Title: Why the witch hunt, mods? Post by: Maestro75 on March 26, 2021, 10:44:17 AM This is getting me frustrated to say the least as forum moderators continue to delete my posts. It is not as if they are posts which can be termed shitposts as many people will think that is the reason for deleting them. And the deleted posts are not bounty posts either. From the way the mass deletion was carried out, it appears whoever deleted my recent posts just went to my profile and clicked away as most of the posts were deleted within a second. I counted over 50 posts deleted in a day and over 80 within 72 hours in total. That is bad because it is obvious those deleted posts were never read by the mod before deleting them. Anyone reading this post should please take out time to check the time gap of each deleted posts in the pictures below.. Look at the seconds. The hastiness in deleting them shows lack of diligence on the part of the mod who did the dirty job of witch hunt. I know mods want to show theymos that they are working to justify their pay but they should do a thorough job at it. Whoever is deleting my posts should leave me alone and stop being in my business unnecessarily, please.

Post by: suzanne5223 on March 26, 2021, 11:45:39 AM There's once a situation where the forum moderator deletes posts footing the report of a forum member who finds some post unsubstantial and as said earlier to get to the bottom of this situation you will need to show the screenshot of the posts you think don't worth deleted so the moderator can look into it.
Title: Re: Why the witch hunt, mods? Post by: Poker Player on March 26, 2021, 11:58:01 AM Maybe what has happened, as it has been pointed out, is that a member of the forum has seen a post of yours that he considers low quality and then he went to look at your whole story while on a reporting spree. That happened to me once but only got like 3 posts deleted. So, that guy reports quite a few of your posts and a moderator if he sees they are one-liners or something like that deletes them, thus the short space between deletions. But let's see if moderator Hilarious or another can shed some light on it. Hilarious was very helpful in my case.
Title: Re: Why the witch hunt, mods? Post by: The Sceptical Chymist on March 26, 2021, 12:22:34 PM Since you don't show examples of deleted posts, it's more likely someone specifically decide to look at your post history and report your posts. That's most likely what happened, since mods aren't known to just delete a member's posts in bulk unless someone has reported a whole bunch of them (although I could see hilariousandco doing something like that). Taking a look at OP's post history, what I see is mediocrity and it seems obvious to me that he's just writing posts to fulfill a character count for a bounty/sig campaign--at least that would be the first thing that would come to mind if I were to just randomly look at a handful of his posts and guess his motivation for being here.On the other hand, I've seen posts that were much worse that didn't get deleted, so I'd be curious to know what those deleted ones looked like. They were probably bad since someone obviously reported them and a mod agreed with the report(s). Try to do better, OP. Title: Re: Why the witch hunt, mods? Post by: jackg on March 26, 2021, 12:32:05 PM Are you sure it's a mid deleting your posts and the posts weren't made in self moderated topics controlled by an op? That doesn't seem to have been suggested yet but it could also be the case here.
Title: Re: Why the witch hunt, mods? Post by: Halab on March 26, 2021, 01:09:58 PM Before opening a new topic and blaming the mods, I would have taken a look at this post (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4440941.msg56638826#msg56638826) (or use one of the notification tools made available by other users).
And before deleting those 89 posts, I'm sure the mod checked the relevance of at least (if not all) some reports. Title: Re: Why the witch hunt, mods? Post by: mk4 on March 26, 2021, 01:40:51 PM Quick tip: The mods wouldn't delete your posts if they weren't spam or crappy in the first place. You do realize that they wouldn't delete your posts just because they want to, right?
Whoever is deleting my posts should leave me alone and stop being in my business unnecessarily, please. Maybe when you stop sabotaging our forum experience.Title: Re: Why the witch hunt, mods? Post by: Maestro75 on March 27, 2021, 09:04:20 AM Since you don't show examples of deleted posts, it's more likely someone specifically decide to look at your post history and report your posts. Below are a few deleted posts from just a single day (March 15). There are more like that but I do not want to clog up this space by uploading more of that. Can someone tell me that those posts are shit posts? https://i.imgur.com/3tgRIyb.jpg https://i.imgur.com/pmaaX6W.jpg https://i.imgur.com/7pcy1i2.jpg https://i.imgur.com/nzJpuhH.jpg https://i.imgur.com/hwowupJ.jpg https://i.imgur.com/2qDIxet.jpg https://i.imgur.com/siJE95E.jpg On the other hand, I've seen posts that were much worse that didn't get deleted, so I'd be curious to know what those deleted ones looked like. I have seen many poorly and out of place posts not only did they not get deleted but they got merited and I could not believe my eyes. You weren't the worst on the list, though. Be happy! I do not understand what your table means and will not pretend I do. I followed the link on it but found posts dating back to 2019 while I reported a case that happened a few days ago. Can you shed light on that table and how related it is to the issue at stake? Title: Re: Why the witch hunt, mods? Each of those lines in the code block I provided corresponds to a report that was deemed good by a moderator. This usually means that a post is deleted: in some rare cases, they may be merged, moved, or have some other action performed. In 99.9% of cases, good report = post deleted. The link I posted regarding the deleted posts goes back to 2019 because it's scraping your profile: just scroll down a bit to get to 2021. That's why I posted my own list, so that people could cross-reference both for maximum transparency*. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ * sure, I didn't post the local report time, but that's not necessary unless you want to see when the script was running vs. not Title: Re: Why the witch hunt, mods? I had to take pictures of those messages with another phone so I could upload them here. Title: Re: Why the witch hunt, mods? Post by: acroman08 on March 27, 2021, 05:35:49 PM P.S. Title: Re: Why the witch hunt, mods? Post by: suchmoon on March 27, 2021, 07:17:41 PM OP, you seem to be one of those slightly advanced not-100%-shitposters who managed to survive here by blowing up their one-liners into 3-4 lines of text, but it's still mostly vague paragraphs in spam megathreads, often posted without reading (not that there is any reason to read or post in such threads to begin with) and I doubt this forum lost anything of significant value with those deleted posts. I remember looking through your post history a while ago, as I often do when I send merits to someone for the first time - to check if I missed other good posts - and couldn't really find much.
My advice would be to take time to read all your deleted posts (remember, you expected others to read them, right? otherwise why bother) and compare to posts you received merits for and try to understand the difference. Title: Re: Why the witch hunt, mods? Post by: Maestro75 on March 28, 2021, 07:09:06 AM you're using a Samsung phone. as far as I know, all smartphone from Samsung has a screenshot feature you just have to press the volume down button and the power button or power button and home button at the same time to trigger the screenshot. what model are you using anyway? You are right. It is a Samsung Galaxy Note5. I tried out what you suggested but it did not work. Thank you for trying to help out, and not others trying to lord it over me here.
