Title: Hardware Wallet Deals
Post by: dkbit98 on February 12, 2021, 04:01:10 PM
Valentines day is coming soon in a few days and if you planned to buy hardware wallet now would be a good time with some special deals for purchasing hardware wallets like Trezor.
You are getting 25% discount if you purchase their Trezor Model One double pack by February 14th, and Ledger is offering their Ledger Love Pack until February 15th with vouchers for buying crypto on their Ledger Live app with Coinify.

I would still tell everyone to spend few minutes and read my suggestions How to buy a Hardware Wallet the right way (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5288201.0) to avoid or reduce the risk of getting your personal information leaked.

those deals are usually a very good opportunity to buy a ledger wallet.

I just saw now that Ledger is offering a 15 USD voucher for ledger nano S e 25 for nano X. Personally I don't find it very useful because I don't use Coinfy, but I would try their service just to use my voucher... if possible.

I read the post you mentioned, and I will make some comments on it here:

You can also ask yourself, do you really need a Hardware wallet at all?
They are not perfect and there are alternative ways for storing your crypto, including offline computer or smartphone with installed wallet and only used for this purpose.

I think Hardware wallets are the best option for newbies and newcomers. Offline computers and smartphones can certainly work very well, but a small mistake can have terrible consequences. Hardware wallets are easy to setup and use, and a newbie hardly would make a mistake using a hardware wallet.

So, if you are a newcomer and you are not a computer/security expert, I would definitely recommend a hardware wallet. I have one, and i love it. I recommend to everyone I know who uses crypto.

Are you sure you would like to make a full KYC for a voucher worth $15 or $25?

Do I need to do a KYC?
Yes, you need to do a KYC with our partner Coinify. Due to regulation, KYC is mandatory to buy crypto.

I wouldn’t agree that a hardware wallet is the ultimate protection or as some would say bulletproof - you have hundreds of examples where users of such devices have lost their coins, either due to carelessness with backup or because they type their seed words in various fake wallets. If you don't know how to use something, it doesn't matter if it's a desktop/mobile or the best hardware wallet.

anyone know which hardware wallet offers beautiful cases or designs, or all offers are price discounts?

Would you buy a hardware wallet just for the design? If you are really looking for something special, I suggest you visit this thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5282364.0), and pay special attention to the Corazon which really has a very nice design but also a very nice price ;)

Certainly not worth it. Better to wait for another promotion, or just buy straight away and ignore the KYC voucher.

Interesting wallet. It is a Trezor wallet with a different design.

Would you put your life savings in Corazon wallet? Can we be sure there are not modifications to trezor software and firmware?
That's certainly interesting, and competition is always welcome in this market.

I am very conservative, and I would only put my money in a trezor or ledger... as this is a modified trezor, maybe i would try.

Even if the wallet is open source, the product needs time to be tested. And ledger and trezor had that time, and I trust them.

It's always great to buy things that has a promo. I don't hate their promos, it's just that these types of promos are more likely to get customers because of the current event. As everyone knows, more and more people are getting involved in cryptocurrencies and a lot of people are thinking about what type of gift they can give to their partners, and it's possible to think of hardware wallets as a gift. Kind of. Lol.

As you say yourself, it is 100% Trezor inside, and the only thing that is different is the design of the case which they claim was made of "aerospace grade titanium". You use that HW just like any other Trezor, and if you trust the Trezor, there's no reason to doubt the Corazon that was made in collaboration with Gray&Trezor.

The only small problem may be the price ranging from at least $1000 all the way up to $2000 for the gold version. In fact, the real question is not whether someone should trust this device - but whether it makes sense to pay so much for it.

Today is 7th year birthday for Trezor and they are having nice 50% discount promotion if you purchase two Trezor One hardware wallets.
7th anniversary bundle package contains Trezor One black and white and total cost is around 88 euros or 103 usd plus shipping.
It's not a bad time to get one package if you planned to purchase this model, but I am waiting to see similar promotion for Trezor Model T, maybe tomorrow.
Happy Birthday Trezor!

That's one of the better discounts I have seen in a while when it comes to hardware wallets. It's less then €44 per device which currently makes them cheaper than the Ledger Nano S. If I had a friend or relative who needed a hardware wallet as well, it's an opportunity we wouldn't miss. Just make sure you set up a good passphrase with plenty of entropy and you are all set.

but I am waiting to see similar promotion for Trezor Model T, maybe tomorrow.
Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Not yet, at least. I assume Trezor is trying to clear out their stash of Trezor One's.

Is there any info regarding how long the Trezor One will continue to be produced? Especially now when they are working on a new type of wallet with an almost 100% open-source secure element.

Small correction: They're celebrating the 7th year for the Trezor "Model One" only, so it's safe to say that when it comes to the Model T, we'll have to wait until "March 1 (https://blog.trezor.io/celebrating-three-years-of-the-trezor-model-t-5ee0a14892f0)".

This is the only thing that I could find [3 months old]:

  • @yo_haan (https://www.reddit.com/user/yo_haan/)
Regarding the Trezor One support, we do not plan to end the support nor the development of Trzeor One at all, the opposite actually, it's still being developed and it's getting new features (right now we are working on improving its firmware stack so adding new features should be even faster).

They replied that promotion for Trezor Model T will be in 3 years  :D

Ledger is usually following Trezor and they have discounts in similar time like now with 30% discount for purchasing Ledger Nano S with voting for new dApp in their Ledger Live software.
You are getting special promocode associated with dApp you choose, that you can later use to get discount for purchasing Nano S.
This Promotion is active from July 21st to August 2nd:
