April Fool's is coming, we are on the internet so we should atleast expect something fun again despite of having a very long Pandemic scene and whatsoever viruses are being discovered nowadays, right?

In this 1st April theymos is going to fulfill your wishes. He is going to ask your delivery addresses to post your items. So start thinking about the gift you want from him and PM him the postal address.  

I heard there is going to be a new "banner" option on this site to compliment the flag and feedback options.  This will launch the new tent pole trust network as it is made up of 3 different factors.  Sure, you might say it's redundant, but this will finally solve all of the bitcointalk trust issues.  If you thought the addition of flags was cool, just wait until you see the new banners!  

In my opinion the KYC fool was kind of shocking and actually I thought about a sec why we need KYC fir bitcointalk but then I remember what is the day and I guess it happened 2019? Right?

I am also waiting for the surprise gift on April 1.

As I remember, previous year bitcointalk had no special even on April Fools day due to covid-19. Since then, nothing much has changed. Yes, we have no vaccine, but the is still strong and kills. That is why I think this year will be the same. There is not really much to make fun of  :-\

I think you were asleep during the April Fools last year, Virus was spread all over the internet and yet many of us wanted it LoL.

This is actually a joke that Theymos used prior to April 1 some years ago. It turned out to be not true.

No matter what, theymos will definitely comes with up new tactic to impress forum members. To be honest I have been scared such April's Fool's message earlier but indeed it's part of fun. Anyway, we're experienced enough how to deal with it so let's wait how unique this April Fool could be..

The virus spread was pretty epic, Sadly I doubt the same thing would repeat twice though.

Basically how it works is when someone gives mold to another user, the recipient is unable to enter a character on the keyboard. More mold, less characters to enter.

It obvious now that whatever changes in the forum or rules theymos bring in the forum on April 1st will be part of the april fool joke. I wonder if he really implement some new changes in the forum rules / rank up requirements on 1st April but they are not a joke.  :D 
People wont take it seriously but after April 1st they will realize it was not April fool prank.

Last year it was about virus as we were suffering from pandemic. This year we are in a bull run so what can we expect  ;D

To me too it was the best. Everyone got caught in it. There were this disappointment to users around that their life is gone and they will never reach the next rank.

Introducing payment for a post would be really funny. Convert bitcointalk to cryptotalk-like-forum.
But make special criteria for payment. Like posts in off-topic are getting paid only. To make it easier to clean that all crap later.

hard to guess(at least for me) what theymos have in mind for this year's April fools. last year's April fools were expected that it would be related to the pandemic and I personally loved that since it reminded members(i hope it did remind them) how easy a virus can spread without proper precautions. I hope this year's April fools would also be education, of course apart from it being fun/funny.

While NFTs are trending a lot, I also had a thought whether theymos would say that he will be adding high-end limited edition NFTs on each users profile and let them sell their accounts for millions of dollars.  8)
I know that sales of accounts are not encouraged here, but old users like AccountSeller will be those who will try to take the best advantage of this and sell their accounts to may be Elon Musk, Jack Dorsey or even to Craig Wright. Lol what would happen if theymos auction's Satoshi's account on April fool's day?  ::)

Bah, there's been some sort of April Fool's joke ever since I've been a member here (or at least that I can remember) and every year someone spoils the surprise by making a thread like this.  It's so much more amusing when you've got newbies pulling their hair out over some new ranking system or whatnot, but when people start discussing the joke ahead of time, well, it loses a lot of its purpose.

Now, this epochtalk thing....that's the perpetual joke if you ask me.  I don't even know what epochtalk is except that the current version of bitcointalk is supposedly going to be replaced with it.  But knowing that everything on the web has a shelf life, I'd have to surmise that by the time Theymos does roll out the new forum software it'll already be quaint and outdated, much as what we've now got is (and has been for years). 

But hey, you know me.  I'm a tech-idiot, so there's about an 85% chance that I have no idea what I'm talking about when it comes to crap like that.

What I would like to see is theymos introducing some big change on the forum and exactly on April 1st so everyone thinks that's just some prank and everything will go back as it was before. But then as April 1st passes, people are slowly realizing that's not just a prank, but the real thing :D

But yes, technically it's very difficult to implement because it would require to change all profile pictures. ^^

Theymos should announce that the new forum is ready and post a link to a brand new forum with awful design and even older forum software. All users are required to copy and paste all their posts from Bitcointalk chronologically if they want to keep their current rank. Of course the source to their original Bitcointalk post has to be added at the bottom. Make an announcement on Meta and instruct users to report any problems they encounter. Sit back and watch as people lose their shit.

I really wish this particularly will be the April fool prank. It will be so funny considering the so much discussion of Epochtalk and how long it had taken. More people who won't be pleased are the good members that contributed for the project.

KYC in Bitcointalk will be a great idea.

Theymos could transfer a couple BTC to to my BTC address for April fools. Ready to be the butt of the joke and I promise I won't even complain.

I've been here for several years and really appreciate theymos creativity in welcoming 'April Fools' Day, don't know what else theymos will do but I'm sure it will be very entertaining.
