Title: I'd appreciate some help with my portfolio
Post by: Melt09 on February 28, 2021, 02:18:23 PM
Hello.
Right now my portfolio includes:
ZIL - 34%
COTI - 32%
REEF - 21%
ADA - 13%

How would you rate it based in your experience? I did alot of reading before buying this coins but except cardano the rest underperform. Im a new investor and i bought all of my coins a week ago when everything was on peak..
Would you suggest some changes or something else to look for?
Should i sell any of these?
Thanks in advance!!

I'm happy you have done a lot of research which is the actual thing you should have done before investing in some certain alternative coin, you have been convinced by what you read that's why you choosed those coins except ADA and it's good to go with it right?
Advising you to leave those coins will eventually make you loose hope on what you have researched, so the best advice to give an investor is to do proper research before investing, since you've already done that, go with it, they are all nice coin.

You sell if you are in profit but if you think that portfolio of yours isn't doing good or any of the coins you hold isn't performing well, you can sell it for bitcoins.
The coin that you need to have is bitcoin and if you want another altcoin, I'll add Ethereum or BNB on it.

I am only familiar with ADA, ZIL, and COTI. Based on your portfolio, I would suggest higher percentage in ADA. I will also suggest investing with cryptos having huge names because those are the ones which are having a bigger tendency to recover especially at this moment wherein the market is filled with red marks. Selling some of your crypto holdings should depend on your market analysis because it is you who will earn from your investments, and likewise in order to avoid regrets from depending too much with other's opinion. You may use the recommendations as a guide but do not allow those things to dictate your actions.

I always advice anyone that BTC is a must have in ones portfolio, no matter how the market is performing, you design a portfolio and leave out the major asset that has a dominance of 60%, if BTC moves the market must always react, also no blue chip Altcoins in the list, BTC and Blue Chips Altcoins should be 70% of the portfolio and the remain should be small cap projects because they have the potential to move up very fast and give huge gains likewise their price can go to zero

I just curious about what makes you try to buy COTI we have known this as a bad coin. BTW you should replace it with a better coin that can give you more potential.
The rest look very good coins. What you need to do to replace your non potential coin with another one that can give you a lot of money.
You must aware if we are in the bearish trend. You should not expect a lot from your portfolios

you should add some bitcoin. I don't want remain so much expose with only altcoins. It's very hard achieve a profit and most of them have just a low market cap. If you have already realized a profit, think about add other altcoins.
I don't know if you have collected your coins with airdrop or taken from the market but I will try to add at least some staking coins like Cosmos or even Waves.

One of the rules in crypto I've discovered over the years is that you are never really in loss until you decide to sell, when you eventually sell below your buying price, that's when you should conclude on your losing, but as long as you are still hodling, there's still a good chance that you could get your money back plus good profit if you are patient enough.
All you have to make sure of is that you bought or invested in a good and legit projects, ones you are sure of this, just give it time, you will for sure smile to the bank.

Bad timing for buying at peak so you actually buy high and thinking right now to sell at low because market is bleeding? Not a good idea mate, don't ever sell your crypto at loss at bull market wait for another pump it will for sure pump again you need patience in crypto very important to put this in mind to all newbies to have a huge profit you must learn how to hodl.

In essence, altcoin have trend-based movements, so to avoid shortcomings your portfolio always manages regularly and is also alert for declines. besides, ADA has been experiencing good growth lately, so it should be checked, maybe it will be corrected again. before that happens, take advantage of the profits while you have the opportunity.
then, end with bitcoin as a whole. altcoin only for the short term.

I didnt have good information about your coins, but as long as you divide your portfolio to more than 3 coins its a good thing.
But the one that i thing will have a good future in your portfolio is ADA, you probably can add the percentage of that coin.

It looks pretty good but I would put some in BTC like 25% cause it usually overperforms altcoins unless they go x10. Rest looking good ADA is still a steal even at this price since they will go up with upcoming news.

Honestly, I don't think I can give a very correct opinion about your  portfolio, because I'm not familiar with some of the coins you've chosen, but I'm sure of one thing and I highly recommend it: don't sell before you make a profit.

You built your portfolio during a bullish market, and now the market is undergoing adjustments and prices are falling, but this is a temporary and normal phenomenon, so my advice is to wait until a new price increase starts and then sell your coins and invest in new ones if you want.

Thanks to everyone that contributed to the thread.
I see many people commenting about "poor man coins" or "get rich quick coins". I agree to an extent that's why i am here looking for suggestions and potential help.
The reason i decided to go with these coins is that they can provide good gains. I know it is high risk but the reason that i didnt invest in btc/eth and good coins is because my initial investment is not that much and btc or eth wouldnt give me good profit.
My intention was to increase my profits with alts and then switch to btc/eth/bnb etc..
Maybe my strategy is bad.. i dont know cause I'm new.
Thank you all again!! I would love more constructive opinions!!

You can get some tips from those suggestions but at the end of the day, it is you who will finally decide which ones you will keep. But it is good to read some thoughts and opinions of other people and see for yourself if it is applicable in your current situation. I am only familiar with ADA project based on your list. But if you do your own research on the other coins, you are on the right track.

Of all the coins of your choice, there is only ADA that you have to keep and don't sell any time soon. Because I believe ADA's price will be very high
at the end of this year, holding ADA is the right decision. Then ZIL, COTI and REEF are among the projects that in my opinion have a high risk.
Because it is not among the top 10 cryptocurrencies, so the volume of the three coins is quite low, so there is a risk of the price being dumped
in the future. I recommend replacing ZIL, COTI and REEF with other coins which are among the top 10 cryptos.

If you are planning to hodl it in long term way, those token in your list is very promising and has a great potential to pump and fly to the moon especially ADA. ZIL, COTI and REEF is just a newly created project that is very promising and I have a strong feeling that in the longer run it will have plenty of innovations and development that will definitely boost up its value in the marketplace.
