Title: Gatehub scam?
Post by: zswitch2 on January 09, 2021, 08:06:55 PM
I recently did below transaction to transfer BTC from Gatehub:
https://xrpscan.com/tx/FE17FC1CF0AC33C2D4045359B41CEF10A3B167792152D0DED394FDF808548379

It says, the btc was sent to the Gatehub cold wallet (Gatehub Fifth).

As per their process listed here: https://support.gatehub.net/hc/en-us/articles/360021425613-Send-cryptocurrencies-from-your-wallet

The btc should have been transferred from their wallet as soon as it was received. It's been more than 24 hours and I don't see any transactions on the BTC blockchain for my wallet.

Was I scammed? Or is there something I don't understand? In my transaction history on Gatehub, I verified again the BTC wallet where it is supposed to send the money.

I haven't done this before, can anyone help please?

Looks like you got scammed basing on the reviews I have read on different sites and threads. Lots of angry victims in there.

If you want to read more, Just type of your search engine "gatehub scam"

They are a public company with their founders known. They also message regularly on their social media platforms.

I do see BTC transactions still happening on their cold wallet, how is it even allowed and no one talking about it?

Many people are complaining about them asking for ID verification, which I'm ok with. But this is very scary.

I have emailed their support, I hope they reply back soon.

it could be the scammer was doing a self transaction into their cold wallet. This is happening so many time and when you are seeing it and that seems it's normal to see that because when there have still been the transactions mean the service is still active.

I've never used that exchange but you have to wait for their response on what actually happened.

This story makes me worry about your transfer but I hope that I'm wrong with that worry and they shall help you with the concern that you've sent to them. Wait if they'll respond to you within 24 hours or less than that.

I am just hearing about this platform today, hence I can't say much, but in my own opinion, as it stands now, no one knows what the issue is, it could be an issue from their end, or they are working on their platform which warranted the delay, hence the best practice now is to engage the services of their customer care representatives to understand what really happened and how they will solve the issue. Also, it is through their response that you will be able to know if you have been scammed or not, and if at all you have engaged their services, what are they saying about it? Furthermore, you should be careful of platforms you transact with, and if possible ask questions before using most platforms in order to be safe from the onset.
