Title: AdkinsBet - My personal experience
Post by: LFC_Bitcoin on January 24, 2021, 04:13:51 PM
The AdkinsBet scam accusations have been bothering me for a while.  It began to remind me of scam accusations against other trustworthy casinos that turned out to be fake.

I automatically believed the accusers which is probably a little silly. Any way, I set up an account with AdkinsBet this weekend & made some bets to test them out.  They offered good odds so I figured why not.

I was quite lucky on an accumulator & won 0.01BTC from my stake.
I made my first withdrawal request which was processed successfully with no issues.

It makes me think that the scam accusations against them are possibly match fixers & or multi-accounters.

Any way, hopefully all the scam accusations get settled and they are able to be another trustworthy sportsbook that myself and others can use.

There are a few questions/requests still left unanswered:

1. Proof of solvency via a signed message.
2. The question of whether players knew about ToS changes, never mind agreeing to them.
3. The strange behavior of some users posting personal details.
I tried to be generous but there were way too many red flags - those neutral ratings reflect my understanding at the time and I didn't want to tag them until I thought it was vital to prevent new players from joining.

Let's not extrapolate from a sample size of 1.

Do they know that you are LFC_Bitcoin from the forum, I mean the account you created - do they know that you own it?
If yes then this experience does not give any value or maybe very less value that it should not even been considered a positive experience, it's just a random regular experience. Since you have a reputed account on the forum, its predictable that they will show you that they are a good bookie.

I got 1mBTC free bet in my account and doubled it and withdrew it, but the amount do not justify a sport book. If I deposited a large sum of my own money (maybe 1BTC or more) and would win a bet with very good odd to double or triple the stake and if I would withdraw my winning and deposits smoothly then I would say yes I have a very good personal experience. Besides, I may also need to hide my forum presence too, like not saying that I am user x from the forum.

How about you make a deposit of 1 BTC (just a random number I am thinking by the way) to their site and make some bets, and hopefully you win big :-P
Would you do that? The reputation they have earned from the community so far does not reflect that they are trusted with a large amount of money. In fact, I doubt they have enough reserves to pay large winnings.

Anyway, some accusations are very clear to realize that Adkinsbets are scamming, I do not think we all have any doubt in it.

I had similar experience like LFC_Bitcoin when using Adkinsbet, and I had no issues when I tested their website.
Bets placed without any issues and withdrawals worked just fine, and I am always a bit suspicious about new members creating accusation topics especially after we saw similar patterns with other betting websites.

There is always a house side and website terms that enables them to change/cancel bets if they notice anything suspicious, and maybe we don't like it but many betting websites are doing this.

I left them a neutral tag (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=2882335) at first, but added a negative tag when they admitted to holding a user's funds hostage. That's just untrustworthy behaviour.

Let's not extrapolate from a sample size of 1.
Agreed. For instace selective scamming can leave a service with many satisfied customers who vouch for them, and only a few users who get scammed.

Thank you for signing up and reporting your experiences with Adkinsbet, it means a lot to hear something different from what their victims are saying.

So, if you kept your anonymity, do you think it is possible they are selectively scamming (say 1 in 100 customers which leave 99 happy ones while 1 is screaming and shouting "I have been scammed"?)

And there can be no doubt their thread is being pumped by sock-puppets and others that might be paid shills and when businesses do that they simply bring negative attention to themselves, what are your views on that?

Let us not forget they offered to partially pay victims their funds on the basis DT members withdraw support for the flag against them. Whether DT members support or withdraw support for a flag it should have nothing to do with Adkinsbet fully refunding a victim they are holding funds from, it was very unethical behaviour on part of Adkinsbet.
