Title: Should akash07 deserves to be tagged or not?
Post by: Charles-Tim on March 30, 2021, 10:02:45 PM
akash07 (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3259774) just opened an account less than 3 hours ago and posting about recovery service, referring people to add him on telegram. Should this be considered as a means to scam and his account be tagged? In my opinion, I am only seeing this as a means to scam.

Is it a self moderated thread?? If so i would first post in the thread a warning and state if deleted i will leave negative feedback.

If it's not self moderated or locked and unlocked for replies then post a warning in the thread. I would also leave neutral feedback, until it's more than a hunch.

I also assume this will end in a scam but there has to be a few red flags for me to just immediately tag and flag. I'm on mobile but will check it out later .

It's likely scam though they claim that you won't ask for payment until they recover the funds which makes me wonder what's the guarantee that they won't just run off with your BTC once they recover it.

A warning on his profile could be Ok, a neutral for now as reference perhaps.

I have also seen that the person is spamming in different threads with his off topic recovery service post. You can report the posts to the mods as off topic to be deleted.

Should you tag him?  No.  I would report a couple of those posts to the moderators with a note telling them what he's doing, which is spamming.  Let them take care of the problem, which will likely result in the account being banned.  I seriously doubt that member created an account here to do anything other than promote whatever it is he's promoting.  Giving him a tag is just a useless gesture that won't solve the problem.

A warning on his profile could be Ok, a neutral for now as reference perhaps.
Nah, it might not be against the rules to do that but it would be far better to report this crap to the mods.

I think better solution is putting a neutral tag on his profile so that anyone interested can see the possible outcome. It’s most probably scam in my opinion too but negative tag? no at the moment.

For now most of his post deserved to be deleted for spamming and it already happened. I don't know how it is possible to recover the passphrase of bitcoin wallet so lets wait and see how he is doing it. As mentioned above leave a warning message with a neutral tag should be enough.

Not only this forum but also this user has started promoting this service on twitter also. https://twitter.com/AkashSh49701951

To be honest we have no proof that the user has scamming someone. Or someone reported against him. So I am not going to give him direct neg tag. But a warn should be added on his account by neutral trust. But I believe most of the cases these service turned to exit scam. So be careful guys who don't know him personally.

According to BPIP (https://bpip.org/Profile?p=akash07) seems user has been nuked. Means moderators have taken the right decision against reports. For me, if the user weren't nuked then neutral feedback would fit on his profile. Because there is a risk since the brand new user inviting to Telegram for recovery service. Once there is neutral feedback then other users who would attempt to are recovery service would aware of a potential scam. But such as spam thread where someone promoting his Telegram should handle by forum moderation policy.
