It's always a question of speculation if we buy Bitcoin or if we buy Altcoin.
For a profitable buy, we need to know what new people will buy.

Bitcoin is already well known but also trusted. Not many new people will discover it but people will buy more constantly because it's trusted.
Altcoins are not very well known (except Ethereum) but also not very trusted. Many new people will discover it but will be hesistant to buy because it's not very trusted.

For a prediction, which one new people will buy more, we can only guess.
What is your opinion, which one will bring uns more profits? Altcoins or Bitcoin?

Based on my experience I could definitely say altcoins are more profitable than bitcoin. Yes I earned good multiplier on some projects on the altcoins choices sometime more than 5x to 10x and its gonna hard or take a longer time to earn that on bitcoin but I didn't say it can't but its taking a while compared to altcoins that can boost so fast especially when there is hype involved.

Crypto investor are earning more money to the altcoins compared to the bitcoin, because the altcoins the value is cheaper to the bitcoin so the times of increasing is high than the bitcoin who is possible to double up the value and after that the price will down for sure. Altcoin will give you a lot of profit because the times of your capital that possible to gain. But I suggest to the new crypto user to invest also to the bitcoin which is more safe and if you are searching altcoins ethereum, binance and xrp is your choice now.

in my opinion there are still many profitable altcoins but the movement of altcoins also depends on the condition of bitcoin, but for good investment for both

New people who are really interested in cryptocurrency will probably buy Bitcoin first before entering into the altcoin arena. When I first heard of cryptocurrency, it was Bitcoin which was the first thing that I encountered. It was just later on that I learned that there was such as thing as Ethereum (ETH) and other altcoins.

Getting into crypto means you are thinking of the least risk with a certain profit and you will therefore choose Bitcoin. When you become more and more familiar with crypto, it is then that you will venture into something else with higher risk for possible higher profit.

I think many people enter into crypto with bitcoin only. But sooner they find it easy to enrol into different ico projects and get free altcoins. It’s just that everyone wants to have free money and then comes the bounties and airdrop. Now this is just about the bitcointalk forum people. Since not all of them are on this forum they could be buying the top 10 altcoins most preferably. I would imagine some blind investment going on with pump dump groups where noobs mostly fall for low valued coins and high yield profits. So I don’t think that there is perfect name for the coin which they will be buying.

If they are smart then they will go with Bitcoin. There are a lot of people who will end up buying altcoins because they don't know any better. There are people who buy dogecoin simply because Elon Musk is talking about it or because it's trendy to do so. It's in their best interest to ignore the marketing behind altcoins and do their research so they can see why BTC is their best option.

Buying altcoin instead of bitcoin will be more profitable in the sense that in 100USD capital, it can be double in a short period of time, or higher if you know what you are doing and when to release token when it's profitable, everyone knows that when your capital is doubled or triple its already a profit, just make sure that greed is not in your mind when investing it will destroy your dreams I'm sure about that.

Obviously altcoins and not because they're the best or whatever but simply because of greed and hunger for quick money that's why majority of the new comers ar chasing after the altcoins which result to new projects popping up by the day because the developers know patronizers are waiting on the other end. If you're investing in altcoins, you should always do your due diligence because the market is very unstable.

With bitcoin investment, your funds are somehow secure due to the fact, bitcoin isn't going anywhere anything soon and the whole industry resolve around it but with altcoins, that particular one topping charts today can be no where to be found in couple of weeks, months etc.

Excluding the institutional investors, Bitcoin is above many new comers budget so they settle for less especially those that have interest in owning whole coins instead of fractions.

Next to it will be Ethereum.
Then, that is where they will decide what will be next after having funds from the 2 big names which can be used to buy altcoins.
Naturally, if the buyer is not well versed about other currencies then it will be the one which is on hype.
BNB for example or Doge that had been hyped by Elon Musk before.

I agree. I also earned a lot of profit in altcoin compared to Bitcoin. Though as you said, bitcoin is very much popular, new people or investor wouldn't simply seek for a popular coin but they would rather look for a coin that can give them much more profit, and I think that is altcoin.

Though, some people would also invest on some undervalued tokens in the market, that can sometimes gave them even a lot more profit (sometimes almost 100x) but you can't simply tell what token is it. But I assume new comers will also take their risk on that. So maybe, they will also seek for undervalued coins.

I believe that not so many people know about Bitcoin as you think. Many simply heard about it but did not use it until now. Many people won't take risks in a new business for themselves and buy new coins.

I am sure most of the people will start by investing in bitcoin. most probably XRP. for newcomers in crypto in my country, it's the first altcoin they would know besides ETH, these two are the ones they could see on the remittance app that they could convert directly to our local cash. Both ETH and XRP. people today are going to be looking for investment and if they would look harder they may learn POS coins which generate income as well.

which gonna bring more profits? Uhm in my opinion, actually both can bring us more profits to be honest.. Wherein even alts are not trusted due to some scams accusations, but indeed there still some alternative coins out there that can make us profitable especially projects listed on some top exchanges base on my experience . So to avoid losses in some alts.. I suggest to bear in your mind that putting money in new listing projects are not safe. Much better to focus on some trusted one wherein for sure there's a good return  after all your efforts.. Don't ever push your self and take all the risk when it comes investing to crypto (exceptBTC) so be aware especially if you don't have specific information.

I guess mostly newbies will buy bitcoin because of course bitcoin is a popular cryptocurrency but if they buying altcoins then I guess those were shit coins you know because many new coins popping in advertisements and promised that they can make more money if they invested it, that is so risky if they do not research the project.

Because this is a very logical question, then I will answer with a very logical answer as well, purchases that can give a lot of profit are still in Bitcoin, after that in Altcoin, because those who can't afford to buy in one unit of Bitcoin can still get quite a profit, especially for investors who usually make purchases of up to 10 units of bitcoin in one day, the benefits are truly extraordinary.

Bitcoin and altcoins will bring us profit, but it is hard to predict, bigger between bitcoin or altcoin. I already sold my bitcoin at many prices, and I also sold some of my altcoin, which reached new ATH. It would depend on what crypto the newbie would know first,
I know some people who got into alt-coin first before knowing Bitcoin so they bought alt-coin first.
But I think most of the newbie would go into Bitcoin since it is the most well known crypto.
And when it comes to profit they could gain more in alt but they should also consider the risk.

When I was a newbie it was Bitcoin that I was looking for.
But that was years ago. Altcoins are really not that popular at that time and I really have no idea about them.

This era is different. They could start from anywhere. It could be Ethereum or even BNB first since they need it to buy another coin they prefer.
It could also be one of the reasons why BNB is having success right now. They extended their way into marketing their coin instead of just the exchange itself.

We can't also judge newbies why they grab altcoins than bitcoin which for me was the best cryptocurrency if their budget wasn't enoigh to buy bitcoin as their starting crypto on themselves. Based on my experience, I could say that altcoin is more profitable than Bitcoin but for new investors, it's advisable to choose Bitcoin first. I think that there are crypto investors that earn very much with altcoins if you compare their performance with Bitcoin. Because of the cheap price versus the Bitcoin and also the hope it gives many people who thinks it is late to enter in Bitcoin and can no longer buy Bitcoins. I think the alts give you lots of chances to earn when you treat your investment very seriously and you have done something like a home work to know more about the coins.

Well, it's a matter of multiple factors. For example, coins that are advertised and spoken more about make it more probable for others to invest in them or at least look them up first. But then it depends.. for example, I find some stuff much harder to comprehend for one coin compared to another. For example, ETH's fees are way harder to understand than BTC's. From this point of view, Bitcoin might be under advantage. It all depends on what newbies are looking for, and it seems right now that decentralization and security are a lower priority for them than price and hype is. As long as it's easy to use and has potential or is hyped well enough, it's a green light for them.

Some altcoins are really pumping now and they look good for use. Altcoins like curio is doing great and could be good for investment. Curio has been good after it went to exchange but a little quiet. It started doing well after the team kept improving the coin, I knew when it was around 0.30$ but now currently hitting $5 and resting at $4+. It is likely to continue the good run, it has very low supply too.

Interestingly all the newbies I have faced ended up buying stuff that wasn't bitcoin inside the week they get in. They see that bitcoin went up a lot already and they think they have missed their chances, they see that some other coins made like 500% return in a month, and they come to conclusion that they should probably invest into something that is like that.

So, they end up buying weird coins that I have never heard of, and never invested before. Do not get me wrong I have been here for around 8 years now, I learned what "pi" coin is and what "holo" coin is and what "chilliz" is all from people who have been around less than 2 months. Which is why I think it is quite obvious that I do not care about low level coins and that is why I end up investing into high level coins but do that at the right times and make more money than those people anyway.

In the crypto market, profit always comes with risks. If you buy Bicoin the risk is low and the return is low, if you buy altcoin you will most likely get a big return but the risk is also very large on your investment.

Usually new comer will buy bitcoin ( if the new comer is rich guy ), and another coin which new comer buying is speculation or even ponzi coin. They are does not have any knowledge about what crypto is. Thats why moat of them fall in to scam project.

It is difficult for bitcoin to be twice as profitable, but there are many altcoins that are 5x or 10x more profitable overnight.

Newcomers in crypto are more often than not exposed to quick/fast profits in Altcoin, but majority of them forget that many of the altcoins in the network are pump and dump/shitcoins, thus it should not be which coins newcomers will buy more, but the coin that they ought to buy, and imo, Bitcoin is the better choice for a newcomer in cryptocurrencies, then as time goes on, one could buy maybe one or two other alts to add to their portfolio.

Having said that, my point exactly is that a newcomer should not immediately start looking for the coin(s) that'll bring the most profit, but should choose the most sustainable coin for the long term profits, Bitcoin is a hedge against fiat currency, it's users have freedom and control, with the influx of institutional investors, it's also heading to mainstream adoption; and in the long run will provide more profits than most altcoins that'll prolly fall short in the long term.

To be conclusive, it depends on the goal of each investor. Some particularly just doesn't want to wait to get their earnings, that's why they tend to go with alts. One factor that surrounds them will be mostly scams, like of course.

I think new people will like to buy altcoins. Not just any type of altcoins but those altcoins within the cent (less than a dollar altcoin) region once the alts season sets in. I know this from experience. A lot of new people will view the more expensive altcoins way out of their reach and then make a go for those in cents, believing that the cheap altcoins will also rise like those out of their reach. This is an error of thought which a lot of them will get to learn the hard way later. There were certain altcoins I bought as a newbie in 2017 that have gone extinct now and my hard earned cash gone down the drains.

The major reason people buy or trade Bitcoin is because it's a coin that won't disappear overnight. Even when it crashes heavily like we saw in 2018/19, it will resurrect. Altcoins (apart from ETH) are a greater risk than Bitcoin but they give a better ROI than Bitcoin..

If you only have a small amount of capital then buying altcoins seems to be a better choice, as the small amount of capital invested in bitcoin does not seem to bring you too much profit.
But if your capital is large, investing too much in altcoins may seem like an unwise action, altcoins are very volatile and you could lose your money.
Personally, I think splitting the capital and investing in both BTC and altcoin seems to be the best choice.

Well, for men, in my opinion, I think whether bitcoin or altcoin, there will always be buyers for both, Infact, me as in person,i dont so much like buying bitcoins cus its already too expensive and can't afford as much as I want, but altcoins, alot of them are still very cheap and capable of transforming ones life if the right ones are chosen to invest in, I think all have to do with mentality and ones financial capabilities, those capable of buying up to 1 or 10 bitcoins at once will always choose bitcoin, but those who can't even afford 0.05 bitcoins would rather choose to put their money in altcoins which is much more affordable.

It's pretty easy to tell bitcoin and Ethereum is just way safe investment because it more guarantees to give you profit but a lot lower profit compared to altcoins because it already has a high market price in the market. Altcoin investment is high risk and high reward investment because if you invested in this low market cap token you could easily give you a 10x or even more if the token you invested in is gonna blow app you could easily buy a high volume of that token when the price is low and it has a higher chance to blow up to x10 since it only needs a small amount of market cap.

For beginner traders, it is recommended to play in the well-known alt.coin, ethereum, cardano. besides the price is not as expensive as bitcoin. These alt coins can be used for short-term or long-term trading.

I've once got a profit of more or less $500 from altcoin in capital $100 and that was big when it compared to Bitcoin or even in the top altcoins. But I believe it was just a lucky choice of the coin because it was not known and the volume was almost zero the time I bought it. May I say that the sudden hypes during the bullish give help for altcoins holders to double and triple their money but if we are in the bear season, I doubted if we can make it.

Aside from eth, I can see that BNB is a good addition to your portfolio. Their BSC platform is now getting busy because of these new projects. Sooner or later, BNB will improve more in the market. They can easily reach $300 in few months if the interest in BSC platform will continue to increase. But this is just my opinion, you can also do the assessment on your own. Newbies are tend to buy a hype project since they believe that they can easily make money in the market, and that’s why they don’t want to Buy bitcoin at first but the moment they started to lose money, I’m sure they’ll look for s better project and that is the time for them to buy Bitcoin.

We don’t need new people just to lose their trust and money in this market, and that’s why I encourage everyone to start learning bitcoin and altcoins first before investing, I can’t say any good project to buy for this should always depend on the analysis of every newbies.

It is likely always happening to the newcomers into crypto that commonly, really common, they will buy a coin that is pumping and also in high hype. Many newcomers will be FOMO and also hype following certain people especially a popular public figure, businessman, and also influencer.
And they commonly will be entering and buying some coins that are at a high price, so, it is like they become a victim of FOMO itself. This also makes many newcomers become stressed because their funds are dropping and decreasing because of the falling price and they are starting to panic sell.

I agree with you, I did witness some new people into crypto currency call crypto Bitcoin because that is the first Name they would know about cryptocurrencies and would also probably firstly invest in Bitcoin too than any other alts but we all agree that if you have been in the market for a while, you would have done some research that would make you invest in some other alts instead of Bitcoin and same for referred investors.

Bitcoin it's still better, It's depends on which you want? For Stable Profits Bitcoin is much better than altcoins, The price movement not really much and you can get some small profit from Bitcoin but if you are want to Higher Profit with high risk then Altcoins it's good to goo, The price can easily go to 50-100% in one day but it's also can fall instantly. Coin with lower market cap usually can bring more profit due to its volatility but also carries a really high risk, that's why it's obvious that alt could bring you more profit but tbh the profit gained from investing to bitcoin is already very high if you invested from a year ago,
so whether people gonna choose to invest to alt or bitcoin doesn't matter that much in my opinion but it's just if you want to add risk percentage to your portfolio like significantly then alt is the way to go, though I'd always prefer to keep the risk at bay.

If you  take a look at the new coins, amount of them is absolutley crazy now. Coins are coming out every few hours, seriously. Most of them do not do ICO, presale, nothing. They just make website, telegram and launch them on pancake swap or uniswap. Most of them do not have real case usage are just a meme coin . In any case the returns on most of them are staggring and in the same time very risky.

In short, altcoins are geenrated huge returns daily, while BTC is relatively slow and stable.

And this "quick and easy" is what makes them lose money. They barely tries to make a research of they intend to buy, and they dont even know that they must read something about what they are buying.

Bitcoin is too popular than the other coins, and when people discuss crypto, they will mostly discuss bitcoin, which can make other people curious. If they invest in bitcoin blindly and only follow people who they do not know for sure, they will lose their money because they do not learn by themselves. Even if they want to invest in bitcoin, they need to find how to buy bitcoin at the right time, although they can invest at any price they want. If they can use bitcoin with the right, they will have a chance to make a profit.

Most new people can not accept the process because they want to make money fast. That is why many of them fail in the middle of the way, and they do not want to go back to the crypto because they think that crypto scams them. If they can learn more about bitcoin, they will see that bitcoin is the best investment now, and if they can invest in bitcoin with the right, they can make money in the future.

The booming of bitcoin gives people more ways to buy bitcoin and I am sure people will find what services will fit them. Bitcoin can still increase while altcoin will increase too. I am sure that many potential altcoins will have the new ATH again. But I do not use the services as you mention.

Cardano is a great altcoin. ADA simply broke in like a hurricane in cryptocurrency top. And I think it does not opened its full potential yet. I would not recommend to go all-in in ADA, but having this altcoin in portfolio is a must. While the price goes here and there, you can catch a good price and become a holder for 6-12 months. I'm sure you will multiply investments 2 times minimum.

For the people with no knowledge and planning to make a fortune, they'll definitely buy bitcoin. It's the first coin, and they will feel safe in it. Altcoin buys are which are recent projects will be a big risk if they have no experience at all. They'll just be food in here and people will take advantage of them. For thr meantime they invest in bitcoin and should learn about everything else, or they will suffer consequences if they jump into altcoins immediately.

In my opinion it's altcoins, but in needs more research and study that that certain project is reliable and can be trusted.

Bitcoin. Talk to someone who doesn't even know what crypto is or just heard of it and they'll tell you that they might be familiar with bitcoin. It's the most common cryptocurrencies and they're not going to look at any altcoins in the market unless they've got experience with bitcoin. But if they find it expensive and they're aware that they can still go along with the market then they might choose altcoin as the second option.

I have 3 years in the crypto market. Not much time, but quite enough to find the best. Go with bitcoin if you're not worried about active spending. If time is pumped, altcoins can also achieve big dreams. for example, if bitcoin generates 52k% then ETH also makes 60k% of profits until now. and BNB is creating the wind for the new trend.

The first recommendation to new joiners to crypto are btc and eth since like you said already has a track record and trusted by all, now as a newbie, it will be hard to know which alts to buy alongside with the already known btc & eth, and that's when app like cmc comes into to play for those who understand how it works, and for those who don't, well asking friends who are also into crypto or ask in forum like this will gives some closure on what to do,
in any case, better to stick with some of the highly talked about alts with good potentials to be on a somewhat safe side.

and it's not bitcoin alone, this misconception needs to understand well, newbies are always prone to scam so advising them to stick with bitcoin while still in the process of learning more deeper might help them to stay on  a much lesser risk.

That's the point mate, when bitcoin gets pumped and almost whole of market will give a bullish reaction. The majority of new people were only betting on the trusted coins and that's why they were not able getting huge profit from the market.
BNB is on another level as the coin with so many usability compared with another coin in the same tier.
The new people will be buying bitcoin and they will be putting small amount of their money to be used on the new project.


Bitcoin is good but the small fish will always pick the secondary coin that has less value than bitcoin.

It's always best to have a diversified portfolio with bitcoin and altcoins. Bitcoin must be your first choice of investment, as its trusted for over a decade. Put some of your money in solid alt coins like eth, polkadot etc. If you have a portfolio of different crypto then you will be getting profit all the time.

There are two sides of this question. How new people pick coins when they decide to invest? And which coins would make higher gains for new people that don't have enough Bitcoin to invest?
For the first part, people usually follow others and wherever the hype is around people will go that way. Too many influencers are in this business and they can shill whatever coin they hold to new people. This is very dangerous though.
On another part, new people want to make higher profits, so they have to choose coins with lower marketcap value. This one is obviously hard to pick and too risky.

On practicality and being street wise, many people are getting more profitable on having Altcoins into their portfolio compared to Bitcoin because at first, they will be having such coin at its base price that still do have lots of potential to grow in the near future. Since you are having it while it is cheap and you know its potential to grow, then more profit is expected compared to Bitcoin having already an expensive price if you tend to start up by this moment that it is on the top. But you do not need to choose among Bitcoin and Altcoins if you can just have them both and that will make you more profitable combining those two instead of just dominating your portfolio with only Bitcoin or only Altcoins. Better to have them both.
