Title: Coinbase for Alt Coins....
Post by: shadecat on January 19, 2021, 09:14:40 PM
Hi Folks
Newborn here. Can really use your opinions and expertise.
Is Coinbase the best exchange for Alt Coins?
I've been reading quite a few opinions from people saying that they are having a hard time accessing their coins or have interminable waits to be approved. Many feel the company is not on the up and up.
If you prefer a different one please let me know.

While you're in the giving mood...what do you do when a new coin comes out and it's not offered by your exchange?

Sorry for the neediness. lol
Cheers!

This is right they have some hard time right now in few issues so just do some more search and then use any exchange right now we have few good exchanges like Binance, Kucoin and Bitmart these are doing much better service for their customers if you have time then check these and start your journey here in this crypto world peacefully.

For me only Binance is a complete crypto exchange infact one step ahead it is like a one stop shop for most of the things related to crypto and i really like the way how they have not missed out on anything and kept their business updated with the new needs, they are doing great and that is why they are the largest used platform for crypto enthusiasts.

Yeah, it's better to avoid it until you experience it on your own that you'll get some time from its delay. If you're from US, they have binance.us.
But if you're just a regular trader or investor outside US, you can use binance.com. There are too many choices of altcoins that you can buy and trade on it.

The problem with Coinbase is that they have the notoriety of always being down with there is a sudden spike on trading volume specially during a bull run.

And I would agree to go with Binance, maybe Polo or Kraken or Huobi.

In any case though, you are still a beginner, I would suggest you really learn how to trade properly. I would say that there are no exchanges for beginners or experts, all of them are the same. They can be used by anyone, regardless of your level. It really up to you how to take advantage of those exchange to get some experience.

For me, Coinbase is not a good idea to use for buying and selling cryptocurrencies, altcoins or Bitcoin.
There are lot of alternatives for Coinbase, since Coinbase have some problem regarding with AML, KYC policy, especially if you are from country which cryptocurrency is extremely strict.
If you just want to buy and hold, you may try Kraken or Binance. For trading altcoins, you can try Binance or FTX.
Just try to check those exchanges.

Of course there is a lot of work in the online world nowadays and this is a very good platform to provide lessons for too. there are many things that we can know in the crypto world and it is also very profitable for someone who is good at trading analysis.

Coinbase is not the best exchange for altcoins or trading cause they have huge restriction and place the US SEC rules and regulations as their top priority which the reason some of their have a hard time some time to access or withdraw their coins especially users that are outside the US which I am also once the victim of their restriction but Binance is the best exchange we have so far in every aspect (trading and secure users fund)

Coinbase has been getting a lot of negative media as of late, because they chooses to work with some government entity and then it has its own internal conflict. And as someone mentions, they usually have some unannounced maintenance, so not good if you are doing some swing trading as you might get trap and not making good profits.

Look for alternatives out there, many is better than Coinbase as far as altcoin trading is concern.

I prefer to use Binance or KuCoin to trade than to use Binance. But I have an account in Binance, but I have not used it for a long time ago. I feel not comfortable to use Coinbase, and that is why I still use Binance and KuCoin. What I like from Binance is that we do not have to verify our account; even if they limit our account to withdraw, I guess that will not be a problem because we can still withdraw the profit. Besides that, I read much negative news about Coinbase, including the server down when bitcoin rally.

You must have heard right, Coinbase can be said to be less friendly and less flexible when compared to other exchanges like Binance, Kucoin etc, thus if I am to suggest, I do not think it is good having anything to do with Coinbase when other exchanges offers more better services, features and are very accommodating. Thus, I think you can try some other exchanges starting with Binance, the reason Binance has been the top exchange till date is owing to the team's plans towards making everything easier and accommodating for all users, such as limited withdrawal can be done without KYC, the mobile app is very user-friendly thus making trading easier. Other exchanges which also offers good trading services are Kucoin, Bithumb, Huobi and so on. Therefore, you can start with Binance or try all these exchanges to know the one that will best suit you.
Also, when a coin you want is not traded on your desired exchange, you can check on coinmarketcap to see where it is listed or visit the project group to ask the team where it is listed, then check the exchange, check their withdraw method (that is KYC or no KYC) and if it's okay by you, then register, buy the coin and withdraw to your personal wallet or sell the coin and withdraw your BTC, ETH etc to your personal wallet.

Coinbase is one of the most secure platforms out there today. It is very easy to buy, sell and store cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum and many altcoins on it. I can't say anything bad about that exchange. There are other good platforms, of course, but this one is proven.

Coinbase is secured but it's centralized, my advice is never use their wallet to store your coins, you won't be given access to your backup keys and again their customer service isn't the best, they ate too slow for my liking, binance exchange is better and even kucoin is better too

I'm not sure you know the difference between centralized wallets and DEX wallets? Just asking since you are a newbie, do not make mistake that other newbies are doing, do not store your assets on any exchanges, download trust wallet and move your coins to your wallet, also write down your recovery seed for safe keeping

You don't have to stick with one exchange, any new coin can decide to use other exchange small or big and avoid coinbase, I have accounts on different crypto exchanges because some altcoins will be available on one or two exchanges and some aren't even available on Centralized exchanges at all

Can't even use Coinbase so I don't have a personal opinion but for people I know who DO use Coinbase, actually their experience is opposite from what you generally hear online. That is, they actually find a good experience. Coinbase's problem is just about KYC and fees. Fulfill the first, and bear the second, and you're generally allright.

I think Coinbase exchange is more complicated for trading altcoins because it was very strict in terms of requirements compared to Binance, Actually, I'm using CoinBase and Bittrex before but after Binance exchange was launched I prepared to use it for personal reasons and in alternation, with Bittrex exchange I believe the most common problem of Coinbase is the withdrawal fees and processes sometimes it needs to wait a long period before it was done thats why I dont like it.

Nowadays almost exchanges have slightly tough rules for members, maybe Coinbase included. but there are some decent and easy to use exchanges like OKEx or binance. I have been using binance for 1 year and OKEx feel comfortable without any problems. this is a little advice for you

Those people that had hard time accessing their coins on coinbase must have used coinbase wallet to store their coins or they are not verified members yet, the answer is there is no coins that you want to buy on coinbase that's not present on other exchanges, I don't want coinbase problem so binance exchange is best suit for me

Coinbase exchange services are too strict for my liking, you can't trade on that exchange unless you are KYC verified and also coinbase team are the ones in control of users private keys, they dont give them out to users, they have every right to sit on your asset and deny you of withdrawal if they want

I see every market has its own rules and policies, and here (coinbase) they follow the rules of the U.S and don't want any problems with the SEC. So it's no wonder it's going to be complicated to start there.
There are many market options out there,,start an easy and certainly reliable with all the security of your money
You can try market binance, okex or Kucoin,, make sure you feel comfortable and safe

Coinbase is an exchange with a very good reputation, compared to Binance I think Coinbase is better than Binance,
it's just that it's not easy to trade there, yes only a few coins selected there will be traded, of course making traders unable to trade their favorite coins,
this is which makes Coinbase's credibility even better, the coins listed there are not bad projects, there is a lot of analysis that must be done beforehand,
and will greatly impact future prices.

There is no doubt for Coinbase for Altcoins, because altcoins will be very bullish when it comes to Coinbase,
many facts have happened, that Coinbase has a huge impact on the Pump of the selected altcoins,
of course before being listed on Coinbase and rumors spread, Fomo will happen, this means Coinbase is the equivalent of Binance's Fomo.

While you're in the giving mood...what do you do when a new coin comes out and it's not offered by your exchange?
Since you are new in the market, my only advice is not jump into new coins even if they promote it as the next big project or coin that could surpass everything else. If you are willing to learn about new projects the alt coins section gives you many option and information about new projects but you need to weed out the scams and fake projects.
To get a coin listed in exchanges there are charges the developers need to pay and usually according to the budget a project is having the coins are listed in exchanges and if the exchange you are trading is not offering you can check the project /coin website to identify where they are planning to list.

For some time Binance was the best exchange for any coins, but for now CZ is listing a lot of dubious coins and coins with potential risks. So Coinbase is a really good exchange for many new projects, because this exchange work only with really big and trusted projects. And if Coinbase confirms listing of the project, it definitely deserves an attention

Coinbase exchange services are too strict for my liking, you can't trade on that exchange unless you are KYC verified

Yep, compared to the other crypto exchanges, Coinbase has some issue regarding different matters. One of it was the KYC and if you wanted to have smooth transactions with this exchange, make sure you comply all the needed details. And make sure also to read their FAQS and TOS as there are some who aren't aware that Coinbase has the right to purposely hold your coins whenevee you didn't comply or if you don't follow their TOS.

DYOR, perhaps you can find other aside from that that has less issues.
