Title: DAG failure
Post by: TheMimic1 on March 05, 2021, 04:33:19 PM
I'm getting DAG verification failed, invalid 100% on rx580 8gb mining ethereum with NBminer, any solution to this?

What size memory is the card.

As far as I know the 4GB cards are useless for ETH mining now.

You overclock the memory clock too much  >:(, careful mate you can end up killing that memory, anything over 2150 Mclock on a rx580 is overkill for the GPU memory, restart your miner if its still the same you will need to restart your PC and go to lower Mclock

many of my gpus have more than 2150 mem clock for over 3 years and they running.

Ultimately depends if you have decent samsung or shitty hyinx memory in the card.

Exactly after years under so much oc it can fail. i keep mine on 2070 and 2050. nearly same what i get with 2100-2150.

Well that and as the dag grows you may need to reduce slightly to keep stable.  Just because the card was stable when the dag was smaller as it grows in size you will run into little issues which will require trimming back the OC.  Usually a very modest decrease in OC will do it.

You may have problems with your graphics card drivers. Older drivers did not support a Dag file larger than 4 GB.
Update AMD drivers. I have drivers from October or November 2020.
Or see the versions of compatible drivers in the instructions for your miner version.
And increase the size of the Virtual Memory (Pagefile) In Windows.
