Title: Most popular crypto card?
Post by: btcb3g1nn3r on February 02, 2021, 07:01:43 AM
hello guys,

I appreciate the work done here Crypto debit cards (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5280997.20)
In order to have a consolidated view about the preferred ones, I created this poll (yes, I like stats :D )
Please select up to 3 card solutions you have good experience with, you can change the vote later, you can also suggest a new entry in the poll by writing here.

cheers

I'm not sure what would be the relevance of this pool.
In most of the countries there's available only a tiny subset of those cards (if any) and the subset is different from region to region.

What I mean is that it may have been more relevant to split the pool by main regions covered by card providers: US, Europe, APAC, Russia, ...

I know but I wanted it simpler, just vote your Binance card and we'll see for the rest :D

If people will vote here, I will probably vote too, but much later.  ;)

Absolutely. In addition to that it would be great if OP could sort the list alphabetically. Currently it's pretty hard to find all the different card providers in the list (at first I thought OP missed the Binance Card, which came out recently).

And are you sure that all the Card Issuer you mentioned in your poll are still in business? Didn't TenX recently shut down their service due the Wirecard insolvency? IMHO, it makes no sense to conduct a poll when half of the platforms aren't available in the voter's country or already shut down. It would be great if further differentiation could be made here.

If I'll sort it I'm afraid the so many votes done so far will be lost :D
CTRL+F can help in case you know your cards, isn't it?
If I would wanted to write a post for merits or paid signature campaigns I would have spent more time on it, this poll is just for info purposes for those beginners like me who don't know what's best to use. If one highly rated card won't be available for me, I would go for the next one(s).
I copied the list of providers from a list that is expected to be up-to-date (see OP), if one option is obsolete then it should get no votes as nobody is using it but I can consider deleting it.

This has nothing to do with merits or signature campaigns. In my opinion a good formatted list would just be way more helpful than a list that includes dead card providers and card providers that aren't available in various countries. The more information available to users, the better. If a user knows whether a certain provider is available in his country, he knows directly whether it is worthwhile to look into it further or not.

If a newbie has to go through all the listed card providers to check if the specific platform is available in his country (or even available at all), I am pretty sure he won't use the list.

Wirex is the most popular for persons living in Europe for its convenience and the fact that it is one of the oldest. At a time we didn't have much alternatives. Then follow Bitwala and Coinbase.
Since the Binance card is available it will surely change since it has already a huge member base

Nowadays people are looking for a card that also has a cashback feature and there isn't a lot of having it. Binance, Wirex, and 2-3 others. The drawback with Binance is you need to hold a certain amount of coins (edit: only if you want to get a higher cashback rate as corrected NeuroticFish below)

As for the other areas of the world, no idea. It's just based on my experience talking with EU people using a card

This is incorrect. You need those coins only if you want bigger cashback.
Binance gains now many users for the card in Europe because it has basically no fees.
Wirex is also advertising some sort of no-fees card/account, but from what I know they're not there yet, but it'll happen rather soon. And then there may be some competition.

hmm, not so many card owners here... how do you spend your coins? Via cash, Paypal and fiat cards?
