then just buy more when it hits down the road.  :)

It is still money depending on what you are buying, especially if there is an off-chain option. For example I do my namecheap expenses from bitcoin, never used my credit card, and I just put 100 bucks in there and spent about 4 dollars on the fee as well and it was there about 18 hours later (didn't matter, didn't want to put 10 bucks in it) and that was fine, I have spent the same thing for 8 months or so now and I will probably cover another year of expenses from that or maybe put in a little bit more (can use alts as well).

Same goes for places like expedia and booking where you can arrange your vacation, between flight and hotels? That's gonna cost you quite a bit, especially in a European vacation that would be above 1-2 thousand euro easily, spending another 10 bucks or even 20-30 bucks wouldn't really be that shocking, so I would say it would be fine. Long story short it is still a currency, just for bigger things.

News like that is only FUD that is actually being spread to create panic and people start selling it for fear that Bitcoin will continue to fall. But in the end Bitcoin was able to go up to $ 40k in just a few days. After the FUD is successfully deployed and the price drops, it is time to make positive news about bitcoin which will cause the tremendous FOMO to push the bitcoin price back up and reach a new ATH.
Many market manipulations are carried out by several groups for their own interests, we as traders or investors must also be vigilant and have a strategy to deal with such incidents.

When bitcoin price is pumping people FOMO, and when the price is dumping some people endup holding it why some people end up selling it off due to fear, why some people end up selling and buying back when the price is already very low. Currently bitcoin price is increasing massively, but If the price dump massively I will definitely sell off and convert my fund to a stable coin and later buy back when is dump already and I will hold.

I think that at this year, it will be different so I have to agree with your strategy, back then there are little to no institutional investors that are buying boatloads of bitcoin, fast forward to the present, Grayscale, Microstrategy and other similar companies are buying tons of bitcoin and as we all know with the rule of supply and demand, price will go up as soon as the supply drops. This dips in prices are just a temporary down in prices, remember that many believes that 100k will be hit this year and bitcoin has been evidently proving itself doing some say impossible.

People will obviously not be super hyped about a crash if it goes down there, if the price crashed and went down, that literally means people sold their coins, how could we try to look for answers?

I mean sure there will be a lot of people who will keep their coins, there is no doubt about that, but just because we are talking about some people holding, it doesn't matter the mathematically proven fact that in order for bitcoin price to fall, there needs to be a ton of coins sold on the market around the same time, so if the price crashed that means the answer of this question for many people is "sell my coins" because if they didn't sell their coins, the price wouldn't have gone down. I personally would keep mine, because I always keep mine, no matter if it goes up or down, but the market has decided to sell if the price is a lot lower.

Considering bitcoin as regular currency, I'd rather just hold it no matter how much the price is. At the time that I need it the most, I am converting with the current price.
In case that bitcoin price goes down heavily, I will grab the chance to buy more btc.

Most impact when have any country make regular bitcoin as currency payment will have two ways bitcoin become up price or down, I think today become new beginning with new president for United State and waiting what respond from Joe Bidden with bitcoin, he will give regular and allowed bitcoin as currency transaction and become give way for bitcoin to be higher price, but when Bidden give bad announcement with bitcoin just waiting for with correction, nice for waiting what his looking with  bitcoin good or not for adopting in transaction on United State.

Majority of us would really be concerning on where we do able to buy those coins and when we are in need then we would surely consider to sell when we are above it.
We cant just sell it off directly without seeing on where we do able to get in because that would typically means that you are selling in loss. When we do saw
sudden price decline then its really hard to say that we wont really be on panic because we are just humans which are emotional when it comes to this.
Most likely people do shook off and sell in negatives while others do able to stand out into their position and do accumulate when its cheap.

Everyone knows what they need to do, as our perspective and goal may be different.
I'm not using bitcoin as a regular currency on daily basis but buy and sell according to necessity and urgency. If bitcoin is about to burst then sell all of it and waiting for the bottom to buyback, it will maximize the profit and could accumulate more bitcoin into my wallet for sure.

Buy when bitcoin down because this great chance how to get much profit, I am waiting when bitcoin and altcoin down because looks happy for seeing red market and get chance to buy with lower price, but when bitcoin raise up I think many investor looks happy but they don't know how to get chance when market up, I have opinion with buying bitcoin or altcoin when have red or lower price later sell after bitcoin reaching on green market then have higher price.

That is where the real use of stable coins comes in because I would simply convert my Bitcoins into USDT and wait for the market to stabilize. I would not do this if the fall is around 2-5k USD but of the drop happens massively like you assumed then yeah I would convert into USDT and buy a chunk of Bitcoins at a lower price once the market becomes stable and the drop has ended.

Knowledge about when to sell and buy is what makes one a good trader and I have learned enough about these swings in couple of years of my Bitcoin journey that I am able to react to such swings such that I end up in profit more often than not.

I will convert to stable coin or convert to altcoins, some altcoins usually get better after the bitcoin crash but everything has exceptions. Stable coin remains a safe storage channel to start a new cycle.

Safe storage as long as you follow all necessary security measures. I've seen many times how cryptocurrency holders forget, lose, get hacked while long term holding. To be able to convert Bitcoin to stable coins quickly, you need to hold it on exchange, or face fact of paying huge commission for quick transaction. While your transaction gets confirmed, the price can jump back and you will lose a lot on fee.

That is why my suggestion is to hold only part of balance on exchange (which is not safe at all) to be able quickly exchange it to stable coin or fiat. Or simply hold. History shows, that the price will get back with time.

I always invest in Bitcoin using the money that I can afford to lose, so when Bitcoin goes down I don't do anything just keep holding.
Because from the start, I used money that was not for my daily needs, So it is very safe for me to HODL for a long time though. Because
based on the results of my research, Bitcoin includes coins that recover very quickly, so usually it won't take long to wait for the price
to go up again. It has even become a habit for me to buy Bitcoin again when the price drops, so when the Bitcoin price went up, I hope
can get a bigger profit.

If you do not use a stop loss, then you will not have a chance to sell bitcoin in time, which can lose up to 30% of its value in price, as we saw earlier. But even after such a drop, BTC can quickly recover in price and continue its growth. Therefore, everyone should set a price for bitcoin at which they are ready to sell it and subsequently do not regret the decision.

I have created 2 Portfolios for investment as well as trading. of course when there is a rapid decline if it hasn't hit Stop Lose I won't sell it. I think everyone has Stop Losing there is no way they will panic with the decline whereas it is a natural thing in a changing trend. For investment in the long term, I prefer to leave behind these assets because this is for the long term and I don't care about the price dropping. precisely when it touches the support point I will buy it

In my case, I have chosen to convert to stable coins as it is the best option in order to secure the value of your assets. But I will do this kind of scenario only if I can see that the market is starting to shift already from bull into bear but if in case it is only a temporary crash that will likely to recover again in a couple of days or months then I will change my strategy.

Either, I will continue to buy in every dip of btc price until hitting it will reach to it's peak of the crash. In this way, I can secure my profit once the bitcoin will start to increase it's price again.

Investing with the money you are willing to lose is the key part of investing, if you invest with your paycheck for example you will lose because you will need it and you will not be capable of holding as long as you need to. Benefits of being rich and investing and becoming richer is the fact that rich people invest with money they are not using everyday, they invest with money they have on the side, and the money they use everyday are not for investment, but since they are rich, they can put millions of dollars into something, wait 10 years and get richer.

We do not have that kind of luxury, but if you can save even 20-30 bucks a month, putting that into bitcoin every month is very important, but only if it is the money you can afford to lose. That means you will be capable of buying when it is low and selling when it is high and be capable of waiting in between.

ETH (https://trade.kucoin.com/ETH-BTC) Seems to be a viable option to jump into. Lots of hype still surround the coin given that we still have phases of eth 2 release. And if it delivers with all of its promises and be widely adopted like its predecessor, the platform (and the coin) might go places.

Those adjectives are inappropriate. There is always a problem inherent to the stable- part of the altcoin. Most altcoins that have become stablecoins have had to do some trade-offs to keep their coin's price stable. Though using them is not a bad thing.

Quote
so that my bitcoin satoshi will not decrease its value.
You are pegging the value to USD. The value of 1BTC is 1BTC always, what changes is the dollar cost of that 1BTC that varies with time. You cant stop that from happening.

I understand your point, but stablecoin came in existance or popularity after the 2017 pump and only when the dump happened because the owners of these coins promoted them to be "safe from market volatity" - which is a half-truth to start with.

IMO, you can hold stablecoins for short periods only. Think of using them as a necessary evil.

If your  remaining Bitcoin are lready been treated as spare assets.

Then continue holding is th best option, we already witness how high the value can go, once this corrections has been overcome and another bounce up happened, for sure the value will more higher than the last time high. No need to panic if you wanted not to lose your investment keep being calm and wait for the right time.

Easy to say but not would really be applicable for everyone because not all will really be that willing on buying out something or bitcoin directly if they do saw that the price is crashing.
For those who do have some risk taking mindset fella then they would definitely do the same but for those who had think off that it might not able to recover ahead then they wouldnt
really just carelessly taking away those kind of suggestions or deal. This isnt really something that you can really just buy when it dips because there are lots of factors that
would be needed to be check first rather than buying into something without even knowing if you do able to hit it up or had just totally pass by.

when you see the cryptocurrency price collapsing instantly then you can take advantage of that opportunity to buy as much as you can, but if you are stuck at a high price then all you have to do is stay calm and don't get influenced to sell it at a low price because it will only make you lose, the price of cryptocurrency will always go up and down so keep waiting until the price goes up again so you don't regret it someday for selling it at a cheap price.
You can buy as much as you can of a coin that you think will be doing great in the future, not the ones that could suck and be very bad, that is an important decisive matter. For example, XRP is a very high ranked, recently third now fifth ranked big coin right? Well that doesn't mean that it is doing awesome right now, but I still wouldn't be investing into it, is it low?

Yeah compared to others its low, did we say we should get in as much as we can to a promising coin that is low? Yes we agreed on that, why am I not investing into XRP which is in exactly that position? Because I do not see a future in XRP, maybe I am making a short term mistake where XRP could go higher soon but I do not see a 5-10 year future for XRP which is why I am not investing. So find the ones you think would be valued well and invest into those if you want to profit big time.

I will wait and invest some cash to in to balance the average price. So it will be much profitable.
But the moral is you have to hold. Holding is everything in crypto market most of the time.
So its better to hold.
We have seen that eth dropped to 89 from 1400 but now It's again up to 1400. So holding tokens never disappoint you.
Be confident while holding and think twice while selling.

If you will have to wait to do any of this thing you might end up losing more because bitcoin dump happen so fast so in that case you can minimize ur loss by converting into fiat however the challenge will be the extent to which the drop will be. Well, if you do really understand how bitcoin works, you'd know by now that the best thing to do in a situation when the price of bitcoinis going down fast and heavily is simply to do nothing. Just keep hodling.
If you've followed the trend for some years, you'd realized bitcoin always bounce back up. Let's take 2018 for example, there was a huge decline in the price of bitcoin from its ATH then of about $21k down to about $3k. Those who didn't panic-sell then are sure to make profits now that it's now worth over $32k.
I'm sure you now see my point.

Most people will do the same, that's why the snowball effect happens, hence the market crash continues to pull the price gradually decline over time. The only problem is we don't know whether the price will rebound or won't recover, for people who sell at the peak have earned the profit to buy back but for people who miss the opportunity to sell, the majority will wait for the price to rebound which doesn't happen then they sell at a lower price at loss.

Just going to continue to hold or cut losses immediately by selling fast as well at least that is what I usually do when selling late, but it would be better to hold because I think that is the best way because next will make long term plans. Converting it to a stable coin I didn't think it would be good, because after all Bitcoin is the king which is very likely to jump higher the fast way too and that was a surprise.

It is better to have stop loss at any point. Sure you could have a bit more lax stop loss when we are in a bull run, considering it like this, if you bought bitcoin at 10k and price peaked over 20k you could have a stop loss at 15k and still make 50% profit, if it goes over 30k and you put it on 20k that means you could profit double even when it falls down big. So, basically on a bull run putting a stop loss is easy but it should be done nevertheless because that is how it should be.

On a correction, or stable price, or a crash you should have a stop loss even more importantly, because that would be the number one thing that would make your situation better. If you bought at 30k for example, have it at around 28k or so in order to save yourself from a huge fall when that happens, if that doesn't happen your stop loss would be useless and that's fine, but if it happens you would be happy about it.

You’re right. For long, I am one of those enthusiasts who always missed the opportunity to sell as I wasn’t used to the trend in the price movements. I know that it may not be that sustainable selling on its peak since it caused crashes, but I still do as I see that it is how the market works. And I had to go by.

I highly think thats not possible with the current price for BTC (https://trade.kucoin.com/BTC-USDT) and what remains to be seen is if Bitcoin will indeed become less volatile and live up to the hopes of Scaramucci, Saylor and others who see the cryptocurrency becoming a new-age safe-haven asset.

But there's a reason why there are stablecoins in the industry, I think stablecoins will be my sanctuary if BTC decides to go south.

Bitcoin’s positive track record for long-term appreciation has been a driver of interest from institutions, and they're typically long term holders so I guess I can consider them as my signal to sell.

It is a normal practice to convert to a stable coin and rebuy later when you believe it is about regaining grounds for an upward trend. This is what most people do to increase their amount of bitcoin.

Normal for you is certainly not normal for other Bitcoin users, speaking for myself anyway. I know it is probably the smart thing to do, preserve dollar value at a high and buy back at dips but since I can't afford to spend any more time than I already do on Bitcoin, I can't bring myself to convert to trader mentality... I am happy regularly holding and adding by dollar cost average.

Besides, all the traders who eventually lose during a bear or when caught by rallies only serve to strengthen my conviction that trading is not worth it when you're not set up to be anything else than a casual investor.

Bet you wouldn't be able to show you've done it successfully over the long term, now, would you?

I'm just continue to hold my BTC and I have trust with BTC if the time will come like this. Its not possible but also its not possible that it will recover immediately. I will buy more BTC if the price really goes heavily down. Its one great opportunity to buy again until it back to the price it should be. Probably a lot of people will get panic and sell their BTC but I will not. For me, holding is the best option rather than selling at low price.
I would do the same because I do not have that much amount of bitcoin being hodled in the first place, the storm happens but we always know that it will end, how many times does it need for us to completely trust the power of bitcoin, in fact, this downtrend is an opportunity for many to buy bitcoin at a lower price and hodl to profit. Trading will be a different case because traders has bitcoin as their main source of income. I am surprised that the poll has convert to fiat at third, I was expecting it to be around the last place but I guess that's people's perspective for you, they really are differing and that is interesting.

I'd never choose to convert to altcoins in such case. Altcoins would go down even deeper if Bitcoin lead the way. I'd also stay away from stablecoins. It's possible these will one day be the  cause of a big market crash. For late investors the smartest move would be to go back to fiat to save themselves from losses. For a long time holder like me it would have to drop down below 1k to make me scared. I'd most likely keep holding until the end.

should be an easy question to answer.
short selling bitcoin in an exchange platfrom that offer contract trading, and use the profit to buy bitcoin ;D
you can get profit for both side market, bullish and bearish.

That is how you should be thinking as well if you are a good investor. Traders end up buying and selling constantly and that really hurts the chances of making money in crypto, but the reality is that if you end up with a crash, that means cheap bitcoins and you could buy more and more so that you could get richer in the future.

We are talking about something much bigger here, we are talking about 50k+ and even 100k happening, that means if I buy from 33k levels I am going to make a 3x return, however if I buy from 20k levels that means I am going to make 5x return and if by luck if bitcoin ever drops to 10k again (which I doubt will ever happen again) that means 10x returns. This is why people do not let bitcoin go down too much anymore, because when they see it go down they end up buying more and more which results with price going back up.

I’m not sure yet if the historical assumption of BTC from 2017 to 2018 will repeat this year, as I haven’t seen bitcoin go down
very low like that year. Now bitcoin is just sideways with a reasonable decline that we would normally think of as a correction.
Right now because the price is still high enough I’m still going to  hold  bitcoin, not sell it  too fast. Anyway, I’ll see  first what
the market situation will be.

It is a normal practice to convert to a stable coin and rebuy later when you believe it is about regaining grounds for an upward trend. This is what most people do to increase their amount of bitcoin.
Although it seems like a normal trend to do but that's not the case. Using stablecoins seems logical but many traders don't trust them completely. Either they will try to move to altcoins which are not stable or just hold bitcoin.

You can just sell for fiat and then hold fist while bitcoin drops. This might be difficult depending on your local currency exchange.

All in all, one needs to sell at the top and buy back at the dip. Otherwise they will not be able cycle their money.

Not trusting the stablecoins makes sense, after all it is just a company called tether and we are collectively believe that they are going to be fine with 20+ billion dollars of our money? Why would we want to believe that, I would rather not do that and I would rather just keep my money to myself, there is no reason why they should have it.

Hence I end up with my local exchange when I want fiat, there I do not have usdt or anything, it is just numbers showing how much fiat I have and with just one click it goes to my bank account whenever I want, and the  charge is like under 50 cents as well so it is nearly free, anytime I want I can spend under 1 dollars to withdraw to my bank account and send it back to exchange, all in fiat form. So long story short we are going to be capable of spending some time on the fiat world when trading, might as well get the real thing.

I also have the same choice. When bitcoin drops like the previous year, I won't choose any other stable coin because when Bitcoin goes down I don't trust the others. In these cryptocurrencies, I see that there is no coin that is stable and really safe. High liquidity makes the price of these coins very vulnerable to plummeting. Instead of looking for alternatives by choosing other cryptos, I prefer fiat or even I convert them to safer investments like gold, stocks, or mutual funds. Because I'm also just a penny player whose every penny is very valuable to my economy.

We should be glad that we have stable coin right now, this is to protect our investment and make it a safe haven but I don't see the market crashing right now, but if there are bad news coming like what happen in pandemic, be ready to take action to protect your investment, stable coin has been the best option and I'd like to think it was created for this purpose.

Converting to stable coins would be the best option that we can do to gain a good profit continuously. If we're doubting, then we could buy Bitcoin and reinvest again at a lower price and hodl it and just trust your guts since Bitcoin has shown and proven its capability to rise at the best time. Take the risk if you trust your coin because the dump is always part of Bitcoin's volatility and we should always take advantage of it.

Since I do not really like to take risks, I would rather wait until the BTC price goes up again. For me personally, this is the best choice, since at this stage I can do other things. Again, if BTC drops sharply, then it will be too late to sell it or exchange it, for example, for USDT, since you will probably lose on this. I still stick to the option that you just need to wait and sell when BTC reaches the price you want.

Everyone assumed something big would happen but the reality is that bitcoin never really shocks the world that much anymore, no matter what it does. I personally have seen plenty of times bitcoin did something huge, not just this huge increase in the last few months, I mean like daily as well, I have seen it move 20%+ in a single day as well, people are used to it by now.

What makes bitcoin so volatile is that there is no regulation of buying and selling, you could get together with few billionaires, and they could all buy at the same time to increase the price, they could then put orders to sell 10% of it every day for the next 10 days and they would get out without disturbing the market too much. That way they would get rich, try to do this for a stock in the stock market and you will not only be jailed, but also would have a huge fine as well in tens of millions.

the step I have done is to buy quickly when the price is low and hold until the price is high. This is one of the most powerful ways to find significant and large target prices. So I thought I wouldn't miss this opportunity to get low and sell high.
Well, I feel that you are lacking in the preparatory steps for an unexpected event as bitcoin drops dramatically and I believe your plan to buy low sell high will not be possible when perhaps a large amount of your capitalization is falling on altcoins or unable to convert to USDT, an unexpected situation always delays everyone's actions and contains many errors. Therefore, a preparation step for this situation is necessary, setting a suitable price to convert to USDT or stop loss quickly is the way I always do, wait for a stabilization from the market and apply your strategy, the odds of winning will be higher if we know how to prepare

Selling bitcoins in such a situation would certainly be foolish. Selling before Bitcoin drops would be great. And so there is only one option, hold and wait for better times.

What can negatively affect the price of bitcoin?

First, the segmentation of the Internet.  If the Internet is divided into many independent segments, then the functioning of the Bitcoin network will be difficult.

Secondly, a hard fork, as a result of which two equal chains are formed, each of which will be supported by an equal number of miners and developers.

Third, the successful attack on the network using a quantum computer, and fourth, the success of the Central Bank Currencies (CBDC) and the total ban on Bitcoin in all countries.

Until one of these scenarios is implemented, Bitcoin does not need to be sold.

I'll keep on buying BTC if BTC price goes down to its lowest. Chinese New year is near and the market goes down during this time, the market is now turning red. I'll consider it as a shopping discount to buy some of my favorite altcoin and BTC. I guess most of us are waiting to buy cheaper BTC since people are expecting the bull-market to be longer because of institutional investors.

I'd convert to Fiat, but will also buyback at specific points which I'll mark as support areas where buybacks generally happened before, and I won't go all-in but save and do it with timely intervals if I believe there's going to be more action downwards. ;)

Good and concise data. I'm going to do the same as I always do. HODL. HODL until I absolutely need fiat for expenses. I assume most of the forum members are the same in this case. We know that BTC will get back to or even higher price after a crash. Crashes are the best time to buy even more haha.

I do not see bitcoin dump as "inevitable" anymore, I understand that we are in a pump right now and there could be a "correction" but I am not entirely convinced that price could fall 80%+ anymore, or at least not again. I get that it is easier to think like this during a pump, many people think like this during a pump so I might be wrong, and I get that, but the fact is that we are not doing that bad right now and the difference compared to all other dumps and this period is that we have super rich people going into bitcoin, grayscales and microstrategies and now tesla all going into bitcoin could be a factor that bitcoin may never drop again like that.

I am not saying we will never drop, we will of course have drops, I am saying we may never have 80%+ crash again, dump and 80%+ crash are very two different things and one is possible while other looks more difficult each day.

I never go all in at once at a fixed price so I definitely wouldn't sell what I already bought higher, since I can simply just keep averaging down and layer small buys on the way down, that's the key to not panicking and keep holding what you believe has higher value that the current price.

As for the future price of Bitcoin when correction starts, I personally think $10k would be the Bitcoin's new $3k, so I see that as a very unlikely scenario that Bitcoin goes lower than $10,000 anytime soon and that's good for the market and more specially for good quality altcoins that are not just money grabs, I really think interest in cryptocurrencies are increasing by a good amount and because of that I don't think it's a very possible scenario that we experience long bear markets like a few that we already had again.

As of this writing BTC price is $44966.2 Few hours ago its $48K

If you have bought Bitcoin few hours ago, you could have made so much lost
however try to hodl it till it reach new ath again!! then you will gain profit!!

once the price dumps again u should buy a whole lot more!
You can try buying on  Kucoin Exchange  (https://trade.kucoin.com/BTC-USDT)  this is highly credible exchange, they also support fiat to crypto so it would be convenient for you to buy coins there!

Not really at all people though. Some would consider selling a bit right now because of the price surge we got recently. I do both selling and holding cause why not? You never know if you're gonna reach your breakeven again in your net coins held at this moment.
For those who just jumped into the train just now, for sure holding is the best option for now.

When a big dump occurs, of course we will analyze it based on Technical Analysis. I will not sell if the strongest support bitcoin still cannot be passed. Many people end up being hit by Fomo or hype when bitcoin has decreased or increased. they are too hasty to make a buying or selling decision without having a definite basis for why they buy. The high volatility in the bitcoin market is able to move prices up and down rapidly

This depends on what is happening.

Obviously, there will be a huge reason why the price is falling down. There is no way that the price will just fall down hard with the kind of market we are having now. Depending on is happening, I will either reinvest and tkae that as an opportunity or just keep on holding. I will never sell my Bitcoin because of that fall.

My little idea of the best moves to take when Btc price goes down is functional as i know it when you've got your Btc on an exchange but then, an exchange is a risk enveloped environment to have your Btc stalked. Hence, there is the possibility of transferring your Btc to an exchange during such peril times and its going to come at a price too. The idea is, while your Btc is on an exchange, you just swap it for a stable coin and have its value relatively constant at that price until Btc rises. You can also, trade it for some profits should you have the expertise.

Honestly you are right with the chart that it had a lot bigger highs and then higher lows as well.

For example, it went from 35 to 2 dollars, and it never reached 2 dollars again but after the next increase, that means it never reached 35 neither, the low was 45 dollars, the high was 1140 dollars in 13 and it crashed to 150 bucks which is under 260 which breaks the cycle, but then it was nearly 20k and dropped to 3.5k which is over 1140 dollars (nearly 3 times).

This means we have broke over 47k+ once again, so if we ever have a crash I think we are not going to drop to under 20k, because that was the last ATH price, but in order for us to drop 80%+ and still be over 20k that means this increase needs to end with 100k+ price, first we need to become 100k+ then drop 80%+ and still be over 20k as well in order for this crash to be similar to the previous ones.

This depends upon the circumstances surrounding the reason on why the price of BTC dropped.

As for me personally, I would definitely purchase more BTC and HODL it for long-term. Any opportunity that makes its price lower in the market is also an opportunity for me to earn them. Another thing, I do think that people are taking for granted the technology of the blockchain and its application in the world. That is why I do think that prices of BTC will definitely skyrocket AGAIN in the upcoming future.

We are appreciating blockchain technology and its applications just because we are investors, we are users and we are compelled to trust the product we are tracking, the fact is that most people don't look down on bitcoin or blockchain technology, they just don't believe in the profits it can bring, I've never believed it either but I like to follow the trends of the crowd. And when bitcoin falls, at least I'll wait for a market trend to manifest, being hasty to invest and hold will make us lose more profit.

I am admitted that bitcoin do help me alot to overcome these pandemic we have encountered worldwide and its great to think that despite the pandemic bitcoin made its way to top, to reach its new ATH but i do still have the fear that i couldn't accurately utter that bitcoin will always in good value as time passes by.

I can't say that price could drop too much at this point, of course there could be a lot of drops if things go sour but I believe it is not going to happen anytime soon, it looks decent to me honestly. However buying right now part is the one that I am hanged up the most, you think making "hesty decision" would be buying bitcoin and that is not really the correct thing to say right now. Think about it this way, when it was 20k dollars and was trying to break over the ATH and go over 20k+ there were a lot of people who said "it is too high right now, it is not smart to go in now that it is so high" and the price did x2.5 more after that.

So, I do not agree that there is a wrong time to buy bitcoin, there is only time where you buy bitcoin and make profit slower than others, sometimes some people buy bitcoin and make profit in a day, some people buy and wait for years, but in the end you can't be wrong to buy bitcoin at any time.

Sometimes the calculation will fail on its MA. The most important trade to me is the profit key. I would convert Usdt if it goes beyond the defensive MA light bar on my performance. Of course, I just rely on the plan on trading or stop loss if ready, not investing.

The demand will increase and that's the right action if we happen to see bitcoin's price dropping. There's no other action that we have to do but to buy and keep more bitcoin while we can.

It's not only the other investors are our competitors in buying but also the bigger institutions this time.

Profitable currency for investing in Bitcoin has market position and a lot of demand from other currencies bitcoin prices go up a lot based on its demand but if the price of Bitcoin drops a lot then it is better to convert USDT. Even if the price goes down, you don't have to face losses the market is going up a lot so the price will not go down too much.

The point is to convert to a stable coin before the drop, and if you short it successfully, you can make a nice profit! As I stated in some of my previous comments here, I expect that correction since we passed $20k! Now that sounds funny, but here we are over $40k for some time!
In the last week or more, transaction fees are crazy for Bitcoin and Ethereum, and I think that is a sign that correction is getting closer! It's what happened last time. First fees go higher, and then a nice correction! I am ready for that, and I have dollars ready for buying!

assuming the history of BTC from 2017 - 2018 will repeat this year, what you'll do with your BTC?
I choose to hold if bitcoin will suddenly drops and it is also the chance for believers to buy more btc. We can't predict as to where it will heading. For sure it will bounce just like what happen before. Also, many news happening on bitcoin that it is continue growing. Assuming the history will repeat we have an option to take an action on our asset, weather to convert to usdt to be safe our funds or hold until price can recover.

With more companies having interest in entering the market it’s definitely will have a chance for some increase continuously even it experience some decline in price it will sure to arise again as many already notice it’s use and potential as investment, i doubt the price will decline too low with the hype popular companies and Personalities giving now like Elon musk. Every drop now means accumulation.

What else but to make the most of the opportunity to buy more. Because honestly, the sudden rise in the BTC (https://trade.kucoin.com/BTC-USDT) price is practically surprising. In any case, if this is the scenario, it is clear you are really buying. Then, pause, if the price goes up again I might as well exchange it too. Just take the risk. But, it is really better to just continue holding...
In fact, traders usually buy at cheaper prices. Compared to its current value which some can no longer afford.

Taking advantage and play well, if things went back and correction bring bitcoin back from where it's been before, all
the opportunities will be favor to those who are inspiring to invest.

It's tough but you need to take your side, you'll lose your opportunity again if you don't deal with the situation, investors who
believe in this system will continue to buy and take the risk.

It seems to me that this will not happen, because many large investors have invested in bitcoin even at the peak of its dynamic growth, and they probably will not allow bitcoin to decline, but still nothing is eternal, and so a prolonged correction is possible.

I think last time we actually did managed to get segwit before the drop, so we barely got into a place where the price was 20k but the fee was smaller, of course not for a very long time but on the last days. I could be wrong though, we should check the date of segwit and check the date of ATH in 2017 and see if segwit was available on the last days, even if not we managed to get there just a bit later in early 2018 for sure.

Fees are not always indication that a crash will come, it doesn't mean it won't come neither, I just think it is fully irrelevant and that is why I think it is definitely something we should avoid as much as we can. I know that price has a chance to go down, it is always there and I believe it will eventually happen, not saying it will drop to this price or that price but it will definitely have a good 30% or so drop at least, I just think we have a better chance to recover these days and fee will not be the reason for it.

When you're able to buy a house with your profits it doesn't matter if Tesla or anyone else bought, you may want to sell. The situation is going to depend on the number of these people who held through the bear market and have targets for selling on their mind.

When bitcoin drops in price sharply, I will no longer miss this chance, I will immediately buy it as much as possible. After all, I have already missed at least two times its low prices ... But I suspect that this will never happen again. Let's hope for the best.

I would take all my profits and leave my capital since bitcoin (https://trade.kucoin.com/BTC-USDT), if it falls it will surely get back up in value even tho theres no definite date on when as time has already proven it.

If ever the Bitcoin market price will go down heavily and fast like what happened way back 2017-2018 i will choose to take also my profits but i will make sure that i would left even a small amount of bitcoin on my hard wallet because i believe that the history repeat itself and it will bounce back like today. It is better to save small amount on it rather than sorry if ever the bitcoin price gets pumped again. And what had happened today was a proof of history repeat itself.

In this case, there will be atleast two options I will consider to be done once this will happen. Whether I will do nothing or try to hold it for longer period of time or I will going to invest more in bitcoin and wait for it to bounce back again. I would also like to know what other traders' reaction will be if this will happen.

Both are correct, no matter who bought it up if you already see your set target then probably you'll going to sell it out and collect all your profits, not even those big institutional investors can influenced the mindset of every investors who invest in much earlier stage, most of them who seen what happened from the past will be more wiser in deciding when to sell out, this is to avoid being so greed and lose the opportunities to get something decent from this huge pump that happened.

It's a good strategy if you have good amount of spare money, you can continue buying more assets while others are selling. Wait for the bounce and collect all the profits. Instead of playing catch and go  best to have good sets of plan to achieve your goals.

It all depends either you are an Investor or Trader. For Investors low price is an opportunity and they take benefits of it ,  provided they are sitting on huge cash. They don't bother if prices goes further down from their buying price because they know it always performs in long term and its history has proved this fact over and over again.

For traders technical signals generated by charts are more important than low price. They always search for  double/triple bottom , crossovers  as well RSI numbers are important for them to make an entry in market. This is how I also trade because we make profits on daily and weekly basis from price volatility with proper risk and money management.

I think a lot of users expected a dump of bitcoin after reaching the milestones as $25k, $30k, $40k and now $50k but it just keeps on rising. Maybe there will be no dip anymore.

True. Generally Bitcoin Investors/Traders look at current rally in the context of 2017 when Bitcoin was massively dumped after making All Time High at 20K but current Rally is entirely different as it has got massive institutional support as well as adaption of crypto currencies and general public awareness has grown during the past 3 years. Current BTC price is around 55K and continue to increase. Nobody can correctly predict but we should ride this Bus  of opportunity and take advantage.

I don't see the perfect option which is actually fit for me,
Though I think it will never happen cause already very big corporations and investors are started buying BTC, point it, when we are started selling our little amount of Bitcoin, they just started buying a bigger amount at that time. So, they will not gonna sell their share at a cheaper price cause they know well the total supply is limited and they will get a chance to sell it at premium.

But, on the behalf of your asking, if Bitcoin's price will go down heavily and fast for the reason of panic selling then I will put the rest of my remaining funds in it, I don't want to miss the opportunity of buying at deep.

Haha same here but when the prices are falling somehow those articles convince me that I should NOT invest now.

I think this question is rightly asked to those who suppose have invested their everything into bitcoins and what will they do when the market drops sharply and there is no reason like just falling down rapidly. Personally if I was into such situation and the money I have invested into Bitcoins is my only capital, I would be unfortunately be converting my bitcoins into stable coins for the time being until the market stabilizes a bit.

I don't think it is ever going to happen though because now big investors have joined in and they won't let the market go down by much.

The truth is why should you be in shock because btc is going down heavily; after experiences in 2017-2018; i suppose we all should have learnt that a profit in trade is not a profit until converted to usdt or fiat. So you should take profit from your bitcoin holdings and the whatever happens to the remaining hodling would not bother you at all. trust me.

Always take profit and stop waiting for when the market is bearish to take profit. Take profits in batches.

Keep Holding

Because, in every currency like Bitcoin, the price has decreased, either slowly or quickly, later the price of that currency will also increase. This almost often happens, where a person pays too much attention to the value of a fall in price, then he panics that he will experience a loss after seeing it, especially when the price immediately falls far from the previous price. Usually they will immediately sell it to USD and later when the price is normal, they will buy it back or move to another currency such as Stable Coin in anticipation of a bigger loss. It is precisely here that our patience is tested, where we are faced with falling market prices for currencies. In this situation we should need to reconsider our decision to sell it at a loss, even though the losses are not so much. But to sell the currency in a state of falling prices will definitely make us disappointed. Therefore, I chose to hold on to it. But with a note that we are ready to accept the consequences that will come because we do not necessarily know what will happen next. We can only predict it, without knowing the certainty. Still holding the currency is not done without preparation, instead we dare to hold a currency whose price is decreasing, because we have prepared several things, such as funds as a reference for return on investment for future risks.

Other

As I said earlier, another way is to prepare capital for future risks. Because risk (loss) usually comes unexpectedly. At first, the price situation was fine, suddenly the currency price fell far below what it should be. So, so there won't be too much panic. We must have prepared a way to reverse the capital in this dwindling currency. Usually I put half of my capital into another currency. I choose a currency that is easy to increase, for example, such as Stable Coin. To pursue capital in a fast way, I will not spend all the capital I put in the other currency. I also use 50% for trading, so that my return on investment can be accelerated. But this method is certainly not easy. You also know that trading requires accuracy in predicting it. If you make a little mistake, the funds that we trade will be minus or loss. Therefore, trading for a return on investment is usually difficult to do. Moreover, we are in a state (emotion) that is not yet prime. Imagining our funds whose prices are falling, actually provokes us to want to continue to benefit from this trade. Therefore we must control our emotions, calm our minds first to make the right decisions. Trading requires a balanced amount of precision and calm.

At least we have already seen another historical maximum for Bitcoin at $ 58,000, and if Bitcoin falls and loses at least half of its value, it will be a good lesson for me in the first place. After all, you could not be greedy and sell at $ 45К, but under the current circumstances I am not going to sell, but I will keep until Bitcoin reaches at least $ 100,000. And even with a very strong fall in price, I do not intend to sell Bitcoin, because it has not yet revealed its potential.

For me , it will be  an opportunity to buy more BTC and accumulate this precious Digital Gold. I have no doubt at all that BTC will again break its ATH record of 58K and make new ATH record. BTC has broken its strong Resistance at 52K and now heading towards its next target of 60K.

There is no choice but HODL because I always make long-term investments in bitcoin so it doesn't matter to me, because every time there is a decline it will definitely go up again even if you have to wait a long time.
and besides that I will take advantage of the decline in bitcoin to make purchases gradually and hold them for the long term.
I always do things like that and the results are satisfactory, I also make sales when the price of bitcoin goes up and sell a small portion of the profit for necessities.

Im not really surprised off to those kind of question about on what to do when btc price do go down because mostly people will just say about hodling but doesnt mean that this
will be applicable for everybody because not all will be having the same impressions when they do experience on point situations of dumps or price crash/decrease.
Common sense would tell if on what things you should do when you do see the price is falling, neither you do secure or protect your profits by selling out or would
just simply held off since it would just simply recover afterwards.

The smartest decision is Hodl, because many may be waiting for the price in $ 100k and from there they will sell, because they will have achieved objectives, the Strong Hands know it, now if this happens like this and they plan to reach more than $ 100k it would be a Bullish trap, in the markets most of the time they cheat bullish to win, and the institutional investment has not invested to earn little, they invest to be much more millionaires than now, you just have to look at Elon Musk that his investments in Tesla have dropped more than 50% and still buy more bitcoin.

Microestrategy is also going the same way, although their own shares are falling, they decided to introduce $ 10M more in Bitcoin.

Holding is still a great choice because there are still a big posibility that the price will rise in the near future  it can maybe reach up to 200k$ in the next 3 years from now, i believe that the bitcoin will still rise in the future beause there are more people that surely believe on it. So i think holding is a great strategy but it is still depend on you.

We all saw a situation when in March last year, Bitcoin, in connection with information about the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, fell sharply in price below $ 5,000. Many now regret not buying it at that time. Whoever did this has already made a profit of $ 50,000 on each bitcoin.
So far, the situation with Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency in general is very optimistic. Therefore, if such situations arise with a sharp drop in the price of bitcoin, then in this case, you definitely need to buy more of it.
