Title: Richest Man in Mexico Updates his Twitter Bio to Include Bitcoin
Post by: Walterhank on February 09, 2021, 07:02:59 AM
"The third wealthiest man in Mexico, Ricardo Salinas Pliego, has updated his Twitter biography to include Bitcoin. This move has picked up a trend among high ranking investors in the cryptocurrency, including BTC whales such as Michael Saylor and  Anthony Scaramucci."

Who do you think will be following in their footsteps? Will these steps promote mass adoption? Your thought?!

Will these steps promote mass adoption?

This recent trend of top world billionaires and CEO's of top conglomerate including #bitcoin in their twitter bio will really do a lot of good and go a long way to promote acceptance and adoption first among their closest friends, family, those who see them as business and investment mentors and also those that see them as competition.
This update further serves to say that these business giants and visionaries believe in the future of btc. It sends a strong statement to those still sitting on the fence and the critics  - "IF THESE BILLIONAIRES ARE BITCOIN BELIEVERS, WHO AM I NOT TO BELIEVE" .

And I strongly believe that others would be following suit following Elon Musk, Mark Cuban and the richest guy in Mexico getting themselves involved in Bitcoin and the rest of the crypto space. Maybe these influential people should tell their followers to change their bio to Bitcoin as well. It would be bullish for sure!

That's good :)
Could we finally see a global integration of bitcoin as an alternative to FIAT with such move? Adoption is still limited until now but progressing tho. I hope to see some pressure on Mastercard to end its hostility towards bitcoin, like that it will make things even faster.

Or they could be an old whale in cryptospace decided to show themselves up to build a mind blowing Btc pump because they already bagged huge amount of Btc. This could go on as much as Btc reached $100,000 mark. A lot of money has been poured in Bitcoin since late of 2020 up until to this very moment. Institutional investors fueled Btc to break the 2017 ATH, and now Billionaires are hyping them up. I guess Btc won't be looking back to its worst figure again.

Trying to join the party, hopefully he will be profitable, there are lots of whales but not all of them are profitable because they still battle against each other.  I guess this kind of news will only make the market more bullish, but I'll be more careful with it as we don't know how big the correction is.

To the moon! yes we are already at the moon now... :D

All the big whales are beginning to identify with bitcoin and I know this recent uptrend in the price of bitcoin is connected to the fact that people and institutions are beginning to have trust and confidence in bitcoin as the second to none investment.

Except Warren Buffet that still thinks that cryptocurrency has no value  ;D This "Richest Man in Mexico" is just a copycat of Elon Musk. Ok, he added a bitcoin in his bio. Now what? If he is a real man, he must invest $1.5 billions in Bitcoin right now.

I'm not the richest man of any country, but can add a bitcoin hashtag in twitter also. Big deal. His intention was to pump his ELEKTRA.MX stock price, like Tesla did. But that did not happen (https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/ELEKTRA.MX/?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAF7MilXszUKdA9rHausXS55Kaln_e754Oo-SMP4DDwCCPxpqLWZMp4W5Fz-YUD-q24ahnLkr4vhADnBiW-f4GT--7kW1oYcHpc46_dYw6yHZKdcIkwOQmliRkdGeUMovRB5uoiv22AJO4jWqbzaYsHf2xO_cyXfoTJusYbu0nS2M). Conclusion - If you want to easily increase your stock price - come up with something new and dont copy other. My idea was not doubting that he is or not rich, but to prove that he is the same cool guy as Musk, that had spend $1.5 billion on Bitcoin. Otherwise it is cheap show-off, using same hashtag as Musk, but when it comes to real action, he has no guts. If you play big - play big, otherwise dont embarrass yourself.

Their followers of course, These are influential people and very experienced when in comes to investing some people believe on what they do. It’s still very risky if ordinary people to buy what they shill, its always important to study everything even if its a reliable investment.

Billionaire’s as influencers could attract more adopters most specially if they had large audience or community. If more people like them do the same way, Bitcoin will become a common street talk.

Get used to seeing headlines in the media about uber rich people piling into bitcoin. These guys aren’t stupid, traditional investments, fiat currencies etc are going to shit. We’re about the enter the greatest depression known to man. These guys know they have to put their money somewhere safe & that isn’t in fiat atm.

not sure about it but it seems like 2021 is the FOMO for rich people and high institutions  ;D
it's good for us as older bitcoin enthusiasts and supporters.
I bet you guys all "feel safe", because we are now backed up by big players with a big name, a really well known big name.
naturally, rich people are smaller people's benchmark. They are trying to follow the paths.
So, yes, it can push the adoption. Not really significant in numbers, but still it will affects well.

Such steps that's being done by an influential person is always helpful for the bitcoin community. As long as it's showing the positive outlook of bitcoin then that's surely will help the mass adoption to come.
It's helping to let others know what they think about bitcoin.

Its far away from mass adoption but that's a huge other topic.

Also note that those people have huge self interest. And they don't understand bitcoin at all. And certainly not technical.

People like Michael Saylor are sitting in interviews talking non sense about bitcoin and the ceo of the biggest crypto exchange worldwide agrees and nodding on every sentence he says. Just because he invested a huge sum.  ::)

No one questions...

You are quite right, such a thing like - a famous person is rich and successful, he shares openly to the whole world that everything is ok and this coin is checked on his own experience, and how enticing it is you know. Psychologicaly people compare themselves with the successful ones and understand that this thing is trustworthy. Somehow directly or indirectly it makes a great impact on mass adoption and acceptance. And it is not only with Bitcoin, with brands of clothes or gadgets, or a lifestyle. It is a good trend for Bitcoin))

Well this is the trend really, those rich billionaires are going into bitcoin because they know they can make more money, simply as that. They look at it as more of an investment instrument, so I would say welcoming news just like Elon Musk's enormous $1.5 billion investment.

We don't know who are going to follow in their footsteps, maybe majority of them are already in the bitcoin ecosystem since 2018's bear market.

Billionaires are now up to pump Bitcoin.  After the Gamestop, I think its really going to make rich guys try to move into Bitcoin because there is more money to gain. They try the Doge and they will keep coming out. Good for Salinas. There were people we didn't know they were actually Bitcoin early adoptor like Salinas, he isn't new to Bitcoin since he had also invested in BTC since 2013.

Is anyone also excited to see whether Warren Buffet admits to investing in BTC and also add BTC to his twitter Bio?

It is really irritating to see this old fart mentioned around here so often. No one cares about Warren Buffet, and his time's up. He made some decent investments during 1980s and 1990s and that is it. He is not compatible with the 21st century. The old grumpy man has an aversion to new technology, which was out in the open after his outburst against cryptocurrency. He needs to be ignored and forgotten. Tell me a single achievement from this guy during the last two decades. And I don't know why the users here give so much importance to him.

We are doing a great disservice to the cryptocurrency sector, by providing publicity to those who are hostile to Bitcoin such as Buffet.

This is a good one! If he invested enough, if he decided to risk a bit more of his wealth, I can bet he is first now, but only if he did it like that... If he bought just a little portion than I doubt he is first, and I am sure he is regretting he didn't invest more!

Anyway good trend for all of us... now we can just think where will be the top of this rise, how high they can push the price!?

They maybe trying to pump Bitcoin. For those who are having huge Bitcoin holdings, increased exchange rates mean more profits. Elon has clarified that he doesn't own any significant amount of BTC, but that is not the case with Ricardo Salinas Pliego. He will benefit, in case the Bitcoin prices go up. The same goes for us, cryptocurrency users as well. We all benefit when the prices go up.

Well, I believe it can influence because those people are very rich a Multi-Billionaires like Elon Musk Ricardo Salinas Pliego is also a Billionaire that's why many people know them because they are super rich I'm sure many are trying to copy their strategy on how to become a Billionaire and every important detail regarding investment from them will be surely picked by the people who knows them. Just my opinion.

He’s a wealthy man and he’s definitely an influencer, so for sure there will be people who will follow his footsteps to start investing in Bitcoin because he mentioned. That’s going to help in the adoption.

The more there are influencers and celebrities that are steady talking about crypto and promoting it to their followers, there will be lots of people who will be picking interest and investing their money and that’s how adoption works, it doesn’t come out of no way, you first have to see someone talk about it and then you will start developing interest.

Obviously, the value of bitcoin will definitely reach up to 50 thousand dollars, and if we take into account such PR, then we can confidently assume that if famous personalities and institutional investors continue to talk about bitcoin and invest their funds in it, then the value of bitcoin will reach 100 thousand dollars already this year.

The free publicity is good and all but I'm kinda not biying the fact that a lot of corporations, and basically wealthy and influential personalities who are buying bitcoin and crypto now. Sure it is good for the economy of bitcoin and promotes adoption and acceptance pf the public, but the more people whaling on bitcoins the less power us small-time investors will have over them. In the end, capitalism will take over once again.

I think they are in crypto already since the last Bullrun, they just come out because Elon Musk triggered for them to publicize their names. TBH, they are not familiar to me, maybe I've heard their names before in the news.

Social media is now a medium of success and huge adoption of crypto. They are now used for more market exposure and advertisement.

The trend now is tweet about bitcoin and expect a rally, Elon Musk is doing it successfully and the market is responding to all of his tweets but what about the influence power of the richest man in Mexico, the market went down today may be because of the power of the tweet :D .
It all good now that the whales are creating a different type of hype in the market using the power of social because there was once a moment where nothing of the mogul and celebrities will publicly make an announcement about cryptocurrency.
Having said that, the reason why Elon is doing the hype successful is because of his new rank in the world and a lot of people will want to earn through his knowledge/statement.

This is mass adoption. Billionaires, institutions, companies are a part of the mass too. We are witnessing the beginning of the official adoption phase, and after that, maybe years later, Bitcoin will be an established asset just like precious metal, and more of the general population will invest in it, because even now a lot of people only view it as a risky speculative investment.

Mass adoption for payments is not possible until Lightning Network is ready and price is stable.

Elon Musk alone really contribute to a cryptocurrency adoption not only bitcoin.

He advertise many cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin, doge coin, and etc. Many people are updated on his twitter account because he is tweeting a lot of statements about the market.

These influential people are the key for greatly contribution on mass adoption that we are seeing in crypto world right now. Also Twitter is a good platform to use in social media to say to the world the happenings in the crypto market, especially that there are also a lot of investors who are staying at twitter to become updated in the market.

Good comments often pass unnoticed, and this is a nice comment! I didn't know about Bannon and his interest in crypto, by this article he has some big plans for the future! Strong words, like in the article: "Bannon has done his homework"! He knows what Bitcoin is for, and he knows that revolution is coming.
I understand why Steve’s conception of Bitcoin "should" be the most respected by the community. There's a big point in his word, I can't say I expected to see something like this from a politician.

Advertising for his personal interest does not contribute at all, the action here that gives contribution was when they announce that they will start accepting bitcoin, or the Tesla company will start accepting bitcoin. If that will happen, then we can call this as a real adoption, it will start at the top then slowly it will go down to small businesses and Elon if he will not only "shill" would really make a big contribution here.

This is the best PR for them, they are supporting bitcoin because there are people out there that doesn't know about their company yet and they know that bitcoin users hate centralized financial institutions so they have to get in on the PR hype train to make them and their company more appealing to the bitcoin users. I wouldn't say rank but Elon was crowned the richest man in the world recently so his name is still a fresh thing for many people.

Rank or crown it the same thing but if you check the forbes list of the world richest man alive you'll that they usually use the world rank not crown cause the slot he's holding now can be defeat by another mogul.

Its not 100% proven that wealthy people are advertising their Bitcoin position to advertise
their companies. You can be sure there are a lot of wealthy people who are moving
into Bitcoin but keeping it out of the public arena.

If I where to be and investor, -regardless of my wealth- and I invested in something and sooner than I thought my profit from it clearly told on my net worth, I think I would add that business or thing to my bio on every social media I choose to expose my sort of business, and it's a billionaire trend to front their business success, and tell the world how successful they can be on some business they invest in.

I believe that by placing #bitcoin in his bio, the Mexican businessman Ricardo Salinas Pliego is responding to the community that he also belongs to it and is convincing 100% of his support. All these investors have to bet on the success of bitcoin and they know that bitcoin belongs to the community.

Another important announcement was the one that made plan b on Twitter.

Quote
BREAKING ... I quit my job (PlanA) and start focusing on #bitcoin (PlanB) full time as of March 1st! 😎
 https://twitter.com/100trillionUSD/status/1358820031497445379?s=19 (https://twitter.com/100trillionUSD/status/1358820031497445379?s=19)

With that we can realize that there is a great responsibility to bring bitcoin to the largest possible public and safeguard it as a treasure.

Those people who are rich and famous influence the society because there is a lot effects happens happen to the bitcoin of them the result is good because we earn money of the increasing of the bitcoin, for sure they have followers will buy more bitcoin because he tweet aboit bitcoin like what Elon Musk did last few weeks ago and the whole world now are watching to the price of the bitcoin if the price is rising and the movement is good so far and I hope it will longer because we have ooportunity to earn money in this seasons.

Before Michael Saylor, Elon Musk, and the Mexican, it was Steve Bannon.

It wasn’t as hyped as Saylor and Elon, but I believe Steve’s conception of Bitcoin would be the most respected by the community.

https://www.investopedia.com/news/steve-bannon-buying-bitcoin/

Quote

Bannon refers to bitcoin as “disruptive populism”. “It takes control back from central authorities. “It’s revolutionary,” he says. He also rails against central banks who “debase your currency” and refers to US citizens as “slaves to debt.”

"Cryptocurrency entrepreneurs are “visionaries”, according to him. "

I believe that that comment went unnoticed because he was a Republican and a big Trump supporter at that. Haha.

Michael Saylor’s comments on Twitter sounds like he gave his password to a toxic Bitcoin maximalist, and let him/her make all the tweets.

Elon Musk’s tweets reads like a shitposting-troll. 8)

I guess we're all crazy about bitcoin now, especially these riches trying to get more richer.
That's how rich people gets rich even more by taking opportunities specially when investing. Bitcoin gives us opportunity to make our own wealth by using his features and using it as our digital currency.

That is a good move for the crypto community, it started with the effect of post halving, followed by Elon Musk who used the hashtag bitcoin on his profile that also makes the bitcoin's value rise, followed again by TESLA company to buy $1.5 billion worth of bitcoin and now the richest man in Mexico who includes bitcoin on his biography, the 10% of his portfolio is on bitcoin, even though that is only 10%, that is still a huge amount of money being the richest man in Mexico, it seems like this would be the start of mass adoption, wen though we haven't seen it yet, there is still progress.

They love to make more money and every time they spotted an opportunity, their greedy instinct comes out.

This richest man in Mexico seeing how crypto could give them millions if they will invest. Have updated his Twitter Bio and include Bitcoin? But the question is, how it affects the market, not seeing there is because most people are now mentioning the name Elon Musk, not this Mexican Billionaire (or whatever it is).

This is to determine that Elon has the power to influence the market more than the others. I know that there are a lot of known personalities are in crypto now but they are just quiet.

A lot of them will follow suit and he will not be the last on the growing list of billionaires already invested in bitcoin. Getting in on the train earlier than other people gives you an edge especially in price. It's a good move from the Mexican head honcho and I know he had been reading and consuming materials related to bitcoin before he finally give the go signal to invest on the crypto.

We dont even know that there are already some billionaires had already invested out on Bitcoin and just decide to keep their mouth shut  at the  moment.
To talks about if this one is good then anything that do connects out with buying then it does simply means recognition and that recognition does really means
bullish. It might not affect the market on big movements but at least the awareness do increases as the time flies by.
We cant just expect that everyone would really know in a short span of time.

Musk started something big here.

Everybody knows that rich people closely watch each other's moves and they don't care what a million people on some Internet forum thinks but they very much care about the thoughts of their rich neighbor or their business associates. They did not invest because of the news, CNBC, mainstream media, internet groupies, teenage millionaires, but they will invest because some billionaires did it.

The real bitcoin bubble is just beginning. It's possible a year from now we'll see a 100 thousand dollar bitcoin and wonder why haven't we sold our houses and bought bitcoin with every single fiat that we had.

This may become fundamental news for good bitcoin to increase again. However, actually, we don't know about him and he is not very popular enough.
But, it will become a good influence on that country itself. It may not give a big influence on the world as Elon Musk did.
Sometimes, if a public figure or influencing people also connect with Bitcoin in a country, they will give more influence to their followers or even other people to follow.

Seems this is the new trend now, large investors are all adding the #BTC hash tag to their bio to show their support for bitcoin, alot of people are now adding it to their bio too, seems everyone is bullish on bitcoin  ;D.
Who do you think will be following in their footsteps? Will these steps promote mass adoption? Your thought?!
Probably their loyal followers who see them as mentors and are ready to follow their footsteps, just like Elon Musk's followers who are ready to buy any coin he talks about, just like when he talked about doge all his followers went and bought it same thing with when he added bitcoin to his profile, no doubt this is increasing the rate of mass adoption of bitcoin around the world.

Completely. I don't see any reason why wealthy people will publicized their crypto currency investment just to advertise their companies which is not crypto related and you are right about some wealthy people which secretly invested in Bitcoin and don't want to make it public cause it may affect their primary company/investment.

I agree that we don't know the person but if he could buy something like billion dollars equivalent of Bitcoin then it's considered that he's a whale too. I believe there are billionaires out there that we didn't even know – yet they invest in Bitcoin because they've seen a great potential of this crypto currency as an asset valuable such as gold and diamond. I bet people who knew him would eventually follow and support his decision about how Bitcoin is an innovative creation.

Besides we do have a lot of richest man in each county we are living but most of them didn't take an effort to announce their selves that they've bought Bitcoin in the first place. Sooner or later the message will scatter to their fellow business partners, I guess this is a start again of making a new ATH record.

Many rich people are inspired by Elon Musk, but more and more rich people are changing their twitter bio to include Bitcoin as a positive thing.
No wonder Bitcoin price is now continuing to rise even in the near future it looks like it could hit a price of $ 50k, I am sure many rich people will
follow in the footsteps of Ricardo Salinas Pilego. So I am very optimistic that this year's $ 100k target can be achieved, very effective indeed makes
Bitcoin even more bullish if the rich and institutions support Bitcoin.

It is an expansion of fluid among the rich folks and their admirers. It is a healthy growth for bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as influential as Elon Musk is whenever he tweets about Dogde coin there is a sudden increase in price and the adoption expands more. This is what is at play here too. The rich people have a circle of excellence, they inspire and make things happen in the society even when the government is solely against some of their decisions. Let's see the chart of Bitcoin use case in Mexico for the next 4- 12 months to determine his influence.

I think most of the richest person already have some crypto but they just want to keep it low back then and now that the crypto are being trendy they are making a huge wave to make it bloom some more.
I think there would be more who would come out of it and make an announcement or put it on their bio in their social media accounts.
