Just half an hour ago, Elon Musk tweeted that he has purchased Dogecoin. This is hilarious. Finally he is getting into crypto (may be he was here for long ago). I just got the reason behind his shilling lol.

Yeah I also saw that tweet moments ago. I believe he used a custodial wallet in his first purchase that gave him problems (discussed here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5316196.0)). He's been tweeting about it for the longest time and I'm not surprised he bought some just for fun or for testing actual crypto transactions. He could also be serious about it and purchased before every Doge meme tweets.

It is not his. So he still dont own any. Rich people dont need crypto. Crypto is for the poor. There is no bank on the world that can say to Musk you cant buy this. There are plenty of banks on the world that can say that to half world population. For them permissionless cryptocurrencies are the solution.

Well, there is not much hike in DOGE price, just a regular hike of 4% but we can expect the price surge tomorrow possibly when everyone can access their funds in banks and buy some DOGE.

Already i know about this tweet,  and it is very positive news for Dogecoin. We see that when Elon musk add Bitcoin on his Twitter bio, then bitcoin demand has very high. So as my opinion this is good news for all doge investors and also for project.

I dont think Elon musk have any Dogecoin, he just only want to have fun of it.

His tweet not giving big impact anymore. The more he says about this coin, the less effect for it. maybe some people will trapped but maybe just under 10% in increase. I affraid if community lost their trust for doge slowly because the price increased because pumping by rich people.

That means people have wake up to the fact that he's just creating hype for the coin because it doesn't make any sense for the person that proclaimed to be the CEO to just bought the coin even if he does is not a must he publicized it in the first because if the coin is good it will influence it pump in price.
But some people believe his company's $1.5Billion investment in Bitcoin cause Mastercard to plan to add cryptocurrency to their service.

The bigger news is that he is now buying btc regularly as his company tesla will keep part of reserves in btc and soon they will also start accepting btc and other top coins to purchase tesla cars, being the high demand car company this is very big news and we will definitely see its positive impact in the market with prices pumpong even harder.

I am starting to feel like Elon Musk is working for Dogecoin as the marketing manager. He pushed tweets to boost the price of Dogecoin. And now his tweet become more specific by saying 'buy Dogecoin'. Well, what's happening with him, I don't care. I just enjoy the pump on many crypto coins because of his tweets. 😄

I think within 24 hours of the tweet, the coin has done additional 2%. He is getting some hype of the coin which is turning out good for hodlers. Tweeter followers are believers of Elon are pumping doge hard from his tweet.

We really have to take this opportunity to make money instead of hating this guy for putting too much hype on this market, we can’t deny but Elon is indeed hyping Doge. He bought it or not it doesn’t matter, we see the price surge we jump into it as early as possible, not unless you want to be left behind then that’s your choice.

By the way, there is a good impact and bad impact of this situation. In fact, many newbies are coming here because of his tweets and then buying coins without any analysis. ANd this is careless when they only follow the hype, without considering the risk management. Buying at the top price and then the price dumps, they will cry without knowing anything.

He said he bought it for his son who is a baby. It doesn't show that he is too serious about this coin. He is just playing around and having fun with this Dogecoin meme. You wouldn't give a child BTC because it is too valuable, but Dogecoin is useful for introducing people to how cryptocurrency works.

He may have bought it but I don't think he expects a gain from it or any possible use case in the future. It has unlimited amount of supply and for it to just reach 1$ each, the market cap should be almost a trillion if my computation is correct. Its recent increase is just hype for me. I would rather buy other altcoins with the same price but has really good use case and has the potential to grow in the future.

He is really shilling and hyping the dogecoin because I think he has a very hidden plan for it knowing for a fact that elon musk is one of those whale investors and once that they have seen that the value of dogecoin went really high its a potential selling time for them. On a serious note, Tesla invested $1.5 billion in Bitcoin last month and we can say that Elon has indirectly purchased BTC. So he knows which cryptocurrency to take seriously. He made two cryptocurrency purchases. The first one involved BTC, to increase his wealth and protect it against inflation. And the second one involved a few $$$ worth of DOGE so that his son can play with them.

I don't think he bought a little amount of Dogecoin although he is not giving us any figure, with his status and his wealth I'm sure he bought a huge amount of it, I have this feeling that he bought hundreds of thousands worth of Dogecoin that is why we have a huge pump of Dogecoin, now that he is into Cryptocurrency we must always check his social media for the next pump in line.

In fact, after he wrote it on his Twitter, many people were interested in it, even my friends on social media responded very much to it, and started buying Dogecoin in the hope that Elon Musk would write something positive about Dogecoin again. however, it could be as high as $ 0.1 because of that.

I know that what Musk is doing can be good for some traders out there but on the other side, it is very risky especially for those who are starting to get FOMO'ed because of what he is saying. Some people believe that the richest DOGECOIN wallet belongs to Elon Musk, for the past 2 years he has been constantly purchasing there Doge, with and 10x rate last 2 months. It has accumulated 36,812,358,629.53 DOGES until now.

He is indeed a DOGE supporter and HODLER, so I believe DOGE is a safe investment.

Doge has been for years now my favorite coin to move coins between exchanges, wallets, so it will always have a usability in this matter.

Just because he recently came out and tell the world he bought DOGE and bitcoin doesn't mean it will make DOGE a safe investment.
What we are feeling now is just all about the bullish sentiment, we easily got fooled with what the popular personality will tell us, hopefully we won't regret our decision.

You can also see that his last tweets did not have a positive positive effect on the price anymore. Which is logical because the first wave of surprise of him shilling doge are gone and the price per Doge i still very high.

He's an investor and he makes mistakes. He lost a lot of money trying to launch first rockets and he's still losing a lot with every failed start or an engine landing. He sent a car into space which also is a huge waste of money but he was the first guy to do it and willing to pay big money just to be in the history books.

If he really is the richest doge investor I feel like he's going to earn a lot of money this year.

That is being wise if he said that. It is a means of diversification and that is good. We should learn not to throw in all we have into a coin. We have to make our wallet rich with other coins and if our plans go wrong in one project, we can start up with another instead of losing all our savings to one project.

We never know who is behind the tweet unless he make a statement is a media that he bought dogecoin or bitcoin. Indeed, in a few time ago Elon Musk has been giving a lot of thing for crypto currency space. They make bitcoin another all time high and its price still trying to increase more than that also they make bitcoin getting mass adoption.

Yeah, I also came across this tweet while scrolling through my Twitter news feed, he said he bought it for his son, it caused a little fomo though, but not much increase in dogecoin price as its still low, lately it's seems the crypto sphere has caught the attention of many large investors around the world, we have seen how large investors just keep coming into the crypto sphere, e.g Elon, Jack Dorsey even Jay Z has come to see the light in crypto,at this rate mass adoption will happen in no time.

This is obvious manipulation. First Elon Musk praises the Doge project, then simply mentions it on his Twitter, observing the reaction. Now it turned out he decided to buy Dogecoin for his youngest son so that he could be a baby trader. Well, this is generally not serious. It seems elon musk is excited to dogecoin, such as promoting and introducing to the public that dogecoin nice to keep it as an investment asset in the future. Not entirely sure if the whole price surge, not just in Dogecoin but to all the coins in crypto was because of this simply tweet of a celebrity.
We're up to a slide downwards if this is really the cause of it, or like walking in an eggshell.

For sure Elon musk invested in the DOGE coin and probably he just wants profit I mean he is very influential in the cryptocurrency community.

And with just a simple tweet could easily affect the price of a token and we already see that happened in the bitcoin market price, he might just pick a low-value token invested in it and then hype the token in social media that might be the case in DOGE coin.

Ya, I call it misleading cause the guy's tweets is just shaking the market which is unhealthy.  Many people jumped into Dogecoin cause of him, what will happen if he decides to sell...massive price reduction in the coin I believe.

This is how a businessman thinks he will only open his card at the right time, he may be buying Dogecoin back when Dogecoin is at its lowest, and now that the bull run he announced it hoping to get his investment made a huge profit for him and look what happens it made a positive impact, I'm sure he has more coins in his portfolio.

He was bashing dogecoin recently due to the centralization. It sounds like if he was only buying doge for a run only. He said that it's for his son and no more. It's only speculation that created by the community.

he's not gonna buy a coin other than BTC and doge that's majority total supply of that certain coin holder is the developer itself.
I think the reason he bought doge because there's lesser concentration of dogecoin to the whales' wallet compared to ETH and I predict that he's not gonna touch ETH like never.

Looking at the performance of DOGE now, it looks like it has corrected itself or maybe still correcting as the price is still going down. Certainly any trader would shy away from DOGE for the meantime while we see that it is going down right now. Maybe in my opinion this is all just a hype and whoever got the most of it are the winners for this quarters DOGE increase. Anyway good luck to all traders cause like I said it is risky to lose your money right now if you trade in DOGE.

I did my own research and so far, I am not getting anything about Elon giving any mention of any other cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin and Dogecoin. I am not able to find anything, not even a tweet or a news article that would suggest that he mentioned any other cryptocurrencies other than the one he already mentioned. I think he is really serious only on those two coins and there is nothing else he is serious in getting.

I also had time to see Elon Musk's tweet, which he said that he bought Dogecoin for his toddler son. regardless of his desire to buy Doge coin, but with what he did it was something positive received by Dogecoin to make the price higher. If possible, someone will follow Elon Musk to buy up Dogecoin.

That is possible since Elon Musk is the richest man in the world. Aside from that, he is a visionary so we can say that all of his doings have also meaning and purpose. Maybe we can't see it now but we will. He always thinks outside the box, his vision is not usual like the ordinary people.

Elon Musk also said to sell Dogecoin.  He stated that having so many coins centralized in the hands of so few is the reason why he can't support Dogecoin and that those users should sell.  Not only do I think it's unwise to buy Dogecoin now, but I think it's incredibly irresponsible for Elon Musk to be saying things like he has been, that are certainly going to cost a lot of people that don't have money to spare their savings.  I can't tell you how many clueless people I've talked to who got led by Elon into purchasing Doge at $0.08.  These people are more than likely going to lose their savings, while Elon laughs at the fun little experiment.  It's rare that I think Elon does something stupid, usually I think his trolling is hilarious, but knowing that so many people are going to lose money makes me sad. 

Elon Musk is a futurist.  He sees the value in crypto so he's tried to boost it.  But a ponzi scammer does not have the intelligence to guess at the reasons Elon Musk does things.

It is a speculation that the richest wallet in Doge is held by Elon Musk, i wont be surprised if he really held that kind of coins in his wallets but the problem i see is that he was known to manipulate the market from time to time and if he invested heavily and was profiting from these rallies without any regulation he will get away from any legal implications.


Once the price of bitcoin started rallying i was using doge to gamble because of the low fees and the lower valuation.

I think not only Elon Musk has a huge number of Doge in the wallet. We're not sure about how much he owes now, honestly.

Actually, Elon did the best thing in crypto. I don't think he is intentionally making this hype but it is just the people who are acting differently and make their own speculations. If only that he never tweeted that event, I'm not sure if we have this spike, probably not. But, we have this thing started already. Manipulation? never mind it, it is already been a part of crypto, even before Elon Musk.

I'm sure Elon Musk has bought a lot of Dogecoin, so he shills Dogecoin a lot. To be able to get more profit from Dogecoin, I'm not too sure if shilling
too often will work. Because not all investors will eventually be influenced again, by what Elon Musk did. I recommend that Elon Musk should do
something even more creative to promote Dogecoin.

I'm sure Elon Musk has another goal behind his tweet on Twitter, hopefully his goal is to raise the enthusiasm of long-standing investors on Dogecoin or he wants Dogecoin to continue to compete in the crypto market.

A few things to remember here:

1. This tweet is almost two months old
2. Elon purchased DOGE for his toddler son, and not for himself
3. Even at current levels, DOGE doesn't rank anywhere near the top-10 cryptocurrencies, in terms of market cap
4. Tweet from Elon hasn't caused any noticeable increase in acceptance of adoption of DOGE
5. Elon is not the only one who has tweeted about DOGE. There have been others before him, such as Snoop Dogg and Gene Simmons.

I didn't see any remarkable improvement in the price of DOGE  in the aftermath of Elon Musk massive buying, although there was an instant impact in the pump price of DOGE whem he bought DOGE massively however thereafter it price dumped and had been stagnant after undergoing corrections without any volatility.from my own point of view it will take another massive buying by some whales before it price pump again else the price will continue to range for another long period of time invariably not ideal for trading and hodling.

There wasn't any massive purchase with DOGE. Elon purchased a few coins, for his son. The amount was very small, and it had no impact on the market pricing. The tweet may have created some hype for DOGE, but from what I can see it didn't lasted long. The problem is that DOGE is essentially a shitcoin and the technology is ages behind that of the other cryptocurrencies. On top of that, it's acceptability remains very low.

What's the scary part is that he could do this for useless coins, for the proper ones he can't do anything, and just because he said it, some useless bad low level coin could go up. Look at doge, look at it in detail, you will see that its literally as useless as it gets, it's really nothing that worths anything, it's really a very useless one, but for some reason people got hyped about it just with a tweet.

There are so many coins that are 10 times better than doge, they have use cases, community, great development, awesome roadmap, better decentralization, investment returns and many other things, they are awesome but that dude liked doge because "lol memes" and now its higher. That's why I think we should be careful about it, we should not get hyped just because some rich dude tweeted about a coin, that's not a way to actually make any money, or you could just "hope" for someone else to make you rich.

Obviously he wants to get profited in huge amount. Why he doesn't focus on others crypto currency. I think he is holding a large amount of Doge and by focusing on Doge, he is trying to increase it's price.

It may be, but not really sure about this. We don't know if he is really serious to shill Dogecoin, or he just makes a joke for Dogecoin. If he really wants to buy a crypto coin and has the intention to gain big profits from the coin, why he didn't a better coin? It should be easier if he bought BNB coin or ETH, then he tweets about them. Elon must have bigger supports and attention from crypto users, also supports from the owners of those coins. But why he didn't choose those coins, instead choosing a Dogecoin?

Dogecoin is good to get in because it is not listed on coinbase or uphold or gemini if it gets listed it will go but wat is it's use case? Who's goin to use it to buy anything?

Elon Musk is an interesting guy. He gave a lot of information about Dogecoin but in the end his company bought up to 1.5 billion USD for Bitcoin. If one day Tesla accepts the Doge coin, then I believe he bought the Doge. Doge was up 20% yesterday after his Tweet. Doge had risen too high in the past because of information from Elon. This will end soon as the community is so accustomed to it and they will not be as excited as before.

I doubt tesla will ever accept dogecoin. The coin gets pumped and dumped with ease, so its not going to be good for them. And the fact that Elon manages to exert influence over the price of the coin might not be good for Tesla. Elon knows its a meme coin and he is just mocking those pumpers. I am sure he laughs every time he sees the price rising as soon as he says something about dogecoin or tweets about it.
And the last tweet about dogecoin was an April fools tweet I guess. The amount of money he would have to spend to send bitcoin LITERALLY to the moon is absurd lol.

His jobs have caused many people to lose money indirectly. The crypto market is very sensitive and needs to grow naturally. I don't agree with what he does. I think it should be terminated.

This is all under speculation, there is no proof that Elon did buy or at least own Dogecoin, and it is obvious that he is just shilling for it prior to the full bitcoin disclosure. So for me he uses Dogecoin first to see how he will influence the price, and then gets into bitcoin and continue to shill for it, win win for him and for us bitcoin enthusiast.

I really do not see why not. Even if not seriously for a long term Elon if he knows how to arrange a payment processor he would do it. He knows as soon as he does it price will pump so why not get dogecoin and dump it all for a few Teslas?

He is already sending moon missions at some point. Another physical coin to add to the cargo will not cost him more than the profit from the pump;)

With the exception of social media viral and the short endorsements there, Elon Musk has never really made public his wallet and the amount of money he invested, the endorsement was not reputable enough and it almost changed according to his feelings. Exactly as you mentioned, avoiding these altcoins is less risky, although it may be as profitable as was the case with Dogecoin lately but we are not lacking in instances where there is a great loss after the hype ends, it is very difficult to control greed, profit and risk here

He never stop tweeting about crypto again. His tweet about buying dogecoin actually made my wife harvest some good profit and she would ultimatley come to the conclusion that crypto is financial freedom. Since we got married she has always questioned my long hours working and researching on virture asset. Her dodge coin profit arrested all her doubt. This happened in a flash during the reedit push.
