Title: When will the Ethereum Gas Fee go down?
Post by: Alert31 on February 08, 2021, 11:15:28 AM
It's so difficult to make a single transactions now under Ethereum blockchain. A very high gas fees are killing small investors and traders. But miners would love to see gas fees going to the moon because they benefited from it. However, this is not good for Ethereum in the long run, their users/consumers are suffering but their miners are enjoying this high gas fees.
Also, Ethereum competitors will surely grab this high gas fees opportunity. It's not good.
When will the Ethereum gas fee go down? Anyone knows?

Yes, that's why miners were preventing the implementation of ethereum improvement proposal 1599

This caused by miner can't earn the crazy fees again from the users

https://nairametrics.com/2021/02/07/miners-earn-a-whopping-3-5-million-per-hour-on-ethereum-network/

This time the tx fees are around $4 for ethereum tx and $8 - 10$ for the token transfer. Can you afford it? it's quite low right now dude. No one knows when the tx fees will decrease but it's likely the fees will sustain at this level until the implementation of EIP.

No one knows when the gas will decrease dude. Im also feeling bad to see that the gas price keep sustain. The defi platforms have been starting to get a lot of impact caused by the rising on ethereum gas fees.
I guess the miners like to see that happened forever lol
BSC already started to get more demand caused by people were moving to the BSC due to the high gas fees

Every hour the gas always changes with an estimated transaction of $5 - $10 so no one really knows when it will go down, but in my view, if the price of ETH is still soaring, gas will remain high so it is difficult for investors or small traders to make transactions with gas loading. This expensive, of course if we have a token there is no solution except waiting for the gas to go down. Moreover, if we swap at Uniswap some even say $50 more for one swap there is really very expensive.

No one will know when the price of Eth gas goes down, but considering the current market situation which is still bullish, especially the increase in Ethereum price itself which makes gas costs even higher. for a small trader like me can't do much to even send a small amount of tokens it costs $8 - $14 gas and it's very sad.

Ethereum is still in the process of addressing this problem. The ETH 2.0 package was believed to be bringing with it the solution to this problem. As of now, high fees is still a problem with Ethereum.

As others have already said, we are just awaiting for the implementation of EIP 1559. This is said to be the one final solution to the problem of Ethereum users regarding gas. I hope this will really do the trick.

Many opinions say that the high cost of Ethereum is due to the fact that the price of cryptocurrency has increased significantly. Whether this is true or not we do not know the truth, but it does concern the small number of ethereum owners as they have to bear a huge burden. So if Ethereum costs go down, it will certainly make Ethereum transactions stable and users will benefit

you are right, because now gas fees from Ethereum are very expensive and I don't think anyone knows when gas fees from Ethereum will be low, therefore I also take the opportunity from the current situation to mining Ethereum and I think mining Ethereum is very profitable for now, so you can also take the opportunity to get profit from mining Ethereum at this time.

None of us know when this madness will end. Even a small amount transaction now requires a fee of $8-9. It's too much for bounty hunters like me. If this continues one day ethereum blockchain will die. If the gas price is high, even if the minors gain temporarily, the end result will not be good. I would like to request the project owners to avoid ethereum blockchain for now.

gas fees from Ethereum will be low when only a few people use Ethereum blockchain, but I think it will be difficult to happen, because Ethereum blockchain is very popular and many people use it to make transaction, so I'm sure gas fees from Ethereum will remain high in the long run and I agree if mining is very profitable for now, but the capital to do mining is also very expensive, so not everyone can do mining including myself.

Currently Eth Gas fee is very high its not affordable for small trader when he will pay such a huge amount in Gas fee how can he save his/her profit by selling the coins its a big concern for those who hold ERC-20 coins at the moment. Yes, its not good for Ethereum in the long run otherwise most of the small traders or investors will shift to the Tron based chain on Dex based chain where fee is affordable. Even I also want to transfer my coins to sell but not doing transaction because of high gas fee because I am just a small trader and now waiting for Gas fee to be down.

That's really the current problem that ETH is facing but despite the existence of the high fees, it doesn't stop from pumping and making other investors profitable from the current situation. I start to see the other coins competing Ethereum are also being chosen by other new projects to work with because they don't think that the high fees is sustainable for their project because as you've said, small traders and investors are suffering from the current fees.

259 Gwei to have average speed of confirmation is bad and I agree with you that it killed small investors or traders
You can check Gwei cost with:
https://ethgasstation.info/index.php
https://www.gasnow.org/
https://ethgasstation.info/calculatorTxV.php
You can use lower Gwei: 150 for standard transaction (Gasnow.org) and you might (or not) need to cancel your transaction or replace it.

Not much actually. DeFi in 2020 caused fee on ERC20 was high, higher than now but you see Ethereum is rising more and more, has its all time high. Ethereum 2.0 can help to resolve this problem (I wish and also believe in).

I dont think the fees will go down, all people are trying to have a fast transaction in Ethereum to trade DeFi coin from Decentralized Exchange makes the blockchain so busy at this time.
At least we need a solution or we need to wait until the defi hype going down.

I can give you a clue but you can believe it or not, when you are wanna sending ERC or ethereum to the another address or exchange site and you must try to do that when the traffic from US become less.
Probably at the middle night of US time.
The majority of traders were coming from US and that makes the traffic is going so high at the day light.

The gwei will always decrease and i have been using it to determine which is the best time to send ERC or ethereum to the exchange site.
Yesterday the fees ever decreased to the 90 gwei. it's relatively small.

The situation with the commission on ETH is really alarming and makes the use of ETH and ERC20 tokens unprofitable for ordinary investors and users. A few days ago I watched a video in which one of the manners said that it is planned to increase the volume of the block, which may temporarily make the commissions lower, but after the commissions they will become large again. I don't know if this makes sense, but probably now we are seeing a very large number of transactions in the ETH network of large companies and funds, perhaps when they buy the required amount of crypto assets, the price of commissions on the ETH network will decline, but if so, then again nobody knows when this will happen.

that might just be what they are waiting for before they will allow that EIP1559. the high fee is preventing small gainers from dumping the tokens they hold because the amount to pay is half the amount they want to liquidate. its pathetically funny but its what they have to endure. i bought worth $50 ETH just so i can have something to pay for the transaction going to exchange but it was never enough.

for now, the price of bitcoin has gone up quite a bit, and this has caused the price of ethereum to go up as well. this causes so many transactions and the price of fees to be very high. At the moment, I don't know when the fee price will come back cheap, and I think this increase will continue to rise as bitcoin and ethereum prices rise.

It will but after eth 2.0 and sheild.
I don’t know why no one is taking step against eth fees. Its just ridiculously increasing.
But i think Something will happen which can balance the eth fee.
Eth's per second transaction amount should be increased in order to decrease the fee.

No one knows when the gas fee will go down, ethereum price still increasing so it would take long if we wait to go down the gas fee. And I agree this high gas are killing small investors and traders, it is really not the right time to move your ERC20 tokens in the exchange and also not good withdrawing your eth.

By the looks of it the price may not go down at all, it may actually keep going higher and higher during this period. I think until eip 1550 comes we are going to keep seeing higher prices. We have seen 12 bucks during late summer early September and we said that was way too much and it should go down and it did went down as much as under 1 dollars for a small period, but now we have seen double that 12 dollars number recently, and now it is around 15-17 dollars and people are still paying it that is the problem.

As long as there are people who keep paying those amounts the price will not go down, in order for price to go down we need to have people refusing to do business and stop paying that much amount, then there will be lower and lower numbers that gets passed, and as long as people keep refusing it will have to go down a lot in the end.

This incident is very troubling for small traders because the transaction costs are so high. and no one knows when this transaction fee will go down again. We all can only hope that in the near future the ethereum platform can return transaction fees to be cheaper than now.

Vitalik was no abandoned the idea but the implementation of EIP is not easy and there must be an agreement between all of the miners to update their client to support it and that's the problem. When the majority of miners declining it and the solution will never be implemented. Did you know bitcoin voting by a miner to implement segwit? it will be similar to that.

It has become a problem for an average investor to communicate with Ethereum network. Defi is not even encouraging as they use to be during their emergence, I hope they finally find solutions.
I was checking ether gas fee on Etherscan, seems like Elon musk has made it worse with their bitcoin purchased.

Ethereum transactions are very high + ethereum prices continue to rise, making gas fees go up too. But I heard an issue that eth 2.0 would reduce ethereum's gas fees, I don't know if that will happen because until now eth 2.0 has not yet been launched.

It's easy to say that mate but we never know what projects will succeed like Ethereum in the future, with thousands of altcoins in the market and probably 10% or less are legit, you'll taking a huge risk so you'll likely to fail or lose. Fees now are high not only for ETH but with other coins as well, I guess this network congestion is the main reason but we can't blame it since we all like to see this bull run, aren't we?

No clue about that but you can try to watch the traffic on etherscan and if there chart was showing less tx and there's a possibility for the gas to decrease. Some members have been suggesting the right answer for you dude. People can only follow when the traffic on ethereum network becomes less to send the coin with small gas fees.
When the bull is happening and you can't expect you can send your tokens with very low gas fees.

Right now the Ethereum market is currently into hype so we will still not be expecting for the gas fees to reduce in price but can expect more to get expensive while this hype is still up. Miners are the great beneficiaries at this times while we users who are tend to do transactions using Ethereum seems to suffer with that because imagine doing transaction where you are more likely thinking how expensive it would take you to do that transaction more than the amount you are trying to transact with. Actually no one really knows well when the gas fees will reduce but if this will continue to rise up, many users cannot keep up and will just wait until the price gets cheap to become affordable.

The gas fee will never go down, because the ethereum price is getting more expensive making Gwei's estimate very expensive too, I can't imagine what if the Ethereum price reaches $ 10k? haha it's terrible to see Gwei or the gas go up 10x too, somehow they take this, if ethereum doesn't do something with this, then a lot of users will turn to its competitors, like polkadot or binance.
something that continues to be a problem that cannot be resolved than ethereum, because what is done has an impact on other fees on the exchanger and this is starting to show, transaction costs are beyond reason and this will make people disrespectful and will look for alternatives like you say.

I have tried to do WD using XRP because obviously the cost is the cheapest for now, but hopefully XRP is not tempted to do the things that are done by almost all exchangers who continue to give fees every transaction is out of control, making it difficult for the bounty.

The people who hold their ETH right now are the ones winning this bull-run and those who have some altcoins that needed to be traded using the Ethereum Network, have suffered the sudden increase of the gas fee. I'm sorry to say that this kind of scenario will last long especially when the price of ETH is high and there are lots of people currently using the network for their activities. This is a lesson for us whenever we have some tokens in our wallet, we need to stack some ETH to be used for later transactions especially when the price is high like what we are experiencing now.

As you can see, this is not pleasing to watch:

Fees are the big matter for small movements and small investors or traders but Polkadot or Binance Smart Chain (BSC) won't surpass Ethereum simply because of fee. When fee on ERC20 is cheaper than on BTC network, did Ethereum has a price higher than bitcoin. It did not happen. Same will be for Polkadot and BSC.

Defi makes all of this an increase in Ethereum transactions. besides that, airdrop claims on Exchange dex also make an increase in transactions and also NFTs. There are many factors apart from the price of ethereum which are increasing
DeFi smart contracts are complex and they have bigger size, and bigger transaction fees. You can not know how complex their smart contracts are and you only know it when you fill in details and prepare to broadcast your transactions.

Avoid US early morning time can help you to enjoy cheaper transaction fee on ETH network.

If you ask when etherum transaction fees go down, maybe after ethereum 2.0 fully launched, for now it's impossible to see gas fee for transaction below 50 gwei, I think this problem happened after hype of DeFi tokens that make the ethereum network congested.
I still looking forward to see ethereum transaction fees below 10 gwei.

Ethereum gas charges should plummet at some point in the implementation of Ethereum 2.0 improvements, when scalability increases. However, this process, which began on December 1, is designed for two years. So far I have not come across a specific time frame for these events. Apparently, this cannot yet be foreseen in practice, since it will depend on many factors. Let's hope that Buterin understands the importance of speeding up this process.

Only one thing I think by reading this, ETH is not for small time traders and investors anymore considering how high the gas fees are now. But tbh, I dont think theres much change with this. The trading volume of ETH (https://trade.kucoin.com/ETH-BTC) is still doing good and I think thats because of DeFi's and ETH 2.0.

Fees are so crazy this, it is stopping most of us to transfer tokens for trade and also ETH itself. Altcoin holders are so much suffering now, they are holding for a long time waiting for this moment to come that the market price rising but it is very unfortunate that they can't still be sent their coins for a trade because of these unacceptable fees.
And for me, I'd rather have to hold than to do the sacrifice and just getting half the value. Still, we become a loser and these miners are only benefiting from this surge.

Yes, but I also believe that the problem of high fees on the ETH platform will also experience changes for the better in the future, because I see transaction fees on the ETH platform are never permanent.
Of course, not. But what we have now is really high and it not good for small investors, they are supposed to save fees but they have no choice.

We wanted the crypto market to have a better future but if that only cause fee goes high, I preferred not to see it anymore, much better to stay where we are in the past in which the fees are so small and acceptable to everyone. I'm afraid that it even grow higher as the market continues to increase, which only a few people could take the fees.

I have a lot of small amount of tokens that I want to trade but I will end up with no profit and will have to spend more than what I can trade, this is really not good if this continues the volume will go down, and only whales and big traders will trade, this is a golden opportunity for other platforms to challenge Ethereum, which has become annoying for traders there should be a fix sooner.

It is really painfull for small traders to big traders. It takes so many gas fees for a single transaction. Because Eth price is going  to high er and higher  and i'when it will stable may be gas price can be low . Even swap also taking high price for swap  .

This is really the right question. I wanted to buy TOSA tokens about which I saw in one telegram group, but my purchase for $ 300 of TOSA tokens cost me $ 500. $ 200 commission is awful!

Many members and airdrop hunters are falling into a similar situation when the costs for the conversion are too high compared to the profit they can receive after selling their tokens but even with more complaints about this, the ethereum team hasn't been able to provide a definitive solution yet, maybe other updates are only coming when they face the big competition as you say. Part of the problem of too high ethereum gas fees can also be attributed to too much FOMO, we want more profits from ethereum, we will have to accept higher costs, which is fair

Waiting ethereum gas fee go down we need when eth price dump under $700 again and get lower fee gas transaction, but if ethereum still up above $1,600 we have to get used with higher gas fees transaction, look very hard for us on bounty campaign hunter position because almost bounty coin reward as erc20 platform, we need much fees transaction if wanna sent coin to exchange market and always waiting at the morning to get little lower fee gas.

If eth price goes down again in under $600 then gas fees goes to down. But i don't think it can happing easly because btc and eth price up everyday. Basically higher gas fees a big problems for all small traders, hunter and airdrop rewards. I hope we should wait very long time for coming back lower gas fees.

This is right, eth gas fee will never go down or decrease not until those new projects will not going to be a erc20 base token. One basic reason why eth gas free is continuously increasing is because a lot of people are using it which is the reason why a lot of people are using it because most of the existing and new projects are related to eth or like I said erc20 base token.

It's  still  unclear when the gas price would  stabilise to facilitate  quick and easy transactions. Last year,  when the gas price began  to increase insanely,  I thought  the  main challenge  was  about  the craze for the DeFi projects  that congested  the Ethereum  blockchain  network.  The situation  seems not to be returning  to normal and it has greatly  affected  crypto  investors  with  small amounts.

When ETH 2.0 is implemented. Everybody is waiting for this, the gas fee presently is going out of hand, somehow more than bank charges which might be a great disadvantage if something is not gets done at earliest.

I think that this problem regarding the ethereum gas fee must be fix by the developers because it causes plenty of problem by the crypto enthusiasts. They must do all necessary way to fix it because if not many crypto enthusiasts will definitely shift to different blockchain that offers a much lesser gas fee such as polkadot and stellar ecosystems.

this is a dilemma where if Ethereum gas fee go down, miners are less interested because they get smaller from mining, but on the other hand this will attract many traders who will increase their transactions through ethereum because of the small gas costs

I don't know what would be the perfect answer for this because nobody knows when it will go down or worse, it will not go down anymore.

If you are transferring huge amounts in the ETH blockchain then the fees right now is just a small portion of the total amount you want to transfer. On the other hand, if you are just transferring just small amounts then fees will eat your whole money. You have 2 options, either wait for the perfect timing for the fees to go down (if it will happen) or stockpile all of your ERC20 tokens and withdraw/swap them at once.

Your decision still.

Ethereum can never be permanent with these transfer fees. Currently, many new investors have met the market. These investors use Ethereum in their first transactions.
Over time, this demand will decrease and people will trade on more beneficial platforms. Ethereum should do something about transfer fees before it gets too late  :-\

no one can be sure when the cost of Ethereum will go down, meanwhile the price of Ethereum itself is still very significant and the real usage or transactions on this platform are always increasing every day. for most holders of small amounts of erc20 tokens will be very depressed at these ridiculous eth transaction fees.

It's hard to say, for more than a year now, transactions on the Ethereum blockchain cost colossal money and this somehow does not really worry Ethereum developers, so for now we can only dream for the moment when the gas price will fall to minimum values, and of course I think that the gas price will fall when the deep correction of the entire cryptocurrency market will begin, so when the correction will begin, then the gas will most likely begin to fall to its minimum values.

Not just "somehow more", but greatly more than banks charge for transactions. Inner country transaction cost me nothing. Abroad transaction cost me 0.5 EUR for Sepa (slow and has no option to send a receiver any kind of confirmation I've made a transaction) or 20-30 EUR for a swift transaction. While Ethereum network offered me yesterday to pay 55 USD commission for a normal speed transaction.

This whole situation with fees seems has no solution. Everyone wants Ethereum price to be high, yet high price means high commission. If the commission is not reducing, that means people are ready to pay high commission. If they are ready to do it, why decrease...

I fully agree that rising gas charges have made many DeFi protocols virtually unusable in the future which could negatively impact the market price of Ethereum. Probably after the launch of EIP-1559 we will see a decrease in gas prices, but the exact launch date is not yet known.
I read that Vitalik Buterin supported this idea, but as I understand it, the miners themselves do not want this. I don't understand how this works, but clearly someone is preventing this from happening. https://twitter.com/VitalikButerin/status/1318387259482066945

It's between the traders, holders, and developers against miners, of course, miners will not like this because right now it's very profitable for them because all Ethereum users are paying them a high fee, the high fee cannot go on like this, we'll see the migration of developers from other chains, and this will be the sign that other platforms will emerge to give Ethereum a run for their money.

Also, Ethereum competitors will surely grab this high gas fees opportunity. It's not good.

I think the only solution is to leave Ethereum and find another smart contract platform that suits your needs this is not 2015 anymore there are many smart contract platforms that have offered the same services as Ethereum but not greedy as it was. Binance Smart Chain is a good candidate PolkaDot and many more. The smart contract services are not monopolized by Ethereum anymore. just choose if you want to pay huge transaction fees or find more friendly smart contract platforms the decision is yours.

Still not change with gas to lower fees because ethereum still on higher price above $1,700 but when ethereum have down there are any feature with gas down. Now the era seeing gas under 10 gwei have gone and you make or move transaction with bsc or binance fee where using bsc only take little fee for sending coins, I know looks not famous but when many people have move from ethereum with higher fees so bsc become best way as transaction coin

The Ethereum side will solve this, because if they don't care about this, everyone will run to another platform and as it is well known that there are so many users of the Ethereum platform, so if everyone runs away it will obviously have a bad effect on Ethereum itself.

i think this is the best time and opportunity for competitors to take advantage and also for wise developers to jump ship and try other network, it can not be eth erc20 all the time.

It can be soon to change and get back to the normal Gas fee as we usually pay before. But the sad thing is that we can't take the opportunity to sell our coins at a higher price. Disappointing but we can't push to it, only we have to do now is to wait.

Many people do not believe me but I think it is going to go down very soon, of course not to 1-2 dollar levels but interestingly to 10-15 dollar levels. I know that is still a lot but I have seen as high as 40 dollars today, so going from 40 dollars to 10-15 dollar levels is still a big drop and I think it is still something we should consider a lot.

Of course it is going to take some time before we could actually reach to 1-2 dollar levels ever again, probably not anytime soon, but going under 10 dollars is inevitable and will happen sooner. Reason why I think this is the fact that we increased during this huge bull run, and everyone wanted to take part in it, and this caused people to spend whatever needed just to get involved. Eventually this bull run has to slow down, or maybe take a break, even if it continues to go up later on it has to give a break for a while, at that point fee's will certainly drop.

Right now one of the blockchain i avoid doing transactions on is the Ethereum blockchain, the fees are just too high for an average investor to pay per transaction, over $105 for just one transaction that's too much Tbh, nowadays I normally make transactions using TRX, so if you can't afford the high gas fees like me just exchange your eth to trx and make your transaction.

When will the Ethereum gas fee go down? Anyone knows?
I don't really know when the gas fees will go down, cause the price of Eth is still high and it's seems large investors don't care about it the high gas fees, everyone is coping with the new situation of paying high gas fees for each transaction, maybe the only time this gas fees will go down is when the price of Eth goes down, for now each TX is you will need $10+ eth to cover the fees.

Bad thing as bounty campaign hunter almost coin using erc platform as reward and many ICO still believe with ERC20 platform coin, now we need more than 10$ for sending coin to market but very crazy if you got coin listed on UNISWAP you need more than 100$ more each transaction there, from swap approved and later for selling coin, how long gas higher fees without any good moment when ethereum down to make gas down.

that's something new. someone has to verify this one please. it should work to any tokens.

the problem is that i still can't try it since i don't have weth either. i have tokens i wanted to swap on uni and 1inch the fee is up to $83 of ETH which is just too much. all of the transactions today on ETH is just a reason to get out off their back and find a platform that will just asks small fix amount. the miners are the only that gets rich here.

The transaction for ethereum will go down when ETH 2.0 rolled over completely until that users will be facing issues with the transaction of ethereum and token (always) especially at the time of bull run. Why you don't consider other blockchains if you want to become a day trader or else just hold the coins in the exchange itself or simply convert into other coin which is having cheap fee like LTC,DOGE.

There is nothing wrong with Ethereum. You should see the current conditions where transactions on the ethereum Network are quite dense. The number of people doing transactions in Trades like Uniswap today. this is a natural thing. plus the increase in ethereum makes estimations also increase. I myself postpone sending my coins now because I will be a lot of fees. The fee that I have to pay is even 20% of the token value to be sent

Well, that is arguable;) There were a lot of things wrong with Ethereum from the beginning (DAO?) but eventually they have turned their fortunes around so even critics like myself we were finally convinced,,, but still I"m sure the co-founder himself would admit ETH 2.0 was there to fix as many problems as possible! So for sure, something is wrong with Ethereum:)

What is certain is that apart from the fact that the price of ethereum is currently rising. the factor that made the Fee go up now was the density of transactions on the Ethereum network. if we see today So many people are trading on the Exchange Dex. the effect of high Airdrop since last year has made transactions crowded and has an impact on the Fee which is currently increasing quite high.

Previously, when the cost of ether was $ 300, I never asked such questions, but the complexity was not so high. Today, the main difficulty that falls on the network is swap applications. I think they are adding complexity. As soon as the interest in them decreases, the commission will return to the previous values.

In order to be able to pay a lot of fees, as much as 30-50 dollars and even more for the fees you need to be a whale, nobody with small amount of money will be neither capable of spending it nor would be willing to spend it this much. That is why I think it is obvious that we are in a whale situation where every one of them are here and they are increasing the price as well.

When whales are in, they have a lot more money than regular folks like me, which doesn't only make the fee's higher because they can pay it, that is just one part of it, this also increase the price of ethereum because they end up buying more ethereum as well, they have a lot of money so when they buy it goes up obviously. That is just what I am guessing at least because whales are evidently around.

Honestly i don't know when the ETH gas fee go down because there are many platforms using high gas fee in the network.
As long as they still using high amount of gas fee, the others will have to follow to using high gas fee too.
Maybe small traders better to using other blockchain than Ethereum so they won't lose too much funds from the gas fee.
You can see gas how much you pay when make transaction, with using myetherwallet they will recommended fast gas transaction and you can use lower gas as transaction but have risk when your transaction failed you loss your eth, last week I need $7 for sending coin but using lower fees transaction and take time about 20 minutes to be success, we are bounty hunter still hope eth gas could down because almost bounty coin still use erc20 platform coin.

Those platforms were not causing the problem in ethereum chain but I see that there are some addresses that is used to spam the network with very high gas fees. Idk whether that's a trick that used by the ethereum's competitor to make people move to another chain but you can also watch it on etherscan because the address is very active sending zero transaction with high gas fees.
The small traders are not able using ethereum chain again. they have been moving to the BSC.

Correct!!! But buterin should do something into this gas fees since its too much to be honest.

It gonna go down when sharding implemented this layer 1 gonna increase the transactions per second like very significantly but we're still long way to go.
Honestly ETH gas fee won't go down maybe in few months forward because the price of ETH also affect the fee a lot.
If we expect the gas fee to go down significantly that also means we expect the price to go down. Otherwise with the existence of dapps and many that add demand to the blockchain it will hardly go down.

When ethereum raise to higher price gas will allow up but first time gas up when DeFi project coming and many trader sell and buy coin on Uniswap, this the first time make eth gas have higher price and now we make many tansaction using higher gas fees. But now we see many trader is not care how much fees payment when selling or swap coin on Uniswap.

Dapp, DeFi and other projects linked with ethereum had jam-packed the network thus prompting the surge in the price of the transaction gas, the only way out or way forward is to incorporate the improved ethereum into the network however miners will continue to ride on the with the present high fees to earn huge profits to the detriment of teeming users of eth who have to paid exorbitant gas fees.
Personally I don't expect the fee to go down bearing in mind that we are in a bullish market.

As long as Uniswap and other popular decentralized exchange are used daily for trading, gas war will never seize to end. The traders are always fighting over initial decentralized offering and how to get tokens of a particular project by using high gas fee and bots in other to chance one another. Once this transaction dominate the entire blockchain, there is no way than the network to adjust to gas fee and this result into gas war between common traders and whales.
This is why ethereum network is becoming tiring for common retail traders and I dislike this movement because I don't know when it will end.

While DeFi continue to become more and more popular and new people join the sphere, I don`t wthink we will see small fees. Unfortunately, only a huge people outflow or ethereum 2.0 can help us. The first one can happen because of the big market fall (it`s more probable)or huge ethereum problems. ETh 2.0 will be deployed in some years, so all we can to do now is  just to wait and use all lifehacks like (txs are cheaper at night etc)

That's right, and there will be no way to reduce the cost of Gas which is currently expensive unless someone wants to move to another platform that costs less than the one on the Ethereum platform.
If this is true, what if the higher ethereum price means the fee price will be higher? If this is true, it seems that in the future Ethereum fees will be increasingly expensive. because the Ethereum price prediction will be higher in the future

this question is difficult to answer. however, we need to wait for transactions to become less congested just yet. it's just that, currently many are waiting for cheap fees to make transactions, and this also makes transactions more solid. Honestly, right now I also want to make a transaction, but it's very difficult to do that because of the high fee. I even lost 0.0044 eth due to reducing gwei and making my transaction fail. because of this, I kept waiting for the fee to become cheap.

We will continue to see many complaint about unfair transaction fee at this time. We have to pay a lot to the miner and because of that they are probably the biggest beneficiaries right now due to the increased fee.

Since Uniswap has become a preferred exchange target by the DeFi and ethereum communities, since then the fee of gas has been seen to be very high. In my opinion, Uniswap is one of the factor causing the increase in transaction fee at this time. They are ranked first today with the highest gas consumption. We never know when these fee will drop, but I hope ethereum developer can do something good to bring down the current transaction fee.

Due to the high price of Ethereum, the gas price is also very high. But small traders shift to other blockchain because of Ethereum fees. A small transaction takes upto 10-20$. So, it is very difficult for a small investor to pay this high fees on every transaction.
But Ethereum fees varies time to time. Sometime gas fees is very high and sometimes it is low. So, observe it when the gas fees is low then make a transaction

bro, nobody knows when the Ethereum gas costs will go down. As we have seen in the last week to date, the price of ETH is still significant around $1800. So I don't think gas costs will go down any time soon, On the other hand, when Ethereum prices go down maybe gas costs will also go down. .

This is true.  Uniswap is one of the biggest contributors to making ETH fees high. Defi trend makes the Ethereum network go overload with transactions that caused congestions to the network that results in high transaction fees/gas but we can't blame them because we all share the same network. It's just sad that some people are cheaping out gas fees and ending up having failed transaction that makes them spend more.

Let's wait for ETH 2.0!

I've recently sold one of my tokens and I had gas upto 12 dollars just to sell and bring back the money to my wallet. It's really frustrating but I guess it's a win win situation. The thing is I have earned money for almost a dead coin, and I am also a miner of ethereum so it's okay I guess just for now.

Honestly I have chewed on this too and wondered who are those still buying ETH and making its value climb despite the extortion going on there in the name of gas fee. It's crazy and that's making little transactions impractical to be carried out. I think projects should begin to divert to Waves or the Binance chain. Miners at ETH are beginning to act larger than life with their monetary preoccupation. The earlier the better to save small projects because no one knows when this extortion will stop. I have a few thousands of a token I want to swap on Metamask but the gas fee  is higher than the entire quantity I want to swap. It's such a pity.

The ETH gas fees right now makes me think twice about trying to use any DEX, the fees are something else and instead of the fees to start dropping it keeps going up, just wondering if it's going to remain this way till the bull run ends which I can't say when because bitcoin is still pumping massively same thing as Ethereum and it keep making new ATH highs almost every week, maybe we might just have get used to paying this high gas fees, it's a shame paying $50+ for just one transaction even the traditional bank can't charge that high.

You are lucky you can do that, I have altcoins in my Ethereum wallet, and even if I want to trade it I need to deposit Ethereum to that address and send the altcoins to trade on the exchange, I need to spend Ethereum fees on two occasions and that means incurring over $15 to $25 in fees alone, what if it's just a small amount of altcoins.

No one know and no one can predict. Because cost gas fee is affected by price of ethereum, which has risen greatly.
It doesn't matter to me that transaction costs go up high, because it's a natural thing when ethereum price go up so automatically fees will also go up.
But many say this is all because ethereum released version 2.0, it really isn't. Look back at the end 2017 when ethereum went up in price and fees went up too

If you want to withdraw something at a lower cost, then you can use Tron or the TRC20 platform which can support the same token as USDT, because through Tron the costs are very cheap and easy for you to use too.
because the withdrawal fees on the ethereum network are still not stable. We can indeed use it as a solution to make withdrawals. or it could be to Dogecoin which I think the withdrawal fees are still very friendly compared to other networks.

many complain about the cost. especially those who saw the tokens or coins they earned for a small amount from a bounty campaign. most of the current bounty tokens are also experiencing a pump but not much can be done due to transaction fees which do not allow smallholders to sell them despite the high token price increase.

Maybe once the eth team fully launched the phase 1 of eth 2.0, that's when we will see the effect of the second version. A lot of crypto users are complaining about high gas fees and I don't think the eth team is sleeping on this problem. I myself am now also waiting for gas costs to come down. already calculating the cost that I spend to sell tokens in the wallet spent at least 30-40 $ to swap on Dex trading. of course this is a price that is quite expensive for one delivery. I hope transactions on the ethereum network can return to normal. although currently the presence of the ethereum price hike factor also makes the fee estimate higher in USD

Maybe it can only be done for you yourself, not for anyone else, because not everyone has the same ability at this point because considering Gas charges are still unstable on the Ethereum network.
if he wants to deal in large amounts I think he can handle that. but for those who want to sell tokens with a value that is not that large or relatively small that they get from the campaign, of course, it will be difficult. even the value obtained is sometimes less than the cost of selling it.

I'm feeling dumb because of the gas price. The gas fees are affecting the average investor right now, but the main concern is that when it goes down? It's unstoppable, right now regular gas fees are between $12~$15 Dollar that leave us no choice but let alone our tokens in the wallet. We only expect some stability in the market.
I have try now looks lower gas fees transaction with lower speed need about 7$ until 10$ but you need waiting longer time, other side you have lower cost when using low transaction speed because you only pay gas fees about $7, but you can use FTX exchange to buy ethereum because there without fees for sending, I have use it looks most cheap than have buy from other exchange.

At this moment it's kind of impossible. The market is in high position and now most of Dex are in high use. So the transaction are limitless now so the transaction fees are too much. Plus ethereum price is also very high. You have to wait till ethereum 2.0 to see some improvement in gas fees and transaction speed. Let's see when it comes.

completely concur with that rising gas charges have made numerous DeFi conventions practically unusable later on which could contrarily affect the market cost of Ethereum. Presumably after the dispatch of EIP-1559 we will see a reduction in gas costs, yet the specific dispatch date isn't yet known.

I heared developers are working to decrease gas fees faster as possible since some time ago already, but so far nothing has happened. Eth 2.0 is a big promise, but when is it really going to be implemented?
Huge fees are killing the network and also the crypto gaming industry which runs in eth protocol. It's impossible to trade goods in games because the fees are much higher than the good's price itself, making the whole process totally useless. Sadly many people that could be trading and moving money on the network are just idle waiting for the gas decreasement.

This is up to the developers, there is no chance for EIP 1559 to be implemented when miners like it. ETH20 is said to make fees lower but its not pushing thru yet. Paying $25 per transaction while sending only $200 is too much to bear. The only who are enjoying the bull run are the ones who can afford to use the swapping DEFI projects, I'd have to start using dapps on EOS for free transactions, this at least will free me from ETH.

Exactly, i also think small investors & bounty hunters are the ones who suffer the higher cost Ethereum Network fees. They have keep patience when fees will less. I have 80$ worth of token in my wallet but it’s only listed one exchange UniSwap, and i need to 50$ fees to sell this token. Small tokens holders can't move their tokens due to unexpected gas fees.

Lots of effort is put to replace ethereum and conquer the challenges of high gas fee, though some believe is also important for price movement in the bull market. BSC price reactions was as a result coming on swap of blockchain by many projects to overcome this challenge, same as Polkadots, Solana and many more but the adoption is very slow and may take beyond this market/year to see their success or rather compete with ethereum.

Maybe soon maybe nevermaybe try a new blockchain  :D, no one can tell when this crazy gas fees war will end, but Tbh it doesn't look good for Ethereum Network cause it will definitely get to a point when users will get tired of it and move to a blockchain that is faster with zero or no fees needed to perform any transaction, it seems eth now is for the rich people alone, small investors like us can't afford to pay those high gas fees.

Who is this joker or a person that lives in 2018 ? List time I saw fees under 10 gwei was the time when ICOs were popular. This looks like another lame excuse not to distribute rewards. Fees will never be under 10 gwei. Bounty manager or project should have said in the very beginning that they will wait for such low fees before they distribute rewards.

P.S. Is this token traded anywhere? If it has a high price, try to offer to cover gas fees by yourself.

It will happen sooner or later. That exactly when the ETH will drop but until such a time that it is still in the highs, can never expect to drop as we usually paying before the Bullrun. We feel mad and disappointed but we can never change it. What we gonna do now is to wait or converted it to XRP to save some fees. Some traders doing this and I am doing it as well.

Anyway, if we are not really in need of the money, better not to do the transfer now. I was holding then, I believe this situation will get over, just be patient.

doubt it's gonna be 6-7 months forward, the team behind eth promised its gonna resolve in july but there's always the possibility of it being delayed I know. However, after the market correction it seems the eth fee has been decreasing maybe temporarily since we could hit another bullrun but right now is maybe if not the best is the second best time to send transaction since it's not some ridiculous 300 gwei per gas fee but just 100.

I know this feels mate. Even me myself, I’m just sick and tired of these terrible gas fees of Ethereum. Especially when the network is freaking congested, it’s really awkward to pay high gas fees in double or triple digits. Worse if we are going to use Uniswap either for swapping or adding or removing liquidity. I can see that there would be a decline in the number of users and projects running on Ethereum.

And because solution 2 will take a very long time, we have to hope for solution 1.
It's a very sad situation.  :-\
Forget about the solution and you will never see that happen.

The biggest mining pool opposes EIP 1559. that brings a very high probability for EIP 1559 will be rejected by the miners. We know that if that mining pool has the biggest hashrate in the network.

As long as ethereum still has a very high price, it is highly unlikely that gas fees will be cheap, while in this month it seems that ethereum will continue to grow and it may be that gas fees will continue to be expensive. Gas fees will go down if Vitalik and the team do something new on their blockchain

For now, the cost of ethereum gas is indeed very high so we are very burdened when making transactions, and now the dramatic decline in the price of ethereum has occurred and I believe the price of gas has also decreased, because the high price of gas has a very influential effect on the value of ethereum, especially last year the price was very high so that gas costs also increased, and the team also had to make changes to the blockchain network so that we would be comfortable again in making transactions without having to  incurring large costs.

I'm really still interested in knowing why we're still having a problem of high gas fee till now. It's been a while since we heard the ethereum 2.0 would be on board, but it seems to be taking too long to be completed. I really do hope that something is done about this issue of high transaction fee.

When the price of ethereum starts to fall, the gas costs that we spend later will also decrease, last year the value of ethereum was very high so that the transaction costs we spent were also very large so that many investors switched to using other networks, and in this month the value of ethereum has dropped drastically and the gas costs we spend later will definitely be cheaper, and this also has to be involved in the project because they are the ones who can do all that.

Ethereum gas now already dropped. Today Ethereum Gwei only 18. which is charges only $0.30 for the ETH transfer and $0.8-0.9 for erc20 based token transfer. Which is comparatively much lower now. If the ethereum gas fee is like this then everyone can use the ethereum services very easily.

still difficult to predict, especially the price of etherum is still above $ 1000. For large investors or project managers, the current gas fee may be very high, it doesn't really matter if the total assets owned still generate large profits. but for small investors or small traders, with the gas fee which is currently still high, it will be difficult for them to even pay the gas fee.

for bounty hunters or airdrop finders, it will also be difficult if they have 0 ETH in their wallet and when they get the distribution of tokens that have been converted to etherum, while to pay the fee, they don't have enough assets so it is very burdensome.

(as a crazy prediction, if etherum drops to a price below $100, maybe the gas fee will go down too)

its good news for eth community especially for project developer which is want to use eth platflorm. Other smart contract also have problem with network , even solana network twice halted. Soon we will see alot new project build under eth platform , and hopefully most of them as potential project.

The red market makes Ethereum transaction volume increase significantly, I used to send tokens with a fee of less than $3 but have sent tokens costing more than $5 for a few days, the problem of expensive transaction fees from ethereum makes many developers and users switch to other networks such as BSC or MATIC.
