Have you tried smapva?
If not yet check them first you can rent a number that could send and receive SMS and they also accept Bitcoin as payment.

Here's the link

In addition to BitMaxz's comment, there's another one that I haven't used personally [DYOR before trying it]:

  • LazerSMS (https://lazersms.com/home/)
    • Ann thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=935539.0) [one of many]
      - That thread is outdated but he/she is still around offering such services.

thanks for the suggestion.
You're very welcome :)

Do you know how to use the API
In their API section, they've already provided examples for different functions... You just need to replace certain parts with your API key [shown on the top of the page] and few other things that are self-explanatory [e.g. Recipient number, your purchased number, and the message itself].

or How I will send sms
Not sure exactly since it doesn't show the process unless I've purchased a number [it's probably a straightforward process].

I have used smspva before for sms verification. I had no idea that one can also send  sms using the rented numbers which OP is looking for

Is that the same as http://smspva.com?
I tried to log in through the beta link, but It returns an error of the wrong Username or password.

smspva have option for rent a numer for a week or 1 month.
When you rent the number, you will be able to receive and send messages, but the service is limited to the duration of the subscription, if the subscription ends, you will lose the number.

They are almost the same location, but rent  service can be found at smspva.

Are you talking about a fresh sms US number you can use to verify your account while signing up, or you want to number you will keep using to verify when logging in the future? 4
If it's the former, you can use smspva but make sure you unlink the number from your account after successful registration.

I like to be able to use gemini.  I know i need a sms us number to sign up but do you know if i need to use the sms number each time to sign in?  Or could i use google authenticator or google authy?  Main reason is so i could sign up on gemini and get verified.
