What is paybtc?

Simply put, paybtc is a service which allows you to instantly pay bills or pay bank accounts with Bitcoin. As the number of people who hold Bitcoin grow along with its dollar value, people will start to choose to use their Bitcoin savings to pay some of their bills or fiat denominated debt. One of the prevailing narratives of Bitcoin is that you should never spend it or sell it, however logistically for most people this isn’t feasible. Based on the simple principle that most people will need some kind of off-ramp, so we built the fastest and most efficient one in Australia.

FAQ

How fast are payments?

Instant Bank Payments:
Funds are cleared and available instantly after 1 block (about 10 minutes), 24 hours per day 7 days per week.

Check to see if your bank supports NPP here.

Regular Bank Payments:
If your bank doesn't support NPP typically the money will be in your account next-day.

BPAY Bill Payments:
Payment is sent after 1 block confirmation (~10 minutes), the biller typically then receives funds within 2 business days.

Are there any fees?

There are no fees and we're committed to providing a fast, simple and secure service for Australians. The amount you see during a payment is the exact amount you’ll receive. We operate off currency spread.

What's the maximum I can send?

Bank payments have a maximum of $250,000 each, with clearing in just 1 block (10 minutes). You can pay up to $250,000 per day. If you would like to apply for higher limits please contact us.

BPAY payments have a maximum of $1,000 each with up to $250,000 in total per day. Remember you can split a bill across numerous transactions if the bill is over $1,000.

How do I verify my ID?

Digital ID Instant:
This option is run by Digital ID and takes 2 minutes on average to fully verify your account. It's available after your first payment is made.

Manual:
This option is more private by allowing you to directly send us a photo of your face next to your ID and provide proof of address. We then verify your acount in under 1 hour.

Seems like you guys have a better rate than Living Room of Satoshi, and also have faster service.

LBC rates are still somewhat better than what you guys are offering, though. What exactly sets your service aside from p2p alternatives apart from the fact that LBC requires 3 confirmations and you only require one?

On a side note, I really like the minimalistic design. I'll certainly try it out when I get the chance.
