Title: Bithumb Deposit Not Received - Need Help - Possible Scam Alert
Post by: IsBithumbAscam on February 09, 2021, 08:35:29 PM
Hi everyone,

I sent Cardano/Ada to my Bithumb Global account couple of days ago and they have still not been credited on my Bithumb account.

I contacted their Customer Support (Cindy and Anna) who told me that there is a wallet issue on their side, that their technicians are looking into the issue and that I should "be patient".

I then joined their Telegram page and found out that several other people had similar deposit issues with diverse coins. I contacted those people and they made their deposit several weeks ago and their Bithumb account has still not been credited. The excuse seems to be always the same "technicians are looking into the issue, please be patient". It seems that I have asked too many questions as Bithumb have banned me from their Telegram page and they are not answering me on their chat anymore...

Did someone has similar experience with Bithumb Global? Did you get your deposit in the end, and how much time it took? Should I consider that Bithumb Global is a scam and that I have lost my funds?

Thank you for your help.

Dont have experience on using this platform but overall Bithumb is legit and reputable even though they do really have some issues even with other top exchangers as well.
For now theres nothing you can do but to wait up for them to resolved out those technical issues.

Once you do have the possession of those keys then better to pull it off and find another exchange like Binance.
Im not saying that they do suck but why would use such platform if it does only give out some headaches?  8)

Thank you for your reply, originally I did not want to use Bithumb Global, but I had no choice as it was the only exchange providing access to certain tokens I wanted to trade...
I will follow your advice and wait to see if they manage to credit my account, then will definitely switch to a better exchange like binance... For me this is not acceptable to wait several weeks for a deposit to be credited, especially with the current volatility in the crypto market...

Did you send money to the right address or use the correct domain? Many phishing attacks happen these days.
It is strange that such technical problems occur because I did not know any change that have happened in ADA network, but it may be tampering in the worst case (your funds are safe.)
The price is still increasing, so contact the support team and do not stop.

Yes I sent ADA to the correct address, no phishing. Bithumb confirmed that they received the ADA but they have "a wallet issue" on their side and their technicians are "working on it, please be patient".
I am contacting their Support twice a day but it is always the same reply, " Be patient". I even contacted their managing director Javier Sim on Telegram to escalate the issue and he did not even reply. I think they do not really care, I am really concerned that they are just running a scam and will shut down their business any time soon and disappear with our money... I met other people on Telegram who are having the exact same issue for weeks... This is really concerning and clearly demonstrate a complete lack of professionalism from Bithumb.

According to what Bithumb announced on December 16, 2020, Cardano (ADA) deposits were disabled because that coin had an announced hard fork. Is it possible that they have not been able to adjust since then, or were there some more unforeseen difficulties around the hard fork that still affect deposits, only they know. Someone said that crypto exchange lost its reputation a long time ago, because if you are hacked as many as 3 times, the only question is when it will happen again.

Due to the blockchain hard fork of the Cardano (ADA), deposit and withdrawal services of ADA will be suspended. As soon as the ADA network is stable, we will resume deposit and withdrawal services.

This is unbelievable... Bithumb is the worst exchange I have ever dealt with. I was speaking with someone today who has been waiting for 1 month, and the funds have still not been credited... This is unbearable... The market moves extremely fast those days and Bithumb Global is puting our capital at risk... I don't understand why it is so complicated to make an ADA wallet work... And if they knew that there was an issue with their ADA wallet, why didn't they block ADA deposits? Right now it is still enabled... Unbelievable... What a bunch of amateurs.

Someone said that crypto exchange lost its reputation a long time ago, because if you are hacked as many as 3 times, the only question is when it will happen again.

Bithumb global is a separate entity from bithumb.com (the south korea one) and therefore has never been hacked, although i do understand the skepticism about it as they share the same name and have some sort of connection.

@op, what you can do now is to go around the internet and spread the word hoping you get enough attention for them to prioritize you  :(
