Title: Is there a way to get back tokens or eth in a closed decentralised exchange?
Post by: ZWDesigns on February 19, 2021, 04:44:42 AM
I have sent few ETH & other tokens in some closed decentralized exchanges (Dex). They were transferred using myetherwallet. Is there a way to get those tokens back using myetherwallet? At the moment some dex sites are not working.

Yes if the DEX you used was an actual decentralized exchange, and also they might mentioned about moving the funds and tools required for it.

Name the exchange you are talking about for further help.

What do you mean?

If you want to transfer your coin from DEX to MEW you need to access your DEX and transfer it from there, you can't get back using MEW because cryptocurrency is irreversible.

I think you need to explain it more clearly what issue you faced.

I guess by "closed decentralized exchange" you mean the "decentralized exchange" is nolonger working?
Is it an established exchange, and Is it possible to contact the owner/owners of the address you sent the coin/token to & get them to send the coins back, assuming it's still your fund and you didn't pay the exchange for something.
I'm not sure there is anyway to reverse transactions on typical Blockchains without getting the address owner to send it back.

This has already been discussed somewhere on the forum, if the tokens are on a smart contract, then they can be returned from there back to your wallet. There is an instruction for the return of tokens from the closed exchange EtherDelta: https://www.reddit.com/r/EtherDelta/comments/ibsh7f/etherdelta_is_broken_info_faq/
