Are you surprise that Bitcoin reaches $40,000 this early month of the year? I was hoping that April will be a good month for Bitcoin to reach $40,000, but things come too fast, and as of this writing Bitcoin is on the $46,000 and still doing great.

No, we went into a period of consolation for three weeks, it's just a matter of time that we will have a breakout run. And we have seen it happen with Musk tweet #bitcoin, went briefly to $38,000 had a minor dip to $35,000. It's just a matter of time and some good news to have a eventual run to $40,000.

And that's what happen here, so we have to thank Elon, LOL as he has been into bitcoin and he just confirmed it in the last 24 hours or so.

So I obviously voted: NO

This is not the first time Musk and his team have accelerated the price of Bitcoin and other crypto projects. This is manipulation in its purest form. Musk is looking at cryptocurrencies as another tool to add value to Tesla stock. And I also see Musk establish himself by watching how he controls not only prices in the market, but also people.  :o

At least he's putting money where his mouth is.

Jamie Dimon and his bank manipulated crypto market with his tweets years ago and did not invest at first. They were playing arouund checking what they can do and how much influence they have. As a bank all they wanted to do is short bitcoin and make some quick money.

Musk is in for the long run.

To be sincere, i wasnt expecting bitcoin to reach 40k dollars this soon either, its a thing of surprise to me, and a thing of disappointment too cus unfortunately for me, i dont hold any bitcoin right now, i sold all my eth 24 eth last year when price was still between 400 and 450 dollar, i will regret this action and sometimes, it makes me wanna cry like a baby, if only i was patient, by now, i would i would be a multi millionaire in my countries currency .
but all hopes arent lost yet, i believe that if i work hard, i will still make it again.

In any case, I do not see anything negative in the fact that Elon Musk uses cryptocurrency for his own purposes to increase the value of his financial assets of Tesla. So far, this completely coincides with the aspirations of the participants in this market and therefore we must welcome and support it. On the other hand, Tesla's $ 1.5 billion investment in Bitcoin directly arouses interest in cryptocurrency not only for ordinary people, but also for other large business structures. This can significantly increase the liquidity of the cryptocurrency and at the same time, it will prevent states from implementing any restrictive measures in relation to bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

It was there even in january so i do not know why you are surprised to see 40k in february, if the momemtum remains we can expect next leg up to take btc to 70k.

Repeated ATH's since the start of the year have been surprising enough, but people have to wonder who is buying in now just on the say-so of this or that person?  When the price has a "correction" which happens with any investment, that's when people might realise they aren't in for the long haul and cash out.

Just after a few days, bitcoin goes $48k and that's just $2k bucks away for hitting $50k. We didn't even thought that it will be quicker this time because whenever bitcoin hits new ATH, it's hard to break the barrier which we obviously saw before.
Things have gone quickly and the awaited thing for this time if it will break $50k and it's going to be the next support that we're going to have for the next days and weeks or even for March.

I voted yes because things are looking good after Bitcoin break it's all-time high there were few FUDS and the news of PayPal is still have an effect on the community and mind of investors, and many people think that this is very much different from the last all-time high where after Bitcoin reaches an all-time high it crashes.

It just the 2nd week of February and it already reaches 47k$ in the market I notice that compared in the past years the growth of bitcoin today was really skyrocketing in just a short amount of time we already skyrocketing and reaching new ATH even the longest candlestick was made in the growth of bitcoin. With that, I think we just don't see it but after a month we could already see near 100k$ or maybe even hit it in March. We could easily see the effect of just 1 article or 1 good news about bitcoin just like the Tesla investment what it could do to the market price.

The price of bitcoin has now reached an all-time high of $ 47K more, and we can imagine how much profit for those who buy and hold bitcoin in mid-2020, almost reaching 100% of the profit that can be and seeing the condition of bitcoin that is still in a positive trend is likely that the price of bitcoin will continue to increase, even some crypto analysts say if it is not possible that the price of bitcoin will reach $90-$100K before the end of 2021, I am personally very confident that if bitcoin dominance continues, of course the end of april we can see if bitcoin is being traded for more than $ 50K in the market.

But it has already happened, Bitcoin is currently significant in the $ 46k range and this is very interesting, recently the previous bitcoin price was $ 40k and now $ 46k. And the surprise of coming to the Tesla project, I really still don't believe that Elon Musk has such a big influence on the current crypto price, but it really is.

$45,000 looking like a strong hold and price has stayed up there between $46 and $47,000. Bitcoin is doing great and may shock all to start a run to $50,000 and above to $55k this month.

Any price of Bitcoin can't be the perfect price. We didn't know the situation of Bitcoin during the year of 2018, when Bitcoin crossed the 19k. The last correction time is coming before the next bullrun. Although after March, correction time will be over. We couldn't see 80k more pumps before the third quarter of this year.

To my expectations the price will keep raging up and through the month of February 2021, but in contrast to your thoughts about what Bitcoin would be at in April, I think it will maintain the price but not with any raging increase the price at some point will receive some few Jabs of low price but the recovery may see another all time high in the making.

Bitcoin demand is continuously increasing in recent days, so this is not end in this month because of big whales are enter in the market and many countries are accepting the cryptocurrencies. I think you are not concentrate the further development of Bitcoin so you think it will maintain a same range in crypto market. But reality we see both pump and dump of Bitcoin and we are not see the big scale drop in recent days so next it will reach $50k soon.

it will happen if market domination and demand still increase in large numbers. The good news as more and more companies are investing in bitcoin will be a breath of fresh air. when the market is still strong I don't think the market will collapse any time soon.

Bitcoin is knocking on the door of $50,000 as we speak, so a better title for the thread would be to change $40,000 to $60,000 (or maybe even $75,000 if a certain person restarts tweeting from inside their electric vehicle plant...)   ::)

Obviously, You are good to know about the recent news of Bitcoin and crypto activity. The current market is gradually growing so we accept the current traffic of Bitcoin. But always accept the market collapse because of decentralized platform is little hard to find the future economy. I hope we always survive in any situation of Bitcoin.

all are likely to exceed $ 40k as currently with the impact of the pandemic unfinished,and many are on the lookout for a safe spot where market demand will soar.
but we ourselves will not know what it will be because predicting bitcoin is not that easy..

It is time for Bitcoin to reach a price above $ 50k by 2021. Because Bitcoin has been struggling for 10 years, and credibility can be trusted by all parties. And now many large companies in the world make it a means of payment.

Honestly, I did not think that bitcoin would hit $40k this year, but now since bitcoin already hit that figure, I think $50k is the next target.
Bitcoin has been trying to break that in the past few days but still failed, however, price is still bullish so few more tries then $50k will be the new ATH.

Most probably were thinking the same. Even bitcoin was quickly rising at the end of 2020, we mostly thought that it will be the peak and just after a week or two then 2018 bear market will happen. But the good thing is that, the pattern and expectation that we have thought isn't happening or at least not yet happening. We're close to $50k because we've seen $49k last time.

bitcoin's next target will be $ 50,000, it looks like the bullrun market is still continuing. there is still a chance to trade. I hope that in June 2021 there will be no price correction, and it will remain on the trend line.

i really suprised how bitcoin price keep rising from the beginning of this year till now. i believe that bitcoin price will reach $40k in 2021, but i didn't expected that it will come so early in this year. luckily, i still hold some bitcoin from last december. i hope the bullish market will keep running in a few months.

Of course all of us in this forum hope for the best to happen with bitcoin in particular and all digital currencies in general. I am sure of course that is a prediction and your hope for a higher bitcoin price, even the increase in bitcoin prices at the beginning of February is beyond our predictions. this is a historic year for BITCOIN making its value up to $ 50k.

Indeed, none want a huge correction like that and bitcoin needs to break 2-3 major support level to go back to $40k. Hopefully, that type of support level won't effect at least for next 3-4 months untill we're enjoying the bullish rally. Also, we're so close to break the $50k price level and soon to hit that milestone of $50k. Lets just focus on that with having small corrections.

There'll be no correction probably. I mean, with all these good news about cryptocurrency being implemented to many large corporations left and right the market cap and the price will only go up. Many people also started to be aware of the technology behind cryptocurrencies and hitting $50K mark? definitely piece of cake at current bullrun, it's just matter of time until we breakthrough that wall and goes beyond that.
Tesla investing to bitcoin and accepting it as means of payment is only the beginning.

The title should be change to $50k as we have crossed the $40k barrier with ease and all the resistance line are broken. Now it's the game of $50k, although we are closer, I don't think it has been broken yet. This is a big test for the market to get that hump and overcome the mental barrier, because after this, sky is the limit again and majority of us thinking that bitcoin can go as high as $100k at the end of the year.

I am glad to see bitcoin price can stay for more than $45k this month, and the bitcoin price is on the way to break $50k this month. We can wait for more while we can buy many bitcoin we want before starting the rally. But it seems too hard to break $49,500 because I see that the price can not increase more than $49,200. Maybe bitcoin needs more support so that it can lift the price to go to the high price and will be able to break $49,300. The $100k will be too high for bitcoin to reach, but it still possible to happen this year.

I'm on the price of the BTC when the price is almost 50k. The BTC pricing graph is highest of the historical moment in evaluation of the crypto history. Some of the forex traders have sold their reserved BTC coin from this pumped circumstance and on the other hand, some of the traders are love to hold their coin for 60k. So, In that case, I would love to say that the BTC price will be touch 55k last week of February or begin of March.

My Vote is for yes , Bitcoin already reached $40K and will reach $50K by February, 2021 will be a turning point for all the Bitcoin holders and Investors, who can benefit more Profit than any other ALT Coin Holders.

Right now Bitcoin has hit the price of $ 49k, It's just a little bit more Bitcoin will hit the price of $ 50k which is my target this February. The price
movement of Bitcoin has been extraordinary this year, ever since Elon Musk changed his bio on Twitter to #bitcoin. The price of Bitcoin was
immediately pumped, after that Tesla announced that it had bought Bitcoin in large quantities.  No wonder the price of Bitcoin continues to rise,
if like this the Bitcoin target of $ 100k this year is very likely to be achieved.

 

It depends on the market trends and needs of a particular asset. We all know what was happening in each bull run in which everything was going to the moon, therefore with the flow of the crypto market today, I can say that Bitcoin is playing along $40k to $60k this year. I don't know whether it will go up or down in the coming days and weeks. But hopefully, it goes up further even more.

Elon Musk changed his bio to bitcoin when bitcoin was at around 38k dollars. Not when it was 3k, not when it was 7k, not when it was even 20k, not even when it was 30k, he changed it when it was 38k dollars per bitcoin. So, I can guarantee you 100% that it is impossible for bitcoin to be manipulated by elon musk this whole time.

I think bitcoin is doing great as it is right now all thanks to itself and thanks to all of us who believed that bitcoin could be great as well. Obviously speaking bigger companies like grayscale and microstrategy all played a big role as well, those people talked with their money and made their decision to buy bitcoin when it was cheaper, they last had an average of 15-20k entry point, so they are richer as well. We can all be proud of what we have achieved together.

And now bitcoin reached $50k another new ATH of bitcoin, it is still keep increasing. At the beginning of the month I expect the down fall of the market just like the year 2018 I though the history will repeat but no, unexpectedly Elon Musk tweeted about bitcoin and doge. The market has changed and still we are in bull, possible bitcoin will hit $60k..

We already hit $51k this day, so $40k will need to change. Maybe $51k-$60 will be the next roadmap of bitcoin price that will need to reach. It seems the price now looks stable for a while and not increase much, but we hope the price can grow in the next hours or tomorrow. But we should not be surprised if the price is down in the next hours because that will mean the price makes a correction before it is back increasing again. I hope @OP can change the title as the bitcoin price now is at $51k.

$50K was the major psychological resistance. Now BTC broke that barrier so I think now it could fly anywhere. But now big institutional investors are on the train so we may see a very big correction anytime. If you are a trader then it will be better to book profits from your holding. The market is still bullish and it could hit any ATH now and I am expecting more than $60k.

I do believe that it will reach to 60k, we are getting a lot more good news about bitcoin and as long as that continues I doubt that bitcoin price would go down, there is absolutely no reason for it to go down, and since there are many good news and there are no bad news, why would it go down? This is why I think 60k is more possible, of course it may not happen any time soon, but it could probably happen eventually and that is what I believe in, I think it will make a move eventually but it may stay here for a while, but I doubt a 40k could come anytime soon.

Of course I can't predict the future, maybe it will be 10k who knows, I can't predict what will happen, all I am trying to do is trying to guess what is going to happen, my only logic is that good things are happening right now and there are no bad things that is happening, which is why I think it will be fine.

To be honest i never expected bitcoin to reach 40k that soon and no we are already at 50k $. If i woul dhave known that i would have invested money back in march 2020 when everything crashed thanks to the covid pandemy.
But back then i didn't invest because i feared that maybe the market would collapse completey so i missed out on big potential gains. But hey that's life.  :)
At least i made some nice gains via investing in some new projects from august until now.

We have to thank Elon Musk for this rapid surge to $40k and now we are topping $50k and it seems this is not going to stop. Although there are still people who doubt bitcoin and saying that it will go on a bearish trend. Stable is not in the vocabulary of bitcoin though, it will remain volatile so we have to embrace it and take advantage specially when it goes on correction.

$40k seems to be the new low now, I must admit I am very surprise with the BTC price action, if the price keeps growing this way, we will hit $200K by December which to me doesn't seems a big deal. I am waiting for Apple to announce that they are holding BTC, then expect the price to go over $100k because almost all the companies will start allocating part of their reserve to Bitcoin

Very true! Who would have thought that we will reach this 50k this year? There are a lot of surprises that come our way this year. Hoping to see more of companies or institutions coming into crypto. They will solidify more the existence of crypto and give more meaning even to ordinary people. And maybe in the near future, we will see crypto as just ordinary option in the payment sector in most merchants.

Yes I already expected it to reach $40K this month it even went higher than my expectation it went straight to $50K.
Because of the bull run last year and strong price increase I already expect it to get so high but I am still bit of surprise on how high it is right now,
And it looks like it isn't going to end here for me I feel like it would continue to go higher.

I honestly don't expect the Bitcoin market to crazily surge in price this February after the December and January market positive price movement and the institutions to be the primary investors which they dump anytime they are satisfied with the profit they make and want to secure it.
I guess more good things are coming from this year's market and I once that there is a chance for the market to reach the $100K price this year.

I keep reading over the last seven to ten days that people are expecting $100,000 is just around the corner - but then what?  A slump?  A correction?  Another surge to $250,000 ??

Bitcoin is increasingly turning into a pseudo gold/silver commodity (i.e. a method of storing wealth) instead of being used to make secure online purchases as originally intended.

I believe the upcoming recession which was predicted to happen after the COVID-19 that lead to some institutions, banks, and private companies using Bitcoin as their reserve fund was the reason alot of people believe Bitcoin will seal the $100,000 price this year but that doesn't mean Bitcoin has turned into a pseudo gold but using it as pseudo gold is always the intention of all holder during ATH market.

Yep I'm so surprised that bitcoin reached $40k price in January, I expect the dump of the market in January because bitcoin was already reached the all time high but I'm wrong, bitcoin keeps increasing and now still making a new record of the highest price. It is now $54k and I think it can go further up to $60k, unbelievable.

it is more than 55k now as of this writing, and it seems there's no stopping yet. we are witnessing a history in the making here. and we are just in the month of february. good news keeps on coming. but be alert as correction is just around the corner. we have never seen such large increase in just short period of time. and right now, we are breaking records here.
i hope those noobs that are now jumping on board educate themselves first before buying their first crypto. this is quite high risk of investment.

I'm not surprised in anyway, I stopped being surprised after bitcoin broke the 2017 ATH and went straight up till over $25k-$30k,at the moment the price of bitcoin is trading over $55k that's $15k added to the $40k price no one believed, indeed bitcoin isa real gem, i remember before this month I saw alot of forecast saying this month of February would be red for bitcoin, they claimed it was going to retrace badly, but once more bitcoin proved everyone wrong, we might even see $60k this month,maybe :).

Probably more than 60k until the end of this month. it looks like people have been starting to hyping the crypto again. Bitcoin pumped again recently. The institution is about to come to the crypto market. People are seeking more and more opportunities to make money from the market. I see that there are lots of new players in crypto and they have been starting to consider bitcoin as a part of their portfolios.
I see that bitcoin could break another record as soon as possible. The crypto is so crazy right now.

all hope that the price of bitcoin will increase every year because after the increase in the price of bitcoin, we can be sure that the altcoin price will follow the movement of bitcoin to the moon. although not all altcoins will follow but there will be some that will make their way to the moon. I hope that in the future our hopes will come true.
