The previous ATH was $1,432. What do you think? Will Ethereum go much further than the new ATH of $1,440? Should we wait to double the price as Bitcoin did in less than a month?

I have a good feeling it will reach it's new ATH this week since three years ago and with this it will a be start of the alts season based in my opinion. As bitcoin hits it's new ath and of course ethereum won't be lift behind with the bull seasons on the rises. Congratulations to ETH holders time has come to rejoice then, do I only have little hold but it doesn't matter.  ;)

According to coingecko (https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/ethereum) and coinmarketcap (https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ethereum/) Ethereum ATH is $1,432.88 and this price was on Jan 13, 2018 - ATH not reached yet, your topic name is misleading or clickbait. You just rush with your wishes :)

But I'm sure that in several days ATH will be updated. However, I'm not sure that Ethereum price would double like Bitcoin's did. Just dont understand why its price should go up so immediately, when it grows slowly previously.

Yes the previous ATH was $1,432.88. According to TradingView, Ethereum just passed that price level on 19 January 11:56 UTC.

Ethereum did show a pretty positive signal earlier this week. maybe ethereum will hit a new ATH this week if the bitcoin trend continues. btw, I saw for a while at the data that the CMC showed that the peak price was $1,428

what i really dont understand is why is this sky-rocketing ??  gas is so expensive , a lot of ( games) dapps has suffering under these high gas.

For sure it will break it's ATH, and it's about that time, we have been waiting for the alt market to make it's own bull run and I said that it should start with ETH. I'm not sure though if it can double like what we have seen in BTC. Bitcoin has change it's narrative that's why the price suddenly shoots up, maybe $1800-$2k will be a good gauge in the next month for ETH. So let's see how this bull run will go and this is good news for altcoin market.

That is a surprise to me because finally, ethereum can lift the price and break $1,400 again. Ethereum price will increase more than the current price, and I think the price will have the possibility to break $1,500 soon. I do not just want to hold ethereum because I see the chance to profit from the up and down of the price, and if I can make a profit from that, I am sure that I can do that repeatedly think my profit will be bigger. But I wonder how deep the price will be if the price is down.

the most i hate is, i have invested in a lot of games, when i bought it , the eth was low so i payed good amount eth to games , like Gods unchained get 18 eth from me, this mean i put  25k ( atm) in this card game, hell no i will get my eth back if i sell my cards.. this was a simple example have more games ...

and the biggest annoying part is , when i was investing , a good friend of my he told me not to do it , it was wasting my money , but i was stubborn .. and now he laughs at me ...

My bads bro. You should've spent your dollars instead. But, it is very hard to foresee that kinda of things.

I do think that in february prices will go crazy.

It was expective because the Ether price within the week was hovering around $1200+ so the All-time high price record is an inch away so the bull was present the entire week thats, why the new highs were achieved now, by the way, the more interesting question, is how long Ethereum will hold its price gains? and I hope it will continue pushing its price up to the $2K level if possible.

i think now that there is a new record we should expect more on gas fee right? although i haven't transfer anything since yesterday so i don't know if it has reduce or increase,  anyways, it has already being speculated that eth will surpass the previous ath so am not surprise, this is just the beginning, my only sadness is the former.   

ETH could become the next bitcoin and Vitalik could become the world's richest person considering amount of ETH he has pre-mined. However, despite all the positives, ETH transactions are becoming really expensive day by day and all tokens built on ETH blockchain are getting harder to mobilize. If it keeps on increasing at the same pace, ETH may become unusable because of the transaction cost!

i know right ?! things are getting worse, almost like bank fees and taxes, it's like we are slowly going that way, exchanges and other platforms asking for KYC to use them, if things keep getting worse, there would be no difference in using crypto over regular paypal and credit cards.

High gas costs will always be a problem, especially for small traders, they should think twice about making a transaction there. In my opinion, It's a big problem that Ethereum developers need to solve right away, If the developer doesn't act immediately, traders will look for other alternatives to make transactions.

In a month, Ethereum will make a new ATH, but double isn't possible in a month. In a few months, Bitcoin will take another correction. Ethereum can't make bullrun without Bitcoin. After the third quarter this year, Ethereum could make a double pump.

It looks like bitcoin is out of power and it's now altcoins turn to shine, I thought bitcoin will have to hit 50,000$ before Ethereum surge up to a new ATH? Anyways this bullseason will last longer than that of 2017 I believe so let's keep gearing up

I don't think it is suprising that Ethereum broke ATH. The crypto market has been bullish for weeks leading to 2021. Was I expecting this to happen sooner? Yes!! There are many reasons for Ethereum’s rise,  the first is DeFi.  The total value set in various protocols is approximately $25 billion.  Companies use the Ethereum network to build applications and smart contracts, which increases the demand for Ethereum. Also there's the emergence of Ethereum 2.0 which offers a solution to high transaction fees and slow network. These factors must certainly played a role in the rise of Ethereum price.

its not about trading on exchanges, but like the example i gave before about Gods Unchained game,  if i want buy a card that cost 0.000001 eth , i pay gas around 0.025 eth ... not doable ..
but we will see where this will end , the noices about eth2.0 will bring a solution for this , but then when will this come ? since 2018 / 19  i am waiting for it ...

The new ATH is not too far anymore, we will easily reach the new price. More dynamism is needed only in the altcoin market. Recently, the price has already reached the desired consistency. The only difference is that some (best ones) altcoins barely break 2018 ATH while BTC price doubles. But we are in a good position compared to 1 week ago, hopefully, prices will grow as time passes.

Ethereum could even touch the higher rate than it and it's stilll quite stable at this moment. This is the time for ethereum to eat the dominance that owned by bitcoin to the crypto market. If ethereum can get around 8% from the bitcoin dominance in crypto market and that will be so big.

I also saw it and it's on every news now, I think this was always expected to happen when Ethereum started pumping even before the bull run started, finally we are here I can only hope now that it will continue to pump this way, the next target now should be breaking the $1500 barrier, that could happen any time soon even today, $2000 per eth looks achievable now, let's wait and see how things turns out.

Bitcoin took very little time to double its ATH. Ethereum took much longer to reach its ATH. I think Ethereum will reach $2000 very soon. However, dumping of bitcoin will reduce the possibility of pumping Ethereum. Bitcoin needs to be stable for at least some time for reaching Ethereum $2000.

If bitcoin has doubled compared to the previous maximum price, ethereum has a chance to grow to $ 2800-3000.
If the demand for coins does not stop, then Ethereum has every chance of reaching these values.

It's good to see Ethereum climbing like this. It all points to the direction that altseason is soon starting.

Now "why is Ethereum climbing when it's so expensive to use?" - it's expensive to use thanks to the fact that a lot of people are interested. Just the normal way of things happening.

And that simply is the problem ETH has to overcome first. To make it so that people do not spend more than the thing they actually want to buy or the smart contract they want to execute,,, which is ridiculous by any means.

But fixing that problem they have sacrificed stability,,, let us see how ETH 2.0 fares in an attack first and if that will determine how many people remain on the chain.

It already started way before ETH's rise. I believe this is truly unnecessary and like every other tokens user, I'm not happy at all because to move even $15 worth of tokens to an exchange, I need to pay more than $6 (at the time of writing this) to miners just for the sake of getting my transaction confirmed and as there are chances of failures, I'm scared that I may lose everything if I send less in fee.


Literally typical nonsense and highly unwanted. ETH miners must be making fortunes but we people are suffering a lot due to this and unable to make ^cheap^ transactions over ETH Network.

There is nowhere else could the direction of eth go but up when there is bullrun.  Its more than likely to break that ATH, its when it will happen that you will have to figure.

The growth is very gradual for Eth, it took more than a week to spike up to $1400. Considering that there are so much opportunity somewhere else, a weak hands would move out of ETH before another breakout.

But is there a real demand on Ethereum? I think the only demand it has are due to high transaction fee. Users just need to spend more Ethereum to perform same trade.
Bitcoin doubled its price without any strong resistance (just looking in how its price passes +3-4k levels) and bitcoin is one of a kind. While Ethereum has competitor blockchains and issues with fees. I think it wont double its price easily.

A lots of expectation coming from the investors side, the very reason why the price is climbing up. With more trust from traders and holders

the value will continue to pump high, after breaking the last time high for sure investors will aim for more, while holding and newcomers also

start to invest, the potential is more bigger than the last time high.

We can not say it will be doubled like Bitcoin but no doubt we can expect it will continue to rise more in the coming days. I don't expect in one month it will be doubled as you are thinking. We should wait and watch and should not make haste to sell the Ethereum that we hold.

The crypto market looks just fine. Less than a month later, Ethereum coped with its task and set a new record.
But, this is just the beginning, I am sure that Ethereum, like bitcoin, will not stop at updating its records, but will follow further, up to price points of 2000 -3000 dollars. It sounds fantastic now, but I'm sure it will.

New record with ethereum raise above $1,400 and will possible for eth raise above $2,000? or bad thing like last time when eth raise above $1,500 and then dump under $100, just my mind remember when eth success raise higher price later year by year eth dump and waiting more than three year to see eth have higher price now.

WOW! 2800-3000 is a very high price for Ethereum. Still, Bitcoin won't stop the bullrun until the last quarter of this year 2021. I believe Ethereum could break the last top ATH. The 3000k price is very high for Ethereum. I know Ethereum could surge more than 3k in the last quarter. More time must be needed to show the effect of Ethereum 2.0.

The ATH maybe different for many exchanges but the over average ATH has not been broken ($1,448), You can cross check with coingecko chart of ATH, it was close anyway and I feel like everyone that we could break ATH this week. Bitcoin did something similar pump last year that broke many exchanges but not the average ATH but reverse before it attain 2x from previous ATH

Currently, ETH is growing rapidly, apart from breaking the ATH will most likely make a new 2x ATH from the previous ATH, I think this am a very good start of a year to raise the price to $ 3000, I don, 't know if  this am the effect of the etherem 0.2, hopefully coins2 others may follow in ETH's footsteps, and 2021, are the time to party for ETH,

I feel like the period when we talked about whether bitcoin could break ATH and then it passed and increased very quickly. Speaking of ETH, the price will still depend on the volatility of BTC, overall the uptrend is still in progress, I think there is a high chance that we will see a rapid increase in ETH.

It could happen sooner or later, but we need to prepare for anything that can happen. We should know when we need to sell or buy, and we can do that before anything worst happen. The price will break $1,500 soon, but we need to be patient and follow where the price wants to move. If the ethereum price is down and stays at a low price in the next hour, that will be our time to buy more ethereum because maybe we will not see the low price again soon.

That's what i going to bring up also because upon checking Ethereum does not reached 1,440$ yet though maybe He uses different exchange to check the latest value.

There are some thread i have passed that Polkadots increase will Help Boost the Ethereum Platform and maybe the reason for the another record ETH will bring this year, but if when this will happen? who knows..

^ I just checked Coinmarketcap but it looks like Ethereum hasn't reached ATH yet ^{[Coinmarketcap usually uses global average prices from all world exchanges]}. Currently, the Ethereum price is still down and has not shown it will go up again but I still in my prediction that Eth will not touch ATH in the near future.

As Ethereum gains the upper hand with technological advantages, its investors might see $1,500 in the near term.

Technically speaking it didn't really broke the ATH price by the biggest places, in biggest places like binane and coinbase the price peaked at around 1421 and the ATH was 1446 so it wasn't there just yet, with 20 more dollars to go. Basically there were some places that took it higher and we could even consider it broken if we want to but the reality is that price is now down to 1300 levels so it is not really that bad looking at this second.

Surely you could always focus on getting it better, you could assume that since it broke it once, we are going to break again and it will be like the 20k period in bitcoin where we go to 3k for ethereum. I am not saying that will happen but I say I understand people who think that will happen and it may happen. However at the end of the day we are looking into something much bigger than that, we are looking into beating a 3 year bear run, and that is very important.

Its $1,323.11 price as of this moment checking out in coinmarketcap.com and seeing those numbers then it isnt really that too far off on breaking those peaks that you had mentioned.

We do need a little bit more push towards the price.Im not that aware on whats happening with ETH and other some alts which are on greens and btc is on the red part of pullback at the moment.
Is there already some switch up on the trend or dominance? Good thing or lucky for those who bought when ETH had still that 700-900 price a few weeks ago.

I think Ethereum will definitely grow. Interest in Ethereum is undoubtedly great, but really large investors still prefer to cooperate with Bitcoin, and this can be explained by financial benefits. When the Bitcoin rate collapses, Ethereum will get ahead, so do not rush to part with this promising coin.

I really believe in the potential of Ethereum, so for sure Ethereum will pass the ATH price. We as Ethereum holders just need to be patient.

Ethereum will create a new ATH price. But if I consider the price of Ethereum when it was early 2020, which was still cheap, I should have

After it broke that price or after it has gone up to $1,400 it had started to drop. There are a lot of Ethereum holders that are just waiting for it to get into $1,400 and so they can start dumping it. Did you guys sell at the top because it was a quick stay for Ethereum at that price? Waiting for it to double the price like $2800 will take time. Who knows? if it's another long waiting game. We've waited for this for three years and what if the next ATH will take that amount of time.

For those who had bought ETH into those times where it is still on its peak into those previous years then they do definitely sell off their bags unless if they do still hold
those coins after 3 years of holding but i doubt that most of them had already sell out in loss but for those who had able to hold that back then they had made break even
now on what they had invested wayback.

Breaking out ATH isnt something that can be attained and there would be several rejections that can be seen and just like what happened in BTC where it did take some time

It's not. Did you watch the bearish trend that happened with bitcoin last days? ethereum can even sustain from the dump that happened on bitcoin. It seems like the bullish trend that's happening with ethereum is still continue.

Ethereum made a new all-time high and the current ethereum price is $1190. After bitcoin, I am very bullish on Ethereum. Ethereum is just not an altcoin, it's a supercomputer. it's a smart contracts king, Most of the altcoin is made with ethereum. So why  I am very very bullish on Ethereum. This year is the year that altcoins will thrive, many hope that because we know that only a few altcoins have reached ATH like ethereum of course, so with many altcoins reaching ATH there will be a very promising bounty and we are waiting for that. ethereum will also create a new ATH.


ethereum is very difficult to be able to quickly quickly change the ATH by multiplying it, because ethereum needs a slow process when the end is certain. keep in mind that this year is altcoin year and all top and potential altcoins will experience their ATH. we will look forward to that time.

In fact, significant changes were expected after the introduction of the first phase of the Ethereum 2.0 update. Only fiat pair, still btc pair long way for new ath, but most likely not happen, eth has gain more supply than before

Btc will going down for while atleast 21-25k$ and eth will follow the dips, end year sure 5k-10k for eth

It is unlikely that Bitcoin will go below $ 30,000. It seems to me that this is another bottom, the mark of which cannot be reduced. Ethereum still has a large power reserve and is significantly lagging behind BTC, but nevertheless it is today practically at the level of its all-time high, but whether it will rise to $ 5,000 by the end of 2021 is a real mystery.

ETH just made a new all time high and yes it will continue to rise because the up trend is not done yet and we might reach the level of $2k before the year end, this can be the very peak of this bull trend and since altcoins season are already happening, ETH will lead the altcoin market to its very best, also that update contributes a lot to the success of ETH today.
