Title: Struggling to transfer a small amount of BTC from Binance to Bybit
Post by: Reave on February 15, 2021, 06:05:38 PM
I stopped using binance a while back as i just couldn't get on with it, and I've moved over to Bybit which i prefer way more. I only have about £60 in BTC in that account and wanted to transfer it to my Bybit account, but whenever I paste in the wallet address i want to send the funds to on Binance, it initially says "This address matches a BTC network address. Please select the correct network you wish to make the withdrawal on."

the options i have are these;

Binance Chain (BNB) BEP2 - Fee £0.097813
Binance Smart Chain (BSC) BEP20 (BSC) - Fee £0.192133
BTC - Fee £17.47
Ethereum (ETH) ERC20 - Fee £10.48

If i select anything except BTC I get the message "The address does not match the currently selected network, it is recommended that you switch to another network."

Obviously, i don't want to spent near a third of the coin i have on binance on transferring it over if i can help it. Is there anything i can do here? I tried using the support option on Binance, but I wasn't able to get through to an actual human, and the autoattendant wasn't much help.

Thanks.

Check the fees for withdrawing eos and xrp from binance and transfer to one of those to deposit onto bybit.

I think eth is also quite cheap for transfers still (but I'm not sure).

So, you wanted to transfer bitcoin to those addresses? Luckily it popped up warning not to send to the non Bitcoin addresses, because that will be the beginning of you looking for your lost Bitcoin which will not be recovered. You can only send Bitcoin to Bitcoin address. If you do not want to spend much, then you can first convert your bitcoin to ripple or litecoin, they both have very low withdrawal fee, while the exchange (trading) fee is also low. Then you will be able to withdraw it with low fee to Bybit. After you receive it on your Bybit account, you will convert it immediately back to Bitcoin.

I think eth is also quite cheap for transfers still (but I'm not sure).
I know ripple and litecoin fee to be very low on binance. I do not know about EOS. But, Ethereum fee is high which is 0.005ETH, that amounts to over $9. But using ripple and litecoin come with very low fee.

I paid 0.0000055 eth fee with etoro a while ago - but they might have subsedised the fee.

Ltc can't be deposited on bybit sadly!

You do not have to use withdraw option. There are many other methods.

Use any cheap fees cryptos such as Ripple, Dash, and Dogecoin withdraw it from binance send it to Bybit directly or use any auto exchange that supports Ripple/Bybit exchange.

Do not try to withdraw it using Binance you send it to wrong address and lost it forever.
contact the support team to know the reason for your inability to withdraw it.
As said already that the exchange (Bybit) doesn't support Litecoin deposit, it doesn't support Dash and Dogecoin deposit either and the best option the OP has is to exchange his BTC for either EOS or XRP. But, out of curiosity, I why the OP will leave an exchange site like Binance and switch exchange with a limited coin listing.

Deposits and withdrawals on Bybit.com
  • How to make a deposit and withdrawal: How long does it take to withdraw my funds? Is there a fee for deposit or withdrawal? Is there a minimum amount for deposit or withdrawal? (https://help.bybit.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039748753-How-to-make-a-deposit-and-withdrawal-How-long-does-it-take-to-withdraw-my-funds-Is-there-a-fee-for-deposit-or-withdrawal-Is-there-a-minimum-amount-for-deposit-or-withdrawal-)

Currently, Bybit only accepts BTC, ETH, XRP, EOS and USDT deposits, and does not accept other currencies such as LTC, TRX, BCH, etc.
Bybit does not support USDT on TRC-20 chain and with OMNI layer or ERC-20 chain, fee will be expensive. If you want to save a little bit of transaction fee with your small transaction, XRP or EOS are only 2 options for you.

Withdrawal fee on Binance
  • EOS: 0.1 EOS
  • XRP: 0.25 XRP

You didn't mention about the conversion part on Binance, you should have to convert your BTC into something which is listed on Bybit and also having Cheap transaction fee. Many people suggesting XRP here so why not try it?

I am one person who usually transfers funds between Binance and Bybit. The best Options to use are EOS or XRP since they support both coins
Binance charge withdrawal fee of 0.1 EOS (0.46 USD) and 0.25 (0.13 USD) for EOS and XRP respectively.

- Make sure you select the EOS and XRP main chain options when withdrawing from Binance and ignore the other BEP2 and BSC options because Bybit doesn't support them
- Remember to include the Memo for EOS and Destination tag for XRP alongside the deposit addresses generated from Bybit or else no deposit will be credited to your account.
- Bybit has an internal exchange you can use to swap you EOS or XRP back to BTC if you want.

If you are transferring Bitcoin from Binance you have to select Bitcoin network. Since the transaction fee is very high you convert your Bitcoin to other cryptocurrencies that have less transaction fee and that are being traded on the other exchange. I generally prefer Tron and EOS.

it will cost a lot for you if you will transfer via BTC address, why not try to use USDT TRC20 not only it's fast but it's cheap for the gas, I don't know if you tried it before but it seems to me its the cheapest way, to transfer funds going to other exchanges address, at least that's what I have found out, I have to find another workaround to save funds.
