There is a start for everything , so i just get first time scammed and hope last time.
Since few times i follow polkadot env and liked their projects especially polkastarter . it's like the ico's for projects to raise money . I wanted to participate to one of them and got whitelisted to superfarm ($super) to buy in the presale at a good price but sended 0.25 eth to wrong adress . yes i'm little bit dumb they made a clone of their official telegram channel and i get caught . usually i don't do that but we all do mistakes .

i hope he will die  with a cancer . i lost $447.83USD that's 50% of my humble portfolio and i worked hard to put this money in . i know that there is nothing i can do and i feel little bit down but that's life assholes are everywhere . Whitout this scammers cryptocurrency and the world would be better .

That should be your last. Gather everything you did and find out where is the part you did mistake for you to get scam so that it will never gonna happen again because you learned from it. Scammers are everywhere here in crypto and just waiting for you to get caught by them, we must be very careful and vigilant as always.

Take this as a lesson learned for you because due to greed or carelessness and desperation on some situations you would really be most likely to end up like this.
This is why we should really be careful specially on inputting addresses or sending out funds.Dont rush up and be careful into your next actions.

It will be fine if you open scam accusations and post all proof which you have about them. It will not help you, but maybe you will save someone's else money.

If you often check the scam section there's always a warning about clone and phishing site and details of the sites and telegram groups, all members should always check the scam section if you are a serious investor and you should always do diligent research it will save you a fortune and your portfolio as well, you don't have to go through this scam if you take your time to do your research.

I also invested in a project that looked potential, but I lost a lot because the team left the project.

I mistake that I think you've your money lost because you didn't have further research of what you invest, giving at least a  couple of days before deciding to buy their ICO.  Scammers now also improved, they are smarter than us, but if we have extra diligence upon invetsing, we might not fall into the trap.

Dude, you should learn the lesson if admin will never pm you first and i think that the admin already putted this into his name on the telegram group. I feel like if you are getting fooled by the scammers because you didn't aware about that dude.

We do have all the same experiences when we get first scammed where frustrations and anger can be felt all in all but there's no point if you do just simply stood still and wont move forward.

Even @OP send to the right address, it means OP is still send to the scammer address. This wouldn't solve the problem with OP case here.

And for the second advice I agreed with you, before join/chat in outside platform you need to check/validity the originality by ask or go in through their official website/service.

Just like if you want to trade in this forum, someone send you a PM in telegram he said he is XXX, don't be tricked. Ask him for confirmation with his BTT account in a PM here, if he can't do it it's a scammer or impostor.

400+ USD is a big amount of money, In our place, you can already buy a motorcycle with it. That's what scammers do, fool people who do not pay attention if the site, group, is legit or just clone, fake. So sorry for the loss.

I agree you should be more careful on who you are dealing with not on the address, be sure that the one you are going to send is the contract address, you have a warning like that on Uniswap exchange, because so many scammers are creating clone or fake coin to deceive sender so always check who you are dealing with and are you sending to the right coin or token.

Wow it seems there's lot of people got scammed and send money to this address. Maybe people should start report and give a tag to this address on etherscan to prevent more people fell in the same hole.

Well, mistakes will give us a lesson to correct and be aware in the future. Ive been scammed, too by a particular person, too. Ive entrusted my fund with that person, probably a woman and gives me flowery words and make me trust her even more with those proofs she has shown me.

Just accept the fact that you lost that money. Since transactions are irreversible so you cant do anything abouy it except foe reporting his telegram account. I understand that you rarn thay money hard but moving on is the best thing to do. If their are losses, they will be upcoming gains double from how much you lose.

We can't do anything, because all of that has been carefully planned by con artists who have been like ghosts who are always in cyberspace looking for the next victim,,My advice is now to learn more to be calm and not make decisions too quickly, especially if there are links that we don't know hang sending us via our social media or email..

I was scammed many years ago back when bitcoin was $20. I needed groceries. My bitcoin was earned by doing some web work for someone and since I didn't have a job at the time I figured I could get a gift card off of this very website. I had received a gift card from him once so I trusted him and then the second time he gave me a used gift card number then disappeared. Now I think back about how that one $20 bitcoin is now worth 50 grand and I really hope his wallet is missing. I could have really used that money right now.

Since I joined the crypto community, telegram has indeed often become a hotbed for scammers to catch victims. That is why it is widely recommended to avoid telegram to make deals especially about big business.

I also had the same experience when I was beginning. Sometimes, we really have to go through things like that so we'll know what to do and what to avoid in the future. In telegram, no valid project would ask you for funds in telegram, and no admins would dm you for sales etc.  I hope you learn from your mistakes and make better decisions next time. If you miss out on private sale and public sale; you can always make purchases on the exchange after it is listed

It's ok it happens to the best . Just try not to FOMO into any Ico or don't follow any links. Go through twitter or the official website links . If in doubt pull out of the ico.

scammers are always looking for their victims in any way. no matter old people or new people. when there is an opportunity they will definitely use it to earn money. I've had experiences like you. and that makes me really stupid. but believe me, do not panic and immediately build a new plan to correct our mistakes.

There are tons of scammers on telegram and it's 100% unsafe for newbies that knew too little about crypto investment, next time make sure you go through the project official website to find their real telegram channel link, anyone trying to PM you on telegram is 100% a scammer even if they used the project team pictures, you need to be extremely careful with telegram

We all have our shares with this kind of experience.
Before I was not just scammed but also hacked. He didn't stop at just getting the money or the coins. He went overboard by taking everything including the account.

Its really frustrating when something that you worked hard for is just gonna benefit other people instead of you and I really hope you would encounter scammers in the future. You really should also try and stop contacting people through Telegram if they have an account within the forum. Telegram is just for updates within campaigns because if a person tries to contact you Telegram there is a 60% chance that the person talking to you is not real.

Sometimes lessons can become very costly and you know people lost in millions for such simple tricks but here you are in hundreds which maybe a big amount of money for you but you learned from it and you may never repeat it so just think that you saved millions in your future.

I am sorry to hear this, very unfortunate that the "world" of cryptocurrency has spawned so many different scammers and types of scams.  I am a financial advisor so sniffing out financial scams is something I am trained to do and let me tell you I've ran in to countless types of cryptocurrency scams, some good and some not so much.

Cloning and phishing is the new subtle means by which scammers fraudulently steal unsuspecting newbies their hard earned coins personally I nearly fell victim of a cloned address after discovering that my laptop was vulnerable I could have mistakenly sent my coins to the address it was my diligence and patience in rechecking the address that reveal the fraud, the bottom-line is that scammers and hackers are getting sophisticated in their operations on daily basis its up to every crypto users to take extra caution in handling their coins especially via telegram which is one of the social media used by these fraudsters to perpetuate fraudulent activities.

To be honest this type of scame is already has been done many times from 2017 when the first time ICO got hype through ethereum platform. And that yime scammer will copy paste their ethereum wallet to ICO's Slack Group and million of dollar vanished. Are you new in this crypto world ?

It is a very good habit of double checking the address like matching the first and last few characters at the very least before making the transaction because there is absolutely no way to get the coins back. I have had similar incident in past where no matter what address I would copy it would copy a pre-determined address, I don't know to whom it belonged but I had to install windows again to get rid off the problem.

Scamming that happens on telegram is mostly by impersonators and there is only one way to ensure avoiding these scams, just never send money to someone before you verify they are the right owners and the contract address is correct. I haven't felt to these kind of scams but the number of messages I get from scammers and impersonators makes me understand why so many guys fall for it.

This is really bad, but all the same, give thanks that it's not more than that, I have a friend who through this same clone thing lost over $70,000 usd just like that, he actually gave them his 12 word seed and they login into his wallet and withdraw all he had worked for over 4 years to save, if not for the help of people around, he wanted to commit suicide, this happened in 2018 and till now, my friend is not back into crypto yet cus to him, it's hard to forget.

There are tons of scammer nowadays, we will need to learn from our experiences. There are many ways that fraudsters will use just to get easily our money. I was once been a victim too when crypto just started and ICO were too popular , luckily I didn’t put too much money but it’s still a hard earned money that been wasted due-to this fraudster. We should be careful and don’t let same mistakes happen again.

I know how you feel right now, because I was in your shoes before I experienced frustration from the hands of the scammers in the areas of investment. It reduced my income to zero level at the moment which took me over three years to recover from the loss.
Since i experienced such things from the scammers, I learnt my lesson never to invest in the hands of scammer and it will hard me to invest in a place, I will not achieve something good from my investment. Before I invest in any altcoin I always carry out my personal research to know if it will bring good result at the end of the business or not before investing on a particular project.

Usually, when it comes from discord, Twitter, or any other social media platforms you need to double-check everything especially if links came from it, I also fell from someone on discord thinking that it is the same website from a private message, he is also in the same channel and gives me a pm, I see the same website but its a clone or a phishing website and I put my private key on it luckily I don't have funds on that wallet.

This is also why I rarely join ICO or presales because of the sketchy websites that is look like a fake one, before I join one I double check everything and look in the internet if its a trusted project.

If not being scammed, lost money with ICO or IEO or in any type of these crowdsourcing campaigns. I was not scammed but lost money in one of the ICOs before. Thought that everything was fine as they even had their members disclosed in the public. But maybe, they didn't have the intentions to screw their investors, but they were not successful with their platform. And so they failed, and investors lost money. One way or another, we will lose some in this crypto journey. And that will be a learning lesson for us not to make the same mistakes again.

It is sad to hear people falling for scams but you did not mention how you send money to random people, they contacted you in social media and you readily sent the money thinking it is a legit one. There are a lot of scams happening in Telegram where people are posing as legit groups and approach you in private and try to convince they are the legit team especially when you contact any team support in the legit support channel you will get multiple private message claiming to be legit representatives.

People try to create duplicate or fake accounts so rampant nowadays, it's not a rare sighting for us to find these fake accounts swarming some popular figure's tweets and projects.
That's why you should double check everything that you trying to do in crypto space. Heck, everytime I pasted an address I'd check it like 5 times because i'm aware the existence of malware that replace address within clipboard.

There had been a lot of scam in telegram, I once followed Polkadot channel so that I can get updates from time to time. Every time I open it, there are a lot of invites from Polkadot channels that are replicated, announcing they have an airdrop or send an "X" amount and receive x2. I always check any official announcements and even before joining any presales I check the link, website, news, etc. It's true there is nothing you can do, make your experience count and learn from it.

There should be a feature or a way for users to distinguish telegram group from a fake and official for real, this scamming activities already get out of hand so many random spam group and scam group appearing everyday, atleast if there's like badge for the official project group it could atleast reduce the confusion but nah, telegram simply ignore these scammer and gives them too much room.

The only way to determine if you are in the right social media, like Telegram and Twitter which is common that all projects have. You can visit their official website and below you will see the linked social media of the company. Sorry for the loss of OP, that is unrecoverable because every transaction in cryptocurrencies is can not be recover. Nevertheless, this is one of the good examples that we must avoid.

I know how it feels to lose an amount like that. Since there is no chance of recovering it, take it as a lesson learned. I was scammed many times long before I was introduced to crypto and blockchain. I was scammed by phishing emails before, which I ended up losing my savings and in complete depression. But on the brighter side, I have learned and calling experience as the best teacher.

That is why I do not use telegram anymore as I heard from my friends that if we use telegram, people can easily add our account to their groups without asking permission, although we can set it up in our account. But still, that can be too risky because we never know if that group is really helping us make money or just want our money. Getting first time scammed is very frustrated because I already got that experience in the past, but that does not make me stop making money from crypto as I am trying to stay away from something that I think suspicious.

Very very sad one. This won't happen to you again. There are tons of Telegram scammers in every project group and thats how they work. Just know that anyone asking you fkr money to solve a problem in any project is a scammer. Project admin won't send a direct message first to ask for money.

The best advice is to  not forget how you feel about it now, hopefully you wont be in that position again. Use it as a lesson to carry with you. Im still pissed about being scammed back in 2014 out of what is now a shit load of bitcoin. Unfortunate experience I also encounter like this one in Uniswap but I always ask on official group of a project Im investing the correct smart contract, there are many of them everyday creating fake projects you can even count fake similar tokens everyday same Project names if you did not research carefully you might end up like Op so always be careful. 

Also in Tron they will send you airdrop token with complete details including website and when you visit that website you will see the interface just like Uniswap with swap function but beware instead of swaping the button will just send your tusdt or tron into scammers wallet.

I really sorry you've lost your money but don't do such silly things anymore. You shouldn't believe to all information that is put in telegram channel especially connected with buying tokens. There's always a possibility to be caught by scammers. There are official sites of bounty campaigns and different projects. Use them to buy tokens/coins, but be again patient and always check URL before entering the site, even if you enter exchange site.

There are a bunch of scammers in the telegram group and that will become a disaster when you are not aware of this dude.
Telegram is very well known as the place with so many scammers. Scammers are very active in searching the new victims.

Yes, there a lot of scammers in telegram and I experience it again yesterday. They will chat you if you have problem with any of the token. I experience it in pancakeswap and after I joined them and ask some help. A lot of people ask me what happen and they told me to send some ETH to the address they give so that they will give back my tokens. One of them told me to send to them my private keys to manually recover the tokens but I didn't give them. I know they are scammers and I'm okay with the tokens does not send back to my wallet rather than give them my private keys.

This is a lesson learned for you... hope this kind of scam wont get you again.. Telegram is the home of scammers, tehy are good at imitating supports or administrators

Almost everyone who is new to crypto goes through the scam phase as many of them see that earning profits in crypto is easy. but they are wrong because there is a high risk behind it. it can be used as a lesson for @OP to be more careful. I myself have several times experienced fraud in ICO cases or unclear tokens. I have stopped it for 2 years buying altcoins that do not have a clear concept and team

Once you're scammed or fooled, that's the end for your holdings. The least thing you can do is to learn from what happened and to avoid not being a victim again. If there are possible ways to regain your losses, do every bit of it but as you are trying to get yours back, never forget what brought you into such situation. With that, you'll be wiser next time. Scam projects and the likes won't stop as long as there are people who are still falling for their scheme. Always make precautions such as asking to other people if something is bothering you or simply if you are not sure with what you are doing. That won't cost you much.

It is gone and we have to move on. It gives us learning not to fully give trust to someone we know online unless if you have a lot of transactions done before. Because mostly scams happen in telegram group, someone pretending to be good and be consistent with what he/they promise but once your trust got caught, that will be the time they start to demand you and finally scammed thing to happen next.

Just invest xxx and I give you returns twice, it a common scam trick and most newbies had become a victim this broken and very attractive offerings.

I remember when I first got scammed and it is really not a nice feeling, doesn't matter how great or newbie you are in the crypto world you could always get scammed because there are zero indications of being a scam beforehand for most of them, obviously there are some that you know but you do not get scammed by those anyway, there are Nigerian prince scams and not like we get scammed about those because those are definitely simple stuff we are well aware of but there are still a lot of ponzi schemes that change brand and shape and people still believe that, just offer people 10% monthly return and give them that money for a few months and suddenly people will think that you are legit, they will all call you ponzi for the first few months but when you are capable of offering people that return for let's say 1 year, suddenly you are legit and a ton of money will come in and you could still scam even the veterans.

Always follow the official website or links do not try to open by typing that can lead to a phishing link.

Not only telegram but almost all of the popular platform there gonna be some scammers. even twitter right now is full of so many scammers and youtube too with all the fake conversation about fund manager created by some bots. What we don't know and is not proven from this post is if this is actually a scammer. If you can prove this is an address of a scammer perhaps you can try contacting Tether and ask for advice, since the accused account has recently sold most of the ETH and switched to USDT. Tether has previously frozen USDT funds in accounts of hackers and perhaps if there is clear evidence this account is scamming, then it can take this decision again.

Take this experience as a lession and be careful for next time. never send any funds to anyone Via DM. there will be a lot of people pretending to be official team members of projects. but they are just impersonators and you have to be smart to spot the impersonators. real team members will never ask for money via DM.

You are absolutely right, if the scammer deposits the coins into the exchange, we can report it, but it seems that you have to follow the legal procedures in force in the country the exchange is in.

Polkadot is an excellent project and I wouldn't be hesitant investing such amount myself but yeah what happened with him was unfortunate to say the least and there are 100s of fake groups not just for polkadot or ICOs but even for exchanges like Binance. In fact if you guys noticed when Elon Muks tweeted about dogecoin there were some scam links spammed by fake IDs on twitter and a ;lot of guys must have been scammed by that fake giveaway.

Yes, a lot of scammers even waste time, I was talking to a potential scammer few days back on telegram and he seemed like a very nice guy who was trying to convince me that he has some trading skills by which he can earn a lot of ROI and lacks capital, I believed him and continued to listen his story. At the end of everything, he asked me, so how much you want to invest initially? I was like, man so much time and efforts you put into explaining to just bust yourself by asking for money.

Well, welcome to the club. There's always a first time to everything, scamming inclusive. What we should always hope on is for the first time not to be too much to wipe off our life savings. It's the price everyone pays for refusing to listen to their inner man. I had mine in 2017 when I started out in the crypto world as a noob. I saw the signs but chose to ignore them. Of course, even in your case, there were pointers to what gave the site away as fraudulent but you were in a haste to invest without doing your due diligence. I was curious to know how he got my keystore file that allow him to access MEW with the password. I installed malwarebyte and scan my laptop and discovered that my system has been infected with a malware called backdoor.teamviewer.trace this is a virus that allow hackers to have remote access to the files on my system. He gained access through it to all files on my system including my browser histories and stored password. This is how he got access. Do you know that there are more scammers on telegram project groups than real projects groups?, therefore it takes time for newbies to know exactly the faulty part of them, the failed path in them, confirmation of whitepaper either it's a plagiarised content or not, these researches may let you know if they are scam or not, so you could be careful enough to participate in their ICO.

And since we are exposed to online transactions, we can't sure that we are 100% guaranteed safe from scammers and hackers. They are around us and we might be a lucky person becoming their targets over a thousand/millions crypto users. That is why I usually don't make exchange talks to someone online, especially when dealing with investment. It is much better to use an exchanger if we wanted to buy coins, that will be safe.

There are a lot of scammers in telegram especially with Polkadot project. I had been invited by a Polkadot airdrop group several times and no matter how many times I report it as spam it keeps on appearing on my telegram account. I am careful when I am using telegram, this is a good platform to join crypto group but this is also home for scammers. Just be cautious.

Just avoid those kind of accounts that uses some womans picture and  out of the blue trying to reach out to you, it seems the scammer targetting people by impersonating someone and if you do that, you easily avoid 90% of the scam cases.

I also join other telegrams, and have quite a number of scammers who try to create similar telegram groups and make names like moderators or admins with the lure of airdrops. however, our vigilance must be extremely high in this matter. quite a number of people are deceived just because of the similarity of telegram and system.

why will those scammers make a simillar group to what you joined when you are already on the legit group ? they will easily got caught when they do that but they can make their selves as an admin or moderator if they created the group but it doesnt make them appealing if they have those status since you already know that they are scammers . i never get decieve in telegram because if i like a project and joined it i only joined the link that officialy came from their root source and not by searching inside the telegram

It is not particular to Polkadot project. Scammers will jump on anything. I even saw a post about a fake bitcointalk site..these guys are working real hard to step up their game. We just have to be smarter and careful with what we do. Telegram is flooded with scam groups..it has become a safe haven for scammers. They are quick to send a pm telling you of a life changing investment where you can earn x10 of your capital in hours lol..no jokes people fall for it.

Lots of people very often receive messages via different chats from so-called admins or supporters in order to get your data like wallet address or seed phrase. Or very often frauds make clone chats or accounts or addresses. That's why in this case it is a fraud and not scam, because it was not the project's fault, it was lack of your watchfullness. And the best way to protect yourself is to be extremely attentive. But you get the most valuable thing - experience, and the next time it wi be really hard to fraud you)) that is a good side of this situation.

I have recently applied a rule on Telegram that allows me not to waste time on scammers. I noticed that all suspicious people on Telegram, when writing to me, mostly just a greeting and nothing else. When someone talks to me with a real thing, they usually present it right away - if they don't, then they are out of luck, because I just ignore messages like "Hi", "Hello", "How are you". This is actually enough for now.

We have to act accordingly, being furious and always put our guards up is very important, lots of scammers are really good in what they are doing.

If you are not careful you'll just find yourself being victimized, don't bother to waste your time with social media especially in telegram where a lots of scamming are ongoing.

I am curious to know more about... how did you pick up a "wrong address"? it was just an error or you was meanwhile visiting some phishing website? More over, pay attention if you have some malicious software that is able to change an address after you have copied it, this has been a very common strategy for scam user ...

such situations are common in exchange projects. there is an incoming email on behalf of a project. we have to be more careful because scammers are always looking for loopholes.

I do that too and usually avoid any account with some shady profile picture, it's really unfortunate though telegram can't really stop these plague, I even have reported many accounts that are advertising scam phising website but telegram do nothing to them just letting them roam free scamming people maybe because the amount of accounts created by scammers are too overwhelming.

Yeah, I feel sorry for OP cause I know how they are feeling right now. I have experienced that once, though mine is a different story entirely. It happened when I was still new to cryptocurrency and I got my first crypto and was holding for sometime before I decided to sell it and being a newbie I didn’t know how I was going to sell it, crypto was still around my area and there wasn’t all this big platforms there so we had to use P2P trading as means to sell our cryptos and that is a high level of risk.

So, my first time trying it out I couldn’t figure out who was legit or not and I got scammed half of the coins I had. Trust me, I spent the whole year cursing out that asshole lol. Well I still got over it and worked hard and worked my way up. I wish you luck and try to be careful next time when dealing all these people. Avoid them as much as you can.

Exactly, I've seen some scammers go as far as creating linkedin profile and any other social media then they gonna use it in telegram group to increase their "fake" credibility as people assume if they have all the social media then they are the real person but that's not always the case and telegram banning isn't helping since creating a telegram account is really easy in some third world countries.
It's crazy how much these scammers put their effort into scamming activities like that.

Man that's actually crazy being robbed of $100K i doubt I could stay sane if I were robbed that much amount, however I do agree opening scam acussation prevents other people from getting scammed but it's not really helpful in the long run since the scammer could easily use fake ID rinse and repeat but the benefit still there I guess. i think we can also report certain address to blockchain explorer website owner so they could tag it as scam.

Sorry to hear that buddy, it is good that you post the sammer adress here, so no one else is going to fall for his scam. To be honest I think most of us here on the forum have fallen for a scam or two over the many years we have been involved with crypto currencies. It probably takes an event like yours where we lose our money to change our approach to trusting strangers on the internet. I remember when I first started out with bitcoins, I got scammed out of my facuet money which was around $10 back in the day, today it probably is worth more like $500. After such an experience I am now tripple checking everything before paying any services online.

This makes sense, however even though I am a normal person I just write "hello" or "hi" when I am starting a regular chat, it is sad to see that manners became something suspicious. I am not saying that you are wrong, many people these days do not greet each other when they first start talking so it is actually quite a good method to figure out who is real and who is a scammer, but it is also a sad fact that regular people do not greet each other before they talk to each other. If you ever end up talking with me on telegram and I say hello, do not assume I am a scammer :D.

I am just a polite person who learned that greeting someone and saying hello is good manners and that is how you start a conversation, you also ask "how are you" as well and even add "I hope you are doing ok" as well, those are things I say to start a conversation and then I write what I reached them for.

It's really difficult to see all of the scams out there scams are just everywhere these days. A lot of scams are in social media platforms like Twitter where the cryptocurrency community used to influence or cryptocurrency projects used. You could always start over again move on and start afresh investment but take this as a positive lesson to double-check everything before going for an investment or even for trade. Personally, something where I need to spend money I really double check or triple check everything unless it is something like Binance or some exchange that I already trust but for a sketchy looking website or investment website I always doubt it.

I hope it's your last too, sorry about having such experience, scammers cloning a project group during or before launch is normal now, and since they can't be stopped they just doing it hoping someone will fall a victim of their scam shits, i just hope you have learnt a few lessons this time about not rushing to send out money with confirming multiple times just to be sure you don't make any mistake, cuz once your crypto leaves your wallet its never coming back,becuz the transactions are irreversible, don't be frustrated just take your time don't think too much about what is gone, rather focus on what is left.

Fraudsters who use tricks to clone sites are sure to have their loopholes. Of course, real and fake sites are very different. it is our responsibility to protect your assets. critical, dyor, not greedy, and not easy to trust are traits that we must have.

This is why we have to be really careful about the new project. The chance to getting scammed is really high than we choose a project that being listed on the top exchange or at least a coin that is in top position in the market.

I have once time to be cheated, at that time I was tempted to the new project that give me instant profit per days. They call it as mining proccess, I bought a coin and safe it for mining and I'll get profit per days from the mining proccess. But, it was scam, I spend $600 and it is loss all of them.

New project will always do anything to attract new user, they make tempting offers with great returns. But at the end we will be regeretted against what we has done.

yeah, this is a very worthy experience for you ad also for us. You know, the scammer is everywhere in this cryptocurrency project. There will be many more types again of scammers that will probably reach you someday. So, itis better to know about the investment that is very legit. I am sure that many new projects will be coming (both the legit and also scam). that is why I suggest you better invest or make a short investment in top coins. or if it is a new project, better to put your money in IEO in a big exchange. There are some top exchanges that have launchpad for new projects and you can use this chance. And once more, never trust any investment with high profits instantly in the crypto world, because they will be mostly SCAM.

I've seen airdrops already of any types here in the forum and as well outside the forum through airdrop bounties.
It isn't just scammers that you would expect.
There are phishers and anything beneath those lines.
This is why I never tried anymore airdrops since.

I disagree a 1000% with that comment there, Yes the poster most have had his own fault but to me there is no reason what so ever to guarantee anyone to scam another out of their hard earn money because I was also a victim and not even from a telegram but from an exchange. Back then in 2017, even though I was a newbie to the cryptocurrency space, I didn't think an exchange would scam its users but that was what happened and I lost about $500 and that was a huge money to me also though I didn't wish whoever Bad illness like our poster here ;D but you can see how annoying it can be. I would rather ask for help in my bad situation than to result to scamming anyone.

Nope, they aren't in any way smarter. It's just that most investors/traders often fail to do their due diligence patiently coupled with the tendency of greed. Otherwise, how do you relate with a random stranger online promising you something free with little or no investment. If it isn't greed on the part of he who is trying to invest then I don't know what else it should be.

We can be knowledgable in crypto market without losing or being scammed by others or we can learn from others mistake. Sad to hear about what happened to OP. During the last 4 plus years, I was scammed multiple times. But eventually, we need to move on. For my part, I took these as valuable lessons in the field of cryptocurrency. There is not much we can do to get back the coins/tokens. These people wash the coins several times before cashing out through exchanges or P2P platforms. And you need a lot of time and resources to trace them.

Very true, I think most of us here experienced that. I nearly cried the first time I have been done. Good thing that time my girlfriend (now my wife) comforted me and chilled me out. there are many ways as hacker gains of login with the account. sometimes they are not modest on technicals but only depending with their chance as creating phishing site to collect information from failed users as inputing details with the phising site. i have experience once as accidently entering login to false forkdelta website.

The scammer trap through fake websites has been around for a long time and for now it doesn't seem to work anymore because everyone who has been tricked has started to look carefully at all websites so they can tell the difference.

You are supposed to have been counciled about these. Often times people come into the crypto space not knowing that loads of scammers are in to make money off the ignorant newbies and these newbies don't as questions. They end up facing collosal losses much worse than these but a consultant would have warned you about them for even a much lesser fee.

You know the basics of those good old notices that admins won't ask for your password and all of that.

I invested 0.1 ETH in PayPro token ICO.

Another crypto scam, I'm very sorry about your loss mate, I just hope you learn to cross check double or even triple times before sending out your crypto, cause scammers are fond of cloning Telegram groups of successful projects and then claim there's a giveaway which you need to send eth to a particular wallet in order to get the giveaway token, those are all nothing but scams, anything that seems too good to be true I will advise you tread with caution, cause there's a 95% person chance that its scam.

But somehow hackers can get another way to get information about accounts through other media, even though many people already know about web phishing, because after all in the digital world no one can guarantee that their data is safe from hackers

I'm also an investor on some ICO projects, but I always make sure to send money on the right address, so that kind of scam never happened to me ever since. The kind of scam I encountered was a when people behind the project run away with our money, no response or anything,  no refund, but I'm still glad I didn't put much of my money on that project (I'm also a noobie that time).

Well, these scammers will not be going anywhere as long as there is money they will be everywhere. The thing we can do regard this to be knowledgeable in order to outsmart them.  I hope this mistake would serve as a lesson for everyone. That is why we need to scrutinize all the projects that we are going to invest in before releasing our money because once you send them away there's no turning back, no way you can retrieve them. All you need to do now is to accept what happens and move on from it, at least you have felt how to be scammed you will now be able to tell the difference which is fraud or not. You can check scammer wallet on twitter or facebook social media because they have proof some time maybe joined some bounty campaign project or joining with airdrop, you can see their twitter account but if use new wallet and never any proof with bounty or airdrop project maybe very difficult to know the owner this address.

Even if you do know, then what would you gonna do? It would really be just useless if you are trying to investigate or locate it out and its better to move on rather than making yourself finding into something
which isnt really clear yet on whose behind those scams and hacking.

It doesn't really matter as you can't do anything even if you find out the scammer social media accounts or wallet addresses. Instead of crying and having regrets over spilled milk, it would a very much better to just come to terms thst what's lost is lost and move on. The prime focus should be about regaining what was lost.
