Title: RVN mining
Post by: lellopipoca on February 26, 2021, 09:06:23 AM
good morning, i have rx 470 4g graphics as well as rx 570 8g, as at this moment the RVN is profitable, and as the 4g graphics do not work in ETH, does anyone have the settings or suggestions for OC, suggestions for the miner ..

You could try Kawpowminer.
It has no dev fee.  :)

I'll leave you a link to the Russian forum.
You need to use Hive OS or similar OS for mining
Install a 4 gb video card in a 16x pci-e connector
Use lolminer V1.21
Additional parameters for configuring the miner:
Code:
--4g-alloc-size 4078 or --4g-alloc-size 4076

These parameters may be suitable.
Code:
--zombie-tune 15.5
--keepfree 8

Connect the 8 GB video card via the reiser.

@FP91G the lolminer configuration you dropped is it for ethereum mining on the AMD 4gb memory or for Ravencoin mining I'm confused since OP asked Ravencoin not ethereum or one needs this config on ravencoin miners to make the 4gb ones work?

As I have some old RX 4GB cards, I am interested, too. I'd like to find most efficient Raven miner and configuration for these card.
BTW What mining pools do you recommend for Ravencoin mining?

I use nanopool for raven, with this miner configuration:
1. TeamRedMiner
2. core clock 1100, memory clock 2100, undervolt 850-900, depend of your video card, hashrate around 13,5 mhs

what do you think about use nVidia GTX 1070 for Raven coin mining?
Will it be profitable to buy for about 500USD/item and with energy from solar panels  - average price about 0.08usd/kwh

Myself i will not buy for that price, that 1070 was around 160-220$. it is better wait, gpus will not be this expensive forever. For 1-1.5$ a day on raven for 500$ plus 0.08$ electricity it is insane.

If gpu's will be cheaper mining income will be much lower...

I have another Raven mining question, is it possible to mine Raven with 4GB RAM AMD RX cards?  Is it much more unefficient than 8gb version?

Right now 3gb or more works.
Efficiency should br affected until its over the size...

476 days to get the money back and we know this profitability will not stay this high for long because difficulty will rise or price will crash. Where I live they are selling a gtx 1070 for 550 usd, insane. I would not buy any gpu or coin right now, stay on usdt and wait things to crash, yeah prices can go higher than it is at moment but chances of going further down is high, altcoins crashed a bit but they are still very high, most altcoins rose 10x ~ to 100 times in price and yet when you check if they are profitable to mine it says is not ehhe, manipulation everywhere or asics just placed in to conform with the price in.

Yes you can. i have 2 rx 470 4g cards left they are on raven doing 11-12mhs each with 120-130w on the wall.

I have another question. Is it possible to mine RVN with a 1050TI? I got like 14 of them eating dust. I only see miners supporting Cuda 9.2 and up. and these are Cuda 9.1 as far as i know.

Yes only need 3gb right now so 1050ti can mine for a few years.  T-Rex works fine on 1050ti.

For someone who cares more about electricity bills I don't think it makes any sense, 12mh per gpu at 120watts isn't profitable unless one has free electricity, ProgPowz algorithm is still a bit better on rx470, you will get 1.32$ per day @8.4MH mining Zano coin which is using ProgPowz algorithm at 103 watts
