Title: Tyler Winklevoss shilling for ETH?
Post by: btc_angela on January 04, 2021, 02:13:58 AM
Seems that the twins are now shilling for ETH, Lol, is this the reason why it is almost touching $1k now? Because of this tweet? Or it is on a break out run?

I'm just surprised though with his tweet, we all know that they are into BTC, but I think they have secretly tons of ETH as well.

They have supported ETH on their platform for many years. I think they also mentioned a while back that they hold a fair bit of ETH. Only recently they have turned into "shilling" mode though. :D

I bet this is one of the reasons behind the recent surge in ETH price, the shilling by the twins and also the fact that ETH futures are launching on CME in the next couple months. That is also probably garnering interest of the investors.

Wasn't aware though that they have a fair share of ETH in their portfolio, I thought they are bitcoin maximalist. But yeah, this is obvious shilling, but it's good though, at least ETH reaches $1k today and maybe we will see some alts follow as well. Market is really taking off starting this year, although bitcoin has it's correction and maybe some are moving to alts, still this overall growth is good for us in the long run.

I would be really surprised to see them without ETH and several other altcoins as well, they were present in Bitcoin before ICO for most top altcoins, and good part of those had airdrop for BTC holders, so at least those are certainly with them, and their position in Bitcoin was good enough for those airdrops to be large
bear in mind that ETH was priced as 1 BTC = 2000 ETH in the ICO, and it outperformed BTC for 50x since induction, so whatever their airdrop was for some altcoins, it is a good position at the moment
nevertheless, as far as I am aware, ETH did not had airdrop for BTC holders

Winklevoss twins are investors into Ethereum and I was told they have not sold any of their ICO Ether, it could be that they are shilling it just for them to have huge liquidity to cash out some position. Another thing to consider is that they have their own exchange and more trading fees can be collected when Etherem trade at high prices, it is a win-win situation for them

Thanks for the replies, yeah, it seems that the twins are also into ETH. The recent tweet really put ETH in the 4 digits, and for early investors they should be happy seeing 10x already, specially if you become a bagholder when it went as low as $80 in 2018.

This could propel Altcoin markets if their leader is already at $1k above and inching close to a new all. time high. So for sure we might see ETH getting into it maybe in the next 2-3 months with new all time high. This year is really a bull run and everyone should be happy about it. (except maybe XRP and those privacy coins).

I'm surprised people with that much influence are allowed to buy and sell crypto. It's potentially very dangerous, look at what McAfee did a few years ago.

These guys have been holding secretly some ETH or maybe the top Altcoins are listed on their personal wallet. One good tweet from these guys will contribute to the surge of the price of ETH nowadays. Just a good tweet though, because if someone has some negative feedback about ETH, I mean some popular celebrities or influencers say something about ETH in a negative way, the price will still remain because, in this situation, only good comments are counted.

There were rumors back in 2018 that the Winklevii has suffered huge losses, after Ethereum plummeted to less than $100 per coin. I am not sure whether the twins sold any of their coin holdings at that rate or not, but they were in a difficult position. IMO, they should have just kept BTC in their portfolio. I don't think that any other coin has given the sort of returns that Bitcoin brought to them.

I believe that Winklevoss twins are also a hodler of Ethereum and some major altcoins.
Tyler Winklevoss is just using his popularity ofcourse to pump his bags, and I am thankful he is not doing it on some random shitcoins.
Speaking of shilling, people now are more educated and already learned from their experiences about following every other random people on the internet what to buy or what to sell. These kinds of activities may not effective now or in the future.

Shill or not they may be excited their investment is going to the roof.
Maybe they are just like an average person that invested with Ethereum.
I do share the same on social media because of the thrill it gave me.
I never thought this will happen again.
It's almost the same as what happened in 2017, it's just that Bitcoin almost doubled in ATH and Ethereum is just the same. It may push even further.

Tyler, dropping from Zuckerberg level to cheerlead cryptos
I think they keep a lot of different coins, so when you think they only have one type of coin, it must be very basic. I also don't think of Ethereum as a second option,They as investors will put a lot of money in different types of coins because it is very promising with a lot of bets. What's more twin winklevoss are very understanding of this situation so they are definitely preparing for a big party with shillings

Wait till they start doing a "coin of the week" segment on their channel. Then we'll all be in trouble. DYOR  ::)

DYOR  ::)

indeed, one must do their own research before investment, investment on a merit from twitter shilling sound stupid, and it certainly is stupid, do not know how to call it otherwise
do your own research and invest based on what you are think that it is going to happen, and invest only in things that you do understand, there is no other way around, one must analyze first and invest later, cannot be stressed enough how this is important
