This was the first time since 1812 that this kind of thing happened on Capitol and is symptomatic to something that the US would intervene if it happened in some other country (especially if they have any interest in it). However, it's hard to see it escalating much more, but it might bring about Trump's impeachment (or earlier presidency termination). And the lockdowns aren't helping.

If Biden wins, you had better hope that you have lots of friends with guns. Why? Because it will get a whole lot worse for you no matter what country you are in.

I think it's quite scary, actually. The US leads the world in many ways, and often what you see in the US today, you see replicated in other countries tomorrow. Democracy is in quite a bad place at the moment - of course it could have been worse, but the fallout from the election does demonstrate the sort of effect that such polarising politics can have, especially where there is scant regard for truth. We should hope that other coutries don't follow this path.
