Title: How to find an old transaction in ETH block explorers?
Post by: StahlKrupp on March 04, 2021, 02:20:08 PM
Hi,
i desperately need some help:

i bought the Erc20 token XDCE in 2019 on an exchange and hold it there until a week ago..
now i need the transaction hash oft that purchase as a proof for buying...
how to obtain that proof or TX hash? the exchange where i bought (p2pb2b) provides only date, amount, price in my trading history..

and ETH explorer etc. is not helping, donīt know how to find the old transaction (the buying) there...
tried the XDCE explorer as well but it seems to be impossible because i donīt have any search options for date..
with the deposit adress alone itīs not working.

If OP buy any coin/tokens into any exchange and hodl there, than there won't any transection hash if that's a centralized exchange. As centralized exchange only triggered any transection when users made any trade after depositing and it transfered those coins/tokens from the providing address into the hot wallet of that exchange or in that time when users made a withdrawal request after doing trade of that coins/tokens and it transfered that coins/tokens from hot wallet to that user's personal wallet. So, it might be quite difficult to say if that exchange don't have any other functionality like trade/order number to track or others. But i'll suggest others to stay away from p2pb2p exchange as it's a shady one, IMO.

LOL there is no hash transaction on a centralized exchange for buying or transacting the token you only get that information on every exchange. The hash information is only for withdrawal and deposit activity.

There is no hash buying or transaction on the exchange, you only have that information you are mention.

if you bought XDCE in centralized exchange i'm not sure if you can find the transactions hash from your buying actions mate
except you bought xdce in decentralized exchange,
by the way you can find about your transactions in trading/transactions history on centralized exchange

You should ask the team from the scam site again, we know that if p2pb2b is the scam exchange sites. There is no tx hash in centralized exchange site and it might be if they were asking your deposit tx hash maybe.
That's non sense asking the txhash when you are using centralized exchange site. be careful that exchange site probably wanna scam

It's impossible to see an hash on a centralized exchange cause their server are not made that way. Like other said you would only see the tx hash on the deposit and withdrawal since its necessary for them to show it as validation proof of the clients. Anyway, the only thing you can do is ask them to give you information about it since you are a client and you have rights to ask for that.

You only can trace your past transactions if you have your ETH addresses or ERC-20 addresses. If you have your address, you can use any of these ETH block explorers to trace.
(Compilation) What is the best Ethereum explorer? (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5153067.msg51426447#msg51426447)

As was said by others, you don't get txhash from your filled buy orders.

with the deposit adress alone itīs not working.
You can only check your trading history page and export it if possible.

What happened with that exchange?
What happened with your account on it?
What is the XDCE token? I can not find it on P2PB2B.io exchange, on coinmarketcap or coingecko.

go to the p2pb2b exchange and find the history transaction where you bought that token. I'm sure there will be a record of your history inside your account. this won't include hash/tx ID but just a record like the time, amount and number of tokens.

or maybe ask the support as well whether they can provide hash for the transaction. i'm not sure if they do have this kind of record but it will be great if they can provide it for you.

Did you read the thread, he got the information transaction on history like date and everything but he wants something like TX Hash for solid proof. Centralized exchange doesn't have any hash link TX dude.

Ok thank you all.

I think maybe you can ask the exchange to create some letter for you about the transaction if they can do that, or you just screen capture video of the history buying token and refresh it a few times to make sure is legit.

You bought the tokens on a centralized exchange and it credited to your account means everything happening on offchain, the token you bought stays there where it was even after you bought it, and you will have the transaction has if you withdraw the token to your wallet or send it to someone externally on chain transaction.

you can try to get it through the transaction history. I guess when you are opening the main tab and it will be available below the trading box. I guess there are some tabs and one of these tabs were the transaction history. You can try to check it dude. You can also go to your spot order tab maybe if there's

Every exchange allows the users to download their trading history data in the pdf or other format so user can use this for tax accounting or any other purposes.
