Title: RFC — current market for peeled Casascius
Post by: nubbins on January 20, 2021, 03:20:30 PM
Requesting links to recent auction/sale threads of peeled Casascius coins. Thinking about offering a couple but the forum search still sucks and I’m not up to date on the scene anymore   ;D

Not a lot. Anything beyond a month or so ago is also going to be fairly skewed. I did a quick search and here is your best option on a buyer maybe (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5305098.msg55983440#msg55983440) as they expressed interest from a different thread.

I used the forum search and it wasn't so bad just have select the box find in title, set max days and only look on the collectibles board.

Personally, just take a photo of one and put it up for an auction without a reserve bid, and a decent min bid increment and 7 days runtime. That's the best way to gauge the market value. That or just post it all with images and ask again, as it will be easier for people to help you when they know what you have.

Depending on what coin it is. what condition it is in. If it still has the holo or not. If it is graded (assuming not since it's peeled). $100 and upwards to a few thousand.

Currently compiling all sold coins. Funded as well as peeled to make this process easier for all of us. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5310288.0

Here's a recent auction:

I might have overpaid a little but I wanted to add some peeled Cas to my collection and didn't wanna pass the opportunity.

You can do an auction with similar prices and see how it plays out. I might be in if the price is right :D

Assuming nubbins' account has not changed hands they will be Cas silvers and handled in the most delicate fashion throughout their lives.

Unfortunately I think my account is a little bit less valuable now with all my assorted WoodCollector-related neg ratings  ;D

Appreciate the info, might throw up an auction thread or might just keep the darn things.

I don't see any peeled Cas coin being sold lately but as far as I remember. People tends to buy brass coin for 200 to 250$ and silver is way higher than that, Not sure about the exact price but the physical coin value itself does not change in fiat.

Most the transaction of peeled cas coin is via PM because there is no define value for it so usually buyer make offer in private.

Some peeled cas coin thread:
