Title: {Warning} Fake Gemini BTC Airdrop
Post by: Baofeng on January 07, 2021, 12:29:12 PM
Please be careful with this so called Winklevoss twins Gemini fake giveaway.

Website:
Code:
https://gemini-giveaways.blogspot.com/
https://gemini-payment2.blogspot.com/

BTC address:
Code:
1ELTNmArkQ3yBLusW4Pj245yAXyhktMcCj

So far it has a final balance of 0.0015 BTC and I do hope it's not from some beginners in crypto.

I have reported this to blogspot already, they are very quick to take down websites that have been using their platform, so I expect that in the next couple of days, this is gone already. However, need to give the community a warning, just in case a newbie saw it in the rounds of social medias.

Such a good project but I think gemini will not make an airdrop now,  their project are doing great, if you want to check if tjey really have airdrop go to their official website for announcement, better to be safe than be scam, need extra careful because we cant afford to lose money from this people.

Just see where maybe Gemini starts an airdrop with blogspot capital and this Gemini is a stable currency I think it will never hold any airdrop in the future, so we still have to be careful, especially new users, we need to see the most important url, and airdrop will never ask for a penny from you, therefore more scamers are not official.

We report the most important thing because if it is still active then it is not impossible that there will definitely be victims, so it is true that the word bafoeng with many reports in the next few days could disappear.

Amazing now they are using free blogging platform to scam people.  This is really hilarious, I am suprised to see  how much the desperate he or she is that they never though of buying a domain and a host. They might have lost a lot of money in their previous scamming venture.

As I expected, the site has been taken down very quick upon reporting, kudos to blogspot.

However, again, this won't be the last as they found out another method to scam people without registering a domain, although blogging platforms like blogspot or even tumblr have a very good response time when reporting abusive site taking advantage of their platform.

Thank you for the warning your made, even if you are an airdrop hunter you can help people not experience losses from scammers. They (scammers) do various ways with the aim of making big profit,,, is really something very annoying
My advice before following the airdrop, we better go their website and analyze the project so that no one is harmed
I have not found a site or trhead that displays list of scam projects,, hopefully in the future there is something that can help with data about the scam project and the people behind the project

I tried to access the Gemini fake giveaway site but it could not be accessed, maybe many have reported so that the site has been deleted by the blogspot party. I hope there is nothing like this, and it is ridiculous to start with blogspot, it doesn't have any capital at all.

Thank you for trying to take the time to provide the catch and for sure we will continue to monitor not to fall for this stupid thing anymore.
Scamers on all platforms are tried especially for free, it's fun for them, but we still be careful.

This is being spread through Youtube channels, so be careful newbies. Although I believed this will be taken down very fast.

Sorry for my ignorance but is this site really connected to Medium? I was looking at the comment section of this article and I saw an account that looks like a legit user
https://i.ibb.co/2Wd2bB0/CR.png (https://ibb.co/gmJ1nCb)
I don't know what's really going on but that name or handle has a huge following on twitter. If the account is fake and these scammers are only impersonating that guy or if that account was hacked and used by scammers to further lure noobs then it's even more dangerous.

It could be hack account that is posting that comment to look legit. Or probably he was paid to do that by the criminals themselves or he is the one promoting it. Either case Gemini or anyone not even Bill Gates or Elon Musk are giving free BTC.

Unfortunately, there are still gullible people who are sending to the scammers address:

Code:
https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/1GxZ9CdoxjJeNNWN9ytmYUWb3SDvMfBWYs

It is possible as well that they themselves are the one sending to their own address to make it legit.
