Title: A stuck transaction in Bitcoin qt
Post by: PaulSasquatch on January 09, 2021, 03:58:29 PM
Hello
A transaction has the status "in mempool/unconfirmed" and the tx cannot be found in block explorer.
tx: ca4e064558416294855794420e78ff47e899a69eff9f65f394965a4cf00d5b6a

Abandon transaction is greyed out, also after using walletbroadcast=0 and deleting mempool.

The wallet is version 0.15xx and runs on Win10. It is not fully synchronised, but already shows the full amount of btc I have in it.

The transaction I did before this one (1 month ago) has the same status, ie. "in mempool/unconfirmed", however the money arrived the same day it was sent.
tx: e451a36642e665baa82760259625b80c6c74c6fe568a148b102b76fc538a7292

What options do I have here? I would like to avoid -zapwallettx.

Is there any problem with synchronizing it fully and/or upgrading it?

Right click on the transaction and select Copy Raw transaction. Go to coinb.in/#broadcast and paste the data there. It should broadcast without errors, if there is, let us know.

Bitcoin Core can't show your recent transactions when it's not synced. My advice: Exit Bitcoin qt, backup your wallet.dat, upgrade Bitcoin qt/Core to the latest version, let it fully synchronize.

Thank you, ranochigo, transaction is now broadcast :). To answer your question, no there is no problem with updating and synching it, I just didn't do it.

Thanks for your advice. Would have been the next step, if above advice didn't work

Where is your Bitcoin Core synced to? ???

That previous transaction was confirmed on the 9th December 2020, in block 660607... so if your Bitcoin Core has not synced up to that block, it won't show the correct status for that transaction. Once it has synced, the status of that transaction will be shown correctly.

If your Bitcoin Core is already synced past that block, and it still isn't showing correctly, you may need to use rescanblockchain from the console.

Ah, so that is what that status refers to. No, the sync is not there yet.
