When bitcoin and crypto finally emerges as the future?

Well uhmmm, we still won't reap the world into halves but then, it's going to be something for the crypto community.

What could that something be for you, haven't scaled through the scarry news of your investment days and have finally over came the challenge.

Companies, other business like hotel, real estate and more fields are now accepting the new trend. Since many people are already into cryptocurrency payments, using blockchain system to improve their business will lead to some positive impact with both cryptocurrency and to their company as well.

As crypto payments continues to become popular with the first companies who have tried to integrate it to their system. Thus, this new kind of accepting crypto coins will make it more significant prominence to the business industry.

As bitcoin becomes noticeable on the internet, more establishments, figures, and entities will jump into the hype in hopes of becoming and/or staying relevant to the growing demands of the people. So the main point here is if we want to hasten the process of bitcoin being adopted and accepted by every country on this planet, we should talk more about it. At least that's how I see it.

Bitpay makes it all possible. Businesses like hotels accepting BTC and stablecoins are entirely believable but wanting doge is pretty much funny. I like doge I have some doge but it's just too early for them to really think the coin is going to be a real investment yet since there is no assurance yet whether the quick rise of DOGE could be sustainable in the long run.

We won't be able to see the impact of that good news in an instant. But just like the other companies and merchants who have announced and started accepting payments in bitcoin, they're the same as those.

And if the other companies who have seen them do it and it's possible through BitPay, they're also going to adopt and do as this company did. The companies who are still in doubt would now come to an idea that it's possible to accept bitcoin through their customers and receive it through USD.

What would my reaction be? Meh, not surprised. Such news doesn't even surprise me that much anymore because adoption is pretty much almost inevitable at this point, the question is just how slow or how fast are we going to get there.

Maybe they want to get into the doge scene early and want to accumulate as much as possible, remember the 20k bitcoin pizza? That might be the same as this. I think that this is a good thing because with big business like hotel and other leisure services, the recognition of bitcoin and other cryptocurrency is going to increase with more people seeing that their resorts are accepting cryptocurrency.

Ehh I'd like to be optimistic and think that businesses likes to hold their crypto but no, most probably not. They're accepting payments through BitPay, which businesses mostly use so they wouldn't need to actually hold cryptocurrencies as the crypto payments are automatically converted to fiat the moment they receive the payment. Even if they'd want to hold crypto, it'll most probably be a tax nightmare.

It's not going to be very smooth. One advantage in accepting payments through a credit or debit card is that additional ID verification is not needed. But since Bitcoin is a semi-anonymous digital asset, the business may ask for ID verification at the time of payment. Another issue that concerns me is the tax liability. Every time you use cryptocurrency to make a payment, it needs to be shown in the tax return. And you need to specify the prevailing exchange rate at that point as well, which is going to be cumbersome. If you make payments through credit card or PayPal, then you don't need to go through this nonsense.

The world wide adoption of bitcoin seems to me finally to be inevitable, while many of those that are here in the forum thought this was the case we still need to recognize there were moments in which bitcoin seemed to be used only by speculators and nothing more, but new estimates put the number of bitcoin users at very high levels so it does not really matter if the adoption happens slowly or if it is a fast process since we know it is coming and that is a great news.

I can still remember back in the day when a large cigar shop (franchise) decided to accept Bitcoin as a payment option. Everyone was excited, because that was supposed to be the event that triggered mass adoption of Bitcoin as a payment option... but as we can see now, it is still not the case.

Bitcoin will not go mainstream as a "Currency" ...if the governments of the world keep on defining it as a "Commodity"  >:(  The large companies have to adhere to the rules and guidelines of their governments and they will never do this without their approval. (Until then, companies will use Payment processors to convert Crypto back to Fiat)  ::)

Crypto is being adopted in many institutions and business but still many people don't take it seriously. By the time majority of the world population would realize that they should have some bitcoins with them, they would be shocked to know the price of bitcoin. We would be considered lucky holding and accumulating bitcoins in the past and present days.

Hotels were hit badly by the coronavirus pandemic and the lockdowns,so they are desperate for solutions that will bring them more customers(I really doubt that accepting crypto payments will bring more customers).
Anyways,every business that accepts crypto payments is good news for us.The the institutional investors will be in the crypto army and they will be followed by many B2B and B2C companies.

We can't deny that bitcoin is progressing and is doing its best to reach the mainstream and deal with the market.

Bitcoin as a choice in payment method is not impossible especially that some businesses or companies are already doing it.

This is really the future of digital currency, there are a lot of new things and opportunities in bitcoin that will make us grow more as an investor and as a fan. Some governments are also seeing this positive impact of bitcoin in the market and economy that's why some of them are allowing it to enter their economy.

If a real business such as hotels and other things can accept bitcoin or altcoins, making crypto will be known and spread in many places. People will be curious about crypto, and they will ask the officer or search from the internet what crypto is and how to use crypto. It can attract more people to come and try to use crypto. That can help the adoption process will grow, and sooner or later, all people will know about crypto, and they will see the benefits of crypto to them. The payment methods will transform from paper money or credit/debit card into digital payment. I think we already see it will happen in many places, as in this pandemic, the government is trying to suggest people use cashless.

Well, at the least they are contributing to the economic circulation of cryptocurrency nonetheless. Now that you mention it, don't you think that it will be a good loophole for taxes that they are going to hodl the profits in bitcoin and other cryptocurrency? I am more shocked at your surprise rather than the news you shared because it is nothing new. There have always been lots of businesses that accept bitcoin as payment which always included hotels too.
Additionally news like this become more common whenever bitcoin is in a bull run because the increasing price has always been a good incentive for people to spend their bitcoins rather than holding on to them (compared to bear markets when most people HODL). If you check 2017 for example you can see the same trend too.

Yes, when bitcoin is in a bull run, there will inevitably be news of the adoption of certain companies or people to add customers, plus in this pandemic their income is so minimal that they change new ways to use bitcoin or other crypto for payments.
Another reason when bitcoin increases, the growth of new users will increase and there is a lot of advertisement or good news everywhere about bitcoin, whatever the reason the company makes its transaction method using bitcoin or other crypto will still be converted to fiat.

Nothing unexpected, I guess those new to the community would be quite surprised since we're only a decade in and we're moving forward at quite a fast pace, but honestly you could have already expected it even way back in 2017 when people began to know about Bitcoin due to the bubble that happened. Plus, the more industries join in, the faster adoption would come since it basically spreads the attention from one industry to the next with that. This is an amazing feat indeed for Bitcoins now what will happen is: these hotels are a brand they are being followed by thousands of small hotels, their this news would not only make them more open towards adding bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies in a form of payment but at the same time it would have positive effect on the price. I would love to go to a place where such hotels would exists, paying them through lightning network or even paying them through normal methods would be convenient for sure..but for me bitcoins will forever be an investment, this would always be way more than their usage in buying/selling commodities. But at the end of the day I do believe that this is something that is small. We have many businesses already doing that, maybe they can add things like 10% off if you pay through Bitcoins?.

bitcoin has getting up the fame more and more lately, and of course those business won't fail to grab the opportunity and hop into the trend. It might give them some good image as well, like them being "advanced" or something, and like what you do now, they will be talked around just because they're finally accepting btc, and it might mean free advertisement.
but still, win win condition for bitcoin as well. The more people know about bitcoin and accept it, then the more bitcoin will be more known, used, and be more common. Hopefully it won't be considered illegal anymore in some places, and started to be used more.

Doge too, if they don't like doge they can sell it for bitcoin or any other currency.

They don't have to sell it for cash. BitPay will do it for them. There are third party services like BitPay that can help those companies that don't want to keep the payments in their original.
But instead, they're exchanging it for the favor of the company who wants to get hold of it in the "other currency" which is cash.

Maybe Doge coin is being exaggerated and not true to its real value, however there is no problem accepting Doge. Doge coins are still being traded on a lot of platforms, they just need to get the doge and then sell them into another currency.

I'm no longer surprised at this news any more because there are series of different cases of cryptocurrency adoption, so I future there should be as many as million dollar companies accept as an alternative means of making payments, so on the note of that, irrespective of the fact that cryptocurrency will become more popular and easily used by everyone, the digital currency will be at the brinks of many adoption.

I think there are limitations in countries about the amount of hotels accepting crypto-currency, Nigeria for example you hardly find any crypto-currency that is accepting bitcoin as payment, most important is that there are people -bitcoiners- almost every where accepting bitcoin privately or low key for their payment, not counting my Chicks before they harsh, I think in many countries bitcoin as payment is not prior, but it happens and that's progress.

I feel that bitcoin has gained recognition and credibility as well as other cryptocurrencies as the best payment alternative that transcends borders, there are no limits.

For them to win the competition and with the high demand for cashless payment, they must have to adopt the new trend. This gonna be a high risk for them but we have to face it otherwise, we left behind.

From now on, I was expecting more small establishments will have to work on their crypto wallet security in preparation for acceptance. It the beginning where we can say that crypto is a currency, not just a form of investment that we use to be in the past years. This not really shocking coz we possible be expecting changes day by day.

Which is why we should look for small companies adopting it, big corporations as you say cannot take risks and they are not going to do it unless they are given permission, but small companies and mom and pop stores do not have to do that since they are not as closely watched as those companies, so whenever you see a small store accepting bitcoin support them by buying something there, even if what they offer is not necessarily something that you need.

There was a thread here long time ago that says the same that hotels are now accepting cryptos as payment method. It's not something to be surprised of anymore actually. Having a cashless transaction is quite common now for the obvious reason of no physical contact with some people.
Even the travel payment here in my country is doing cashless now actually like those toll gates in freeways.
Only thing to worry about is will the adoption stay the same post-pandemic.

Definitely, but I don't see the point that cryptocurrency becoming a shock to most people, I mean did a lot of people got heart attack when online payments for hotels become a thing, I am pretty sure that they didn't, I don't know how OP defines shock but I think it is odd. Yes bitcoin started its journey from 0 and in short span of decade it touched 60k. No one can say with certainty that how far bitcoin can go from here 100k, 1 million or may be higher than that. From day one haters say that it’s a scam and will be over soon but bitcoin proved it all wrong. Its clearly coming faster then we imagine

But today it is our major investment alternative and millions of investors are storming the market daily with their portfolio. So many are considering doing daily transactions within their enterprise outside our normal peer to peer. That would be my go to buy a hardware wallet now, so that I can bring it anywhere to transact with the use of Bitcoin. Right now, I am still using desktop wallet and partly online wallet to hodl my Bitcoin because I ain't even going anywhere that much. No reason yet to buy or invest too much in Trezor or Ledger.

There are two main reasons for big corporations accepting Bitcoin as payment method :

1) With growing demand of Bitcoin there is hype about Bitcoin and all other cryptocurrencies in the market.Many customer are now using them and to cope with customers needs they are accepting these decentralise forms of payment.Moreover it increase their share price with these announcements in the market.

2)They are getting btc and other altcoins without any investment and this is increasing their profits share by huge volumes with few months of time so why shouldn't they be accepting it.Their main goal is profit which is what they are easily getting with matching customers demand and satisfaction.

Optional payments using bitcoin are also a good payment to apply. Obtaining bitcoin and altcoins without investment would certainly be very good and the main objective of implementing bitcoin as a payment method is due to the hype that is going on and crypto is becoming a popular payment over time. The benefits obtained from crypto will certainly be faster and easier due to fluctuating prices. some risks do exist, but if managed by a professional, it will provide many benefits.

Bitcoin adoption is something which has been happening for a while now, many people are getting to know about bitcoin and its usefulness and these is making bitcoin get more adoption, the demand of bitcoin will keep increasing because more and more people will always see the need to invest and most big companies will accept bitcoin as payments because there know the value of it and what there stand to achieve from holding bitcoin. Why is this event so shocking? It isn't the first company and even the first hotel accepting Bitcoin.

I think we may come to a time in which the value of bitcoin will become irrelevant, what will matter is that you are holding some, not long ago people wanted to get at least 10 bitcoins in order to secure their future but with the small amount of bitcoins that we will see in circulation and the huge population around the world this basically means that the average holdings of most people will be measured on mBTCs, so as long as you have at least one BTC that could be more than enough to be way above the average holder of the future.

Were they only news or these institutions really accepted cryptocurrency (Bitcoin mostly) as a payment? I wasnt really looking, but I think I havent found any review or people sharing their experience of paying crypto for services in 2017.

I remember someone from Russian local board making a list of companies who accept Bitcoin as payment. I've checked several companies from that list and there were no option to pay in Bitcoin. In their news section it was mentioned that they accept, but when you place an order and come to payment confirmation, you would most probably see only VISA/Mastercard/Bank wire options. And I'm sure, if you visit their offices, people will create "round eyes" when you will try to pay in crypto. I wonder if something has changed since than.

When more countries accept and allow bitcoin to be used for the payment system, many companies will try to integrate their system with the blockchain and they will let their customers use bitcoin or altcoin to pay what they buy. I think that will happen in the future, especially when bitcoin and altcoin can reach more people from all countries and they do not have difficulty using bitcoin and altcoin.

We can feel excited to read that news but do not forget that we also need to prepare ourselves by trying to have many bitcoin and other coins, so when that is applied in our country, we can use it without a problem.

There is nothing about this , it has been happening for long now and I am just starting to see it as a normal thing and don’t really act excited whenever I see news like this. There are so many companies/businesses that are now working with Bitcoin, what interests me the most is that there are now so many people who are making use of Bitcoin.

It never used to be like this around 2014 to 2015 that I discovered the cryptocurrency market. Back then nobody talks about it, but this time around a lot of people around me talks about it and you will see then posting it on their social media status.

Well i am not shocked at all since bitcoin is really noticeable around social media flat form and from the news many of the companies think's too that bitcoin is really the future currency for the people and they start investing in it not only companies but also those big state and restaurant to be honest i am more shock when i ate in one restaurant that they accepting bitcoin as a payment and i know this happens long time ago and this is the exactly what people are thinking to the future and now many people are working with it bitcoin itself.

Even if business establishments started to accept Bitcoin and other crypto for the goods and services still I wouldn’t spend my crypto that way. I’m just practical and it feels like I’m paying precious gold for services or goods just like the old long times, I’m good with just spending fiat for those.

Nowadays Bitcoin is on in it's increase period, that is why lots of people and services support such a tendency of accepting crypto, and everyone is trying to be the most desired and the first among others. Current technological developments are indeed running very fast, even AI has also begun to be produced to replace human jobs. Likewise,

It's of no use if I am only getting one hotel through out the world where I could pay in bitcoins? What if I have only bitcoins and do not wish to stay in that hotel?

You see, limitations there. Well, adoption is slow process no doubt about it. But thinking about the title, it would really shock me if there are almost every other hotel on the next block who accepts the bitcoin or other currencies.

Then it would be beneficial for the crypto currency as well as the business owner/ user.

Hotel owners are now Joining the force as they don't wanna Be Late for the train , most of their Business owner comrades are entering Bitcoin already and crypto also so why they will miss the chances?

Also lets hope that even small Hotels will accept crypto also because I travel most of the time (As my Work nature) and i wanted to experience spending my crypto in my stays overnight and sometimes even for the whole week in some provincial trips .

It's nice that there are some companies becoming open to Bitcoin as a payment method in 2021, but they are not enough to boost mass adoption. It all sounds great as separate positive news, and yet it's still baby steps if we compare it with the global economy.
