They claim to have fixed the issue - unfortunately for me - I'm still not receiving email authorizations to login to my wallet, which I haven't received for about 3 weeks now...

Just another one of those many reminders as to why users have to avoid using the old fashion web wallets that require one to sign up using email addresses. Users should also always back up their seeds just in case the service goes offline.

Did you back up your seeds? If yes, just import your account in electrum and ditch blockchain wallet for good.

They claimed now that this problem/issue has been resolved.

Resolved - This incident has been resolved.

Update - We are continuing to work on a fix for this issue.

There's nothing change to this web wallet, it's always a buggy wallet, and anytime there are unexpected unknown errors from its users.
Poor customer supports and has different issues, I don't think why there are newcomers still using them which is prone to that risk and might losing their fund or longer time to wait for the transaction.

Open-source wallet still the best.

It is already a sign to switch to other Bitcoin wallet.
I think why there are still lot of people using this Bitcoin wallet is because first, user friendly. New in Bitcoin will attract to this Bitcoin wallet since it is very easy to create, email address only which they don't know using centralized or custodian wallet is really not good.

I lately see that problem with email. It's on your account's problem and I've tried my old account there if I'll still receive an email, and I did. Still, got no reply from the support?

When I've done that before, it only took me not that much but just for few hours.

Most of the new bitcoin people have used the wallet because of the word "blockchain". I've used it before when I was a newbie because I thought it was the official bitcoin blockchain wallet because of the domain.  :P

I have already knew this will happen to web wallets out there, just a simple ideology that not your keys not your bitcoin should be a major priority to consider when having a wallet, you keep saying over and over but some noobs wouldn't listen.

Lol, that's true, I told a noob yesterday that web wallet isn't the best, he laugh at me as if I don't even know what I'm saying, hat name blockchain that it carried decieves them all around.

More reasons not to use web wallet to store your coins for long term. Maybe use it for storing few satoshis, but not everything. You never know when centralized web wallets like this may go down. You may lose access to your fund temporarily, worst case - losing everything you have permanently.
This isn't the first time Blockchain.com has been facing problems. They have been filled bugs and glitches from the very beginning. Yet people still use them like they don't care at all.

It will not be the first time that they have problems, nor will it be the last.
There is no feature in this wallet other than its name that might make many beginners use it.
I hope to spread awareness of the risks of this wallet which may make them spend some money trying to develop it instead of gaining more money for adding more useless tokens.

BTW: it works fine.

You are right, When I first got to know about Bitcoin. The first wallets I signed up where web wallets and guess the names... Blockchain and coinbase  ;D

I think the fact that the web wallets use an approach that most newbies are familiar with (signing up with an email and password), most of them end up getting trapped by the web wallet leaving behind noncustodial wallets that seem a little more technical to set up.

Seriously--I used web wallets when I was first playing around with bitcoin years ago, but at this point I don't think anyone ought to be using them when there are much better alternatives (like Electrum).  At least with software or hardware wallets you don't have to worry about situations like what OP is describing.

Same here, with both of those--and then I learned about keeping your own private keys, which is what all newbies should be learning.

I have used desktop crypto wallets from the beginning because I have learned that anyone who does not control their private keys does not actually own any cryptocurrency. But that doesn't mean I didn't want to try the service we're discussing here, and I've had an account there for years without any problems. For many beginners, alternatives such as desktop or hardware wallets are much more complicated than opening an online crypto account, which is why such services have a very large number of users.

The situation that happened here can also happen with hardware wallets, in case the user uses an application through which he has access to the blockchain. An example is Ledger Live, if Ledger servers go down that software becomes useless, at least when it comes to receiving and sending transactions. Of course in that case there is an alternative to using another UI - but such option exists in blockchain.com - just use your seed with some other wallet and you have bypassed the problem.

Maybe they have known that psychology that whenever a newbie approaches them, it's easier for them to be trusted because of the domain name that they have. Honestly, it was effective on me before when I was completely not experienced in wallets and believing that this type of web wallet is one of the safest until people who were earlier than me taught that made me realized that it wasn't.

We understand what they're saying and believing at the beginning as they're learning through the process. But if they're open to listen to you about your experience, they'll eventually understand the huge difference of it from the non-custodial wallets.
