Many people predict that Ripple will be defeated and replaced by Litecoin, but what happened was not as expected, because it was not Litecoin who defeated and replaced Ripple, but Polkadot who had defeated and replaced Ripple and the unexpected is Cardano who immediately defeated and replaced Litecoin, so that makes me believe that in the future Cardano will beat Ripple and make Polkadot a rival.

OMG!!! polkadot has increased 86.46% in the last 7 days, it makes me a little regret, because before I invested in Ethereum I also wanted to invest in Polkadot, but I prefer to invest in Ethereum, because I believe the price of Ethereum can increase higher than the price of Polkadot, but in fact the price of Polkadot has risen higher than Ethereum, although I believe that soon the price of Ethereum will definitely increase very high too, but if I invest in Polkadot at that time, then now I can get a very big profit.

Polkadot is on another level as ETH2.0 is on the way and everyone so much positive that it might be surpassed ETH in the long run. I'm still with Ethereum , but let see what's going to play around. I have not explored Polkadot but it was said by users to be an eth killer just as most of the token project claiming to be the one that will out rank projects. There were saying that DOT is a copy of Cardano. I dont if there is truth to it but the two will definitely compete in this position.

Of all the alts I didn't invest in, it would have to be DOT that rises to the top.

It would be good to see that but have you experienced with the old chart of the old coin like LINK and ADA. These coins have ever got the same chart like that and after it reached the peak price and the parabolic trend will be happening. This is seomthing new in crypto because i never see DOT gets pumped before to create a new ATH.
DOT could be back to the below top 4 CMC again in the future. We are still in the bullish trend of DOT.

Now regarding to Polkadot, lucky for those investors who invested to this coin and now they are in a profit as of now. A coin that just came out of nowhere and now at the top 5 already. Quite hilarious I think but it is what it is. Currently top 5 base on market cap, DOT have a good future alongside with Cardano. XRP? I'm currently holding some of it but just for short term profits. Not currently holding LTC as of now.

I mean, XRP being replaced that's obviously gonna happen after SEC lawsuit but to predict that polkadot turns out to be the one who overtake XRP is kinda surprising. Although polkadot already known as quality coin but it's really such a surprise not to mention how polkadot gets pumped like so fast and now up around 70%.
I would not be surprised if in the next year polkadot replace overtake ethereum market cap if ethereum issue left unresolved, many people seems to favor polkadot right now.

for now there is indeed a lot of green on the exchange so now is the right time to sell altcoins or buy them and hold for some time to be profitable. but on the other hand, in my opinion, it won't last for a long time so it might return to normal or it can be pumped even higher.

I don't think the word "defeated" and "replaced" is suitable words for what you want to mean OP.
Your picture attached from coinmarketcap is showing the highest market cap in cryptocurrencies, which the new player here is the Polkadot and Cardano. These new faces on the top market cap are outperformed Ripple and Litecoin, which is kinda impressive.

Lol it's why I don't make move on people's advice in crypto space, I only listen and learn from the advices, the fact is no one have the power to know what is going to happen in crypto space in future or even coming months, that is impossible, sometimes we just have to follow our hearts

The ranking cannot be determined in 1 month. I believe we will see more movements in the next days. Notice that the re-increase is more common. Another reason for this is to make a profit, people head to increased coins. And this causes the increasing project value to increase even more and reach somewhere for now, which is not known whether it will be able to protect that place in the future.

It's just the matter of time until the reversal trend will be happening with the DOT. DOT itself entered the overbought zone and DOT is starting to enter the bearish trend.
People should go out from DOT before it will be dumping again by the whales.
It's not so difficult to predict what will be happening with crypto as long as you are aware about the trend.

Just like you rightly said, it was anticipated that Litecoin will beat Ripple, but however it turned out to be the other way around, meaning the crypto space can't be predicted, at the same time, saying that Cardano will beat Ripple might still go the other way around and Ripple will continue being above it, and Polkadot on the other hand might drop in rank; all these are speculations as that is all we can do, while the market is always working differently. Therefore, considering all these, I think it is better to leave the market to work and stop predicting, invest in whatever coin you want with good decisions. However, if Ripple is defeated, then there is every tendency the price will dump more and other coins will overtake it, but for now, let's keep our fingers crossed.

Others opinion can be taken as a comparison to the fact. So many people have been spreading BS if ripple will be the future of payment channel system in crypto but the opposite thing was happening after SEC has been suing ripple for the illegal security token offering.
you must also always use your logic and it seems like DOT is the only potential project from the list that mentioned by OP. XRP and ADA will be going out from its top position.

What the hack, I have never seen this coins before and right now it is placed on the 4th on coinmarketcap rank. Damn, I guess I have missed a lot of opportunity while I was away from the market. Many things have changed and I need to adapt to new situation. I will soon make a research upon this coin.

That's the thing with quite a lot of altcoins, they pump and then dump, if I was an investor in the polkadot coin, I'd have sold it already, I don't quite believe in the long term productivity of altcoins, except for just a few, like Ethereum for example. I'm impressed with the said Polkadot coin, and I just hope their devs/team are looking to continue working on theirs system for the long term, cause if not, there could be a final dump waiting to happen.
I would be surprised, cause I don't think that can happen, is Polkadot the latest in a long line of coins called the 'ethereum killer'. I do not think Polkadot can get the sort of community of investors that ethereum has, Polkadot should basically just work on their system, as there is surely room for improvement, and we'll see where it takes them in the future.

well, polkadot has very good prospects, because when XRP has a problem, polkadot immediately takes his place. however, we will not know what will happen to the cryptocurrency world in the future, but ADA is indeed a coin worth taking into account. if XRP has decreased over time, sooner or later its position will be replaced by other altcoins.

I have been in the market for a long time and do not have much experience with it, what I experience makes me feel like a newbie in this market.

I think that it is really a tough thing to predict this so called state of cryptocurrency because the ecosystem itself is volatile, that only very few made a precise prediction, and most of the times the speculations provided by these analysts are more on the caution side than actual statistics.  I am impressed by the way Polkadot has survived since 2017, really because of the innovations but also how it is being managed. It might also be a contender in the top 2 spot if many are to be believed.

I have my own crypto rule that I will never break, that's never buy coins when they are surging or when they are at a new ATH, you can never know when they will plan to retreat on you, to me it's too late to buy bitcoin unless you have the money to take risks, it's better to go altcoin fully right now cos it looks like Bitcoin is out of chakra juice already

Saying you don't know why Polkadot increase so high means you don't know anything about Polkadot, this project is a very strong project with fully ready team who are so determined to take this project higher, every single projects that runs on Polkadot platform are successful, that's enough to create insane awareness for Polkadot, this project could be the most worthy Ethereum wannabe

LTC can still beat XRP out of its position in future but I don't really care which one takes the third or fifth position, every God damn projects on top 10 rank have my outmost respect and they all deserve a place in my portfolio I believe, XRP isn't defeated yet, if SEC never went after XRP things might be different for XRP right now

Ripple is currently facing a law suit which can not be taken lightly by some investors unlike dot, besides they are not at 'war of best crypto' so i don't see the point, the rank is not a permanent place for any coin, anything can happen in the future, everyday there are new project coming out so you never know which one will be good enough to out perform the old ones.

I don't think Cardano was unexpected, because from the start they had better technology and structure in my opinion. Cardano also has a good community when compared to XRP. and I think Cardano will be one of the most positive developments in the bullish this time

OP, I wonder why people still consider LTC to be the coin to dethrone XRP when it have loose it reputation long ago and in the future I dont see ADA having the capacity to be DOT rival if the DOT team dont messup their reputation like LTC did.

It doesn't matter kind of consensus that already used. The POS concensus can also create a cap for its total supply. that depends on the project developer whether they wanna put the hardcap supply or not.
There are also so many POW coins have been putting non sense total supply. So many POW coins are dead too.

Indeed its very hard to predict the movement of cryptocurrencies and sometimes what you didnt expect tend to happen just like the increase of polkadot. I dont have knowledge about this coin but I was surprise seeing it overtaking litecoin, cardano and ripple. There's something we didnt know in this particular coin because we are too focus on bitcoin and ethereum. Well I guess I have to dig deeper now to understand why the ranking changed.

I think what is happening now is beyond the predictions of investors for an altcoin, because there are so many green projects at the same time and this is likely a lot of crypto needs that make many investors issue their tokens with high prices and sell. this is certainly good and I think it will last much longer.

Cryptocurrency were already a volatile currency which i guess a characteristics that has already been it's identification. At the moment, as i have encounter other people who has a glimpse of idea about cryptocurrency what they have told about it was, it is a volatile currency, unpredictable. Well, i couldn't disagree with them because it is also the reality of it but of course as a crypto user and trader for a quite some time i had already know how to deal with that's why i couldn't blame them because it is true that it is difficult to predict.

It's very hard to assume anything about cryptocurrencies. None exactly knows when the price will rise or fall. Its 60% depends on luck and the others on one's Knowledge. So i think its better to invest with both. Your knowledge and faith in allah. Both will make your effort to 100%.

We have predicted the current market based on what happened last 2017 but things are going the other way this time and it's now hard for everyone to predict the possible things that might happen in the market in the coming days. As of now, there are lots of new coins that reach a good spot in the CMC. I honestly do not think that it is the year of the whale, it is the year of the bulls right now, even the smallest investments are making a profit and that is a great thing. Even if you invested like 100 bucks into bitcoin at the right time you could had 500 bucks right now, if you had 100 bucks in ethereum you could had 1000+ dollars right now, and I can count some other coins as well but it basically turned profit for everyone and that is a great thing.

Whale is the rich people, that means rich people made profits and that would make sense however that would be only applicable if rich people made money and usually they do, however this time around we are looking at something much better, we are looking at everyone making profit, whales dolphins even shrimps are making money this year. Its also still possible for a new Cryptocurrency to defeat them all since that is what Polkadot did but since we are all just looking at values, I can see better investment opportunities for Ripple since its easy to buy them at a low price and it has better volatility instead of the other Cryptocurrencies. Its not stable but it would still be profitable if you can sell at the right moment.
