The main flaw you found is that it can entirely replace the old system?

You're not going to get rid of money laundering as people are just going to keep using gold and diamonds...

It is quite an interesting idea though. I'd say you'd still need to have someone trustworthy in custody of the item though and you'd probably still want physical access to it if you owned a part of it. This might open access to a lot of arteorks that are privately owned too as they could be presented in gallaries and increase their upkeep (I'm not certain if government art gallaries own their pieces or not).

Blaming art for money laundering without evidence seems like the wrong idea.
This is a new direction, works of art on the blockchain do not require physical protection and special storage space, so they will be very popular over time.
