Title: Re: anybody tried these hashes out? (wallet.dat willing to exchange) Post by: bob123 on March 26, 2021, 03:14:27 PM got a whole bunch of them...need help advising or encrypting All you can do with them is to bruteforce them. I don't exactly know why you want to steal the money of other people or where you got them from.. but chances are high that you got scammed if you bought them or that they are worthless if publicly posted. Either way.. it is unethical and unlikely to succeed. Title: Re: anybody tried these hashes out? (wallet.dat willing to exchange) Post by: BitMaxz on March 26, 2021, 03:39:51 PM This list of hash was posted on another forum months ago and it seems some of them already posted here on the forum.
- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5313514.0 And found some of the hash that already posted here around yr 2012 you can find it from here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5237245.0 So I think these hashes are not worth cracking because if those are already posted years ago and until now no one can crack it. You also don't have a chance to crack these wallets. If I were you forget about these wallets because you are just wasting your money or even it's free for me it's not worth cracking and you are just wasting your time. Has anybody tried any of those? To the question of unethical use, we are not talking of stealing somebody's money, this experiment is a part of something more bigger then just money)))

(wallet.dat willing to exchange) Post by: DaveF on March 29, 2021, 02:38:05 AM Makes you wonder if with the speed improvements in GPU / Tesla from Nvidia if some of these could be broken in any reasonable amount of time in the future.
Probably not and it's probably never going to we worth it but think how far GPUs have come in the last decade. -Dave Title: Re: anybody tried these hashes out? Probably not and it's probably never going to we worth it but think how far GPUs have come in the last decade. -Dave Nvidia came up with DGX-2 the price factor and the availability of these master pieces leave much to be desired. But it is a question of time... Don't forget also about Amazon Braket and things like that, I am more than sure that as soon as someone spends enough time and money to get into this issue thoroughly, we will see that ECDSA is not secure enough)) I hate to bother the dinosaurs, but Enigma also seemed unapproachable. We are on the white side of the force though...)) Title: Re: anybody tried these hashes out? That would be horrible experiment because it has ethical concern and uncontrollable parameter. If someone wants to perform such experiment, they should able to control the parameter (such as which software used to generate the wallet and password characteristic) to achieve good result. Ignoring the ethics factor, I disagree this would be a bad experiment. It would measure the ability to crack a password intended to secure xx dollars. |
