Title: Can Your Bitcoin Wallet Be Hacked? How Can You Secure It?
Post by: 4king on March 26, 2021, 02:56:49 PM
There are many people in 2021 that have decided Bitcoin is the future - and they aren't wrong either!

One question a lot of people are asking is whether your Bitcoin wallet can be hacked or not - well, can it? And is there a way to secure these funds? https://4king.com/can-your-bitcoin-wallet-be-hacked-how-to-secure-your-funds/

If the owner of the wallet knows how to use the wallet and knows the security measures, this will not happen. Cases of hacking and theft of bitcoins are often described here, but all this happens due to the carelessness of the owners.
Therefore, it is irresponsible to blame anyone for theft. Before investing your money in cryptocurrency, you need to study all the risks, as well as all the ways to protect against these risks. And only then make a decision, as well as be responsible for your bitcoins

Remember to use the password of the BTC wallet only there. Don’t utilize the same key in social networks, in e-mail and also don’t write it in notes on your phone. Two-Factor authentication can help you.

You live with the present and expect for things in the future. Bitcoin was created in 2009 and for the present it achieves some good adoption. Price? Bitcoin price can make people who don't invest in bitcoin or hate bitcoin get mad.

Their madness is from their jealousy with bitcoiners and bitcoin investors.

Bitcoin give you an own bank if you want. With a non custodial wallet and good security for your device, your wallet backups, you are free from governments and hacks.

Cold wallets are a more secure, long-term residence for your Bitcoin. They’re also called ‘hardware wallets’ because they often come in the form of a USB-drive-shaped device that can plug into your computer or link to your computer or phone via Bluetooth technology. Hot wallets, however, generally live online, which makes them more vulnerable to hackers.

All account and wallets can be hack as long as you are connecting it online. No matter how knowledgeable you are on security measure in crypto, there's always a point that you will commit error that might lead you to possible hack.

You have less chance of hacking if you are storing your Bitcoin via hardware wallet and check it rarely. Never use Web wallet and don't input your private key online

Anything online can be hacked, even well-known exchanges are recently attacked and stolen funds. The best way to secure your funds is thru a hardware wallet where you get to keep your seed phrase and funds offline. It's one of the best investment one can make for security.

when I heard the word "hacked" I was very worried about my internet security system and checked it right away, hope it doesn't happen to me. although no system is safe, one must still be careful. especially regarding digital wallets which are currently very vulnerable to being hacked, sometimes we feel safe, but in fact, we are not.

Well, I'm not an expert on that topic but I have a friend and Engineer that was very capable and knowledgeable on that topic and he said that there is no such thing as perfect on the internet all are systems subjected to vulnerabilities thats why there's a frequent update to fix those vulnerabilities and because of that reality I conclude that even most of the crypto wallet today are also vulnerable to hacking including those Bitcoin wallets. so stay safe by making your password strong while stored your phrase and private keys in a secure place that was the basics.

Just don't hodl your money in an exchange or something that you don't handle the security of your private key.
There is no perfect security as everything in digital is made by someone else's code and it is just a matter of exploit of that code that can lead to potential hack and of course, the loss of your BTCs.

PS: OP just seems to promote his/er site to get clicks/visits judging from the post history. I didn't click the link anyway. ::)

I don't think your Bitcoin wallet can be hacked as long as you don't show any of your private information related to the wallet. It should be really one of the hardest things for the hackers when it comes to crypto wallets. Decentralized systems are more secure than centralized ones.

Don't be overconfident. There are various ways in which a software wallet can get hacked, and that's true for non-custodial and open-source wallets as well.

The most common way to lose your funds is downloading and installing a fake wallet. Electrum, for example, is a frequent target of various attacks and scams. You have surely heard about the notifications that were shared by malicious Electrum servers in the past that requested users to download newer versions of the Electrum client. In reality, they downloaded a fake phishing app infected with malware.

Other ways involve getting infected with a clipboard hijacker that changes your address to that of the hacker. There are RATs, crypto-stealing malware, password stealers, or keyloggers. These were produced to find and copy sensitive information such as private keys, passwords, wallet files, etc.

Hackers are always trying to find a way to hack into your online wallets and have access to your funds but if you have proper backup and knowledge of how to secure your funds in wallet you are less liable to be hacked. You can use hardware wallet like Trezor which almost zero probability of hacking and your funds are secure. You can follow some following steps to avoid getting hacked :

1) Don't share your private keys with any other person asking you for keys

2)Avoid clicking on phisshy and scammy links or emails which can install malware in your software and you loose access to your wallet and funds.

So our security is our prime responsibility and we can't rely on any third party for such things.

I just read the full article, and i think you should change the name to 'What's a bitcoin wallet?' You spend a lot of lines talking about what is a bitcoin wallet, and only some words talking about if it can be hacked.

Any bitcoin wallet can be hacked, and if you have the most secure wallet software then your windows can be hacked, and that way the attacker could take your coins. Even if you don't have that computer online, someone can physically access that computer and take the coins.

So, any software is vulnerable nowadays.

The most secure wallet is the physical wallet, It is less likely to be hacked if you use it with precaution. Each physical or cold wallet is protected or encrypted by random private keys. The only reason hardware wallets can be hacked is to lose your private key.
There are also some noncustodial online wallets, paper wallets, and desktop wallets that are also safe to use unless you follow the rules. Desktop wallets are often attacked by viruses, so these wallets should be used offline. So, the recommended way is, Don't use any exchange service to hold your coin for long term, use a hardware wallet and keep your private keys secure.

Most likely, any wallet can be hacked. But still I prefer to use hd and licensed wallets like ownr and trust.
Ownr is a closed-source wallet and it's a multicurrency client. If your intention is to store bitcoin, you don't need a multicurrency wallet for that. There are many wallets that belong to the bitcoin-only, non-custodial, and open-source categories that you can use instead.

Trust wallet is also a multicurrency software wallet. It's a closed-source app just like the Ownr wallet. That means that the wider Bitcoin community has not had a chance to inspect the code and check how it works.

I do think that for the people who are already holding Bitcoins right now they understand the whole struggle already. The thing is , bitcoin itself is very secure. What you have to worry about is your :
Mobile
Wallet
Use a trusted wallet!
You have to understand and make the right decision about the wallet and then you have to move forward and secure your mobile also. Personal errors are very common and can cause a havoc.
Do not click weird links that you know nothing about and have never heard of it. Do not go on sites which might seem dark, do not open 📖 weird mails and honestly there are a lot of things that you should not do but it all starts and ends with having a personal security with respect to your electronic devices. Therefore I do think it would be more of a valid lesson to not only read about the security of a bitcoin wallet. But rather also work on general security.

The reality is that anything given enough time can be hacked, however given all of the publicity that hackers get most of the time people lose their money to scammers, basically they make a mistake and inadvertently they give their coins, private keys or seed words to other people and that is how they lose their money, this is the equivalent of giving all of your financial information to another person and hope such person does not take advantage of that circumstance, however you can reduce your chances of being scammed significantly by just using your common sense.

Web wallets should be used by a newbie just as a wallet temporarily which they'll send the funds from there to a better wallet if their plan is to hold it for a very long time.

There were a lot of series and news that exchanges have been hacked and many users have been badly affected by it because they trust those platforms as a web wallet.

And we also need to be careful using any wallet and make sure that you keep private keys offline or in a written form.

Nothing is unhackable but you can make use of those decentralized wallets which you do possess its keys or no one is really aware on those sensitive information
and the rest will depend upon on you on how you gonna keep those keys safe out on other peoples awareness. In link then those are just those generic or
typical basic steps but still there are people whom do failed to do so or just simply neglecting. They do whine or cry after they had lost their money
because they've been hacked.

Anything that is connected to the internet and with poor security can be hacked.  There are lots of cases reported on the internet regarding Bitcoin wallets being hacked.  Most hackers use sophisticated programs that can breach the security of wallet apps.  Most of this cases are a result of careless browsing, opening pages, and downloading a file from the internet.  Installing anti-virus, anti-malware and internet security is the normal way of securing our Bitcoin wallet.  It can be heightened by avoiding unknown and unsecured sites, downloading unverified files, and as much as possible keep our BTC wallet stored in an offline system not connected to the internet.

Remember to use the password of the BTC wallet only there. Don’t utilize the same key in social networks, in e-mail and also don’t write it in notes on your phone. Two-Factor authentication can help you.

True that. Since mobile phones can get lost or stolen, it's not ideal to store those seeds and private keys on them. Not to mention that these notes apps can easily be compromised. Back in 2017, I know a guy that lost over a million dollars simply because he stored some of his wallet access details in his Evernote account which was later compromised and funds drained afterwards.  Best to keep details like that in a safe location that's offline too preferably a hardware wallet with top security.

In that case, we have to anticipate that, and having a backup file could help. That should we gonna do and we can just be confident enough were exposing our Bitcoin to others will lead to some interest in it.

We can't really escape from this but it is for us then on how to manage our accounts. If we are too careless, the more it helps hackers to successfully steal our cryptos. We have to remember that they are smarter than us and any leaks to our keys will get easy for them to get in and control.

Just few weeks ago I was able to recover my $80k which was stolen from my blockchain and that really brought me back to life again, agent James helped me . All you need to do is provide evidences of your loss and send to recoverlostcoin@cyberservices.com to help you work on the recovery process.
You can't do it yourself because Blockchain and most cryptocurrencies network are very complex and even miners can't reverse transactions that have been processed.
So, that's all I can advise you do right away.
Many people have lost bitcoins this year also. It's best you utilize this opportunity to help yourself out before it's too late.
Also, work on using better passwords with mixed characters to reduce risks of hacking.

There are some ways and basic things needs to follow when you want to become an crypto investor which are like having the knowledge about crypto addresses, wallet types, private keys and how to store them safely but not digitally.

The best ways are storing cryptos in a hardware wallets or create an airgapped wallet then use another device with watch only address and broadcasting the transactions.

Yes, i also appreciate that bitcoin is the future. Because this is the best Crypto currency. Bitcoin wallet can be hacked if your wallet private key lost or found by someone else. You need to keep your private key in the safest place. Don't put it in anywhere that can be hacked. Write down it in your diary and keep your diary in Locker.

I have used all kinds of Bitcoin wallets, and I admit that they are the easiest to hack if we use an exchanges wallet. So I never store large amounts of
Bitcoin on exchanges, I only store Bitcoin on exchanges for trading only. I keep the rest in a hardware wallet which is proven to be the most secure,
and as long as I use a hardware wallet, I have never lost or been hacked. Therefore, I highly recommend storing Bitcoin in a hardware wallet.

To many of those web wallets available and we don't know which of them is truly secured since everyone of them is vulnerable from attacks. So for choosing best the best wallet better to use those wallet which are regulated and applied for a license on your country since this one ca. give proper security to their users.

If you're not careful, and end up sharing your keys with others you will definitely be at risk. The danger is even higher for wallets on any exchange, but even still cold wallets can only protect you if you're not a complete idiot to get hacked because you're not fully protected. The only way to be secure is to never share your details with anybody - not even your mom.  It's just that simple.

Still I wouldn't use them as a cold wallet or a wallet that will hold my funds longer time.

Mostly, they're closed-source so you won't see their codes and it's not advisable to use them as your wallet which you won't use for a long time. You can use them as is.

But using them like how we use hardware wallets, I wouldn't do that.

Hello everybody. Hacking my wallet is quite possible, I think that any wallet can be hacked. But if you adhere to certain rules, which, in my opinion, even schoolchildren know and which can be easily found on YouTube, but unfortunately, sometimes even strict rules cannot save us from the insistence of burglars, who almost always know how to get to your money. Only strict discipline while observing the rules in handling your finances can save our money from burglars.

No, not really.

If by online wallet you mean a desktop wallet on your computer then it can be infected by a virus but it's almost impossible for it to be hacked. Maybe if you were using wifi, but in normal circumstances nobody is going to literally break into your computer that's hidden under some random ip address in a random network.

If by online you mean a custodial wallet like blockchain.com then it can be hacked.

Anything that can be seen online is vulnerable to hack most specially if you are to create an online wallet to make storage not just for your Bitcoin but as well as into your other cryptocurrencies. Your wallet can be hacked if you are not that careful on securing your details and information that is bounded within your account and if you have not secure it to the maximum extent of security available into the Bitcoin wallet that you have chosen. Also, it can also be intruded by hackers who happen to create websites and pop ads that you accidentally click while browsing so better get rid of those and be aware not to entertain strange stuffs online to avoid yourself getting caught up into a situation that might potentially hack your account.

If you are using a third party wallet the only thing you need to looks is their set up and whether they can be trusted, you cannot say everything can be hacked. I would like to see any stock exchanges getting hacked but we hardly see that  :P.

Always use ample protection in your home computer or laptop before accessing internet and never use them to visit phishing sites, have a bookmark for all the sites you visit and never visit sites that you do not trust using your computer and make sure you clean everything up on a daily basis and lock the ability to make any updates and changes without your permission.

Still the best practice is to get a hardware wallet and never store any valuable information in an hard disk that is online most of the time.

I'm getting confused here mate, you are saying storing Bitcoin and other altcoin in a multicurrency wallet for a long term is not advisable? I have read in several places that wallet that gives out mnemonic seed phrase, and other private keys are good for storing coin right? but trust wallet and ownr wallet has that, so you trying to say trust wallet is not good for storing coin for long term? Even Atomic wallet too? They are all multicurrency wallets. I know of the fact that trust is not an open source wallet, I don't know the rest.

As an instance, if someone need to store litecoin for a long term, the person should have a non-custodial wallet that can store only litecoin? Is that what you mean?

Lots of incidents of Bitcoin wallets being hacked, therefore we must be careful to choose a safe Bitcoin wallet. Most vulnerable to being hacked
if we use web wallets or exchange wallets, both of which are most often hacked. Therefore I strongly discourage storing Bitcoin on web wallets
and exchanges wallets in the long run. Based on my experience and many articles that I have read, the safest Bitcoin wallets are hardware wallets
and desktop / mobile wallets. But I recommend using hardware wallets instead of desktop wallets, because it is more difficult to hack. Even though
we have to pay a lot of money to buy the device.

Everything connected to the internet can. be hacked, especially if you are storing your assets in an exchange because most of the exchanges are already get hacked and those people who store their assets in a certain exchange have lost their money as well. The best thing to do or to use to avoid getting hacked is to use a hardware wallet that is the safest wallet that you can have but if you weren't able to buy a hardware wallet then just take care of your device, avoid installing unnecessary software as some of the software that we can install in our device are fake and can give virus on your device also avoid clicking some links sent to you by a stranger.

Bruteforcing the wallet would take a lot of time like aeons that we are talking about, there are other ways to hack a wallet besides the impossible brute force, you can target someone by sending them a malware through emails or links with suspicious origins, or plant a RAT(Remote Access Tool) in a persons computer and see what the person sees and lastly, you can plant a keylogger and record their keystrokes.

Of course, it can be. If you aware of every time and maintain high security then can minimize the chances of losing.  Any type of wallet people use can hack, if you safe your online then they can attack your PC. The highest safe wallet is offline and physical wallet but now time people upgrade their lifestyle so it is easy to use online wallet though there is a lot of risks we know No risk No gain.

Just few weeks ago I was able to recover my $80k which was stolen from my blockchain and that really brought me back to life again, agent James helped me . All you need to do is provide evidences of your loss and send to recoverlostcoin@cyberservices[dot]com to help you work on the recovery process.
If you don't have any proof what you're talking about better go away instead of spreading your lies.

You need to keep your private key in the safest place. Don't put it in anywhere that can be hacked. Write down it in your diary and keep your diary in Locker.
Diary/Book is not a safe place to keep your private key because it can be eaten by termites, burned, mistakenly written etc. The best way to keep private key is using steel wallet such as cryptosteel [1], it prevent from fire, corrosion, etc

Why, when it comes to digital currencies and digital wallets, does everyone point to the loss of a wallet?
If you also have cash and do not know how to use and maintain it, you will definitely lose it.
The same goes for digital wallets, you just have to not lose the recovery key and do not share your password with anyone to make the most of the benefits of the digital world. Also, always use Two-Factor authentication for more security.
Back up recovery key, using strong password and set up 2FA doesn't prevent you from getting hacked because it's useless. The hacker can directly go to the hot wallet of the wallet/exchange and get your coins on there.

Yes, a Bitcoin wallet can be hacked, if someone does not secure his wallet through the security settings and if the person does not activate two-factor authentication, and if he logs into his web wallet through a fake website, we must be careful, as the hackers' intrigue does not end.
Don't confuse between hacked and careless, it's a fault from the user since he didn't be careful before login into his wallet.

The highest safe wallet is offline and physical wallet but now time people upgrade their lifestyle so it is easy to use online wallet though there is a lot of risks we know No risk No gain.
What do you mean of No risk No gain? I don't find any correlation between risking your money in online wallet and what gain you will get? It's different with those lending platform or High yield farming, those I mentioned before you will get some % gain if you lend/deposit your money on that's platform

You should also be careful when downloading software, clicking malicious advertisements, email links, and many more as those are the common ways of spreading the virus on your device. The value of bitcoin is now too high so expect that hackers are active nowadays.

One question a lot of people are asking is whether your Bitcoin wallet can be hacked or not - well, can it? And is there a way to secure these funds? https://4king.com/can-your-bitcoin-wallet-be-hacked-how-to-secure-your-funds/
Hacking a secure Bitcoin wallet is toughest job. Unless you holding million of dollars worth of btc in it, I don't think anybody will going to give it even a try.
Also most people wrongly use term hacking for password stealing.
Sometimes you accidentally diaclose your password through phishing or other ways and someone use your password to stole your funds. That's not hacking technically.
If someone get into your wallet by cracking your password or loopholes in system, that is hacking which is not possible with btc wallet.

Sure it can be hacked and this is a question that a lot of people keeps on asking all the time because they are trying to be careful and wouldn’t want to lose their money that they have stored in their cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency wallets can be hacked and you even run double the risk when you’re making use of a crypto wallet that is online base, that means that if the platform that is Hosting that wallet is hacked you’re going to be at the risk of losing your money in that hack.

But, I think it’s always be careful ahead and try to not to drop traces that’s going to attract hackers to you, if you’re the type that’s dropping such traces then you’re running huge risk.

Every wallet has its weaknesses making it very susceptible to hacking, stealing, or loss. I personally keep a hard wallet as a backup to my virtual wallet so I can gain access to it either way or just when the time calls it. It brings me the peace of mind as I know my wallet is secure in more ways than one. Although the preference for which wallet to use is hewvily dependent on its user, so you have to ask yourself if the benefits of keeping your bitcoin in a particular form of wallet outweighs the dangers it is susceptible to.

If using web wallet, might aswell use the available exchanges' wallet that are 100% more reliable and too big to scam your pennies like popular exchange platform. The code of that web wallet might be published in github and reviewed thorougly by the community but we don't know the real code that's in the production and it could contain logging or such.

To many of those web wallets available and we don't know which of them is truly secured since everyone of them is vulnerable from attacks. So for choosing best the best wallet better to use those wallet which are regulated and applied for a license on your country since this one ca. give proper security to their users.

Exactly, at this point where many some untrusted web wallets appearing it's just better to stick with a wallet that are somewhat owned by a regulated entity if we're trying to use online wallet.
Otherwise, just use desktop wallet that has been popular since ages ago. Too many irresponsible people out there trying to snatch our things nowadays.

This is the most on point answer that I have seen in this thread, and @Yayis is right, you just have to have a cold wallet with all the necessary credentials to access the wallet hidden away and you have to shut up about it, you will not be a target if they don't know that you have something valuable.

If the owner of the wallet knows how to use the wallet and knows the security measures, this will not happen. Cases of hacking and theft of bitcoins are often described here, but all this happens due to the carelessness of the owners.

carelessness is the root of bad luck...
The most important thing that must be secured is the private key and also the wallet password, if you are careless about storing this your wallet will not only be able to be hacked by people but your wallet could be locked.

I guess anything within the internet can be hacked, however, the question is whether it's easy to be hacked or not.
I guess it all depends, bitcoin wallet already have complicated password, and i think it's such a good thing. People can't easily access our wallet, or guessing the password cause it'll never work. We can even barely remember our own password lol. However, there are many scams out there, and many people still fall for it, resulting in their wallets get hacked. How to secure it? Make sure you're the only one to know your password, save it securely, don't click on random websites, don't believe anything that seems fishy, might be a scame, and always be careful of course.

There's no way a bitcoin wallet can be hacked without the owner leaking the private keys or the seed phrase, if the owner of the wallet is a lousy type of person that keeps important things anywhere someone else can easily find it :P of course that wallet can be hacked, as long as any private details to that wallet is been leaked, there's bound to be a lose of funds when that happens, that's why it important to safe guard your seed phrase and private keys to avoid such scenarios.

We must recognize that using cryptocurrencies can be a very challenging experience especially for those that are not really that good with technology so I do not have a problem with newbies at the beginning using an exchange or a web wallet as their first wallet since I know I began my journey in the same way, but after some weeks then it is imperative that you move your coins to a wallet that only you control and if the amount of coins you have is significant then getting a hardware wallet is a must.

Obviously yes, if you aren't cautious enough, your wallet can be hacked. The cautiousness has to do with you been very careful of things you download or websites you visit with your phone or laptop putting into consideration where your coins are been stored.

Now irrespective of how careful you are, the hacking could still occurs but as a result of the poor security system of the wallet providers and not your mistakes, like if their wallet have a fault that can be exploited by hackers.

Reasons like this are whey we're encourage to only used trust worthy wallet providers that has been tested and can be vouched for, also why hardware wallet are been emphasize since it's security system is top notch.

Every bitcoin wallet have unique private key for access. Also one can set password for his/her own. If anyone put private key in those place which can be hacked then bitcoin wallet will also hacked. Then don't use password same as other social media website. Use an unique password. Also you can write it down in paper and keep the paper in safest place. If anyone will be more aware of private keys or other access of account then his/her account must be safe form hackers.

There are rumors that hackers can access and steal bitcoins from our digital wallets but it's still humor and I've never heard personal experience with regards to this matter. Bitcoin network is supported by Blockchain technology, so it's impossible to be hacked since it's the most secure way of storing our digital assets such as BTC. Moreover, there's no record of a security breach on the bitcoin network before so the only way for hackers is to gain access to your digital wallet. So it is most likely caused by carelessness of the owner.

The popularity of bitcoin is increasing, especially after this pandemic, many people are trying to keep getting money in this difficult time. many people have come to know bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general after doing a search for "how to get money from the internet", right?
this is a good step, but it needs to be studied more deeply, remember that knowledge is power.

In the article that you linked to, several types of wallets have been explained and their level of security. There are also tips for keeping your online wallet safe by keeping internet access safe, avoiding phishing, etc.
My advice, if you are involving large funds, use a hardware wallet.
unfortunately, most newcomers don't care about the security of their wallets, so it's easy to get caught in hacking, even though it's because of their own carelessness. it is necessary to understand the risks and how to overcome them in order to adapt well.

People need to be a little bit more specific with the language they use, except for online wallets like the ones that you see in exchanges it is very rare for a wallet to get hacked, what happens is that the users behind those wallets get hacked, it may seem like semantics but it isn't, people are the ones that make all kind of mistakes that eventually leads them to lose their coins, so the first thing that people need to learn is how to secure their coins properly otherwise every other piece of knowledge that you may have about this market is useless.

For bitcoin wallets, as long as you secure it properly and never share it to anyone the private key and passphrase then you won't be easily hacked. I don't think your Bitcoin wallet can be hacked as long as you don't show any of your private information related to the wallet. It should be really one of the hardest things for the hackers when it comes to crypto wallets. Decentralized systems are more secure than centralized ones.

Actually even if you do not show any private information related to your wallet stlll, there are some hacker out there that can access your wallet. Just be careful with what you download like for example applications, what you access link, and any other suspicious things. It is better to have many wallets so that you can distribute your funds.

One important thing is to not publicly talk a lot about your portfolio because that may make you a target for social engineering. Many people brag about their portfolio in public and I think that is not very smart. Rather keep quiet and enjoy.

Other than that there is a variety of things you can do. I wouldn't recommend holding too much in a single wallet for example. Split it up such that you can bear the loss of a single wallet. Use a hardware wallet and so on and so forth.

All security certainly has loopholes that can be hacked by hackers. no system is safe.

All security also depends on the individual using it. If the system has been updated to the latest security, but the user is still not alert, the security used will be useless.

there are many ways that hackers do to break into security systems. Personal bitcoin wallets or exchanges become vulnerable when ignoring the security used. using 2FA authentication does help, some other security can also be applied such as authentication on phone numbers and e-mails etc.

Security is a delicate topic. You never know how secure your system is until you get hacked. If you don't get hacked your system could be secure but also could just have been no target thus far. That's why it is very difficult to assess want anti malware is actually worth as you don't really ever know whether it was helpful to you or not.

Your Bitcoin wallet can be stolen at any time by talented network crimes. So need to protect your wallet safely to protect your own property. You can do the following:
_ Need to optimize your password so that hackers are hard to invade.
_ Do not use any unknown software to limit the intrusion of viruses on your computer.
_ Do not log in to your account at computer or public places.

To ensure our account, the method as you said is also quite reasonable, vigilant and not sharing private information, for storing information on email, it's not as risky as you might think when the email system is relatively secure depending on our setup. Some recommendations are that we should store it in a cold wallet which is also quite good but quite inconvenient for the transition and investment.

I believe that this Bitcoin wallets are so secure that the only problem people accessing it is forgetting their own passwords or losing their private keys over something that was trivial when they started keeping or hiding their secure places to keep it. Bitcoin wallets cannot be hacked as long as you yourself only knows the passwords that would access it. You should also look for the Bitcoin wallet that already has a good standing and credibility in terms of its security and not just some new Bitcoin wallet that was created and just hyped because of the one promoting it. Always go for quality.

but the anticipation is huge because bitcoin also has a pretty good security system to keep hackers from taking our accounts. we can use duplicate passwords as well as whatever it is that keeps our account safe from hackers.

Private keys and others stuff is enough for you to be secured in every exchange. Unless the exchange itself gets hacked then no matter what you do it is inevitable.
The most safe I guess is the cold storage I don't know much about it but someone boasts about it in here that it is the most secure wallet.

I know a person whose account has been hacked I don't know how, maybe there was a mistake when he trade his coin, was deceived by some phishing site and made all the account in her wallet gone, so I think we need doubled check out count and make sure you do not share it to some other people and really be careful when trading.

I really believe that anything is done according to the right procedure when doing anything including trading. we can be sure it will be safe and there will be no way hackers can hack your accounts. All accounts that can be hacked after making any transaction are not due to the wrong transaction, but before or after trading is usually a mistake made by the user. what is often wrong is to open any link that we do not know, and give our secret key to friends or anyone. because the wallet is made, its security is very guaranteed and if it weren't for our carelessness, it wouldn't be possible for someone to hack it.

There's a chance if you not completely make sure that your wallet is safe from different intruders. This is the reason why we have the seed phrases we need to store in a physical way like writing down on a piece of paper and make a copy of it so if there's a chance it might lose you can have a duplicate. Password on that bitcoin wallet is just a security feature on the device but not on the account if you lose your wallet they are looking for the seed, not for the password itself. it's better to sure have different layers of security too if you can add a two-way authentication(2FA) it's good also with another password with a text field. Also, avoid using public wireless fidelity (WIFI).

Strong passwords are like a powerful ieldal that protects you from brutal forces and attacks like this, thus preventing the attacker from accessing your encrypted data this makes it so important to set up a strong password for your crypto holding. If you don't know a strong password is one letter number and symbol and at least 16 characters long  actually better. I know that remembering passwords is more strategic than remembering people’s names and that’s why I always recommend writing a paper sheet password and keeping it safe somewhere I use a hardware wallet so it is less likely to be hacked.

Exactly, there is always a flaw in any system, if the hacker has enough time, motivation and skill he can enter in any system, this is why probably one of the easiest ways we have to protect our coins is simply to remain silent and tell no one about it, if no one knows you have coins then no one will try to hack you, also hackers do two different kind of attacks, high effort and low effort attacks, high effort attacks are reserved for big targets like exchanges, so a regular user that does not use exchanges should not be worried about them, the other type of attack which is low effort but that targets many users at once is what you are more likely to get, but those attacks can be easily avoided if you have the right knowledge about the most common ways to get hacked or scammed.

Once upon a time, I used to think It could be possible for the hack to occur even though you were cautious, but no! All you need do is to secure your private key. Save it where it cannot be found or recognized by someone else, and also, make sure that you trust the tabs that are open on your browsers when you are importing your wallet (for web wallets). If you're using a b app, be careful what app you have installed. They could steal vital info and make you end up as a phising victim.

There are three major mistakes we make, that makes us susceptible to wallet hacks. These are:

1. Not activating 2FA with online wallets. If email confirmation and 2FA is activated, then in 99% of the cases the hacking can be prevented.
2. Clicking on phishing links. If the hackers get to know about your email ID, then they will send phishing emails which looks like they were sent by MEW or Blockchain.com. Once you click on these links, the wallet will be compromised.
3. The laptop or mobile phone which you are using to access the wallet may be compromised with key-loggers. Never use shared machines to access your wallet, and don't allow others to use your personal laptop.

One question a lot of people are asking is whether your Bitcoin wallet can be hacked or not - well, can it? And is there a way to secure these funds?

Well, it really depends on a lot of factors. You should take into account what crypto platform, and what type of wallet was used to get a definite answer. Also, carelessness and hackers should be considered factors too. I can't say much because here in Canada, Netcoins.ca is a very safe and well-regulated exchange platform and I've never heard of any accounts getting hacked or never experienced it myself while using them. I guess you could say that choosing the right platform, lessens the risk of your money being stolen or hacked.

Any wallet can be hacked but if the owner of the wallet knows how to secured their private keys just like passwords, emails and private phrases they can avoid those things and also as long as you are the only person who knows the private keys of your account. Another thing is that you be also careful on clicking different websites because there's a lot of people who are making phishing sites in order to get the information of everyone and it may includes the information of your wallets and seed phrases. So the best thing to do to be more secured is also to be more careful on doing such things.

Remember to use the password of the BTC wallet only there. Don’t utilize the same key in social networks, in e-mail and also don’t write it in notes on your phone. Two-Factor authentication can help you.
Yes it could be made secure our wallet to don't use the same password for all the site .I never face any hacking as i always set the two-factor and also mobile verification .One more thing is so important that we nee to avoid the phishing site as it is the main reason for most of the hacking incident .I think we can be secured by this way .

And only then make a decision, as well as be responsible for your bitcoins

yes I really agree with what you said, the main problem of bitcoin that can be hacked by other people is that because we are not careful in making the security of our bitcoin wallet, we must be careful in our actions and not be careless. if our bitcoin wallet is hacked then we have to remember about the security of our bitcoin wallet, whether it is very safe or not, it all depends on our carefulness in securing our bitcoin wallet.

You have to be specific about "secure it" here, it can mean prevention and recovery.
There are 2 types of bitcoin wallets which have their own advantages and disadvantages. To prevent attacks, it is only necessary to understand the possible methods attackers are using to hack into your bitcoin wallet. The easiest is to use a clean device to store and access a bitcoin wallet. Recovering a hacked wallet can only be done if it is a custodian wallet as you recovered the account, but does not guarantee that funds can be returned.

On the world of computers everything is possible, however as long as you take some common sense precautions the chances you are going to get hacked go down dramatically, for example there are many people storing their coins in the same computer in which they install all kind of pirated software, which as we know is full of viruses, this is not a good idea as sooner or later one of those pieces of software will get your private key or your seed words and you will lose everything, and this could have been avoided by simply not installing such software alongside your own wallet.

I also think that unsafe web browsing habit could have the potential for users to lose their bitcoin from the wallet, as in the case of a PC infected with clipboard malware. We probably can't blame hacker for our own mistake because hacker are always in the gap between user error and getting what they want.

Become silent and never talk or show off your assets to the other if you want to be target for hacking, I think scammer never know with how much assets we have without show to public, but if you ever and popular with show off every time with your assets just waiting for with many fake and spam link to your email account.

As far as I know Bitcoin cannot be hacked as long as no one can know your seed phrase or private key. To secure this, it is better to save or write this one in a piece of paper or somewhere in the cloud that you think is also secured to save personal information. Though there is also a risk of saving files or information over the Internet. To avoid being hacked, just avoid clicking unrecognized emails or websites.

it is not wrong when there are some people who turn to bitcoin, especially for now, many people take advantage of this opportunity to take advantage. But there is actually something wrong when people get interested in bitcoin just because they see other people who are successful in the world of crypto. it felt like the people who participated were like Fomo and the hype they just wanted to join but didn't know how.
specifically for those who have a bitcoin account, can it be hacked or not? of course you can because every bad person must have a lot of dirty ways to seize our accounts. but for now I think bitcoin also has its own ways, such as making double security and using passwords that other people feel unknown and using passwords that are not the same as other account accounts such as social media etc.

Yes. As long as your private key is secure, no one is going to steal your coins. Actually it is not that hard to keep your coins securely. But a lot of people are careless with their wallets, and in such cases, the hackers may find it easy to access your coins. First of all, the basic precautions needs to be followed, such as enabling 2FA. And along with keeping the wallet secure, please keep in mind that properly backing up your wallet is also very important. I have seen a lot of cases where the coins become inaccessible because the user can no longer log-in to the wallet (password forgotten, email access lost.etc).

Correct, this is why another easy way to protect your coins is that if you have an old computer lying around with an old hard drive that has not seen too much action you can always extract it and convert it in an offline storage unit and store your coins there, that way if you do not have your wallet connected to the Internet all the time your coins are going to be very secure as a hacker cannot access something that is not connected to the Internet.

It is so true, a private keys was so important and better that no one knows your seed phrase and much better to have a note or write it down all important details on a secured notebook in which whenever you forget any important details you have a copy of it that you can look back in case. Well, it is much better to keep your keys so privately than keeping your wallet connected online as always because hackers were too good to hacked account so better be safe than sorry.

The best way to protect yourself is to use all the tools that are already invented for us correctly. The main thing is not to store the key on a computer connected to the Internet, since any protection can be bypassed if desired. If you have a large number of bitcoins or other cryptocurrencies, then it is better not to store everything in one wallet, but to split them into several. So the likelihood that everything will be stolen from you at once is reduced. Well, the best way is to use a cold key on an external medium. Some money for safety.

Not that easy and that is the edge that banks still have over Bitcoin. They secure your assets and take responsibility for damages.

I recommand you to use a Ledger; you cand buy it from their official site.

For me, personally, this Ledger is more secure than a digital wallet. Digital wallets are often hacked, this ledger is like a physical stick.
Dont hand that thing to anyone because if it can be opend, probably it can be hacked too. Keep it for yourself, just to be safe.

All cases of hacking and theft have been as a result of direct or indirect carelessness on the part of the owner of the wallet. Cases of hacking are a result of users not keeping their password and seed phrases safe enough.
I believe no one can actually have access to anybody wallet except with access to the seed phrases or passwords. Many people don't keep their seed phrases in secure places and so can be stolen, so to say, and used to gain access into the wallet.

In cryptocurrencies market wallets securities very important and effective. In Cryptocurrency one of the most important thing you have to put in consideration is your wallet security, your wallet can be hacked at any moment if you don't take proper care of your information when creating a wallet address make sure your private key is safe and make sure you don't disclose it to any one, make sure whenever you are saving your private key or password make sure you don't save it on your Gmail or screenshot it on your phone because your Gmail can be easily hacked and your wallet password is at risk and make sure you don't save it as screenshot because anybody can have access to your phone and can extract your password or Private key.

Your wallet can be hacked if you are not that careful on securing your details and information that is bounded within your account and if you have not secure it to the maximum extent of security available into the Bitcoin wallet that you have chosen. Also, it can also be intruded by hackers who happen to create websites and pop ads that you accidentally click while browsing so better get rid of those you can target someone by sending them a malware through emails or links with suspicious origins.

It would really be entirely your responsibility on taking care of your wallet which means you would really be mindful on how to set out those security features and other methods to ensure that it wont really be hacked
by somebody easily.

Stick with non custodial wallets which means you do have the keys of said wallet and as long you do have it then you can always have the access unlike on custodial ones but be mindful that you should
keep it away on other peoples awareness.

Nothing is unhackable but you can make out such steps which would really be strengthen up when it comes to security.

Every human being may have made a mistake or negligence from what they have done. if hackers really want their wallet from what they have, maybe hackers will search continuously for mistakes they have made. You have also made mistakes but you realize it but if you do remember, it will make you do the new security that you have been worried about.

A lot of security is usually created in a wallet by conforming to an email or installing Authenticator. But that's part of the way to secure your wallet from hackers from taking the assets you have. stay careful

Bet would maybe be to use a computer that is to connected to the internet and create paper wallets. The only issue is that you then have to make sure you sufficiently secure those paper wallets. Not that easy and that is the edge that banks still have over Bitcoin. They secure your assets and take responsibility for damages.
If we want to be our own banks then we have no option but to take that responsibility on our backs, and while many people will never be able to do this which will lead to the creation of bitcoin banks many people like us will be able to do it, after all it is not something as hard as some people are making it out to be, just make sure you have a secure OS, verify and install your wallet and have those wallets offline, to me that does not sound hard at all even if I can understand why some people may think it is.

That's it, there is no way around it or nothing will essentially change. If we take our crypto and deposit it at an exchange hoping for them to take care of it, it is still the same as using the banking system. But we have to understand people who do that. Not everyone is comfortable with dealing with private keys yet and I totally understand that. When I got into crypto I felt bad every single time I didn't make a second or third copy of the private key and put it in a safe place or I was afraid of losing or forgetting a password. Now imagine you are an older person not technically literate that much.

of course it can. the possibility is very high when we live in an era like this with very sophisticated technology, everything can happen including hacking is very possible.
but of course we also understand the reasons why we are hacked, most people who are hacked occur because of the carelessness of the owner who is easily tempted by something, for example with a clickbait view or whatever that can make the hacker freely access it.
Be smart in doing something and be careless because it can lead to losses and use minimal multiple security so you can prevent unwanted things

As much as we reap the benefits of Bitcoin and it's one of many catalysts of modern technology, security will always be prevalent especially for those who are not knowledgeable on the concept of cryptocurrency. I've seen some people lose bitcoins because of lack of backups, encryption, or being scammed to provide their private info.

There are many ways to capitalize and safeguard our bitcoin wallet:

- keep a copy of security keys offline
- avoid using 3rd party wallets
- split your wallets
- move funds through hardware instead of internet
- look into fragmented backups
- research hardware wallets

There is always risk where the money is. Do you think banks are safe? The same is true for an investment in Bitcoin. You have to be careful at every step.

They know better but doesn't imply that they are safe already.

I don't think it will be a problem unless he shares his wallet password, wallet key elsewhere, and gives it to anyone. People can try to cheat with the fishing method, you need to be careful with this. Or it may be attempted to obtain a password or key through social engineering. I think it is very unlikely that anything bad will happen after not being fooled by them. password and key should only be with us.

I don't know how. But most likely, I recommend simply using licensed crypto wallets that have passed some security checks - Atomic, Trust,Ownr, Exodus.
There are other better wallets than those. There are those open and closed source wallets that are being used aside from those.

I second the suggestion about hardware wallets, they're one of the best but for bitcoin, there are those desktop wallets like Electrum, Samourai Wallet and Wasabi Wallet.

Unfortunately, in fact, it can be, it can be hacked. I am not spreading the FUD, but hacking is very usual moreover in online.
However, there are also some triggers why our wallet may be hacked by somebody and our assets are lost.
Some may be:
- Exchanges hacked, these several times happen and saving Bitcoin in an exchange wallet is very risky, moreover if it is for long term.
- Saving on an online wallet
- Or saving on a hardware wallet but somebody may know the keys.
That si why always secure and also private our data for the wallet

Yeah it is natural to be afraid once you are the one that has the responsibility of keeping your coins secure and many people are not going to want that kind of responsibility, however for those that do not want to deal with most of technical aspects of securing their coins can do this by buying a hardware wallet, if they do so and they make sure it has not be tampered with then they have a device that can secure their coins very easily, but as we know many people do not use hardware wallets because unlike software wallets they have a cost.

Bitcoin provides a fairly high level of security if we use it well, so in my opinion if you want to store bitcoins for a long time then it's better to use a hardware wallet, because basically hackers always target online wallet users because they can hack more easily.

I don't think your Bitcoin wallet can be hacked as long as you don't show any of your private information related to the wallet. It should be really one of the hardest things for the hackers when it comes to crypto wallets. Decentralized systems are more secure than centralized ones.
That is not the only reason why our wallet got hacked, yeah, obviously if you show off your wallet information publicly then it will et hack, so never share it to anyone and even to your friends. Our crypto wallet can be hacked as well whenever we have downloaded a fake application on our device or we had clicked a malicious link in our device, the virus that we can have for both things can be the reason for us to get hacked because those virus are created by the hackers.

My suggestion to safe my wallet, never download any suspicious from internet whatever that file is. Even for crypto wallet that i must download, i use laptop that different with my main wallet computer and any file like video or maybe softwares that not needed yet i never touch it. Because believe me virus is everywhere, there are virus who know our file, like ransomware or maybe virus that made our clipboard get hacked (like when we copy address, but when we paste it, it changed.

It's all about taking precautions when it comes to your investments in bitcoin and your wallet. If you are always flexing your wallet and being careless with your keys, you will surely be prone to hackers. You should always make sure that the wallet you chose to store your bitcoins are all well trusted and well secured so that you wouldn't have to stress yourself out about experiencing losing most of it. Surely, there will be innovations and development with the wallets used for bitcoin since the hackers are also developing as time passes by. The security should keep up always to ensure safety for it.

If you really want to lower the chances that you get a virus that can steal your coins then I think you need to have a computer completely dedicated to just holding your wallets and never navigate over the Internet with that computer, now this may seem expensive but if you have an old laptop laying around you could install a safe operative system and then install your wallet and never use it for anything else and basically obtain a similar functionality than what you get out of hardware wallets.

Hackers are always trying to explore new ways to hack people's coins. So, the chance of our wallets being hacked is possible. But we can do our best efforts to avoid hackers stealing our coins.

There are some ways to be done:
- Only save coins in the safest wallets
- Save the wallet data in a secure way
- Don't put all coins in a single wallet
- Store coins in hardware wallets

I think those are some proper examples to do. But surely no guarantee that our coins are safe forever.

1. Keep your seeds away on other peoples awareness
2. Dont easily install unknown programs or files in the net
3. Be humble and dont boast up that you do hold crypto
4. Always make out some back ups (partitioning phrases or keys on different places)

There are several which i had mentioned but those are having the same concept or  target which is to secure on your funds.

I believe that with your private keys securely saved offline, you should be safe from any potential hacks on your Bitcoin wallets, othef ERC -20 wallets can be  different scare because i once heard of a friend whose wallet got hacked through his meta mask...

You should always safe your private keys physically offline and in cases of passwords, avoid using Passwords that you also use for your social media profiles

Otherwise people can be censored and excluded from participating in the network.

There are many critics that do not like this but as you said this is a feature, bitcoin is based on different principles than the ones that we have in the current economic system and it is difficult for people to accept this as that is all what they know, but in a way this is no different than what the world was before the advent of modern banking, people on the past kept custody of their coins by themselves and they were responsible of not losing them, it was not until the apparition of modern banking in which this changed, but bitcoin is trying to make people go towards this path again which to me seems to correct path to take.

Offline storage is the safest in my opinion but you have to be careful as to where you are going to hide the keys to access it. If you don't talk about how your passwords you use are the same for any, you won't have trouble that people will be able to piece it together but it is still safer if you use different password for different platforms.

Very true, many people are very ignorant about the subject, if you go around telling people that you own bitcoin they may think you are a billionaire that bought his coins roughly when bitcoin was released and this is not the case for the majority, you may hold a small amount of bitcoin and that is it, so you are putting a big target on your back when the easiest way to protect your coins is to tell no one that you have them and play dumb when someone asks you about bitcoin.

I think that technically it is more difficult to do it than it seems to someone. But people are most often to blame for such hacking of their wallets.
This is due to trivial reasons, for example, I heard cases when a person copied his password instead of an address, which is visually similar in the number of characters to the address. And then he swore at the technical support service and so on. You need to be careful and not fuss when you make such movements.

It is many times more likely that people are going to get scammed than hacked, this is simply because people are always trying to find new ways of making some easy and fast profits and scammers know this so they make all kind of promises and investment products and people give their coins voluntarily to them, hacking someone is way more complex and even then the most common hack is simply to use a phishing site or to deceive people in downloading software that installs a virus and the hacker can get the passwords and private keys of the victim that way.

^ Being careless will most likely fall into this trap, scammers are everywhere not only in crypto, if you don't have technical knowledge on making and how to manage your BTC wallet, it mots likely end up of scam. Newbies on crypto should know these possible consequences ahead to avoid a possible scam and become their victims. Any BTC wallets can be hacked, even how we put double or triple security but if we lost the private key there will be always a chance that hackers may recover our wallet. Be responsible for keeping your crypto stuff.

Very bad experience, in 2017.

I was Using the Blockchain dot com web wallet service, by importing private keys of my own bitcoin wallet generated using a paper wallet.

But, I was become a victim of hack, as I personally notice some suspicious activities on my wallet. As there were some upsent without my acknowledgment.

After identifying suspicious activities of smaller payments in my account, even the sent address was also unknown. I, immediately, transfer my funds to a new desktop electrum wallet which is on my desktop with complete safety and control.

My past experience with incidents that happened in past, always teaches about vulnerability, possible overcome, and challenges.

So always be secure, and safe while using Cryptocurrencies.

The problem is I would assume that the person having access to your blockchain dot com wallet could also have access to your machine in general and hence to your electrum wallet. Usually I deem blockchain dot com a safe web wallet service. Also, why wouldn't the hacker move the whole amount on the wallet at once? What is the point in moving incremental amounts?

Online wallets are without a doubt the most unsafe of all and the risks of getting hacked are very high, however many newbies do not understand this and I do not blame them, I know this because when I was a newbie I also used online wallets as they seemed more practical at the time and after a few bad experiences, I did not lost money or anything but I was close to losing access to my coins, then I decided to move my coins to my own wallet and since then I have never looked back.

You can store the password in the paper version of your notebook or on a computer without a network connection. Be careful not to lose it. If the Internet can get your password, you can set different passwords on different platforms, and you must remember your password!

My bitcoin wallet has not been hacked. It exists in a cold wallet.
As long as you don't disclose your private key to others, hackers can't invade.
I still believe in the security protection of bitcoin. :)

Even if you do not give out your private carelessly, simply making silly mistake by connecting your network to phishing WiFi results to the lost of your bitcoin by scammers who search in your device looking for your private keys, so you can win the hackers by storing your funds offline as this is the best way of keeping your secret keys.

indeed many have experienced things that are not wearing with the use of a wallet, but from many situations that I have seen, it is all due to the person's personal error so that the private key can be hacked, compared to the weakness of the wallet. because I feel that what has been made because it is based on security is acclaimed very good.
but when compared to offline wallets, it is clear that you can't compare anymore because offline ones are certainly more secure and can be recognized for their security so far.
but there are still many of us who can't go offline because they are constrained by costs.

You can use your brain to remember the password and record it on a paper notebook or a computer without an Internet connection, but remember to save it. Once you lose it, your wealth may be discovered by others.

Also storing your coins offline is not completely secure either, if you bring unknown persons to your house if someone happens to find the paper where you have your seed words or private key they could steal it from you and then steal your coins, this is why securing your coins is not an easy thing at all but we must find a way to do so otherwise hackers are going to get to our coins and that is obviously something we do not want to happen.

There are all kinds of ways where you can fuck up even if you keep your paper wallet and your house. Let it burn down or whatever, spill some water over it while typing the keyboard. Let your dog eat your paper wallet with 500 BTC on it. :D
It requires caution no matter where you keep it. One thing is for sure: if you keep paper wallets or hardware wallets at home, never talk about it to anyone. That is the worst you can do.

Agreed, I would argue that even talking about bitcoin is a risk right now, after all with the high price of bitcoin if you were to tell people that you have been in bitcoin for years they may believe that you are holding a lot of bitcoin and then try to find a way to steal your coins when you in fact are only a small holder, so it is better to keep that information a secret so no one gets a clue about the fact you are holding some bitcoin.

Don't rely on your "brain"(memory) to remember the password. That's is the worst mistake you can make. No matter how good your memory is, don't forget, as you age, you brain starts to deteriorarte (cells slowly dies) and your memory won't be as sharp as it used to be. You will end up either forgetting or mixing up everything and then there goes your fortune. Use your memory, and keep multiple backups, digitally and offline in a safe and secure place!

Just relying on memorization of your password is truly insane since whatever how good you are possibly you will forget that especially if you have so many password saved on different platforms, I'm sure we have so many password set since we are on crypto and registering on many platform like exchange and others are kinds required to make a profits so for that to avoid such dumb mistake is to store our passwords on safe areas like what you recommended and also write it on notebooks is also safe since its away from attackers who stole our account details.

Actually, I'm one of those people who memorize important numbers, such as mobile phone numbers, bank accounts, email passwords,
and some password exchanges. I do like memorizing important things, but I also make backups of all the passwords I've memorized,
by writing it on a piece of paper and I keep it in a safe place. Just in case one day I forget it, therefore in my opinion there is nothing
wrong if we want to try to memorize our Bitcoin wallet password or other important passwords. But remember our brain has limitations,
so always have a backup plan.

Yes even worse you could attract some serious hardcore burglars! If they get to know that you have paper wallets at home and have some idea that you might be holding tens or even hundreds of Bitcoin, good night man. They could be coming for you and they won't be nice to you.

The only problem with relying on your memory is that most likely then you are using words or something similar for your passwords and hackers can easily hack those kind of passwords, unless you are using several words similar to what we see with our seed words, however I see that you also write your passwords in the case you forget and that is a great thing to do because there have been many instances in which for some reason I completely forgot an important password and then I had to look everywhere for the paper in which I knew I had written that password.

Most of the time I am using a mobile wallet. First, I am using password before opening the mobile application. Then I am setting a password that contains alphanumeric and special characters. Third is am using a two factor authentication for extra security. Fourth, websites that I visit the most is bookmarked to avoid clicking the wrong link. Online transactions are always risky. I am still afraid when I am transferring or even viewing my wallets so I do not install much applications nor visit an unknown sites

I think all wallets can be hacked if we as owners are not careful in connecting our wallets by clicking on phisshy and scammy links or emails which can install malware in your software and you lose access to your wallet and funds. ,

Hacked maybe not. Most of us we compromise the security of our crypto wallets by the way we use our devices, some of us have either rooted or jailbroken our devices which is the first step of weakening a device primary security. If this isn't it it could be clicking anything that comes our way which shouldn't be the case, others desire to hide their identity costs us through the use of VPNs which could have some else intercept this our information using these vpns so as a precaution I try to do the opposite not to get hacked.

I'm pretty sure a lot of replies have been focused on 2FA, and I do agree that 2FA gives us the best security we can get for our wallets, same with digital fiat wallets, 2FA gives us good security, but we're still vulnerable of getting robbed if we'll only rely on 2FA, you still have to be knowledgeable around the internet, avoid clicking suspicious links or files, we're still at risk and the internet is filled with hackers, we're not safe but we can at least prevent some things to happen.

If anyone is using "localbitcoin" site to save your btc, or any other exchanges which have to be logged in on desktop with their URL, then be more cautious when entering the URL on the URL bar on any browsers. Make sure the URL is logged in on a secured environment. the URL should start with "HTTPS". I remember, my wallet was hacked few years back. I then checked the URL. It was very similar to the original. The url was not securely connected. So keep an eye on it.

Hacking occurs through phishing sites where they get your data's from your phone. They are good at identifying where anyone is securing their private keys or recovery phrase. I recommend not to put these ones on your FB or emails for future purposes. Better if we secure it by hand writing and put it in a secure box. Other than this, there's no one that could hack in to it.

I lost dollars from my bitcoin as a result of losing my mobile phone. Because I used Trust Wallet, once you trust Login, you don't need to login again. So Once a device is lost, any cryptocurrency user can use Bitcoin from a lost device.

Didn't you save your recovery phrase of your trust wallet before? If you did it, you can recover it on other devices as soon as you noticed that you have just lost your phone.

I'm not that familiar with trust wallet, but afaik there is also 2fa security system on trust wallet (correct me if I'm wrong). It is also a must step to secure your wallet but in case of losing your phone where you have your wallet and authenticator, the other you should do is to have difficult password to open your phone.

Bitcoin wallets on exchanges are usually easy to hack. I've experienced losing bitcoin assets on an exchange, but after that I chose to replace the asset storage in a hardware wallet and it's safer

Yes of course your wallet can be hacked, actually there are some cases regarding that already but most of them are because of the carelessness of the owner though. Like clicking phising website, willingly input the data of the wallet to scammers, and such. Everything in the internet is vulnerable to hackers, we just need to be careful, don't believe suspicious websites or people, never give any important detail and information, keep our wallet key or password in safe place, and always be cautious. There are so many things we can do to prevent it getting hacked for sure.

It depends upon you completely.
If you using online 3rd party wallets where you don’t have complete access on your private key, then more chances are there that the wallet will be hacked.
But it’s quite difficult to hack if you store your Bitcoins in hardware wallet and until and unless you share your Private key with someone else.
Hope this helps you buddy.

If you don’t know how much money is in your wallet, there is no frequent transaction. Your wallet will not be attacked.
Generally hackers will attack the wallets of some whales.
You still have to manage your own wallet. Don't give your private key to anyone. Don't trust third parties.

The wallet that you installed on your mobile phone is often poorly protected, and if you lose access to your device, be ready to immediately transfer your coins out of corresponding compromised keys. Most mobile wallets are encrypted and protected with numerical PIN codes, but such protection is not sufficient in the case when huge amounts of money are involved.

Recently, some guy revealed (https://vrls.ws/posts/2021/08/samourai-wallet-bitcoin-pin-authentication-bypass-crypto/) a vulnerability in Samourai Wallet, which basically allows a hacker (provided that he has direct access to your mobile phone) to brute-force your PIN and therefore decrypt your wallet easily. Bruteforcing takes time, that's right. However, if you utilize your mobile phone as a cold storage or hardware wallet and keep it in no-so-secret-place, hacker's manipulations may go unnoticed, and you may lose your funds.
