Title: Tor onion is/was under attack
Post by: darkv0rt3x on January 10, 2021, 05:07:27 PM
I read this here:
https://darknetdaily.com/?p=1030

What would be the implications for Bitcoin nodes an Lightning Nodes? I tried today to send a few thousand sats from my Lightning node to my BlueWallet on my phone, and all the routing attempts failed, no matter the amount of sats.

failed? do you mean your satosh delivery did not arrive at BlueWallet?
maybe the network is experiencing a long queue?
or maybe there are steps you missed? maybe you should check again.

I meant that my Lightning node stop trying to route the payments after some attempts.
I tried all sort of values from 1000 sats up to 51k sats. All failed!

And I can't connect to any node running behind Tor.

"Due to an implementation bug, v3 onion services were experiencing instability earlier today.
A bug fix is on the way.
Everything else in Tor works fine even when the consensus is a few hours old, and v3 onion services should too"

Isn't tor decentralized? Why do they announce such thing on twitter?
