Title: Block reward schedule and average blocks mined per day, where to find info?
Post by: Gachet on January 03, 2021, 06:04:29 PM
Hi,
I'm new to all this and I'm trying to get some statistics to work on. The thing is I cannot find such information. Sorry if I'm missing something or that has to be calculated somehow, but so far I couldn't find any information.
Thanx a lot!

There are a number of tools which provide such statistics, mostly block explorers. My 2 most favorite ones are;
  • https://blockchair.com/bitcoin
  • https://bitaps.com/

Block rewards, hashrates and average blocks mined per day are correlated with difficulty on the network.
https://diff.cryptothis.com/
The cryptothis.com website gives the estimated difficulty change in the next adjustment. It is informative for miners and people who have stucked, unconfirmed transactions. Changes in difficulty and hashrates can cause consequent changes in mempool.

The thread is more than 6 months old and as you can see from the profile, Gachet hasn't logged in since early January after creating this thread so your answer won't reach him. Maybe other reads can check that link, but I have never heard about that site.

I don't usually have a website for all these details, instead, I just google things I want to know. Sometimes the answer is straightforward like I searched just now "Current BTC block reward" and google shows me 6.25 BTC while sometimes a little bit of research is required to get the answers.

Yes, I realize it's late but I thought it might be useful for newer readers since the thread is still up and the tool I built actually does have the most Bitcoin data available anywhere.

Google can answer a lot but if you want to see more than 2-3 datapoints at a time or if you want to see more exotic or deeper charts/analysis, a dashboard is better. Also, Google makes a profile about everything you search from your IP but my site doesn't. You don't even need to log in.

Try it out! I would love to see any feedback you have. Thank you!
