https://ethereum-mixer.com/ looks like a clone of https://eth-mixer.com/index.html. Can we assume that Eth-Mixer is legit? Their ANN thread was created back in 2018 and doesn't have a lot of posts > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2930843.0

A recent reply from a user in September suggests that he was successful at mixing over 10 ether with Eth-Mixer.

There are many fake mixers when you will use the search. The mixer should use if you don't know either it's reputed or not. The Crypto market is on uptrend now, Ethereum one of those that are bumping nowadays. So attacker targeting now ETH users. We can just create awareness to warn the people, but they have to save themselves.

Anyway, thanks for the warning, hope at least forum users would avoid it now.

Still risky to use it imo. It's weird that the owner is not promoting it that much here, either the service is doing just fine, or sooner or later it can turn into another scam. While 10 ETH is not a small amount, their reputation is just not good enough atm. I'd still avoid it.

Could it be a nice idea to use this thread and update regularly about fake mixers?, just my thought as it will create more awareness to newbies and already members here. What do you think? As coolcryptovator had pointed out that
There are many fake mixers when you will use the search.

Here is fake mixers list I received via personal message from one of bitcointalk users.

https://tether-mixer.com/
https://www.tether-usdt-mixer.com/
https://www.anonymous-tether-mixer.com/
https://www.ethereums-mixer.com/
https://ethereum-mixer.com/
https://www.anonymous-ethereum-mixer.com/
https://www.thecryptomixer.com/
https://www.tether-laundry.com/

Here is another fake ethereum mixer that was found on this forum: ethereummixers.com - scam ethereum mixer (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5307024.0)

Please report these scammers.

https://ethereum-mixer.com/ looks like a clone of https://eth-mixer.com/index.html.

Unfortunately, the fact that mixer scammers use the same template, copy content word for word, copy ANN thread doesn't guarantee that original website is legit. It is better to avoid those ethereum and tether mixers and use reputable bitcoin mixers instead.

USDT & mixer? It's like water and oil since USDT itself isn't decentralized and AFAIK it's company comply with regulation.
As far as I know, there are no legit USDT mixers. All are scam.

Wow  ::) , it does look like some people are trying to hide their privacy while making transactions with bitcoin and ethereum actually have always asked why people are doing it because I as a person don't see the reason why I would want to hide my transactions on the blockchain because I just don't see any reason why I have nothing to hide so this is unbelievable right now thank you for sharing this information I hope those who actually use mixes can learn from this

Normally, it will boil down to privacy reasons, which may have any of a large array of subjacent motives. Say for example that you’ve got 20 BTCs on a given address, and want make a small purchase at a local store with BTC for 0,0009 BTCs (just under 50$). If you pay from that 20 BTC address, and the shop teller has access to seeing the underlying TX, he may well be able to see that you are in fact relatively wealthy, and own at least north of 1M$ in BTCs. He may also snoop through all your prior TXs, and learn something about your spending habits or incomes.

Now that is a major privacy concern, especially if you reiterate your appearance at the shop (or the actual purchase TX ties you to a physical address, besides the BTC address), and though one my depict different strategies to make that more anonymous, one option is to use a Mixing Service.

How do they advertise their websites?
Usually through Google Seo/ads.

Google isn't that too strict with those advertisers that are using google to be on the top results. It's been an issue even before when there were doublers that have passed and able to show to the ad results whenever you type the keyword that has been set for those scams.

Even in YouTube which is also owned by Google, there are ads popping on a video format and as well as on their google playstore. They're not strict and we don't know if they look at this issue very seriously.

I recall i used one of these bitcoin accelerator site ... the legit ones years ago because i sent btc and used a very low fee and after i did it... the transaction sped up.  I forgot the name of it but i recall they only did so and so transactions at the beginning of the hour and only a certain amount.

But these mixers are much different as it does with privacy right?  So what happens here with these fake mixers as in what happens when you use it?

So what are the legit mixers to use if you want to use one?

Do these altcoins even have mixers in the first place? Maybe Ethereum might have because I remember something in the service section which wanted testers and positive vouchs came through but with fees which were high before forking the coin its likely that people were getting lesser coins than agreed or there where chances of running out of gas when mixing ...tbh these are just not the coins to use for mixing  ::) . But thanks for the head's up OP.
