Title: CGminer setup issues for Doge
Post by: radiocoin on February 15, 2021, 04:40:38 PM
I have set up and mined garlic from this rig before and it worked alright, and now i reinstalled cgminer 3.7.2 in a teempt to switch to doge and now i cannot get the darn thing to detect my gpu's. is there a .config setup i need to adjust(besides the worker addresses), or a .bat that i am missing?

I'm running dual AMD radeon r9 200 HD 7900 series.  (yes i know they are older)

you are pretty much wasting your time.

LTC/Doge are merge mined with ASICs

most LTC/Doge pools won't allow a gpu to mine

you would want on of these

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Antminer-L3-and-PSU-IN-HAND-Apw3-Used-In-Perfect-Working-Order/123443504781?

note I do not know anything about the seller in that listing.

your cards may be able to mine kapow on nice hash not sure

In addition to Phillipma's advice, and if you really want to mine Doge with those GPUs
the problem might be cgminer. It's also very old.

Try a different scrypt miner, the miner you used for garlic probaly also supports scrypt.
Also keep in mine that Doge is merge mined. It gets mined for free with any other srcypt coin
on many pools.

In the end it might be a challenge to find a coin that's worth mining with those GPUs and a miner
that supports them.
