Before I joined Bitcointalk, there were many false information I know about bitcoin, and yet thinking I know better than many, but unknowing it was just the begin of a novice becoming better. At the time, I thought bitcoin transactions were anonymous, thinking also bitcoin needs 10 confirmations, just using the wallet I like, not know if open source or close, custodial or noncustodial. My first wallet was coinbase.com, didn't know anything about private key, not to talk of seed phrase. Using legacy address for transactions, not even knowing segwit, a way to reduce bitcoin transaction by 42%. Thought I knew many until I joined this forum, Bitcointalk. This forum exposed me to reality, started to know not all online are true, seeing online false information like passphrase, a mean of encrypting seed phrase, which is word extension that lead to another seed generate entirely. Not only that, and a lot more.

I join Bitcointalk on March 07, 2020, started learning about the forum and knowing how merit is a fuel that also makes people feel among, not only about joining campaign as I saw ranked members that joined no campaign, but as for me have a mission to fit myself into a good campaign and of which merits and ranking are needed. I have to browsed about merit to know how it works out, and checking recent merited topics, that was where I got my idea from, and researched about bitcoin to construct topics. My first topic was merited, my second was too and started to learning from ranked posters with quality thread posts and getting more merits, knowing more about the forum.

I really appreciate members that do not neglect my account, seeing some of my post useful, it may not be to them, but to Bitcointalk members generally, because I do think one thing, that I started knowing about bitcoin in 2019, what will I know compared to guru that have joined some years back, which means some members do look into post seeing useful to public and merit which may not even be useful to them but useful to the public. Also to all that have seen my post useful and contributed to my ranking up, I also acknowledge you all.

BPIP Metalog
I do check BPIP profile, the metalog award is another thing I like, to be the most merited daily 5 times within this period. I like it also because it is not based on the total merits received but based on the total number of people that merit a particular post which makes it more accurate.

Upcoming members
If others can do it, you can do it
Think of appropriate ways not to be stagnant. If you can not fly, walk. If you can not walk, crawl.
Believe in determination, patience and opportunities
Have passion to know more about bitcoin and this forum generally
Make yourself useful, with this, you will be relevant
Admit to corrections from ranked members
Learn (read) more than posting*, forum threads are so useful
Do not post about what you do not know, do not guess
Try to be better than before
Not forget not to spam not plagiarize
Keep to other rules of Bitcointalk

Impressive record and contributions mate. I've recognized your ability to discuss and impart some useful topic here on forum and you deserved it. Congratulations, this could be still early but you can learn more in the long run. Don't stop learning and helping newbies cause thats the essence of becoming a user here in forum.

Thanks for the kind words, there could probably be something attached to quality posts on this forum, but it must primarily be and focus on contributing to the usefulness of this forum in learning, helping one anothers and newbies in bitcoin, crypto related and some other related matters, that is a good point that should not be forgotten but always be in our mind as the point of us to be useful to the community.

Congratulations Charles-Tim, you have really contributed a lot to the bitcoin community on this forum in the last year.
I have been following you from the beginning and I'm really impressed with your progress and achievements.
You are really a very good example and inspiration for all newbie who complain that it is difficult to get merits and progress on the forum.

Congratulations to you Charles-tim, your are an energy god, a year old and it's looks like you have aged so much out of Crypto-currency knowledge, I anticipate your post sometimes, because it's like a feed of what's making the rounds in crypto-currency news, happy one year to you and cheer to many more fruitful years ahead of you.

Very well done Charles-tim, there are many high ranking usernames which appear
on the forum which I dont recognise and ive been on the forum since 2017, but you
are a familiar member, you are a good asset to the forum and are getting rewarded.

I was also on the receiving end of quite a lot of misconceptions I had in my head about Bitcoin, from the thought that Bitcoins were stored in a wallet (to later understanding that it's the blockchain that stores our BTC), to my erroneous view of Bitcoin as a "get rich quick scheme'', and so many other misconceptions, but just like yourself OP, I've come to understand more than what I even actually bargained for, thus I understand the point you're trying to make exactly.

An absolute Congratulations to you OP, what you've been doing in and around the forum is good, and just as is expected, the rewards/benefits of your efforts are there for all to see, well done mate, you can no doubt also do much better I'm sure.

I admire this guy for being an active user here on our forum we have the same phase or just a month ahead of when we start we both a newbie but I saw him already creating a lot of good content threads even still right now this serves as a good quality member and poster I think right here I would like to congratulate yours for reaching enough merits too to reach the Hero member road to legendary member. Congratulations to you. What you have achieved in this one year is definitely what you deserved. The amount of merit you have already earned is almost as much as the required merit of the legendary rank. I hope you will get that amount of merit very soon. You must be rewarded for what you have contributed to this forum, because when you are rewarded enough for your contribution, you will be interested in doing something better. Many new members give up at first because they can't earn merit, they should follow you and prepare themselves to do something good.

It's just a year and you've been awesome all the way through your contributions and achievements as it could be seen in your many awards in the BPIP.org and you stand as a motivational figure to others with the need to build something valuable out of their accounts. I remembered your merit giveaway (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5237287.0) in wish I was in the first position of winners (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5237287.msg54169286#msg54169286), thanks to my PM which you replied and encouraged me, all was blank to me at the time and seemed impossible, but became reality.

I remembered some of us at the time, I do not want to mention other names among us at the time ranked up so fast to next rank, we were all indeed the newbies of 2020 that proved to people saying Bitcointalk ranked members are not favoring newbies, we were there newbie 2020 but now ranked up at being senior members, I always respect your account too and some others that opened account in 2020, I just do not want to mention names.

Congratulations Charles-Tim. You have an excellent rate of advancement in rank on the forum. A great example for all the nagging newbies who complain that it has become impracticable to rank up. . I already told you that you will achieve a lot, and I was right. I am pleased to understand that here on the forum there are people like you, who are not indifferent and are constantly studying something and helping others. Massive Congratulations @Charles-tim on your 1 year-in-service hereon the forum. As you already know, it's a feat, one that isn't easy to achieve so its a big one. I say so because a lot of people would have opted for the easy way out - that is, to quit and move on with their life because it's not really easy to scale through some of the hurdles in the forum. For instance,  there's a wealth of information and knowledge here such that it's very easy to get overwhelmed. Also, getting merits to attain higher ranks is tiresome especially for new years. The good thing here is that, you came, met these challenges and still went on to conquer various ranks. To top it up, you're still firing on all cylinders.

Congratulations once again. I'm sure a lot of people would be inspired and motivated by your story.

Your congratulations really worth it, I know how merit can be difficult to give as even there would have been some good posts already on ground to merit, I understand even if no merit awarded me. I know you as a scam and spam buster but you always speak good of me which is a significant reason many other people to believe in my work on this forum, I appreciate your kind words.

No other reasons behind it than following the rules, having passion for bitcoin and this forum generally which also helped me to know how to use bitcoin safely and ways to avoid scam.

Being in this forum and staying consistent making some contributions to the forum will certainly not be easy. especially if you start in 2020 which is certainly more difficult because you have to really start from scratch with the merit system that is applied. I see you have provided all kinds of thoughts and good contributions to this forum. It's not easy to reach your current position, many new members in 2020 or the previous year gave up with the situation and were unable to get up and continue to grow. Once again, congratulations on achieving your 1 year on this forum.

Impressive, you are even faster than I imagined. You deserve all of this because of the qualities you have. This has been a great first year for you as there are only a handful of users who can match your current milestone. You know, people love and appreciate what you write and have helped you earn 900 merit for your first 1 year. @CryptopreneurBrainboss has contributed a lot to you and he's been the most users submitting the merit to you. It's great when people really value the effort, quality and knowledge we have. Congratulations on your good result. There are not many people on this forum who have earned about a thousand merit in 1 year. Don't dwell on merit, try to have 2,000 merit in a year.
All haters say that forums are dying, but it's very good that new users appear on the forum, who can achieve high results in a year.

1 year is not a short time, it is a good achievement given the very tight forum conditions and it is very difficult to move up the rankings for some newbies who joined when the merit system was implemented.
You are able to survive and develop into a member that has both quality and quantity, contribute to the forum by providing some very useful information and opinions.
But you have a long way to go and it's still the beginning. It still took a few more merits to reach Legendary and be at the top.
it was amazing when it took only 1 year or more to reach the highest Rank.

You are one of the most dedicated and hard-working members on the forum who takes out their time and effort to help other members wherever they can and it's no surprise you've gotten this number of merits within the short space of time as it is only a reflection of what you put into the forum. You are a very valuable member to the general forum and also to the Nigerian community.

Potential legendary member in about a year is very impressive, and who knows if theymos does implement a new rank for users above 1000 merits, you could be in line for that.

Good to see that you have already spent 1 year in this community. Hopefully you have learned a lot of things from here which will help you expand your upcoming days in bitcointalk. Reaching a milestone is a always so special and only he/she can feel the taste who worked had to enrich his knowledge vault. Spending 1 year in Bitcointalk is not so easy and much hard is to continue the activity like past. Whenever you start to learn new things it automatically put responsibility on you to help other newbies and make contribution for the forum. 

Anyway, Congrats! for your 2 year journey and i wish it will be much smoother in upcoming days. Keep your eyes open and engage yourself where you feel it necessary. 

Always knew you had it in you buddy, keep it up. Quality doesn't hide, now just wish we had a local board to interact more maybe the celebration would had been more suitable in there and your posts serve as motivation to other locals. I'm getting tired of the english board especially as I don't have much time to go through the discussion been discussed there and majority are already tackled topics.

Now you guys are two on the way to legendary from our local community, both @Upgrade00 and you has showed great quality to be awarded the highest rank on the forum (currently). Just keep up the good works and who knows the reward would even be better than you expected.blike getting the recognition you deserve for your quality contributions etc.

Just so you know, the works begin now that you're getting to the top as it takes twice the effort to stay at the top. You have to improve your quality and not relex. Subconsciously self made high ranked users posts are tagged quality so you have to live up to that standard and don't forget to enjoy it all as you make it a hobby.

Yes, you are right that if other people can do it, so can you. Here is really a hard slap for those of us who are complacent about the current achievements. Or for those of us who find it difficult to increase rank again, like what happened to me  :)
